1Hey, Greg. Here are a few questions of my own as well as those of some friends on the Custom Bonkle Wiki:

21. Is Tobduk’s species divided into seven tribes based on their Emotional Powers or the seven basic emotions (anger, contempt, fear, disgust, happiness, sadness, and surprise) with subtribes and sub-subtribes being the more specific emotions?

32. Was the intended purpose of the Krana to perhaps ensure total obedience/override existing objectives in early Matoran laborers? If so how did the Awakening affect this programming?

43. Can the Kanohi Rau allow the bearer to interpret a subject's body language in any capacity?

54. Can you in fact confirm that Nuhrii carved both Jaller's and Kopeke's Kanohi Komaus and that his poor craftsmanship was the reason they both cracked?

65. Where do the Masks on Karzahni come from?

76. Can the Spear of Fusion serve as an alternative way to create Toa Kaita?

87. When reading through the Bara Magna saga, it's hard not to recognise the typically western struggle between civilization and the wilderness. As a writer, did you take influence from any Westerns?

91) Not to my knowledge, no.

102) No. In addiiton to directing the Bohrok, the krana were there to pacify any obstacles to their job.

113) No

124) I don't think that's a theory I ever heard before

135) They were probably originally some form of payment sent to Karzahni in return for his repairs.

146) No

157) I am often influenced by Westerns. The first science-fiction novel that I wrote back in the '90s was written while listening to the soundtrack of Hang 'Em High. A lot of s-f stories are just high-tech Westerns.

1We know that Matoran eat and sleep, and I'm pretty sure Toa/Turaga do as well. This raised an interesting point - the Toa Mangai's battle with the Kanohi Dragon was described to last for a month. How did they endure this when they had need for food and rest?

2Well, a battle that lasts for a month normally does not mean constant fighting. In our history, there are battles that have lasted for weeks before someone won. There are almost always down times when soldiers can catch a few z's or eat their rations, because both sides need that.

3Are you insinuating that a massive city-destroying dragon took breaks as it fought the Toa Mangai?

4I think it's more along the lines of

  1. 5Mangai fight Dragon
  2. 6Mangai + Dragon get tired (and possibly injured); Mangai can't retreat, obviously
  3. 7Dragon is injured, retreats and finds somewhere else it likes
  4. 8Mangai Rest + Recover
  5. 9Dragon attacks elsewhere
  6. 10Mangai follow and loop restarts

11At least that's how I see it. Joking

12Not even a dragon can fight continuously for weeks and weeks. Unless it was a pure robot, which it's not, it's going to need to rest and eat like anyone else. Think about it -- a lot of armies that have surrendered in history have done so because they ran out of food and were sufficiently outnumbered that they had no chance to rest.

1Well, probably my last post on here, better make it a good one.

21) Was there any base model for Toa? The Metru style seems fairly popular.

32) Do you have any explanation as to what what Roodaka and Sidorak were talking about when they said "formalitites"?

43) Could a Toa Nuva make a Kaita or Nui with non-Nuva Toa?

5It's been a good run, see you around, guys. Wink

61) Not that I am aware of. How they looked was really a set designer thing.

72) I don't even recall that -- remember, that story was 11 years ago now.

83) No

1Wow, it's been YEARS since I've used my LEGO Account. But I figured since the forums are shutting down, I should pop on to say that I've been a big fan of yours and your work on BIONICLE. It was one of those things that was timeless to me, and growing up with it and the amazing story meant a lot. I know you'll probably appear again on something like the TTV forums, but I wanted to say here that you made such a positive impact on my life with your work, so thank you.

2If I might ask a few questions:31. I heard you finished the Powers That Be at some point; how might would we be able to see the end of that story? Could you post it on a forum or BioSector01?

42. Is Miserex the only surviving Makuta, or is it possible that any others found away to elude Teridax?

53. Have the Barraki continued their alliance with the Shadowed One on Spherus Magna?

64. What has Malum been up to all this time? Just chilling with the Vorox as he watches everything go down?

7And finally:85. Is there a character you wish you wrote more of during your time with BIONICLE?

9Thank you so much for all your time and effort into the world of BIONICLE and this forum!

10Buried, I think. I discovered you hadn't finished the Powers that Be, so feel free to ignore question 1. Although I would be curious as to where you would post the stories in a hypothetical case.

11Thanks again!

121) I wouldn't have anyplace to do it, at this point. I can't post on a non-LEGO site unless it has an age verification system and I have permission from LEGO Social Media, and this site won't be around anymore.

132) Yes, he is

143) Not at this point, no

154) Malum is not welcome in polite society right now.

165) Not really, no. The couple that I really liked I tended to write about a lot and then people got sick of them Smile

1Here's an important question for you, Mr. Farshtey:

2Team Iron Man or Team Captain America?

3It's an interesting question. I had an issue with Cap just wantonly breaking the law based on nothing but a gut feeling, because very little that Bucky had done recently justified that. At the same time, any policy being promoted by Thunderbolt Ross is probably a bad one, plus Iron Man's reaction did seem to have a lot more ot do with guilt over Ultron than anything else. So I guess I would lean toward Cap in the end.

1You have confirmed years ago that Bomonga is the deputy leader of the Toa Hagah.

2When the Toa Hagah were mutated into Rahaga, Bomonga remained the deputy leader or did Norik choose another Rahaga to be the deputy?

3There wouldn't be a reason to make a change that I can see.

1My questions seem to have been skipped over, so I'll ask them again, all in one place. I probably won't get another chance, as the message boards change to read-only soon.

21. What was the ratio of Krana to Bohrok? I mean, there was definitely more Krana than Bohrok, but how many more? My guess is 8 krana for every one Bohrok, but that's just a guess.

32. A while ago, I asked about Takanuva's ressurection at the end of Mask of Light. At the time you had no answer and turned to the fans for help, in a manner similar to a 'Marvel No-Prize'. Did we ever get an answer on that?

43.Could a Kanohi Mohtrek send a message into the past by carving words onto their past-self's armor?

54. During 2006, you used a Jaller prototype as a basis for his in-fiction appearance. Said prototype had two Energized Flame Swords, so my question is, how did it hold both the swords and a Zamor Launcher?

65. On a similar note to question 4, how did the Nuparu prototype you used in 2007 hold his shield, Aqua Blaster Blade, and a Cordak Blaster?

76. What was the purpose of Rahi in the MU? What did they do to help Mata Nui function properly?

8Buried

1 These questions have been buried several times, I hope you can answer them this time...
21) You once suggested that maybe the reason Vakama didn’t know his mask power despite being a Mask Maker might have been because it was a Kanohi acquired in trade wich was not Metru Nui-styled. In fact, the Metru are the only Metru Nui Matoran shown in visual media having great-shaped versions of their Kanohi. So, what if the reason that Vakama didn’t know his mask power and those of his brothers was that all of them were acquired in trade and were not in the usual style of Metru Nui? Are you fine with this being the official explanation?32) You said that the GBs came from different tribes. Can we say that at least one Glatorian from each tribe that was still active when they started ruling SM was a GB? Excluding the Rock Tribe because they didn’t have Glatorian species members.43) Velika would punish the Earth Tribe if he took over SM, right?54) If Q3 is correct, when you say that Velika might want to recruit the ELs as lieutenants, that does not include the ELoE, right?65) You once said that part of Velika’s plan involved the zombified MU inhabitants on the RS, (page 775, post 3) could you elaborate on that?76) From one of your recent answers, it seems that Annona has no gender, and that people can see “her” both as male and female. This seems to contradict some of your earlier answers, in wich you said that Annona was in fact female. So, for clarification, is “she” genderless or female?87) Did Mata Nui ever observe a specimen of Annona’s species during his travels?98) Just for confirmation, was the Fire Entity made with viruses and protodermis, and does it have at least some biomechanical componenents?

1Alright, cool! Wait, so did Jaller then replace his Arthron with Lhikan's Hau, or no?

2I doubt it. With his modified Arthron he can breath underwater, with the normal ornate Hau, he couldn't.

1 bye greg.

1Can Baterra transform into living beings like animals or Glatorian?

6Cheers Greg! I appreciate the info, it's cool to see you remember this stuff years after you finished. If I could ask a few more:

71. I haven't been able to find a citation but lots of people seem to think it, so could we please get confirmation that Icarax used to wear the Mask of Scavenging before the Kraahkan?

82. How are the Metru Nui Turaga reacting to Spherus Magna? Do they have a particular place in society, and how is Vakama doing now that his tormentor is gone?

93. Do you have a favourite Piraka (Nektann included), Barraki and Makuta (sans Teridax)?

104. Do you imagine the G2 Mask of Creation looking like what Artakha would wear in G1?

115. Is there a moment you wrote in any medium that hit home to you in parcitular?

12Thanks again!

134, He wrote the mask's description in the Reign of Shadows: "His mask was the most ornate anyone had ever seen – more than just a Kanohi, it was a true work of art. The metallic protodermis from which it was forged was arranged in intricate patterns and designs, each reflecting one of the many cultures that flourished in the universe. The eye slits were angular and pointed, giving him an air of both wisdom and a vague sense of menace."
