31. Why does it matter which hand Takanuva uses? While I like the idea of him controlling light and shadow, I find that application of the idea to be a bit clumsy (more personal preference than anything else). 41) Simple. One, it makes it very clear to younger readers that he is divided in half, and his left hand is the one that holds his lance that was intended by us to shoot light.
52. Despite having two elements, does he have the same amount of elemental energy as other Toa? 62) Yes
73. I've been meaning to ask this for a while. You've said that Makuta have no light, yet any being with no light seems to be inherently evil. Despite this, the Makuta were originally a force for good. Why, then, can other beings not have only shadow and still be good? 83 b. If the only way to have shadow powers is to have no light, then wouldn't it logically follow that to have light powers you must have no shadow? 93) Light doesn't work the same as shadow. Remember, darkness is only the absence of light -- light is not defined as the absence of darkness. As for the Makuta, keep in mind there is a difference between doing good works and actually being good. It is entirely possible the Makuta did have some light early on, but purposely turned away from it and over time drove it from themselves, in the same way that a human can make a decision to no longer be good or charitable or honest.
104. How does a person's light/shadow affect their elemental abilities? Why does a Toa need light in order to have fire or ice powers? 114) Cause that was how we decided to do it. Otherwise, you have to have shadow Matoran firing off bursts of light, since that was what they could do as Av-Matoran, and that doesn't really make sense visually.
125. Was Takanuva saved by Brutaka, or another order member? If it was another order member, how/why was Brutaka on Metru Nui? 135) He was not saved by Brutaka, no. The story of what happened is in Bionicle Legends #10 later this year.

Unless Toa in this universe for some reason lack the moral fibre they're renowned for, I cannot see there being nearly enough Toa around to create anything like a 'Toa Empire'. How is it that so many Toa have apparently rallied to Tuyet's cause, when what's happening seems to go against their very natures? 2611) I will ask you a question back -- why did otherwise honest, decent Americans sit idly by while their Japanese neighbors were interned in WWII? Because they were convinced of an external and possibly internal threat. Why do many casually give up their civil liberties today and agree to greater surveillance, etc.? Because we are worried about an internal and exterrnal threat. All Tuyet had to do was impress upon them, as many a demagogue has done in history, that order in the universe was essential -- that without it, you could not have justice or mercy or anything else. But once order comes before anything else, you wind up with a dictatorship.
2712. You say the Brotherhood and Dark Hunters are fighting for freedom. Now while I can imagine the Brotherhood doing this, as they were supposedly good back when the uprising began (if I've got my times right), I find the idea of the Dark Hunters doing this impossible. Are they genuinely fighting for freedom, or are they acting more as an anti-Toa force that are also using the situation to act as 'benevolent bounty hunters' - as in, we'll help you and protect you against Toa if you pay us type of thing? It seems the sort of thing they'd do. 2812 b. Equally, are the Brotherhood genuinely fighting for freedom, or more to eliminate a threat so they're free to go ahead with whatever plans they might have? 2912 c. What are the Order of Mata Nui doing in this universe? 3012) As I have pointed out to others, the dictionary definition of "freedom" says nothing about "doing good" -- it can also mean freedom to be wrong, freedom to lie, freedom to do evil. The BOM and DH are faced with a tyranny that wants to wipe them out, and the fact that it is also hard on the Matoran and others is incidental to them. Let me put it this way -- let's say a fllood was heading for your house. You and your friends rush out to pile up sandbags. Are you doing it to protect yourselves and your property, or is your major concern that anthill in your backyard that is going to be washed away? Probably the former, and it's the same with the BOM and the DH. Their survival is at stake, and if stopping the Toa benefits the Matoran in some way, that's just a fringe benefit for the Matoran. 3112c) We'll get to that.
3213. Just how powerful did the Nui Stone make Tuyet? Equal to a Brotherhood of Makuta member, or stronger? 3313) More powerful than a BOM member. Six Toa have been shown to be able to defeat a BOM member, and Tuyet has the power of dozens, maybe more.
3414. When will we find out Tuyet's Toa tool? 3514) When she shows up in story.

Do most beings (let's say Matoran) naturally have more light or shadow, and would the proportions be different depending on their element (I'm guessing more light than usual for Matoran of light)? 3715) Av-Matoran would definitely have more light, but one has to question whether, say, Ahkmou would have more light than shadow.

I just don't understand why it effects other elements. Is the element change more to make it easier to follow for younger readers, so you don't have to explain why it gives some characters shadow powers but not others? 504) Basically, I am trying to avoid confusion. If I say the Av-Matoran lose their light but Tahu, say, keeps his fire, it's a contradiction and it leaves people scratching their heads. If I make a rule that everyone loses their original element, then it is nice and clear.
5111. Ah, I see. I guess with so many centuries of such rule, any Toa would now see that as right. Tuyet did have a long time to impose her own order on people, after all. I was thinking too much of it as an instantaneous, forceful change. 5212. Ok, that makes a lot more sense. The organisations aren't really interested in the well-being of Matoran and so on, but their own survival and their own freedoms. One thing I am curious about is why Tuyet thought to attack the Brotherhood when they were supposed to be good at the time? Did they actively rebel, or did she think such a powerful organisation was too much of a threat to her own order, perhaps? 5312 b. The reason for this is that what the Ignika does is kill all living things in the Matoran universe -- but if other life were to take the place of that, the universe itself would not die, meaning the dimensions attached to it would be unaffected. The problem you have is that Brutaka is the only one we know who can make that happen, he is not in Karda Nui, and so won't know if the mask turns black.

5Avohkii means light, Av is a Matoran prefix that also means light. The same way that "return" means to come back again, and "re" before a word -- as in replace, realign, revote -- means it is being done again.

7With all due respect, the phrasing of your question isn't that clear. It's possible that Greg misinterpreted it, and is saying a Toa of Sonics could detect sonar while an Elda can't.
