I know that gas prices are but would it ever be a possibility to combine the Toa with its matoran kinda like what they did with Mutran and Vican? I would rather do that rather then buying a Canister and a small boxed set.

Thank you, Greg

If this doesn't put the matter to rest, I don't know what will.

For the record, I love having Bionicle around enough that if the prices must raise to keep it going, then so be it. As long as you guys at LEGO keep it Interesting. :P

This won't affect me much, I'll only buy vehicles, so I don't need to change any patterns.

Also, faq + underscore = lulz

As for the suggestion that we use cheap plastic for packaging -- basically, then the package will look and feel cheap, which will make people assume the product inside is cheap and poor quality as well.
Greg
Then use boxes.
Save money.
90% (made up statistic) of the other sets are, and they work, don't they? Obviously, because Lego still uses them.

Just make the pictures colorful and bright, have a good design team, and there you go.

...And make sure there are big recycle signs.
Big enough to cover the entire back should be about right, if not too small.

Recycling is so hippie.

Metal Canisters and extra dense pieces FTW!

Yes, I agree completely.
Why not recycled boxes.

Actually I would support turning the canisters into boxes, the only reason the canister sets came in canisters in the first place was because of the story, and the canisters these days don't have any story function, so yeah, wouldn't mind if it would reduce the prices, not that I particularly care since I probably won't continue next year. :P

:m: :e: :c: :a:

Right, right. But it's not too much of a price increase, right? Only $3.

Still, I have to say that I'm glad LEGO is raising prices instead of decreasing the quality of the sets.

You should really put spaces in between F A Q.

It doesn't look right on the entry links. >_>

I'm just glad Bionicle survived 7 more years than intended.I'll continue to suport the line even if prises increase in my country.

Yeeeahhhh not so good.

I love how the US fans are making such a big deal of this. Newsflash! The rest of the world has been going through this for ages.

Karzahni's Servant -- It's simple. Compare the price of oil now to the price of oil in 2001 when we did the Mata. To do a set with the same number of pieces as the Mata costs way more now than it did then. That's what inflation is all about -- you pay more for the same item. There aren't any extra pieces of bread in a loaf now than there used to be, but the loaf that cost me $1.50 a couple years ago costs $2.50 now.

On the packaging issue -- I have no doubt they are looking into whether doing cardboard boxes for the sets would make sense or not.

That's actually not a bad idea. Why not?

Because with all the whining and related Kane-Ra feces we had to put up with over the Mahri canisters, I don't know if there will be enough people agreeing with it. Oh, sure, you can put the pieces in the box, taking apart the set a bit to do so, but it's sooooooo much trouble to do so, even moreso to keep from ripping your precious cardboard while opening the box and removing whatever tape it might have. <_<

Q. I live outside of the US. Are my set prices going to go up too? A. As far as I know, the answer is no. Prices in the US were lower than they should have been for years, which is why we have to do this increase. Customers in, say, Canada were already paying higher prices, so we don't need to increase theirs.

will not increase? WILL NOT INCREASE? HERE NOW A SIMPLE CANISTER SET COST 90 PESOS !!!!!! (30 USD) AND AXALARA WILL COST 600 PESOS!!! (300 USD), sure, the mistika dont come now, they will come here to december in argentina

Let say that Oil Prices went down. Would Bionicle prices go down?
Original#37
Probaly....Yea they would...I hope.
Original#38
I'd hope so, but I don't see oil prices coming down anytime soon. I am hearing $200 a barrel by 2010, with $7 a gallon gasoline.
