1Sorry to bother you, but one issue has been bugging me for some time now.
2Did Botar know that the Pit's dome was broken?
3If so, why did he send Brutaka there? Did he know that Brutaka would escape?
4Sorry if I got some facts wrong...

5No, he doesn't. He just drops them off and leaves.

6No wonder everyone's getting out. Botar just might get fired. :P

The Order of Mata-Nui

11. Roodaka can basically shapeshift, right? Because she has the mutation Rhotuka, but she can control what something turns into. So she could use it on herself and transform into anything she wanted, then just transform back. Or is she immune to her own Rhotuka?
21) We have never seen her use it on herself, so my guess is she can't.

3Well, I posted this here a lot of time ago, but to help with Greg's answer:
4My question: Now, a storyline question (Or theory): I suppose Roodaka is inmune to her own spinners, otherway she would mutate herself to be more powerful; my other theory is that she can't make other beings transform into a monster more powerful than her, otherway she could mutate herself. I suppose the right one is my first; is that correct? 5His answer: Actually, no character can use their spinner on themselves.
62) Rhotuka spinners don't cut across species. It is formed from your own will, so a hundred residents of Xia would likely have 100 different powers.
7I suppose he's referring to intelligent species, since we know of Rhotuka that cut across species -- Cable Crawler's vertigo spinner, Colony Drones' spinner that feed the Visorak, and so on. 8Khote

1I have some interesting information about Nocturn in these questions:
2Hiya Mr. Farshtey: I have some questions from my brother today today:
31) Do you watch Heroes?
41b) If not, then why?
51c) If yes, who's your favorite chacter?
62) Do you like Transformers?
72b) If not, then why?
82c) If yes, then who's your favorite Transformer?
9Now onto my Bionicle quetsions:
101) Can you reveal any of Nocturn's powers?
112) Can you give me a Nocturn qoute?
123) Did the Barraki give Nocturn a Squid launcher? Or is it just a set thing?
134) What does Nocturn do when he's not acting as Ehlek's liuetennant?
145) Is Nocturn stronger than Ehlek?
156) If Axonn, Brutaka and Botar would team up to fight Makuta, would they win?
167) What is the Kardas going to do now that the Ignika isn't on Vezon's head anymore? Will it just wander around?
178) What will Vezon do now that the Ignika isn't on his head anymore? Will he leave Voya Nui?
189) Why doesn't Nocturn wear a Mask?
1910) In the set of Nocturn, it shows he has four arms. Does he really have four arms in the story?
2011) Is Nocturn the only member of his specis?
2112) Who would win? Pridak or Zaktan?
22That's all for now. From, Toa Nuhrii: Toa of Sugar.
231) No. I missed the first few episodes and I don't like coming into a series in the middle, so I may just get the first season DVDs when they come out. 242) I never got into Transformers. They didn't start getting sold in the US until 1984, and I was 19 at that point and not really into toys.
251) Outside of enormous strength, I haven't given him any. 262) There is one in the Barraki revealed topic in S&T, under the Pridak entry 273) They did give it to him, yes 284) Hangs out at a place called the Razor Whale's Teeth, which is a rock formation 295) Physically? Oh, yes 306) It might be close -- fighting three such powerful opponents at once would be hard for even a BOM member 317) It goes up to the surface of the island and fights Tahtorak 328) He will probably try to get it back 339) Because he doesn't have the mental discipline to use it. Same reason Krekka did not wear a mask. 3410) Yes 3511) No 3612) Probably Zaktan, because you can't bite someone who keeps dissolving into a swarm.

37Interesting.
38Vezon wants the Ignika back: But what for?

#7124
1I assume you haven't read Inferno, right? 2Khote
#7125
1Yes, I haven't read Inferno. Why do you ask?
#7126
1It explains why Vezon wants the Ignika back, and also why he would've slammed Matoro's head into a wall, had "Invasion" not been dropped for next year.
2Despite his insanity, it's a good reason. :P
#7127
1Here's a question that could disprove a few theories. Enjoy:
2Just a quick one, after reading your post about the whole Toa of Ice dealio.. Could it be possible that when Matoro gets a new mask, he switches with a Toa (from the first team maybe) and the Toa now has Matoro's Iden and vice versa. Now you said that Makuta could travel underwater a bit, so here comes Makuta, and while this Toa is experimenting with the mask's power, Makuta takes over this Toa's body and battles Karzanhi with it.. Could something like this be possible?

3No. Makuta will not be in a Toa body when he fights Karzahni, and the member of the first Toa team will most likely not meet Matoro or any of the Inika.

1QUOTE 2Hello Mr. Farshtey sir: I have some questions:
31) I know you said you are not revealing much about the Tryna but, if it reanimates the dead then you pretty much have an unstoppable army at your command correct? Because, if you kill a reanimated soldier, you can just bring it back to life.
42) Is it true the BOM lives on the surface world?
53) Where has Vezon gone?
64) Is the Spear of Fusion really broken beyond repair?
75) In the Carapar info, you used the term "foodstuffs". Why?
86) Who is Xia currently allied with?
97) Did Takadox personally kill the OOMN member that was the Pit jailer or did he hypnotize Carapar into doing so?
108) Does Ehlek hate the Mahri Nui Matoran because their island crushed the fortress he built?
119) When the Pit sank underwater, did the prisoners have to remain in a few isolated spots of air until the mutagen took affect and mutated them to water-breathers?
1210) What does Nocturn do at the Razor Whale's Teeth? Are Razor Whale's there?
1311) Did Tahtorak kill the Zivon while he was in the Zone of Darkness?
1411b) If not where did the Zivon go? I doubt it would run away.
1512) Can Botar teleport other people while not physically in contact?
1612b) If so, why does he wait for someone to be defeated? He could just "poof" them into the Pit.
1713) What would Amphibiax do if he saw Ehlek again?
1813b) What would Ehlek do if he saw Amphibiax again?
1914) Did Amphibiax loose his hand as punishment from Ehlek or any other Barraki?
2015) Why is Nocturn Ehlek's lieutenent(sp.)?
2116) Will the Makuta/Karzahni battle have any storyline signifigance or is it just for fun?

1I have a few more, haven't PMed Greg in a while. :)

2hi, i just have a few:
31- since the barraki eat the 'human way', what happens to the fish? a certain 'human attribute' comes to mind... :???:  41) I see no reason to go into this 52- are the fish the barraki eat organic? 62) Mostly, yes 73-since nocturn is out on the market, can we have a summary of pwers, history and a quote of him? (sorta like what you did with the barraki) 83) There already is a quote of his in the Barraki Revealed topic, under Pridak. And beyond enormous strength, he has no powers 94-are there any hydruka powers we dont know of? 104) No 115- what kind of matoran is sarda? 12b- is he going to be a set? 13c- is 'sarda' a play on words, considering it sounds a lot like sardine? 145) No, Sarda came from our old list of approved names. And I am not releasing info on him until Book 6 is out, but I do think he will be in a set later in 2007.
156-will the member of the 1st toa team have any roles in the books/comics/web? 16b- what is 1T's element? 17c-is it an element we have/have not heard of? 186)Role will most likely be on the web, and no, it is not a new element 19thanks a lot: 20~(future user name)~

21well, I think it's purty interesting.
22Greg obviously didn't want to talk about #1. any theories? *sarcasm*
23forget new elements for 1T.
24I see now that quite a few people beat me to the bunch on Nocturn's, uh, un-powers.
25Sarda might be a set, but it isnt a play on words. hmm. some coincidence. or they just chose those that sounded like 'fish-words' and, well, yeah, i basically just made my point without realizing it.

1Here's a few:
2Okay, several questions.
31.Was Carapar ever a species we know of? 42. Was Nocturn Ehlek's lieutenant before or after the Barraki were thrown into the Pit? 53.Do Krahka and Tahtorak actually have any storyline significance, or did they just return for the fight with Kardas? 64.Did you decide to have Tahtorak fight some of the largest Rahi (Zivon, Kardas)? 75.Will Tahtorak fight any more Rahi? (The Dweller in the Deep?)
8That's all, thanks.

91) No 102) Can't answer it at this time 113) They may have story significance later on or they may not, but the only way that could happen is if I got them out of the zone of darkness -- so I did 124) Well, he is the best qualified to do it 135) Right now, I have no long-term plans for Tahtorak. Also, a fight like that wouldn't make much sense, as Tahtorak would drown

14Not very helpful, but it means there's something important about Nocturn.

5Would be the most clear explanation, I mean lego does not want toys who need to get to the bathroom, so digesting EVERYTHING would be the best option. 6Not very important to know how they digest tough

1Heh, I just wanted to say your awesome. Not because you're giving us info or writing the books. But for actually devoting the time to be doing all of it. You're pretty cool Greg. 2Thank you.

5Thanks, Pridak.
6My favorite author is a guy named Jeffery Deaver who writes mysteries. I like his writing because it sounds like he is just talking to you, and I can't write that well. Best way to write better is to read people who are better than you are.

7Hope this is allowed, at least now we know the authors favorite author. :)

1Ask a question, get an answer.

2Hello, Mr GregF. There has been a question that has been disturbing me for a while, so I thought I would ask you. 3Q: Is the BoM on Botar's hit-list? If yes, then why hadn't he apprehended the Makuta of Metru Nui? From what I've seen, he has been defeated quite a few times, so I've been wondering about that. Or did Mata Nui tell him to lay off the BoM? 4Oh, and have a Merry Christmas.

5Put simply, if the Botar (and the Order of Mata Nui) were to send any Brotherhood member into the Pit, the rest of the Brotherhood would be after Botar's head. And in seeking it, they would almost surely uncoverer the existence of the Order, which the Order does not want at this time.

1Hey everybody: My first post on this thread: Nothing special, but it may disprove some theories...
2QUOTE 3Hello. You don't know me, but I've been reading the BZP forums long enough to know you. I have a couple of questions:
41. Will we get to visit Artahka outside of the Atlas next year?
52. Since you're so cool, will you please tell me which island is called Destal?

61) Don't think so 72) Nope
#7145
1Hi Greg.
21. Why doesn't Hewkii find out his mask power?
32. Do all Rahkshi have the same kind of staffs and spines as the first six, or do they all have different ones? 42b Does each Rahkshi species have a specific spine design (like the gold Rahkshi and Vorahk have the same design, and Turahk and the orange Rahkshi have the same design), or can they have any design?
53. Can't an Elda be used to find other things, like a weapon, other than the MoLi?
64. There's two known versions of the MoLi. Is it possible that the second kind (shown here) is how it looked/looks before and it was/is fused to Vezon's head?
7That's it for now.

81) When? 92) They have different ones 102b) No idea, not something I have worried about 113) Not that we have seen, no 124) The Mask of Life has appeared in many different forms, not just two.

131. This year, I don't think Hewkii ever found what the Sanok does.

14I am sure he figured it out, when he was able to make shots he never could before. There simply was no "ah-ha" moment in the books because I had no room for it.

#7146
1Here are some questions that I recently asked Greg.

2Hi, I had a few questions I was hoping you could answer.
31. Do the colors of the squid ammo have any story line significance, or is it more like how creatures in this world come in different colors but are exactly the same otherwise?
42. Since the barakki are aquatic creatures now the air launches the new matoran carry would be harmful to them now right?
53. Since the toa canister sets this year wont use the squid ammo will there be a second collectable for the later half of the year?
64. Is the mask of life the only cure for the mutanigenic water?
7Thank you for your time, I hope you had a good christmas.

81) Hasn't been decided yet 92) Yup 103) There will be a second type of weapon, but no one has said anything to me about it being offered as an accessory pack 114) No one even knows if it is a cure, only that the Barraki hope it will be

#7147
11) How hard is it to remove an attached squid? 22) If they can already swim on their own, why would you need a launcher? 33) Do the blue ones in the extra ammo packs have different abilities from the yellow/orange ones? 44) Will the Mahri probably have squid launchers?
55) One thing not involving squids: In the Pit, do you have to swim to get around all the time, or is there solid ground to walk on that is easily reachable?
6Thanks in advance Greg:

71) Pretty hard 82) Launcher sends them quickly in the right direction -- they can swim on their own, but they're not that fast 93) I haven't decided yet 104) No, they will definitely not. 115) You can walk along the sea floor, if you go down that far, and of course Mahri Nui is on a solid slab of rock.

12BTW, Sarda was the name of a Sage who gave you a special item called the Earth Rod in the original Final Fantasy video game. Just a coincidence, but it's pretty interesting to me.
#7148
1Hiyah. I was just wondering about these organic creatures.
21. How long can one live?
32. How do they "come into being?"
43. Can you give me any good facts about next year's squid ammo?
5Thanks in advance.

6There seems to be a lot of interest on here with the idea of organics, so let me lay out the facts for you ...
71) The squid next year are organic. They are not native to the Matoran universe. 82) Nothing else organic plays any role in the story next year or in 2008. 93) Organic beings come into the world the same way they do here, biologically. 104) There isn't going to be a biomechanical-organics war -- that has never been what BIONICLE was about. 115) The idea of organics is not new with 2007 -- I believe a non-biomech sea bird was shown back in 2001, and of course, they were seen again in BA #5.
12Greg

13The matoran universe? Are they from a different universe?

14Sorry, universe was probably a poor choice of words -- I basically mean their "world" inside the domes. As you know, the Matoran are not meant to live outside the domes. The squid do not come from within the domes, they come from the water outside.

#7149
1Maybe I should add this....

2Hello, Mr GregF. There has been a question that has been disturbing me for a while, so I thought I would ask you. 3Q: Is the BoM on Botar's hit-list? 6Thanks a lot, Greg: But there is still a problem about that; ET and I discussed how the Barraki were sent to the Pit in this post. I'm not sure if either of them are right, but I assume that the second explanation is correct. If the second one is correct, then the BoM might have already seen Botar, and I doubt that they would let it slip from their minds. Could you clear that up? Also, how does Botar know when one criminal is defeated? Thanks again, Greg.

71) You are correct, they have seen Botar. But all Botar did in that case was remove a group that was annoying the BOM, so why would the BOM care enough to pursue it? If, for example, the dog-catcher came and picked up a dog that was keeping you up all night, would you feel compelled to track down the dog-catcher, find out who he is and where he brought the dog? No, probably not. If, on the other hand, he came and got your brother, you would be more interested in those things. 82) Just one of Botar's special talents
#7150
Master of Ice and Sonic

13. Can't an Elda be used to find other things, like a weapon, other than the MoLi?

23) Not that we have seen, no

3Well, from Power Play, page 50:
4"No, not Toa Nuva. Toa Inika." 5The name caught the other Toa by surprise, but it made sense -- inika was the Matoran word for "the energies of a star." No one reacted quite as much as Hahli, though. For a brief moment, the headache she felt intensified, and then it lessened almost completely. She allowed herself a moment of relief before wondering just what had changed. Was it the name Jaller had thought up, or was it the sight of the volcano in the distance that had caused the pressure on her mind to ease... or was it both? Almost as if in response, she felt a small joint of pain. 6Her hands flew up to her mask. As soon as she took it off, all the pain stopped. 7So it is the Kanohi, she said to herself. Yet it's not an attack, somehow I know that. No, the mask is trying to direct us. But where?
8So, the Elda not only reacted to the Ignika, but to the name as well. Is it for the similarity between Inika and Ignika? Or because the Toa found their team name? I think the Elda helps to locate things that are important to the achievement of the user's destiny. 9Just my personal theory, though :).
10EDIT:

12But how did they know that Botar was good? He could've very well been an ally of the Barraki, coming to save them just as Makuta did with Roodaka at the end of WoS. You know that the dog-catcher is helping the community, but if you beat a guy who has been destroying your house and harming your relatives, and some big, powerful looking being comes and takes him to who-knows-where, what would you think? I would question the beings motives, and just why he took my enemy away. Wouldn't you? 13Khote

5Not really. At least, I wouldn't. But a big guy harming your relatives isn't really how the BoM viewed the Barraki; from what Greg has said, they more viewed them as annoying obstacles. So if there was some sort of annoying thing that was just in the way from my personal plans and then some guy came along and removed it, I wouldn't really be that concerned with where it went or who that guy was. I'd just be happy it was gone.

1Hi Greg, I was entering the European Promos' Item No.s on the LEGO Replacement Parts section, and Set No. 8026 was labelled as "Kraatu".
2Is this an approved BIONICLE name? If yes, does it have any story bible mentionings? If not, why would LEGO do such a thing?
3Also some Q's about Voya Nui's geography...
41. I got an imported BIONICLE Annual for Christmas (And by the way, I once asked you what the "First Full-Length Chronicle" in it was, and you guessed it was Tale of the Toa, and guess what, you were right, of course ) They mentioned a place called "Cape of No Hope". Is this canonical?
52. There was nothing ever really mentioned about the Nui Caves. Do you think you could just give me a tidbit?
63. On this map of Voya Nui, it shows a sunken portion of land, calling it the Lost Land, AKA Mahri Nui. Hower, you and your books have stated that before Mahri Nui sunk, Voya Nui was more like an oval in shape, while the map shows a very small portion of land compared to the rest of the Voya Nui Bay. Is the tiny portion on the map correct, or is Mahri Nui taking up the whole Bay?
7Unrelated...
81. In the VNOLG, there is a Rahi called a Blocking Stone Guardian, or Ape, or something like that. Is this Rahi canonical?
92. For the video games, are the creatures seen in them first build as actual models by LEGO? Like, the Gafna, or Mahi, or the Rahi mentioned above, or Burnak, etc.?
103. Does Mahri have an official English translation yet? Does it mean "coast"?
114.How about Kardas?
125. What does "Mata" mean?
13Sorry, seems like a lot to me, but could you answer these?

14Not to my knowledge, no, but it might have been something Denmark provided which was simply never on my list.
151) Yes, it is 162) I believe the Nui Caves are featured in the animations on BIONICLE.com 173) I believe that "lost land" call-out is meant to refer to the entire bay, not just an isolated piece of land.
181) Not to my knowledge 192) No, they are created by the game designers 203-5) None of these have meanings I am aware of and/or can share

1Hello people: Some stuff on the OoM...
2Hey Greg: I have some questions on the Order of Mata Nui...
31. Was the Order responsible for placing the orginal Kanohi on Mata Nui? 41a. If so, then who told them to? 51b. If not, then did Makuta?
62. Does the Order of Mata Nui know the Red Star's secret? 72a. If not, does anybody?
83. Will we, as far as you know, ever meet the leader (aside from Mata Nui himself) of the OoM?

91) No. The Toa Metru brought the original Kanohi to Mata Nui. 102) No 112a) The Great Beings now 123) Too soon to tell

10I think it's because the Toa Inika found their team name. I think it was telling Hahli that Jaller picked the right name, or found it. This is my 100th post.

1So, then, the Elda couldn't be used to find the Vahi if Ancient got it? Dang.

2I dont think ancient can use kanohi.

3They mean someone wearing an Elda would find the Vahi if Ancient took it, however Ancient wouldn't be the one looking for the Vahi, it'd be Voporak. Oh well.

4I believe Kaita Nui was refering to the Dark Hunters Guide in which it says under Ancient's entry that he is currently teamed with Voporak to find the Vahi.

1Just some questions on random things.
2Hi, Greg. Some more questions I have for you.
31. (I'm guessing we will) Will we ever find out what the race that could've been prominent is?
42. Could you give some reasons why they din't become the prominet race?
53. In BL4, and in other books, the Makuta we know is referred to as the "Makuta of Metru Nui". Since the BOM used to be the protectors of the Matoran, did each Matoran-inhabited place have a Makuta that protected it?
63.b. Was the Makuta we know protector of Metru Nui?

71) You should, yes 82) No, I don't want to give the whole story away on BZP 93) Each region did 103b) Yes

11And another question on squids.
12Sorry to bug you again when you just answered my recent PM, but this just came into my mind.
131. I remember that the Matoran on Mata Nui had to absorb energy through plants, fruits, and animals they caught. Do the squids the Barraki shoot absorb their victim's life enrgy the same way?

14Basically, yes, they're vampiric

15Wow, vampiric squids.
