1Can Destiny be percived as an objective that was preprogrammed in every being in the MU by Great Beings?

2BTW thanks for all that you're doing here, Greg. You're the best! Happy

3That's a really good question. Rather than give you an off the hip answer, let's discuss it.

4THIS. YES. i've been thinking about this for a while, mostly in relation to matoran becoming toa, but was unsure of how to express it.

5I think the straight answer would be no.

6discussing that, destiny is something that was a huge part of bioncile, & the reasoning behind lots. but there's no way that the great beings(or MN...mostly, anyway) could have ensured that certain things would happen certain ways... i.e the toa inika. why them? what if macku and onepu had gone with jaller instead of hahli and nuparu? (those were the original 6 matoran sold as sets in 01... why the swap out with those 2, Mr. Farshtey?) Anyway, i think each matoran is created the same... like there aren't a pre-determined population that can become toa, while others will never be able to.

7let's look at takua... in the toa empire AU, he clearly wasn't destined to become a toa. and in the main one, what if the OoMN took someone else to metru nui? would they have not been able to become the toa of light? i think he/she would have the same potential, if they were adventurous enough.

8another way of saying all that is that your actions, and the resulting circumstances, determine your destiny, i think. as an example of this, let's revisit the toa inika: their decision to seek out the toa nuva determined their destiny to become toa. whoever had gone to voya nui would have become toa... if jaller stayed behind and kapura went instead, i don't think kapura would have not been able to become a toa.

1what was one the inside? circuitry and machinery, or just solid protosteel all the way through?

1Is Varian still captive in stasis on Odina, or was she broken out somehow during either the great catacylsm or makuta's death?

2I would assume she would be found eventually by a salvage crew.

3for her BS01 page, could we say that she was found then, or should we say that she's still in stasis?

1Is makuta armor hollow, or is there something on the inside?

2It would have to be a solid shell, not a hollow shell, or it couldn't stand up to damage.

3what was inside? circitry and machinery or was it just a solid chunk of protosteel all the way through?

1 Another question that's been bugging me. I know that Mata Nui created the Makuta, Vortixx, Skakdi, and the Barraki, but just how many species in the GSR were created by the Great Beings and how many were made by Mata Nui?

1Could we talk about the "element" of psionics? specifically its status as an elemental power... it doesn't seem like an element. water, fire, earth, air, light, plants, etc. make sense - those are all physical elements of the world. but "mental energy" doesn't really fit the definition of an "element". also, the abilities granted by this power are somewhat disconnected, and don't really fit the definition of what a toa can do with their elemental power, and how they do it. i've a little idea/theory that psionics is the result of a lack of elemental power... the matoran species (matoran, toa, turaga) was granted psionics abilities, but most of these are replaced with a given element, such as water or ice. when ce-matoran become toa, the lack of elemental power is just compensated by a plethura of other powers, including telekinesis, mindreading, invisibility, etc. This makes sense b/c control over "mental energy", as it's described, wouldn't give someone the ability to turn something invisible, which has been shown as a "psionics" ability. In toa who have an elemental power, you can see the vestigal remains of their psionics powers in their ability to form a mental link with another being... like gali did with takua on two different occasions. People (matoran, toa, etc) are either unaware of the true nature of psionic powers, or if they are, the still go by the status quo that simply calls them "toa of psionics".

1You've said you never decided on either mask or tools for the toa featured in the yesterday quest... for Orde, may i suggest a kanohi hau? due to his psionics powers, which arguably are less effective in combat as some other powers...(as detailed by varian) he wears a hau to better protect himself.

2for zaria, may i suggest a kanohi kakama? it was said that he smashed a makuta... the reason he was able to do so w/o being destroyed first himself was that, as stated by pohatu, speed is one of the few powers a makuta doesn't have.... so during the fight, in conjuction with his elemental powers acting on the makuta's armor, he was able to win b/c of his mask, and unfortunately, he didn't have a choice about the makuta's fate.

1BS01 says that the toa of gravity killed by lariska was revived in the red star... which makes sense, but why was he killed in the first place if was just going to come back as if he never died?

2You could say that about anyone who died, though, right?

3Simple answer -- the red star was designed to replace "nanotech" that had broken in the robot. No one knew at the time it was made that the beings in the MU were going to become self-aware, have conflicts, have wars, break into good buys and bad guys, etc.

4Think of it this way -- you buy a smartphone and it comes with a special accessory that automatically replaces any component that breaks down or burns out. Are you sitting there thinking, "But what if the phone components have a civil war? What if one component tries to take over the phone?" No, you're not, and neither were the Great Beings.

5meant from the dark hunter's point of view... why would they keep doing that to people if they knew their targets would just come back as if they were never gone?

1What's the difference between the Shattering, Disintegration, and Molecular Disruption powers that the Makuta wield?

3i'm not sure "smashed" a makuta is the most accurate word choice there... i think that part was edited by the mods.

4perhaps "eliminated" would better fit.... -_-

1Last three questions :

21) Masks and Toa Tools of Chiara, Zaria and Orde were decided before the stopping of the serials? If yes, can you tell us what they are?32) Does the Mask of Speed apply to speedily using Elemental powers, or other powers? Does it make your brain work faster as well as your biomechanical parts?43) In some passages BIONICLE Adventures or BIONICLE Legends novels, the descriptions specified (or left supposed) that Kanohi Nuva of Toa Nuva can move, literally showing emotions. This is canon? If yes, how it's possible?

51) No, they weren't. I don't come up with things until and unless I need it for story. I don't outline ahead of time.

62) No, it physically gives you super speed, like the Flash

73) The novels exist in the movie universe. If you have seen any of the movies, the masks move to show facial expressions, because there was no other way to show expressions in the films. Since some of the books were movie adaptations, the rest of the books also had to reflect that.

81&2) Okay.

93) I see. So, it's semi-canon or the possibiliity that the Kanohi Nuva are more or less expressive than a normal Kanohi exist?

103) In the movie and novel  universe, all masks can convey expression. In the comic universe, that is not the case, because the comics are based strictly on the toys.

113) And therefore what is the canonical version?

12By the way, in a former post on this chat, you had answered me this :13Q: "On BIONICLE movies, Kanohi restranscribe feelings of characters. Meanwhile, in your books, you suggest the face is under the Kanohi, and that he isn't animated. Which version is canon?"14A: "Mine is, basically."

15And you reply here "all masks" in your answer, but the normal masks have never been expressed emotions in your books and you affirme this in the past. I'm confused ^^'

1Are you allowed to have an "ask greg" tumblr? I've seen a few of these pop up recently...

1 3) And therefore what is the canonical version?

63) Both have to be considered official, they are simply different artistic approaches to the same story.

74) What do you mean by "normal masks? Because the characters in the second, third and fourth movies that wore Kanohi all showed facial expressions, and the novelizations of those movies would also have referred to facial expressions.
