15) Actually, no, that hasn't been proven. The Matoran named the Iden the Iden, because they don't realize their true nature. What to them is a "spirit" to us would simply be their AI.

2How could an AI separate from its body and fly around like a ghost though?

3Do the agori have souls?

4In bionicle, is AI equivalent to regular intelligence?

1Hi Greg,

2Two questions...

31.  In the Destiny War serial, there was a passage regarding some short pale bipeds with yellow eyes that look completely organic to Helryx, if I remember correctly.  Could you elaborate on who/what these beings are for me?  Or are they just some nameless rahi that were relatively unimportant to the story?  I don't think the serial ever made it clear what they were.  (Humans?  Just kidding, I know you've debunked that theory many times over)

42.  Also, did you, Christian Faber or anyone involved in Bionicle ever have a fixed design of what you envisioned the Great Beings would look like?  If so, would you describe their general appearance (other than Velika, as he is only a Great Being's mind inside a Matoran body)?  Or, did just no one on the Bionicle story dev team ever decide on what they ought to look like, and the Great Beings were just kept as mysterious beings working in the shadows?

5Thanks for your time; as a fan from year one, I truly appreciate it.

1Sorry to bother you again, but I just saw your last post and was hoping to get a bit of clarification for BS01. When you say Makuta can't be revived on the RS because they're made of Antidermis, does this mean Antidermis of any form can't be revived, or does this only apply to Makuta because they lack a body? If the latter, what do you think might happen to dead Kraata (presumably if they were beamed to the RS, their Rahkshi armor wouldn't go up with them)?

2It applies to antidermis in general.

51) Simple. In our world we have things like wireless and Cloud and other ways that data can be sent through the air, so why would AI doing that be a problem?

62) I am not even sure I want to get into a metaphysical discussion, since it really touches on religion ... all I can say is Agori are basically the same as we are.

73) What do you mean by "regular intelligence"?

61) I really don't recall, it was ages ago that I wrote that.

72) To the best of my knowledge, nothing existed that depicted a GB, because there had never been plans to reveal them. That might changed for 2011 or later, I don't know, but as of 2008 when the cancellation announcement was made internally, we had not done any work on that.

3May 20th, 2014.

41.) But that always includes both a recieving end and a sending end. the sending end of course is the toa/otherbeing using the mask, but then the soul/sentient-data-thing isn't going anywhere. i'm not disputing you, i'm just trying to understand exactly what's going on with that. (wait... MU inhabitants like matoran are sentient, right?)

52.) Understood. although seeing how this is a fantasy universe, you could just say they have whatever you wish them to have/not have w/o getting into any real world religion.

63.) the stuff that you and I have, and apparently the agori, judging from #2. In the real world, AI is far from being close to human intelligence. but if the matoran/toa/makuta/etc are sentient, then their AI would have to be equivalent, right?

1bionicle.wikia.com says that Tahu rescued the Toa Mahri from the enslavement of the gold skinned skakdi fusion... I know that site isn't always correct seeing as anyone can edit it, but I don't remember reading that in any of the serials. Was this confirmed somewhere else? If so, how, and what were the circumstances surrounding that rescue?

71) I used the human science thing as an example, but remember, Earth scientific law does not apply to BIONICLE. Basically, it works because it works.

82) Somebody would turn it into a religious argument. Trust me.

93) They are sentient as well as sapient. However, again, you have to consider that AI in BIONICLE may be well advanced of what we think of as AI. We know a lot of what they are capable of in terms of intelligence and emotion.

1 Would the way velika transferred himself into a matoran body be the same method that the red star brings people back to life with? (Wait, who does the actual bringing back? The kestora?)
2What would happen if velika had died in Mata nui? Same as anyone else?

1I know that the location of Voya Nui was sometimes called "The Daggers of Death" or "Island of Doom". Since "Nui" means "great" (as in Metru Nui =Great City, Karda Nui = Great Heart), what might "Voya" mean?

1Do you remember why the Dark Hunter Phantom was cut from Bionicle: Dark Hunters? And do you remember what Phantom's model looked like (I understand you had pictures of the model some way or another), e.g. his colors?

1Hi Greg!
2First of all I would really like to thank you for all the patience and kindness you are expressing by answering all our questions.

3Said that, I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask you:

41) You said that the decision to end BIONICLE was cleared in 2008, but for what reason? Low sales? If this was the case, when did they become low enough to justify the end of BIONICLE?

52) Multiple times it was reported that there were scheduled BIONICLE movies for the years 2010 and 2011. Does this mean that the end of the franchise came even earlier than you first expect?63) The BIONICLE Stars were the last set we had. Have you ever seen any prototype depiction of the sets that would have come out in 2010 and eventually 2011? Faber said in his blog that sets were made two years in advance.

74) Why did Toa Nidhiki became Toa Iruini?

85) What is the biggest story element you had to scrap? I mean, just for example, was Mahri Nui first intended to be a Los Angeles inside Mangai Volcano?

1Greg:

2Do you think Bionicle will EVER EVER EVER come back?

3Please say yes...Crying
