11. I'm pretty sure you've answered this before, but why do Mata Nui and Metru Nui have the same shape?
21) No, I haven't answered it. Answer has not been revealed to the public yet.
32.When did Roodaka absorb the energies of the other Toa (besides Vakama) into the Makuta stone?
42) When they fire their spinners at her at the end of the film.

5Nothing new, but if anyone was confused about these things like me, this should help.
#4322
1Nothing exciting, and some are old news but I wanted to know sour.
2Good to know you're back: Now I can torture you with some questions MUHAHAHAHA: Just kidding. 3Some of the answers to these questions are important to my Bionicle "project" thingy, so do not rush it, OK? If you have, take time to answer them. And I don't have the 2004-2005 books, they aren't out in Hungary (I do not know why), so can you explain somethings and don't just say "Read the book", please? Thanks: Thanks a lot: So, on to the quarterbacks Hoops: I meant to say questions.
41. I have just read some Saga Guides from BS01, but I got confused. What did happen in the Voyage of fear, when the Toa met Mavrah? Can you explain it in a few words?
52. So, did all the Matoran get to Mata Nui?
63. Was every Le-Toa funny or silly like Matau and Lewa? And did all speak that fast and strange? And is it possible that they are the only "funny" Toa, or are/were there other elemental Toa who are funnier?
74. Do you know how the backpacks "stick" to the Matoran? (In MoL, it just was on Jaller's back, without any ropes or something like that.) Is it like how the Masks stay on their faces?
85. Are there any other kind of "normal" (not Kal) Bohrok known besides the Fire, Water, ...etc?
96. Is it normal that Dark Hunters die when doing their job?
107. Matoran can take themselves apart, so:
11a, Does anything strange happen if two Matoran "switch their heads"?
12b, If a Matoran "builds" some parts of Bohrok or Rahkshi, or some tools or whatever in his/her body, does he/she become more powerful or just strange-looking?
138. Are all beasts Rahi, or are there other "not intelligent" wild monstrous animals besides them who are not Rahi?
149. Does every creature call Matoran Matoran, and Toa Toa...? What I mean is, are there any other languages besides Matoran language, or if a Rahi could speak would he/she call the Matoran Matoran ...etc, or something else? I hope you understood that. If not, I'll ask it another way: 15Are there any other sophisticated and complicated languages known besides the Matoran language, or everyone uses the same words?
1610. How do Matoran write? They use stamps, or carve the letters or what?
17That's all the important questions I can think of now. I had a lot more, but I forgot those.
18Some random questions, you can rush these:
1911. How far has the Bionicle story been written?
2012. And do you know how far are the sets designed?
2113. Um...How much do you get for your job?
2214. Do you think that Bionicle's missing the LEGO humor?
2315. Who gives the Bionicle characters the names?
24That's all for now. Thanks:

251) Mavrah had left Metru Nui years back when a Rahi project he was working on was ordered shut down by Turaga Dume. He was convinced the Toa were there to bring him back, so he had his Rahi and the Kralhi fight them. It turned into a big battle, and in the end, Mavrah realized that all this violence and potential harm to his Rahi was just what he wanted to avoid. He tried to stop the fight but he was too late, and he got washed into the underground river and lost. He is presumed dead.
262) Yes
273) All of the Toa have some wit, it's just different from Le-Matoran wit. And yes, most Le-Matoran use the same slang.
284) Yes. Remember, these are bio-mechanical beings, so it would make sense their armor would have ways for things to attach to it.
295) Not known to the Matoran, no
306) No. If that were the case, there wouldn't be many Dark Hunters left.
317a) No idea, it's never happened and I doubt it ever would. 327b) Depends. Adding a Bohrok shield to a Matoran body won't do any good because the Matoran doesn't have the elemental energy to power it. Same with adding Rahkshi parts - you could add a really powerful Rahkshi arm, but if your muscle tissue can't support it, it won't make you stronger. It's sort of like saying if a 98 pound human picks up a 200 pound sword, does he get more powerful? No, because it's too heavy for him to swing.
338) "Rahi" is a Matoran term used the same way we use animal -- essentially, for things that are not them. So if a Matoran sees a wild monstrous beast, it's a Rahi in his mind.
349) Well, the Kikanalo can speak and don't speak Matoran, so yes. And they don't know the term Toa, they referred to the Toa as tall Matoran.
3510) Mostly done by carving into stone, as they don't have paper.
3611) Written in detail through 2006, outlined through 2008 3712) They are starting concept sketches for 2007 now 3813) Not going to answer this one 3914) If it is, it's intentional. If we start making fun of BIONICLE, then everyone else will and it stops being cool. BIONICLE is an epic, and while there is room for humor in it, I am not interested in making it silly. 4015) It used to be done by someone in Europe, but now I do it. We put together a list of like 5 names per character, they get sent off for legal checks, and then I choose the name from the ones that legal has said are okay to use.

1Hi Greg, I have few questions.
21. Since there are no Vahki left and there will be only one Toa on Metru-Nui next year, will the Protocairns attack?
32. Will the Frostelus have anything to do with next year?
43. Why did Matau hate being a Hordika so much?
54. Although it took about two years in our time, How long in the Toa Nuva's time did it take for the Turaga to tell the tale of Metru-Nui?
65. What are the powers of the Protocairns, Frostelus and Parakrekks Rhotuka?
76. Would the Turaga be effected if their Toa disks were destroyed?
87. When will the Turaga Dume comics be up?
98. When will bzpower get images of 2006 sets?
109. When Bzpower starts to get images of 2006 sets will the canistered sets be the ones who arrived on the new island and are misstaken for Toa?
1110. How many Legends books will there be next year?
1211. Which Toa Hordika will be in the next flash animation? I think it will be Nokama
1312. Could you please hold off spoilers for 2007, next year, For a while?
1413. Do Kahgarak ever make webs like normal Visorak?
1514. What do Kahgarak treat normal Visorak like?
1615. Will the Nuva ever meet Krakua?
17Thanks:

181) Since protocairns only attack every so many years, the odds that they are going to do so at this point are probably remote. If they do, Takanuva could fight them off.
192) Probably not, since the storyline does not focus on Metru Nui next year
203) Because Matau likes how he looks as a Toa, and saw himself as ugly as a Hordika
214) Probably three months or so
225) Haven't come up with them.
236) No. Their powers are not bound to their disks.
247) Don't know, I'm not the web producer.
258) BZP normally gets the images on their own before we send any out, usually by getting a copy of a European retailer catalog. So the answer to this question depends on them, not on us.
269) I can't discuss 2006 storyline
2710) 4 novels, two guidebooks
2811) Don't recall offhand
2912) Most spoilers do not come from me. They come from things BZP members find on the web, like on the Scholastic site or other places. Most spoiler topics are marked spoiler and have spoiler tags in them, so if you don't want to know things ahead of time, don't click on the tags. A big part of the members' time on BZP is spent hunting for every little spoiler they can find, so if you hang out on here, you are going to run into a lot of that.
3013) No, not usually
3114) There is no inherent conflict between Kahgarak and Visorak.
3215) I can't discuss future storyline
33Greg

1Got some answers about '06. Comments in italic.
21) Is the Matoran leader a Turaga, or something else?
31) No, he's a Matoran. There are no Turaga on the new island.
4Wonder how they decide?
52) Who gets to the Island first; the Nuva, or the Pseudo-Toa?
62) Can't answer it.
7Thought so.
83) Will the Matoran be in the six primary colours?
93) Yes.
10Aw...
114) Will they be clones?
124) They have different masks and different weapons, don't know how similar the rest is.
13Yay:
145) Will the first canned sets be in the six primary colours?
155) Yes.
16Aw again...
176) Will they be clones?
186) There is a pretty fair amount of differentiation between the six canister sets -- not only weapons, but faces, feet, and other major aspects.
19Yay again:
207) Since you've seen all the sets, are there any playsets?
217) I have seen all the figures, I have not seen playsets yet.
22But are there any?
238) Is the reason that the Nuva aren't being re-released/re-designed that something happens to them that eliminates their importance in the story?
248) Can't answer it. I can tell you there was discussion about re-releasing the Nuva in some form and the decision was made not to because they are simply too recent and we don't feel there would be a big market for them. That was more of a consideration than any story aspect.
25So it's just because a lot of people have them?

26Pretty cool.

27:g: :a: :a: :k: :i:
#4325
1Faces? :o That means they don't have masks,as many people suspected: And different feet? Interesting:

2About the Doomtoran......YAY FOR DIFFERENT WEAPONS:

3Thanks for the great information Gaaki :).

1Gaaki, if you already had the Nuva and Lego, instead of launching a new breed of six canistered sets re-launch the Nuva, wouldn't you feel bad? I would. You're losing the posibility of new sets re-launching old ones, and older sets wouldn't sell that good. Just as much as they sold in their time. 2Khote

1No new info here-

2Just a few questions:
31. Is The Shadowed One still alive 4at the time of the Toa Nuva?
52. Will we see more of Lakriska?
63. In Time Trap it says that as the matoran 7land, The Rahaga and Turaga Dume come out 8to meet them. Who awoke Dume?
94. Will the way Matoran reproduce ever be 10revealed?
115. Is Keetongu still on Metru-Nui when the Toa Nuva land?

121) Yes 132) Don't know yet 143) That gets revealed in an online comic later this year 154) Not anytime soon - our feeling is that the more you reveal, the less mystique BIONICLE has, and there are some things people just don't need to know to enjoy the story 165) No

3I have them. I'm just curious, because he said "wait for the 2006 story and all will be made clear to you" -- implying there's a story reason. I asked him if the above theory was correct, but now he's implying that it's because most of the fans have them.

1First time posting in the OGD...

2Just a few fast questions:
31. By, "Better functionallity" for the "Doomtoran" do you mean something moves better than the swinging waist, or can you answer that? 42. I've seen the scans of the Island of Doom in the back of comic 26, is the green thing around it an eye, something for better ads, or something completely different? 53. You said in an older topic that the Encyclopidia would have a Le-Matoran version of Kohli, was this cut, or am I just not finding it? 64. Is the BIONICLE team still planing on making a model of Lariska for the Dark Hunter guide? 75. Will the origins of Krana ever be revealed? You said that we'd be growsed out by it....
8That's it for now:
9Yay

101) I never said the 2006 Matoran have better functionality, Sidorak. Not sure how that rumor got started. The person who ran their official 2006 list of facts by me was told that that was not accurate. 112) Can't answer it 123) It's in there, Sidorak -- read the kolhii entry. 134) Don't know yet 145) Yes, I am sure it will

15Man, I wanted to see the Matoran better than 03 AND DEFINATLY last year, but I'm sure they will be.
16Yay

1Hello again Greg, I have some questions
21. Is Keetongu still on Metru-Nui when the Toa Nuva arrive?
32. If not then why did he leave?
43. What did the Rahaga and Turaga Dume do for a thousand years on Metru-Nui?
54. What is the behavior of wild Visorak like?
65. If Sidorak or Roodaka were to come to the Visorak in the Nuva's timeline would the Visorak remember them?
76. You said Makuta is a flicering ember compared to the blazing inferno that is Mata-Nui, in their power levels. So what would Takutanuva be?
87. How many Turaga Dume comics will there be?
98. Did Visorak leave Fikou alone? I mean they are spiders too
109. How tall are the Toa Psuendo? Tall as the Nuva? taller?
1110. Is there a new colectible next year?
1211. What sort of colour do the 2006 sets have, Metru colour or the old colour?
1312. How does Roodaka's spinner work? When she hits her foe does she get a mental image in her head of how she wants them to turn out?
1413. If Sidorak fired his spinner at Keetongu would he be controled or could Keetongu shoot a controling spinner back at Sidorak?
1514. Were there any scenes cut from B3?
1615. Does the dvd of B3 have special features?
17Thanks:

181) No 192) He went to save other victims of the Visorak. There was really nothing for him to do on Metru Nui once the Rahi were freed. 203) Protected it, studied the stars, did what rebuilding and repair they could 214) Pretty much the same as the behavior of a spider in our world. 225) I am assuming you haven't read the movie story, so I am not going to answer this one. 236) Takutanuva is more powerful than Makuta, but still way less than Mata Nui 247) 4, I believe 258) Don't think so, no 269) I can't discuss this 2710) Yes 2811) Can't discuss 2006 sets 2912) Yes 3013) Keetongu absorbs energies hurled against him, so it wouldn't affect him 3114) I have no doubt there were, there always are from movies. But I didn't work on the film, so can't really speak to this 3215) Yes, I think there is a BZP topic up about them someplace already, probably under Movies and Books somewhere. Or you can look on Amazon, they would probably have a list of them

335. If Sidorak or Roodaka were to come to the Visorak in the Nuva's timeline would the Visorak remember them?
345) I am assuming you  haven't read the movie story, so I am not going to answer this one.

35No I know that Sidorak dies and Roodaka disapears, but what I ment was, If they still existed and they just came back, would the Visorak go back under their control?

36If Sidorak came back, yes, because he is their king. If Roodaka did, no, because she is guilty in the Visorak's eyes of regicide, which is why they were so quick to abandon her when Vakama said go.

1The fact that Greg can't discuss a meeting between Krakua and the Toa Nuva probably means that they will meet in the future. However, it will probably be a few years. In that case, Krakua might be made into a set when they really meet him.

2He has too many peices to be a good $8 set IMO, plus more then likely Greg is just trying not to paint himself in a corner, so if he says they never meet now and then they do meet we throw it back in his face.
#4335
1I asked him something metru nui related,I can't remember what it was.

1Hi Greg .

21)Just for confirmation,do Kahgarak mutate? 32)Are Kahgarak always with a blue color scheme?
43)Roodaka is dead,right?

54)Will we see new colors in the 2006 sets, like we did in 2005 with Keetogu's yellow?

65)Is the good 24.99 Titan a member of the Order of Mata-Nui? 76)Do the members of the Order come from different species,or they're all from the same ones like the members of the BOM? 87)Was the Order created after the BOM's betrayal?

9Thank you for your time.

10--:s::h::a::k::a::r:-

111) If they were hit by Roodaka's spinner they would, yes 122) No 133) Time will tell 144) I can't discuss 2006 sets 155) There are no $24.99 items that I know of 166) It is too early to discuss this 177) No, long before

18I find 3 VERY interesting..........

19Edit:New anaswers:

20Sorry,I formulated question 1 wrong.

211)Can Kahgarak use the mutating venom?

22No

23Sorry,it's me again,hope you don't mind.

24I confused you in question 5 because here in Europe the 19.99 $ sets cost 24.99 Euro,so...
255)Is the good 19.99 $ Titan a member of the Order of Mata-Nui?

26Again,thanks.

27-:s::h::a::k::a::r:-

28Sorry, I'm not going to answer this -- the $19.99 USD sets do not come out until summer '06, so it is way too early to be discussing them.

1I just got his PM back from Greg:
2On Mata Nui and Metru Nui, the Matoran who lived their had a culture of benevolent dictatorship.  The Turaga were their elders, and were to be obeyed without question.  The 06 island doesn't have Turaga, so the Matoran their would be ruling themselves.  Do they have a more democratic system of government on the IOD, like some type of tribal council that makes decisions but whose members need to be elected and serve a limited term, say one Matoran from each village or something like that?  It would be new and original in my opinion.
3LORDs_angellos

4Well, we don't see a ton of "normal Matoran life" on the island, because it doesn't last very long after the coming of the villains. A council of some sort would certainly make sense -- I did not have the sense that there was a single leader, it seemed more of a cooperative venture. Whether or not it is a democratically elected council or some sort of rotating situation, I do not know.

1Here's an answer to a question that I have wondered about.

2Will we ever see the Rahaga and/or Keetongu again? I mean when the Toa Nuva, Turaga, and Matoran return to Metru Nui?

3The Rahaga are there to greet the Matoran when they return to Metru Nui at the end of Book 10. Keetongu is not, as there would be no point in his staying on Metru Nui for 1000 years. But the 2006-2008 stories do not focus on Metru Nui, so we are not spending a lot of time on the characters in the city.

#4339
1So what does that mean about Takanuva? He was supposed to play a major role in the story. :o

1So what does that mean about Takanuva? He was supposed to play a major role in the story. :o

2In 2006? Where'dja get that from? Actually, Greg's said the opposite for a while now. ;)

1QUOTE 2Hello Greg. I just finished reading BA 9 and 10, you best work yet, and I have a few questions.
31. What happened to the Karzahni? Did that blast from Makuta kill it or just stun it? If the former, could the Karzahni still be on Metru-Nui?
42. After the big fight, did the Shadowed One, Voporahk, and Sentrahk all go back to the Dark Hunters base?
53. During their several hundred year time alone on Metru-Nui, did Turaga Dume and the Rahaga try to repair things and put Rahi back in the Archives?
64. Is it possible that the Voporahk will look for Tahu Nuva because he has the Vahi?
75. Is this the correct list of dead characters? 8Lhikan 9Roodaka 10Sidorak 11Ihu 12Nidhiki 13Krekka
146. After the big fight in BA 9, did the Toa Metru also find and load all the Kanohi Olda that they hid for the Toa Olda?
157. How exactly did the Toa Metru get Kanohi Nuva and hide them for the Toa Nuva? And how was it triggered so that as soon as the Toa Olda turned Nuva the Nuva masks appeared?
168. What did the Toa Metru do after they unloaded all the Matoran pods on the beach after getting back to Mata-Nui for the second time? Did they start any construction for the Matoran or just hide the Olda masks?
179. Is this the correct list of beings the BoM wanted for their army? 18Bohrok 19Rahkshi 20Dark Hunters 21Exo-Toa 22Toa
23Thanks Greg. BA 10 was great. Your best one yet.

241) Deprive a plant of heat and light, and it dies. Don't forget, Makuta created it, he knew how to kill it. 252) Eventually, yes 263) Yes 274) Yes 285) Mavrah is also dead. Roodaka is presumed dead. 296) Yes 307) They didn't. The Kanohi Nuva mysteriously appeared on Mata Nui when the Toa became Toa Nuva. Remember, the Turaga had no idea that was going to happen, so could not have prepared for it. 318) Most likely, they worked on building shelters before they worried about hiding masks. 329) No. The BoM army consisted of Exo-Toa and Visorak, with a small number of Dark Hunters in support. The fake Bohrok were just an experiment, the Toa Hagah were never part of the army, and no Rahkshi were involved with the army either.

33Aw, guess that means Karzahni plant is dead.
#4342
1I got a very interesting reply from Greg:
2Since Roodaka played both sides of this war, and this war was after B3, does this mean that she is still alive & didn't die, or did I miss something?
3LORDs_angellos

4Simply means that is a story that has yet to be told. :)

5I don't know about you, but that seems like very strong evidence that she's alive to me: :D 6~ :a: ~
#4343
1I don't know if anybody has asked him this yet, but here it is.
2How did the Rahaga wake up Turaga Dume? The Toa Metru had to sacrifice their powers to wake the Matoran, but the Rahaga don't have any.

3The Rahaga didn't wake him up.

4Then who woke him up?

5What happened to Dume is supposed to be covered by online comics later this year. If, for some reason, they don't get put up, I will send the scripts to BZP for posting.

6I hope they get it up soon...
#4344
1It seems BZPower members are at fault for Roodaka possibly being the last female-LOOKING female for the foreseeable future.
2Which is weird, because I thought "Lego doesn't base it's products on what members on BZPower say as they're only a small part of the Bionicle fanbase".

3ME:
4I know you can't comment too far in either a positive or negative acknowledgement of this subject, but I'll ask anyway.
5Looking at this bootleg site, are there any approved designs at Lego slated for production which utilize the basic, common-sense alteration to the female's chestplate to identify that the character is in fact a female?
6Like, just as these bootleggers have turned the Nokama clone female, does Lego plan to not make any more Toa-sized female characters which require someone telling you it's female to know it is female?
7http://www.blocko.com.cn/chanpin/zhongjizh...i_show.asp?id=1
8If yes, what year will it appear in the Bionicle line? 9If no... why?
10Thanks. -Jinzo

11GREG:
12Hi Jinzo,
13I really can't give you much of an answer, but not because I am not allowed to or anything -- I simply don't have this information. I work in CT on the story end of things -- all product design gets done in Denmark and I really have no involvement with it. I have no idea what they are planning beyond next year.
14From a logical standpoint, though, why would a BIONICLE female have feminine physical characteristics? Why would a BIONICLE female need breasts, for example, since there are no babies to nurse? Gender, in BIONICLE, is more about attitude and mental orientation, physically it is irrelevant since there is no biological reproduction.
15Greg

16ME:
17Hi Greg, and thanks much for answering. 18Yeah, I see what you mean about them not having the organic needs for being female and looking female, though this doesn't jive with completely either with what's been presented to the viewers so far.
19--The breastplate of the bootleg Nokama looks more like the way the Mask of Light designers presented Gali Nuva's chest. 20--Then a "queen" reference pops up with Roodaka (who has female characteristics for all to see presented in toy AND movie likenesses) in conversations regarding her hooking up with Sidorak... going so far as to discuss marriage.  (Since they already hang out together, just what "marriage" then means is open to question.
21In the case of the Toa canister type figures, it seems (to me anyway) like not creating a distinctly female chest armor piece might just be an unfortunate cost-cutting measure.
22I think a better question than my initial one is, why would only some of the female characters get visually represented as being female if Roodaka is clearly fashioned after what organic female lifeforms usually have? It shows that some entity which has designed them does have a concept that females = skinny, soft voiced and ...well, female looking.

23GREG:
241) As has been stated elsewhere, the "marriage" between Roodaka and Sidorak would have been nothing more than a formalized political alliance. No romantic relationship was implied there. 252) Roodaka was the only female model ever made to look vaguely female, and what it spawned was a lot of immature jokes on BZP, so why would we reush to do that again? 263) Roodaka's shape shows that the design team tried something new, probably in part because of input from the movie people. That's all.

27I dunno'... a couple kids making jokes derails a whole strain of creative possibilities in the sculpting, but TONS of BZP members screaming for accessory packs goes unheard?

1I have finiched read ing some spoliers info and BA 9#`: Ba #9 sounds really great`: It is action-packed and really dark to me..to much emphazines the dark side I think 2About Spoliers 31. Did Dume know Rahaga each other(in toa time)? 42. When will we know the mystery appearance of Nuva mask on mata nui?( time will tell again?) 53. Is there ever battle between BOM and OMN? 64. will the island of doom divide into 6 regions( hope u can tell 7) 85. Do IOD exist in toa metru time? 96. Why does vahi change from gold to orange? rust over 1000years?( If BA 10 already told, ok) 107. Where are the other 3 great disks , apart from those which had already been used for vahi?
11About Ba #9 121. Why didn't rahaga find keetongu earlier, not til the toa become hordika? you once said that ragaha has stayed in achieve for a long time, right? 132. why didn't toa metru use vahki transport but airship to ship matoran? 143. Is sidorak also want to free makuta? If yes, why Roodaka still left him alone to face keetongu? because of his weakness? 154. Where does Roodaka get the makuta stone? 165. Keetongu's power is to absorb energy which shot to him and fight back. But why didn't keetongu did this when Roodaka and Sidorak shoot energy blast to him in Ba9?? 176. Why we didn't see Roodaka and Sidorak use spinner in Ba9?( disppointed) 187.Why Norik can understand what keetongu speak even he don't hv language translate abaility?

191) No 202) You mean how they wound up there? Not for a while yet. 213) There may be, one day, who knows? 224) No 235) Yes 246) From being in the sea 257) All six were used for the Vahi. It wasn't shown in the movie because showing Vakama merge masks over and over would have gotten boring.
261) They needed the power of Toa to help them do it. 272) There weren't enough intact Vahki transports, for one thing. And the seaway they used to originally get from Metru Nui to Mata Nui was caved in in Book 5. 283) Sidorak wasn't all that concerned about freeing Makuta. He would have been perfectly happy to rule by himself than answer to someone else. 294) It's carved from part of Makuta's prison 305) Because he was busy falling off the tower 316) Because it's not in the movie script. I can't put things into the book that don't happen in the script I have. 327) Norik has spent years studying Keetongu's species, that's why

1Here are more Greg answers.
2Me:
3Greg:

4Hi Greg i have some questions.
51) What should the speedstar be used for if the life in Metru-Nui continued.
62) Don,t know if you can answer this but. Where in the Great temple is the suva placed and what is there on the other levels and what are the 4 tower things and what are they used to.
73) Did the Toa Metru had a airship each or on together.
84) If they had one each how came Vakama,s to Mata-Nui while he figthed for the Vahi.
95) What happend to Makuta after the battle with TSO he was gone.
106) How did Makuta found Arkmou.
117) How did Kahzarni died 2th time.
128) Why did he saved Vakama and was he and Makuta freinns again or what.
139) Can Pewku remember the time in Metru-Nui.
1410) What is the Towers of Thoughts used to.

151) What speedstar? I don't know what you're talking about. 162) I don't have this information, because it hasn't been relevant to the story. We don't map out every last thing, we only focus on the things we are going to use. 173) They built more than one, but they all traveled in the one up front. 184) He walked. Same way he got from Mata Nui to Metru Nui in Book 6. 195) No, Makuta fought Vakama after the battle with TSO. 206) He knew where to look. 217) Makuta created a shell around him that cut him off from heat and light. 228) No, Karzahni was not friends with Makuta again. He saved Vakama because Vakama is Makuta's enemy and Karzahni hates Makuta. 239) Yes, most likely 2410) They are used for ultra-important research projects

251) The speedstar Matoran matau was testing in LoMN. 262) Okay must image my self. 273) Can you explain more clearly. 284) It was his airship. 295) Okay how did he lost. 306) How. 317) Okay. 328) Okay so Vakama was his freind. 339) Okay. 3410) Such as.

351) Um, that broke into a whole bunch of pieces in LOMN. It didn't work. 363) Simple. Think of a train, with an engine and a bunch of cars. They built a bunch of airships -- the one in front, where the engine would be on a train, is where all the Toa were. The ones attached to it, like the train cars, held the sleeping Matoran. 374) No, all the Toa were in one airship. The airships left, he stayed behind, and then he walked to Mata Nui. 385) He didn't lose. They made a deal. Makuta allowed Vakama to leave and granted the Matoran one year of safety, in return for Vakama not shattering the Mask of Time and ending the universe. 396) He knew the technology of the canisters, so it makes sense he would have the ability to track where one was 408) "Friend" is too strong a word. Karzahni didn't have any friends. He had beings he used. 4110) Such as efforts to help the Ga-Matoran duplicate energized protodermis.

421) But it was builtet and should it be used for if it was succeced. 433) Okay cool And was Matau the one who controlled it. I thought it took years to learn how to control a airship. 444) Okay how did he came out jumpet our the other sat him off. 455) Okay. 466) Cool. 478) But wasn,t it like my enermies enermy is my friend. 4810) Okay cool.

491) It was built, tested, and it fell apart. It was a failure. Shortly after that, the Matoran were captured and the city abandoned. So who was there to rebuild it, and why would they bother? 503) You do what you have to do. 514) He jumped out of the airship into the water while the vessel was still close to the ground. 528) Yes, but "friend" is used loosely here. If Karzahni suddenly decided he would gain more by working with Makuta, he would stab Vakama in the back in two seconds. In this case, he simply saw more of an advantage on working with Vakama than he did with Makuta.
53Greg

541) But why was it designed should it be used to something or just designed and destroyed. 553) Okay. 564) In the air woaw but is the airshpis connected with a rope or cen you go from ship to ship. 578) Okay.

581) It was designed to be another kind of vehicle that could be used. It didn't work, so they aren't using it. That is why they test things, to see if they work or not. 594) no, you can't go from ship to ship. Most likely, they are chained together or something like that .

601) Okay cool. 614) Okay but was vakama opening the door and jump in the water while the ship was flying.

624) Yes, but the ship was still low to the ground, so it was like a skydiver jumping out.

1I understand Jinzo's frustration, but the reaction to the posts on here is more from me than from set designers. To my knowledge, the set designers do not come on BZP, so how things get reacted to here does not affect their plans unless I choose to pass feedback onto them. But the fact remains that making Roodaka more "female" has not resulted in the model selling more than expected, or really changed anything beyond the comments I have seen on here. No one is hailing Roodaka as a revolution in model building or something.
2As for fans "screaming" for accessory packs ... BZP is a fraction fo the audience -- roughly 1000 active fans out of millions of BIONICLE fans out there. So at times what you scream for does not translate into sales (since many BZPers no longer buy sets anyway). What we put out is based on our market research and our focus groups and how many items we can reasonably put out in a year and expect sales -- you don't want to glut the market.
3And the story point remains -- BIONICLE females have no need for female sexual characteristics, because they do not bear or nurse children. So logically, why should they look that way? They are biomechanical, why would their armor be designed to reflect characteristics they don't have? For that matter, what Matoran would even know what those characteristics ARE?
4I do understand why Jinzo interpreted my answer as he did, but BZP does not wield so much influence that they can easily "derail" things.

6well i think roodaka was a revulotion. its called artistic freedom. when i draw nagas i give them female features, just to show that they are females, nothing else
#4349
1But you are assuming that somehow the designers did not have artistic freedom before Roodaka -- and they did. They made the choice to make the female characters look the way they did before, it wasn't dictated to them from on high.

1Here's one for those who have not yet read BA #10 (myself included)
2In BA #5, Ahkmou is in the sphere that is lost and it says that he sleeps on, awaiting a being of power who would one day awaken him.Who wakes him and how does he get to Mata Nui?

3That's revealed in Book 10.

2I guess it was just a matter of perspective, based on this line:
32) Roodaka was the only female model ever made to look vaguely female, and what it spawned was a lot of immature jokes on BZP, so why would we reush to do that again?

4Anyway,
5But the fact remains that making Roodaka more "female" has not resulted in the model selling more than expected, or really changed anything beyond the comments I have seen on here. No one is hailing Roodaka as a revolution in model building or something.

6Yeah, noone hails it as a revolution in building, but that's not because any part of the design was sacrificed or compromised just to make it female. That, I believe, is due in part to her design itself being nothing revolutionary. The normal non-handed, giant-weaponed, "large" Bionicle figure syndrome. 7She's also a bit more movie-accurate than Nivawk was in Bionicle 2 (ugh, remember us discussing that?), but still... minor changes could make it great instead of "normal".
8I'm pretty sure adding more female designs (in conjunction with better, more serious model designing) could only create more connections to the buying audience, and their wallets. True, it's largely a kid's toy line, but there's no harm in trying to keep some of the older audience interested as they go through puberty and such.
9To my knowledge, the set designers do not come on BZP, so how things get reacted to here does not affect their plans unless I choose to pass feedback onto them.

116. In the Shadow Toa entry, it says the Toa defeated the shadows by "re-absorbing them into their bodies", while it says that the Toa actively destroyed them in the first Chronicles book. Did that change? 216) I haven't read the first book in a while, but the story idea I gave to Scholastic was what was in the Encyclopedia. You can't destroy the evil part of yourself, it's part of you, you can only accept it and try to master it. 3Okay, so that's another detail in the fight.

4Not that I wish to disrespect Greg, but it seems to me you can only be original to an extent...and when it comes to completely rewriting the earlier Bionicle story(Not like unestablished stuff, but the actual novels...written by Greg or not, they -are- official.), seems to me like it's stretching it a bit.

5I am forced to agree with Rayg, I mean , I can accept that MNOG was not exactly correct, but changing the official novels seems going a bit too far. However, the part about "absorbing the shadows into you" seems kinda cool. I wonder if we'll see any more of this. (You never know:)
6torritorri 7:t: :t:

8Greg didn't say that that was how they defeated them, ( I don't think) and maybe they when pohatu shouted out to work together he was "accepting" and "mastering" 9Of course there is till the problem that they killed the shadow toa.
10Also, if pewku could remember Metru Nui, what if one of the toa used their noble maskof trans;ation to learn about metru nui on accident, just some random thought.

1Also, if Pewku could remember Metru Nui, what if one of the Toa used their Noble Rau to learn about Metru Nui on accident?

3Because Noble Raus can only translate written languages, and the Toa didn't have access to a Great Rau, to the best of my knowledge.

1Two simple questions - Island of Doom - this is final name for island? no-Nui or what? 2And second - IoD is underground like Metru Nui or on surface?

3Thanks,

51) No, it's not the final name, it's just the name of the first novel 62) Can't answer it
7Greg

8Hm, IoD is only-for-some-time name of that island...

1While certainly designing a model with female characteristics would not fall under some major contradiction of the story rule -- you essentially have something where there is no story reason not to do it, and there is no story reason TO do it. Which leaves the usual decider of such things, set sales -- and while I am sure Roodaka is doing well, I am not hearing that she is doing that much better than Keetongu or Sidorak. So there is nothing in the sales figures to say that doing the model that way made much of a difference.
2As for the "female shaped model" creating more of a connection to the audience .. I gotta admit, stumped by that one. I really don't think fans entering puberty will be moved to buy more LEGO sets if they are shaped like females. I am probably way misunderstanding what Jinzo meant here, but on the face of it, I am confused by the idea. Yes, making characters that look more human increases identification, but BIONICLE characters are NOT human, so I think it's debatable whether that is a direction we should go in.

2Female sets would attract me. Now, I'm not a pervert or anything, but the mere fact that you haven't made a clearly distinguishable female set, aside from Roodaka, only makes it more interesting if you made one. I say 'You' in the sense of LEGO, the company you work for, and not YOU you, by the way :P
3By the way, while we're on the subject of sets, Gali Olda's chest... Now, am I mistaken, or was the shoulder-peice used on her chest to help distinguish her as a girl? I mean, Tahu, Kopaka, and Lewa had the saem build as her and all haf the ball-socket-peice-thingy on their chests, but Gali had a shoulder-peice-thingy as her chest-peice. Does that really mean anything or am I thinking too far into it? :lookhere: :lookhere:
#4357
1I thought the same way for like 5 years about Gali Olda's chest. That's definitely a try to distingish a female, why no do it again with the normal group of six canistered sets, if LEGO want to avoid the clones? 2Khote
#4358
1A slightly redesigned chest of Nuva armor, flattened with like 4 peg holes would be fine too. 2The "guys" could leave it bare, while the token chick could have smooth, sloped system bricks slapped on. 3Everyone still gets to use the same part, merely one adds something to it.
4But now this topic might turn into the Sets forum, so let's stop there. :D
#4359
1Were the Toa "olda" created from the Toa Metru-made Toa stones? If not, then what happened to the stones.
2and another question
3When Ta-Koro was destroyed, what happened to Tahu Nuva's power symbol and his Kanohi Nuva Masks

41) No. The Toa stones were used by Takua to summon the Toa to Mata Nui. They are still on Mata Nui.
52) The masks would probably be under the lava, but we do not know if they have been actually destroyed or not. His power symbol was not in Ta-Koro at the time, because after the Bohrok-Kal incident the Turaga moved all the symbols to a safer place than the villages.

6Does that mean he will have to go and find them, or will he only be able to use his Hau Nuva?

7Odds are he will be only using the Hau, as he would not be able to survive a prolonged period diving in lava to search for them.

8I wonder if that may cause any future problems and Tahu Nuva is probably annoyed that he went through all that trouble to find the masks just to lose them.

1I wonder if that may cause any future problems and Tahu Nuva is probably annoyed that he went through all that trouble to find the masks just to lose them.

2He didn't really lose them, as long as they're unharmed. The Matoran can just build him a new Suva on Metru Nui (which they'll probably do for all the Toa) and he can simply transfer his masks from the old Suva to the new one from the city.
