1Well, be glad it isn't. Also, be glad that Sidorak's obedience spinner's effect lasts for "only" a day... 2EDIT: Well, I'm sure glad to know that it isn't only me who doesn't have any questions for Mr. Farshtey. Here are a few more, on books (for obvious reasons :P)...
GregF
31) I keep getting the "here's the real Rahi Beasts cover" post. So I'll ask you personally--is the Tahtorak cover the real cover picture for the Rahi Beasts book? 42) And while we're at it--what does the Rahi Beasts back info read like? :D 53) Which page of BL #1 are you on now, if I may ask? B-) 64) Also, is BL #1 slated for January? 75) And if I may ask about BL #2's title--has it been decided yet?
81) Yes 92) I don't have a copy with me right this second 103) I am into Chapter Two 114) I think so 125) Yes, but I am not going to reveal it yet

1QUOTE 2Hi Mr. Farshtey. I have some questions about the above.
3Artahka:
41. Is Artahka a character a well as a mythical island named after him or just a island.
52. Are there any more spirots beside Mata-Nui & Makuta? If so, can Artahka be one?
63. Will we learn more about Artahka in 2006?
7Karzahni:
81. Is Karzahni going to appear in 2006?
92. I read somewhere that there is only one other besides Mata-Nui that Makuta respects. Is Karzahni the character that Makuta respects? I would think so sense he named his prototype Morbuzahk after him.
103. Does Karzahni control his own island?
114. Does Karzahni have anything to do with the Brotherhood?
12Off-Topic:
131. Do you look at other people's Epics to get ideas?
14Thanks for your answers & your time:
15UGM712

161) Artakha is not a character and we do not know that it is an island, or that it ever even existed. 172) As I said, Artakha is not a character. And Makuta is not a Great Spirit. 183) No.
191) I am assuming you are talking about the original Karzahni, not the plant creature. Answer's no. 202) No 213) Not something I can answer -- what is known about Karzahni at this point is what was in the book. 224) No, Karzahni predates the Brotherhood.
231) No. I don't read fan fiction at all, ever. Using other people's ideas without crediting them or paying them would be plagiarism, so it is safer to not even risk doing that accidentally. So I avoid fan stories.

1Hi. I saw this quote, and I just want to know, has Mata-Nui turned evil? Or is he selfish? Because this mysterious quote from a book of yours (no one knws what book or who says it), it sound like Mata-Nui ordering the Great Temple built for selfish reasons:
2"Over here. This is where will build the temple." 3"A temple? Devoted to what?" asked the Matoran, puzzled. 4"To the three things that matter most to me," came the solemn reply. 5"Oh, of course, the three virtues -- Unity, Duty and Destiny:" 6"No, no," said the armored figure, shaking his head. "Me, myself, and I."

7You said this isn't Makuta, a member of his Brotherhood, or any DH's. So... if this is Mata-Nui, is he bad? And if it's not Mata-Nui, WHO IS IT? And which book is it from? I'm dying to know:
8Thanks:

10No, it's not Mata Nui. Mata Nui is asleep, so he's not talking to anyone.
11And sorry, I am not sharing any info beyond what i posted in the topic.

5That, and he's egotistical, powerful (note "armored"), and probably a bad guy. Also a witty bad guy with a cruel sense of humor, which is bad for the Toa, but a good read for us, and fun for Greg to write, which is why we're suddenly seeing so many of those (Makuta in Time Trap, Roodaka, this guy).
6Probably the 2006 villain.

1I have some very interesting answers here.
2Hi Mr.Farshety I have a question for you, 3Do mask powers skip generations because toa lhikan had a hau and the next generation had others (invisibility, shapeshifting etc.)The generation after that had a hau for tahu so do mask powers skip generations? (there are of course exceptions the toa hagah, Takanuva) 4Thank you for reading, 5TLLS

6Nope. Because Toa Tahu was a Toa during the time Lhikan was a Toa, so he wasn't two generations later. Vakama wore a Huna because that is the mask he was wearing when he became a Toa. If he had been wearing a Matoran Hau when he became a Toa, he would have been wearing a Great Hau.

1Here's some questions. Nothing really new...
21. I read you were changing Makuta to be more evil-like, will this continue in the comics and storyline in general or just the books?
31) The basic answer is yes, since I write the story bibles, the comics, and the books. But he is not slated to be in the comics anytime soon, since 2006 takes place in present day after he was crushed by the gateway.
42. Have any Vahki made it to Roodaka or Sidorak, can you describe what would happen?
52) No, they haven't. They would have to get into the Coliseum and that is too heavily guarded by Visorak
63. Wehn the Matoran lost there memories did they still remember how to read, to write, and other things like that?
73) Yes
84. I know there are Vahki and those robots that help out in the forge, but are there any other robots on Metru-Nui.
94) Kralhi were also robots, though there were very few actually in the city
105. You said that the story of Dume will be on Bionicle.com if I'm not mistaken, does that mean you got the OK to post some short stories on Bionicle.com?
115) No, this has no connection to the short stories. This is something the web producer suggested we do.
12Thanks Greg:

1A few answers:
21) If the BOM isn't named after Makuta, why is is called that? 31) You are assuming Makuta is a proper name. Maybe it's not. 4[IHmmmmm...
52)Will BOM member sets be boxed or canned? 62) There are no plans to do BOM member sets for at least a few years -- they haven't even been designed yet, let alone packaging decided upon. 7I'm just to info-hungry...
83) Is there a thought up reason why TSO is leader of the DH? 93) It's entirely possible he founded the DH.
#3817
1About TSO--I wonder if the musing is mentioned in BA #10 or the Encyclopedia...

55) No, this has no connection to the short stories. This is something the web producer suggested we do. 6...

7For 3) I think the loss of memory here is similar to amnesia here, where the victim has not problem recalling "basic" actions such as the language they speak and how to walk, etc. But the loss of memory occurs mainly to personal memories, such as one's identity or where they live, etc.
8For 5) I have a sneaking suspicion that the Dume thing mentioned might be a form of "journal" of Dume's where he catalogues somehow what happens to him. They could be called the "Dume Chronicles" or something to that effect.

2Hello Greg: This is the first time I PM you:
3Here are the answers:
41)Is the mystery speaker a 2006 character? 51)Yes 62)Are the 2006 can villains insect based -Visorak,Bohrok,Vahki- or reptile based -Rahkshi- ? 73) Yes 85) He will play a role, I wouldn't call it a huge role 96) Not to my knowledge, no. He's dead. 103)Will the Shadowed One use his eyebeams in BA10? 113) Yes 124)Did you enjoy writing the Shadowed One? 134) Yes 145)Will the Brickmaster Toa play a big role in BA10? 155) He will play a role, I wouldn't call it a huge role 166)There will be no Turaga Lhikan set, right? 176) Not to my knowledge, no. He's dead. 187)Among the Madness Spinner, the eyebeams and the power of his staff, does the Shadowed One have other powers? 197) What else does he need?:) 208)Do you know if the Voporak combo set will have a promo, like Takutanuva and Ultimate Dume? 218) No, I don't know 229)When we will see a picture of Voporak? 239) Not sure, I don't know when they are releasing the first pic of him. Not my call to make. 2410)How intelligent is Voparak? 2510) Pretty intelligent 2611)Before being mutated by the Brotherhood of Makuta, what type of creature was Voporak? 2711) He was a member of his own species. He was not a Rahi. 2812)Is it Voporak or Voparak? 2912) It's Voporak 3013)What type of creature is the Shadowed One? 3113) Again, he is a separate species. He is not a "type of creature." 3214)What type of creature is Sentrakh? 3314) Same answer as 13 3415)Does the Shadowed One's staff have a name? 3515) Not yet, no 3616)What is the power of Voporak's Rothuka Spinner? 3716) I would have to check, don't remember off the top of my head 3817)When Krekka became a Dark Hunter, did his appearance changed? 3917) No 4018)Does Voporak have any body feature, like a tail or a pair of wings? 4118) I haven't seen the model in ages, but I know he doesn't have wings. He is built using pieces from the Sidorak, Roodaka and Keetongu sets and none of them have wings. 4219)I don't get the defeat of the Bohrok Kal.I mean, how can the slowingpower of the Vahi make a character reacts his attacks to himself? 4319) The Vahi just slowed them down. What defeated them was the fact that they were carrying the Toa Nuva symbols, which were linked to the Toa Nuva and contained their Toa power. When the Toa Nuva were able to mentally trigger the symbols, the power flowed into the Bohrok-Kal and increased their own power beyond their ability to control it. 4420)Why does the Shadowed One want the Vahi? He wouldn't be able to use it. 4520) It's an incredibly powerful object. He could get one of his minions to use it, or he could ransom it to the Brotherhood of Makuta, or he could research and find a way to tap its power himself.

46That's all.I hope you didn't think that there were too many.

1I asked about masks today - and this is what I got.
2Do the kanohi have to be a certain shape to have certain powers. For exampleCan a mask be the shape of a komau and have the powers of a Kualsi, or does the Komau have to have a komaus powers. Can you please answer me? :)

3No. The reason all Komau are the same shape is simply the same reason all stop signs are red and white and octagonal. When you are in an emergency and you really need a Komau, you don't want to have to try on every mask to see which one is a Komau. So they are all made the same shape for purposes of easy recognition. Changing the shape would not change the power.

31) I basically answered this yesterday in the forums. My theory is that Makuta did do good things in the past, but he didn't do them because he was good, he did them because he was afraid of Mata Nui. 42) I have no idea what you are referring to. Someone asked me if I was going to specifically break down the events of the 2003 comics into a timeline, and I said I didn't have plans to right now. 53) Yes
6Few more I dredged up, mostly from what you said... 71) Are the main villains' names and character descriptions nailed down yet (or are the Nuva still battling Kermit the Frog and co.)? :D 82) You just said that the Hagah existed 200 years before the Toa Metru. But I believe that you also said that the Rahaga had 1000 years to reverse the damage caused by the Visorak. What does that mean? 93) In the post that you made on BA #10, you said that Vakama refused the help of the other Toa in retrieving the Vahi. Are you saying that BA #9 ends with the Toa leaving Metru Nui, and BA #10 documents the tedious process of actually getting to Mata Nui with ~993 Matoran in tow?
101) No 112) Simply that 1000 years went by between when the Toa Metru left Metru Nui and when the Toa Nuva are returning in 2006. 123) No, 10 focuses on Vakama's efforts to recover the Vahi, not on the journey of the other Toa

1Hi Brothers i was asking Greg earlier today and here is the Answer i don,t know if you already know it but here it is:
2Question:
3Hi Greg i have a question:
4The Matoran do not eat like we do. instead, they absorb energy from fish(small ones, I'm guessing) and berries. things like those. but, after they 'eat' Greg has not told us, and doesn't want to, what happens to whatever they 'ate'. I have a question about it:
5Do the Matoran arbsorp the energy by holding it in they hands or do they do it with the mouth or how do they do.
6Answer:
7My feeling is that they would do it by physical contact through their hands. It would make no sense to do it via mouth, because there is no need to -- they don't need to take the food inside them and digest it like we do.
8So if I gave you a fish, for example, you would touch it - absorb the energy from it -- and then the fish would still be there, it just wouldn't have any more usable energy for anyone to absorb. It would most likely be skinned and gutted and the bones used for fine tools or ornamentation. Anything that couldn't be used would be disposed of.

I said nothing about them being insect or reptile based. 164c) I cannot discuss 2006 product -- don't bother asking. 175) Yes 186) Don't remember offhand, it hasn't come up 197) Sentrakh has no dialogue in the book.

1I got another answer from GregF:
2Mr. Farshtey 3In the Sentrahk Bio (here) it says: Sentrakh's powers are illusion, darkness, molecular transmutation, mind wipe, and his spinner power is dematerialization. What do molecular transmutation and dematerialization mean?
4Thanks, 5:l: ~ :a:

61) Demateralization means he can make something intangible -- for example, he could turn a boulder intangible so all the rocks above it would fall right through it. 72)Molecular transmutation means he can turn one substance into another substance.

2I have heard that the Toa Hagah honor someone by wearing their masks. who is Iruini honoring? [Edited for spelling--use spell check next time, okay?

3Few points: 4-To answer your question, bomanga, we don't know who Iruini honors. But the thing is, the mask he wears is in the shape of a Great Kualsi. Norik's mask, however, looks like a Noble Kiril. And I don't believe that we're supposed to know who Norik honors either... 5-The Hagah aren't wearing other people's masks--they each have their own. The Hagah wear Kanohi that look like other people's masks. 6-Don't say "Haga"--LEGO is not legally allowed to use that name. And besides, it isn't official.
justhebus876
7So hi. Um, how long is Bionicle going to go? [Edited for spelling--use spell check next time, okay?

8-Well, Mr. Farshtey has stated that it will keep going as long as the toys keep selling. The toys are the heart of the entire franchise--the only reason that there are books, comics, movies, and [yes, really toothbrushes, beach towels, etc. is because there are the toys. When the toys stop selling (and BIONICLE has been LEGO's most profitable product line to date), LEGO will stop producing BIONICLE.
9Hope that answers questions. 10EDIT: More questions answered.

111) What would happen to the Kanohi if a Toa was wearing a Noble Kanohi before he/she gave up his/her Toa power and became a Turaga? 122) Can you tell us what the chute lurker's Rhotuka power is? 133) Are there any Rhotuka powers that you know of that we don't, and if so, how many?
141) You mean, if say, Tahu Nuva is wearing a Noble Hau Nuva when he sacrifices his power and becomes a Turaga? It would stay a Noble Hau Nuva. 152) Haven't decided yet 163) No, I don't think so.

3Yeah...Where from? I wonder, if he wears a noble Hau, will it become a noble Hau Nuva too? What about Jaller's mask? Will it change shape?
4Also, "Hagah" hasn't been added to the spell check yet. (I just used it, it was the only word that "wasn't correct.")

1Actually, here's my (totally unofficial; you've been warned) theory: 2-If, say, Vakama wore a Noble Huna when he turned into a Turaga (we all know that he didn't, but for the sake of argument...), the Huna would be left completely unchanged. 3-If Jaller turned into a Toa, his Noble Hau (we all know now that Jaller's Hau is actually noble) would turn into a Great Hau.

1First off, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to answer my last batch of questions, but, as the story progresses, I get new ones...
21. Why do the Toa Metru look different from the Toa Olda, considering they are both first stage toa?
32. Do the Rhotuka spinners have special powers, like the Kanohi and the Kanoka?
43. Do the Toa Metru have any different masks besides they're corrusponding ones (e.g. Vakamas Huna?)
54. Why does Lhikan have a different form of the Hau, when they are both just plain Haus?
65. If Huna, Mahiki, Matatu, Rau, Ruru, and Komau have great forms, do the Hau, Kaukau, Kakama, Pakari, Miru, and Akaku have noble forms?
7Thanks for the time:

91) Mainly because the Toa Metru figures have more points of articulation, and also because doing six more figures in 2004 that looked just like the six figures we did in 2001 would probably not have resulted in a lot of sales. 102) Yes 113) They could have, but they never had time as Toa Metru to collect and use different masks. 124) The shape of the Hau is determined by the carver, and they normally look the same so as to be readily identified. But Lhikan's Hau was made in a totally different place than Tahu's, at a different time -- styles change. 135) Yes. If the Toa Olda had become Turaga, their masks would have changed to a Noble form. Same thing will happen if they become Turaga Nuva.

14Well, this could lead to something, escpecially the "Turuga Nuva"....

1True, Sinatu, but that won't happen anytime in the near future--after all, the Toa will only transform into Turaga (if they transform at all) after Mata Nui is awakened, which nobody can see coming right now. And after all, too many transformations spoils the storyline...

1Yes jetslandingboard you right about the Toa will only transform into Turaga (if they transform at all) after Mata Nui is awakened, which nobody can see coming right now. but the Toa also have to sacrafice the Toa Power before they turn into Turaga Nuva.
