Some comic, book, movie updates today:

1) The first full-length chapter book in 2009 should hit stores around June.

2) There will be at least three Level 3 readers next year.

3) Plans are for five comics next year, same size as this year. We will start with a new issue #1, which is already written.

4) Story will flow like this -- January comic, March comic, then the first chapter book, which will lead into the July comic. So the chapter book will not duplicate story from the comics or vice versa.

5) On a disappointing note, November 2008 will be Leigh Gallagher's last issue. Leigh has a lot of projects going on and felt that he did not have the spare time to devote to BIONICLE, so he has bowed out. We have already named a replacement, with an eye toward maintaining a similar style to Leigh's, and I will share his name as soon as DC gives me clearance to do so.

6) First draft of the 2010 screen treatment is out in Billund with the story team for approval. I have a conference call on Monday with the movie folk to discuss it. Almost certainly a second draft will be needed, but we'll see how harsh the rest of the team is about it :)

Sounds awesome. I sorta like the new style of comic/book.

Too nad Leigh is leaving, I like his art a lot.

Also good news those of the book. Do you think that with that schedule they'll sell more?

Also, as the time passes, I'm more excited to see how 2009 will be...

I'm so said Leigh's leaving, he really drew some of the best comics in my time.

I've always wanted the comics to follow storyline, not just a gist of the books. So I thank you.

Drat. Just when we think we've found an artist to duplicate Elliot/D'Anda, he leaves. :(

Aw, Leigh was awesome :-/ At least we have one more comic from him to go :) But, hey, we haven't seen the enw guy's style, he may just be similar as Greg says, so I trust this decision to be good :)

Don't know how long the chapter books will be yet - I have an okay to make them a bit longer if I want to, but may not have the time to do so. We'll see how it flows once I get writing. It took me a while to find a "voice" I liked for the 2009 material -- so I am kind of calling on the style I used back when I did River of God way back when.

To bad Leigh's leaving. His art was awesome.

I like the way you make it Comic 1-Comic 2-Book 1-etc. Although I don't like how there are only two books and the first one's gonna be realeased in June. Oh well, perhaps the movie will bring sales up and there'll be lots of books again.

I have high expectations for the new comics and books, though. :)

Don't know how long the chapter books will be yet - I have an okay to make them a bit longer if I want to, but may not have the time to do so. We'll see how it flows once I get writing. Please do Greg. My siblings, friends, as well as myself really disliked the "Sayger Skeletons", Gallagher was a breath of fresh air for us.

Aww, I liked Leigh... Well, while we're at it, let's get a new colorist. If we're gonna have a 2001-feel we'll need more vibrant colors.

Oh, and hooray for all-new story in the chapter book. This is what I've been wanting for years!
