1More random questions containing SPOILERS:

2I'm running out of questions now, which you'll probably be glad to hear. These are just a couple I'd find interesting to know the answers to.
31: Which comic(s) did you enjoy writing the most and why? 41) I didn't have any particular favorite issues, really.
52: Would Makuta be strong enough to fully control the vahi, or would he have difficulties, like the toa? 62) I think anyone would have problems with that mask. 7Blimey: I didn't quite expect that answer.
83: Are the hordika's elemental powers weakened, increased or altered in any way? 93) Their means of accessing them are altered. 10Ooo: So the Toa might have to re-learn how to use their powers:
114: I know the vahi can speed up/slow down time, but can it stop or reverse time? And also, if you slowed down time to an almost halt around you and let it continue on its normal flow everywhere else, when you unfroze time wouldn't you have effectively travelled into the future? 124) First off, you can't use the Vahi on yourself, only on external targets. And no, it cannot reverse time .. it can slow down time to a total crawl, but not stop it. Also, if you could slow down time around yourself only, you would look to everyone else like you were standing still for years and years. They might build a cell around you or something. 13Aaaawww, you can't use it on yourself. :(
145: After LoMN, would Makuta have any use for the vahi? 155) I am sure he could find some use for it 16But nothing specific yet.
176: The Turaga brought the kanohi to Mata Nui, correct? Now great and noble masks were scattered and hidden, but when the noble masks were found the toa gave them to the turaga. Now why in the name of mata nui would the Turaga want to hide them if they were only gonna get them back? Surely finding the great masks would have been challenge enough for the toa, and would have proven their worth? 186) The Turaga didn't hide the Noble Masks. Those were stolen and hidden by Rahi. 19I can just imagine it now, a Nui Rama sweeping down and stealing a komau, and Vakama standing there, waving his staff around. "back with that, you fowl beast: Return that mask to me at once:"
207: Did Makuta know the locations of the kanohi, and if so, why didn't he get the rahi to steal them so the toa couldn't get them? 217) No reason to. He had no reason to think more Toa would ever show up, so it was enough to have the Rahi guard them. 22He always was too overconfident. :P
238: Can the Rahaga actually control the rahi, or do they just capture them and tame them or something like that? 248) No, they do not control them, anymore than a lion tamer really controls a lion. It's a mutual relationship. 25I knew it:
269: Were matoran aware of the existance of Rhotuka? 279) Not to my knowledge, no. 28Hmm, wonder who made them?
2910: About how many visorak would you say there are? 3010) Oh, hundreds easily. 31Woah: *hides*
3211: If a Toa can partially use a level 9 mask, why can a Turaga not partially use a level 8 mask? 3311) Cause he can't. Turaga don't have the ability to handle that much energy. It's like asking a retired, 55 year old ex-quarterback to take on the Patriots defensive line. 34So a Toa's power can extend to about 8.5 or sommat then, while a Turaga's is stuck on 7.0 I'd guess. That's my explanation, anyway.
3512: Do the Turaga have access to sources of knowledge other than Vakama's visions through which they can gain knowledge? 3612) Not at present, no. 37They really aren't as clever as we thought, eh?
3813: Was the reasoning behind the Turaga never telling the Toa everything about their quests and all that partly because they didn't know much more themselves? 3913) Yes. Also, true heroes find their own way.
4014: Can you give any hints as to what the Toa's reactions will be when the Turaga finish their tales? 4114) Shock, probably. 42*is hoping they'll hate the Turaga, but knows it won't happen*
4315: On Metru Nui, what would you say the Matoran thought of the bohrok? Did they have any clues as to what they might be for, or know anything apart from the fact that they and the krana existed? 4415) They had no idea what they were for. They were just mysterious artifacts in the Archives
4516: Can you give a rough estimate as to how long (in pages) the 'mystery book' next year will be? 4616) I would if I could, but I haven't written it yet so I don't know 47Well, asking undetailed questions like that to get info was worth a try. :P
4817: Do you get annoyed when people ask you the same questions? 4917) Not usually, no.
50Hmm, maybe it was slightly more than 'a couple of questions' then. Still, hope you find time to answer them, and keep up the great work with everything: And thanks for finding the time to answer everyone's questions here, I know that I and many others really appreciate that. ;)

1okay heres what i got:
2ok now i have a few weird things to ask:
3me:what are the visorak's powers and can you give me an example of how they would work in a certain place or time?

4greg:Not revealing those yet.
5comment:aw... how did anthane get one power outa greg?
6me:what would happen if the disk of time was merged with a disk of shadow or light?(i know there had to be i mean the mask of light and mask of shadow had to be made from kanoka all masks are)
7greg:We have no info on how the Mask of Light or Mask of Shadow were made, or where they were made, so we cannot say for certain they were made from disks.
8comment:man he completely ignored it because theres not really a disk of light or shadow as far as we know...
9me:were the rahaga ever bitten by visorak?
10greg:Actually, no
11comment:so they look like that always...
12me:is the cure to visorak venom the healing fruit found in the bionicle video game for gameboy advanced?
13greg:No
14comment:aw so close...
15me:if i were a toa what kind of an action would be great enough for me to use enough toa energy to become a turaga?
16greg:Well, so far we have seen it happen as a result of putting your energy into Toa stones and creating new Toa or using it to awaken a thousand Matoran.
17comment:i knew those ways i was trying to get greg to make an answer like with anthane(the toa anthane bit lol i woulda liked greg to do a toa shade bit)
18me:if you made your own toa what would they look like and what would there names and colors or elements/powers be?
19greg:No idea
20comment:man i woulda liked hearing whats gregs ideas on his own toa were.
21me:if humans ever got the tecknology to build a vahki would it be anything like the bionicle vahki?oh wait nevermind thats right you do not answer "what if" things...
22comment:yep he completely ignored this one no answer.
23me:who would win in a fight vakama metru or tahu olda?
24greg:I would give the edge to Tahu, because he has more experience
25me:the vahki and vahi having similer names is just lego's idea right?
26greg:Just the way things worked out. We have to use words that don't mean things in other languages.
27comment:i knew that but still they coulda thought of something more original.
28me:can you tell me the female villians name?
29greg:Nope
30comment:man and i woulda liked being able to call her something else then ms.baddy... lol.
31thanks for all the things you answer hope we do not bug you too much.
32Greg and SLOTSG.

33well some of these were interesting to know...

1I've got a few new quotes
2Me: Are we ever going to see the toa who worked with Lhikan
3Greg: Only if we have a further flash back.

4That one was interesting but there is another.
5Me:Are we ever going to learn about Nidhiki when he was a toa and what element did he have?
6Greg: Only if we have another flashback which doesn't seem likely considering the fans want to go back to the toa nuva. From his coloring he looks like he might have been a toa of air.
7Those seemed interesting its hard to believe Nidhiki might have been a toa of air.

1Here's some questions and answers from a few days ago.....
2Three guesses why I'm pm'ing you.....
31)How do you pronounce Mavrah?I tried, but most times it ended up sounding just weird....
42)How is it that at one side of the tunnel the toa metru went through the water was protodermis, then at the other side it was, well, water?
53)Hw long was mavrah living in those tunnels anyway?
64)Out of curiosity, are mata nui and makuta literally brothers,or are they brothers the way the Toa are?

71) Mahv-rah.
82) Well, the liquid protodermis river they were on was an underground river. Then they hit the external sea and that was salt water.
93) Oh, years, easily.
104) No, there are no literal brothers in BIONICLE. Since there is no biological reproduction, there can't be any blood relations.

11That last one changed the way I've been thinking about Mata-nui and Makuta for a long time, although it should have been obvious :glare: .
#2407
1SPOILERS:

2Some new info on Lhikan's company, definitely new stuff on the Visorak, a bit on the environs, and a new Ms. Female Enemy comparison. Nidhiki = Lady MacBeth. My comments in blue.
31. In a recent answer to a question, you said that Makuta-Dume had sent out some of Lhikan's companions on missions from which they did not return... 4a. Does that mean that there was more than one Toa on Metru Nui as recently as a year before the events of LoMN?
51a) As recently as 18 months, yes. 6ô0 Scary. I had no idea it was so recent.
7b. Could Makuta have actually set up "problems" for the Toa to deal with in the form of Rahkshi, Rahi, and such so that he could send Toa to them as traps and be rid of one Toa at a time?
81b) It's certainly possible that he could have rigged the missions, sure. 9Typical Makuta... I bet he did so that he could get rid of them.
102. Since some of the Toa did not return from their missions, is it possible that we will see them again if they wander back to Metru Nui (perhaps when the Toa Nuva go there)?
11...(he skipped this one)
123. At the end of B2, Turaga Lhikan says "I am proud... to have called you brother... Toa Vakama." Yet Lhikan wasn't in the same group as Vakama. Does that mean that all Toa refer to each other as "brother" or "sister", regardless of group? And if so, then could Nidhiki have been from a different group of Toa than Lhikan?
133) Yes, all Toa refer to each other as brother, the same way all police or firefighters are brothers and sisters, joined by their occupation. 14So it's theoretically possible. Interesting.
154. "This is someone who drops Visorak off high places for fun." We know that Nidhiki and Krekka enjoy dangling Matoran upside-down over perilous situations and then dropping them... do they come close to how evil Ms. Female Enemy is?
164) Well, Nidhiki is pretty evil, it's true ... but he is also someone who works for others and does what he is told. Our villainess is sort of ... ummmmm ... Alien meets Lady Macbeth. 17*chokes* *imagines Nidhiki in a dress* HEY: RZ: Something else for you to draw:
185. Can Visorak speak (as in Matoran language), or do they have a language of their own?
195) They do have their own language. They are actually quite intelligent. 20:fear: OH my. HUNDREDS of intelligent creatures for the Toa to fight.... I can't wait.
216. You've said that the biggest set ever is bigger than any other Bionicle sets. Are you including the Muaka/Kane-Ra and Manas sets in that "any other"?
226) Actually, I have to post a clarification on that -- I checked and it is the biggest set since '01 (in terms of price, not sure on piece count yet).
237. Any word on the Turaga Lhikan set situation?
247) Just that I have heard it discussed, that's all I know. 25*crosses fingers*
268. I just read a question where you said that some of Lhikan's partners may have been sent to close the gateways to other environs. Now, my imagination of the gateways is that they're straits between two large landmasses (with mountain ranges in the centers that support the roof). To me, that sounds like a job that only a Toa of Earth or Stone, and maybe Ice, could do. Would the Toa of Water or Air have been able to do that?
278) My view is that there are gates built into the straits. 28That would make it simpler.
299. You said that some of them may have been killed or trapped on the other side in closing the gates. You also said that there are other sentient species. (perhaps other Matoran, too) Could a Toa who had been trapped on the other side have wandered around until he/she found another island and perhaps have become its Toa?
309) Maybe. 31Cool.
3210. So, the Toa's tools are also mutated by Visorak venom. But Vakama lost his disk launcher in the fight with Makuta, and even if he hadn't then those two swords aren't disk launchers. Did he choose another Toa Tool from the Suva?
3310) Official word from Denmark is that his launcher was jarred loose when Makuta slammed into the mountain.
3411. Again on the Lhikan's company and Nidhiki issues, if the six Toa had indeed been on Metru Nui together before they were sent away, then wouldn't the Matoran have recognised Nidhiki when he showed up in the city again?
3511) Possibly, assuming his appearance hadn't changed. But we know Lhikan came from elsewhere, it is possible he knew Nidhiki from pre-Metru Nui.

#2408
1I yust saw the movie and saw that all matoran have the same feet as in MOL, with the exeption of the Metru-nui Toa (in there matoran form). Why is that?
#2409
1Well, I have some interesting or none interesting Greg answers: 2SPOILERS

31) The "big" villian for 2005 is a female and if I read right that she is behind some parts of the Visorak problem. This kind of reminds me of Makuta with the Bohrok. So the question is: Is there a relationship between her and Makuta?
41) You'll have to wait and see 5Do I predict sister?
62) For 2005 the Toa are going to face the darkness within themselves. I believe I read a theory or a statement that the masks of the Bionicle world help hinder the darkness inside themselves other than weaking them if they don't wear them. So will some other mysteries of the masks be told in 2005?
72) '05 has nothing to do with masks really at all 8Darn it: I was hoping to find out more:
93) I don't know if you seen this picture or not but there is a picture of a bohrok evolution from a krana to a bohrok. But in the evolution chart there shows a kanohi evolving to a krana. Was this just a market idea or a possible story that has never been told?
103) That was artwork done by Advance that has no bearing on the story 11I never knew :
124) The spheres that hold the Matoran and kept them asleep was also to fog-up their memory and then be awaken to believe Makuta was a hero. The Toa came in canisters and came out with a fog memory of dark visions and their own names. Is there a possible connection between how both containers work?
134) Not that I know of, no. 14Crued, no connection for now...
15(Last one) You said the Bionicle team has a "Bionicle Bible" that has the Bionicle story and facts, right? I was just wondering if in the far future when Bionicle's story has become a really, really lenghty one that one day the "Bionicle Bible" will be printed as a big guide book. Is that a possibility or you don't really have an answer for that?
165) I doubt it, because the story bible reveals things we do not want the public to know about the ultimate end of the story. 17Hmm, what I meant was a super guide book like something for Star Wars.
18I'm really interested in the fact that Greg gave no real answer to my first question. I can see the brother and sister relationship just now... Makuta: Sister, get me out of this Protodermis cage::: Sister: Not until you return my hair curler:

4Final warning:::

5Here it is:
6QUOTE 7Greg, just a few questions if you have time.
81. If metru nui is underground, how can ko-metru scholars study stars?
92. Do the rhotuka have different powers? If yes, can you tell me them (I understand if you can't.)?
103. Can you tell me when the toa hordika and visorahk come out in the United States?
11As always, thanks. 12The Toa of Ice

131) The stars above Metru Nui are not the same kind of stars you and I know. The stars we are familar with are the kind above Mata Nui
142) Yes, at least 20 as of this writing
153) Hordika are out in the US, I believe, in December-January, and the Visorak are out in March, along with some of the bigger sets. Then more sets come out in August.
16Greg
17Comments:
181) That is very interesting. I wonder when we will find out what these "stars" are.
192) YAY::: 20 powers:::
203) I'm getting the hordika for Christmas:
#2411
1QUOTE 2Did Makuta (posing as dume) Know about The visorak?

3Can't answer it
#2412
1Some interesting answers here.
21)If the toa disks were made into elemental masks(fire, water, etc.) what would be the capability of these masks? How strong would they be? 32)I heard Lhikan call Krehka by name in LOMN, does this mean that Lhikan knew Krehka before LOMN? 43)Is Makuta palying a minor role next year or not? I believe you said that before but I can't find the quote. 54)When Lhikan was a toa, did he ever borrow great masks from the great temple? If not then why didn't he? 65) Are the Kranua and Kraahu ever going to be in the stroyline?

71) Probably about the same level as the Toa's elemental powers 82) It's certainly possible 93) Makuta shows up in one novel. He is not a factor in next year's movie or major storyline 104) He really didn't need to. Until the Morbuzakh came, the worst problem they ever had in Metru Nui was the occasional Rahi 115) No idea at this point

12#1: Man that would have to be the strongest mask ever: It could also lead to some funny comedies: *imagines reading a comedy called "Kopaka: Toa of Fire?"*
#2413
1QUOTE  2Hey Greg, you said you didn't get these so here they are, thanks:
3Hey, Greg. So the movie is finally out and I have read the 15 pages of the GregF Topic that I missed waiting for it. So now:
41.) You said before that there was a story reason why Lhikan had only one mask. I mean, sure, it makes things tons simpler with the whole Jala thing. But, in the movie alone, I can see times where a Great Miru or Komau would be really handy. Besides, before the Dark Hunters, I'm sure Lhikan had at least SOME time where he could have picked some up. So what gives?
52.) On the same note, he sure doesn't use that Hau....... at all. Why?
63.) Can only Great Disks join in that funky zappy way?
74A.) I know you can't give a full answer, but we really need some info on how Mata Ni was put to sleep. At least, tell me there was more to it than it seemed, cuz, I mean it seemed like nothing actually happened except an "eclipse."
84B.) Any info at all on what the Crisis was that Makuta saw coming? Besides of course the results of putting Mata Nui to sleep, which he would have known about anyway.
95.) About the Disk of Time, how it has "code 9" is purely for the promo, right? Cuz logically, after the normal 8, a Shielding or Levitation Disk or whatever would be 9, then 10, etc.
106.) Can you tell us anything why 6 Toa (Lhikan's) where on Metru Nui, when that wasn't where they even came from, and why they took orders from Dume?
117.) Is the same place Lhikan & Co. came from the same place that provided Kanoka/Kanohi before Moatoran could preduce them?
128.) Is the same place that Kanoka/Kanohi used to come from the same place Makuta got the Matoran-Sleep Spheres?
139.) What's an example of what a Turaga, let's just saw Matau, could do with his limited elemental powers? You always seem to dodge this question. I fully understand your "paint ourselves into a corner" thing, but this is pretty minor, so could you just fulfill our curiosity?
1410A.) I know you don't really go by the "book/chapter" references to the Bionicle story, but which Adventures book marks the beginning of "Book 3," or does the Hordika Chapter mark the beginning of a book at all?
1510B.) Would you say VoF starts "Book 2: Chapter 4"?
1611.) Where are the Toa Disks (Vakama's AND the others') around the VoF?
1712.) Ok, this is a big one. In an answer you said "All Matoran from Metru Nui wound up on Mata Nui." However, comparing the Kohli Field to the Coliseum, and from everything else I've heard, that's not true. Are there not still a lot of Matoran in Metru Nui that the Toa Metru were not able to save?
1813.) Its obvious that Turaga Lhikan wore the helmet thing to disguise himself, but does it have any other significance/power?
1914.) I know that it's been brought up a lot, but I am still confused. Ok, we all know that the Metru Nui Matoran's masks were silver on top only because of a product decision in Europe, but we have to make sense out of it in the story. You said they are that way so that Toa don't grab them by accident. However, I thought all masks except the Vahi were silver when not worn. Therefore, a Toa would have to look in a mirror once he put on the mask in order to see if it was silver at top, right? By that time, he could have tried using it's power, and realized it didn't work. It kind of defeats the purpose, no? Or am I totally confused?
2015.) This has been bothering me. Nokama was a really good teacher, so, shouldn't SHE recognize at least a few of their Mask shapes, therefore knowing some powers? (Please don't say, "she never taught that"...)
2116.) Would a Kaukau work in Protodermis, or is there actually a Mask of Liquid Proto. Breathing?
2217.) The "largest Bionicle set ever" will be in that exclusive magazine, which I think is very over-rated, so I'm not subscribing. Anyway, people can scan the pic/text and show it, right? It's not like Proto Squad hush-hush, is it?
2318.) In VoF, it seems like those sea monsters are eating takea and tarakava (and eachother?) right and left. How is it, many years later, that they haven't killed eachother?
2419.) Dozens of enormous sea creatures appear off the coast over-night. Pretty odd. Will we ever get an explanation?
2520.) In VoF, the Metru sail from the Protodermis rivers into the water-ocean of Mata Nui. How is water not being let into the underground, and Proto not being spilled into the sea? Am I missing something?
2621.) It's "after the movie," (LoMN) can you tell us anything else about the Hordika/Vhisorak?
2722.) What made you decide to get an Avatar?
28Thanks sooooo much Greg.

291) Pretty simple really. It's the same reason there is no mask switching in MOL. If we have Lhikan swap out masks, then we have to take time in the movie to explain that masks have powers, you can change them, etc., etc. There isn't time to do that.
302) You would have to ask the screenwriter.
313) No.
324) You didn't see what happened, for good reason. We don't want you to know yet. 334b) Well, as it states in Book 5, after Makuta put on his light show, there was a huge quake that hit Metru Nui. 345) No. 9 is the number for time. We have no coding system for the other disks at this point, because it was my decision to have them be disks. 356) Well, all Toa follow the lead of the local Turaga, the same way the mayor of a city can tell the police what to do. As for why they were there, obviously they were needed there at the time. 367) I have no info on that. 378) I have no info on that 389) Take what Lewa can do. Now take 4%-5% of that. That is about what Turaga Matau can do. 3910) As you said, I really pay no attention to the whole book chapter thing. Only Bob does. I just think year by year, because that is how I have to work. Whether we are in middle of Book 3 or Book 4 or whatever really has no bearing on what I do. New story starts in January, ends in December -- that is my cycle. 4011) Probably still in the city someplace. 4112) No. There were 1000 Matoran in Metru Nui, according to the Metru Nui Citybook site, and all but Ahkmou ended up being saved by the Toa. Heroes don't leave innocents behind in comas. 4213) Not to my knowledge 4314) Different shade of silver. So you can spot it. 4415) Why would she know that? She was teaching translation of ancient carvings, possibly how to purify protodermis, things like that. If anyone should have recognized them, it should have been Whenua. 4516) Yes, a Kaukau would work. It was originally made on Metru Nui, after all, where they didn't know what "real" water was. 4617) Well, I am sorry you think it's overrated. A lot of people are working very hard on it, myself included. What a BrickMaster chooses to do with their magazine is up to them. But only BM subscribers can enter the contest. 4718) I don't understand your question. They had takea and tarakava to eat, why should they eat each other? 4819) Yup 4920) I wrote like four answers to this, before realizing it falls under the heading of I really can't answer it without giving away too much. 5021) Such as? 5122) Somebody sent me one, I thought it was cute. That's all.
52Greg

53I'm PMing him back about 17 and 18.
#2414
1Here's some stuff I asked Greg. Comments are in orange.
rahksean
23) How big is the biggest set that's being released this year?
33) Can't answer it
43a) Is it still being designed, or is there a prototype ready?
53a) No, design and testing of the set are already done, have been for a while

6When I saw these answers you gave rahksean, I thought they sounded pretty interesting. So I thought I'd ask:
71a. When was the design of the set finished? (Just want to know what month of what year it was finished.)
8Answer: No idea. That work is done in Denmark, not here.
91b. What do you mean by "tested"?
10Answer: Tested by focus groups of kids for playability, etc.
112. When are we going to get to see the other Toa Hordika? Do they all have the same head design Nuju Hordika had on the DVD?
12Answer: When they come out 13Sure Greg.
143. You've probably answered this before, but how many sets are planned for '05? (Including each of the Visorak.)
15Answer: I think it is something like 26 16So... that means there are about eight other sets besides the Hordika, Visorak and Rahaga. I think...
174. If you can get in touch with the right people, do you think you could ask them if they would consider doing a Bionicle My Own Creation set? I mean, they did one with the train theme, and also the castle theme. I just thought it'd be awsome to see an official Bionicle set designed by a Bionicle fan. :D
18Answer: The Scholastic Rahi book next year is all sets designed by fans. 19Awsome:
205. Are any of the '05 sets mutated rahi?
21Answer: Not that I know of 22Aww. :( I was hoping the yellow rahi was a mutated Nui-Rama.
236. Any hints you can give as to how the Toa Hordika are cured? (Seems like it'd have to happen sooner or later because the Turaga aren't infected by the venom... or are they still?)
24Answer: No, that is movie plot, I can't discuss that 25Oh. I didn't realize that.
267. You said that the Visorak have their own language. Is their language made up of words like ours? Or does it sound like clicks and whistles or hisses or something like that?
27Answer: It's their own language, they don't speak Matoran. 28Eh, that's not exactly clear, but it sounds like they have actual words. Kinda like how we have english, french, spanish, etc.
298. What is your favorite set of '04?
30Answer: '04? Hmmmm ... probably Nidhiki
319. What is it about Kopaka that makes him your favorite Toa?
32Answer: Cause he reminds me of Batman, so I enjoy writing him 33At last: Now I know why::: :D
3410. Do you have a favorite rahi? If yes, what is it?
35Answer: Krahka 36Too bad I don't know what that one looks like.
3711. Do you build with Lego pieces often? (If at all?)
38Answer: Yes, sometimes, I don't have a lot of spare time. 39He's really missing out then. I love making my own action figures. ^_^
4012. Are the "bigger and badder" Vahki going to be turned into sets? If they are, are they going to be taller than the first ones?
41Answer: No. We don't like to repeat bad guys in a second year, because we get accused of repeating ourselves.
4213. Who is your favorite Toa Metru/Hordika? (Nuju perhaps? :sly:)
43Answer: Nuju and Onewa are the most fun to write.
4414. Are you allowed to view MOCs by BZPower members? (I think I remember hearing something like that, but maybe it was just with the fan-fics.)
45Answer: I generally don't have time to do stuff like that, and I am not an experienced enough model builder to be much of a judge of that sort of thing.

46I guess those are the only questions I can come up with right now. I hope you're allowed to answer them all. :) 47Thanks again:

1These are intesting. Spoilers for B2 on Q 16.

22)Will the biggest set to cost more than Manas? 3No, it is actually the biggest set since 2001. It is a little less expensive than the Manas.

43)Is the Black figure the evil woman? 5Can't answer it
64)Any information on the Yellow figure? 7Nope
85)does the female villain have a link with Makuta? Are they particulally enemies, or do they not appear together at the same time?
9Makuta is not really in the '05 story at all, except for late in the year in one book

106) How do some creatures fly with their feet? Like the Rahkshi or Krekka.
11They just have a natural ability, they don't need wings -- like Iron Man
127) In what season of 2005 will black and yellow figures come out? 13March
148)a)Is yellow good/bad? 15Will he/she be in the movie? 16c) Will he/she have a major role in the storyline? 17Can't answer it
189)Do hordika and visorak have alternate models? 19Yes.
2010)Can you list me all of the official facts about Mrs Black and Mr Yellow? 21Can't answer it.
2211) Is the yellow model we saw finished? 23Can't answer it.
2412)Is yellow a rahi or a mutant or what ? 25Can't answer it.
2613) Why does the femail villain like to torture visorak? To make them follow her? Or can she produce them, like Makuta with Kraata 27Can't answer it.
2814) How were bohrok captured for the archives? 29They were sleeping. Just a matter of taking them out of their pod and putting them in the Archives
3015) When will we find out the relation between Toa Nuva and Bohrok? Or is it simply they have same elemental powers? 31No idea. Not my call to make.
3216)Will we see new Turaga? If so, when? 33There are no Turaga sets planned for '05, unless we do a Turaga Lhikan. There is only one Turaga in Metru Nui and he's in a coma.
34Me: You've got to do a Turaga Lhikan:
35Well, yes, but he is also dead -- will there be a rush to buy a character who isn't in the story anymore? And while the Toa Nuva have the capacity to become Turaga, I can't say whether that will ever happen or not.

36So, Mr Yellow and Ms Black for March....cool.....

11.
you
2This is someone who drops Visorak off of high places for fun.

3Does this mean that the Female Villain has telepathic powers, or is just significantly bigger than Visorak?
41) Telepathic powers? How would the ability to read minds relate to dropping Visorak off buildings?
5I'll get back to him on that...>_<
62. Is it possible that any members from Lhikan's group are alive, but stranded, on any of the environs somewhere?
72) Sure it's possible
8Keep your fingers crossed, boys 'n girls:
93. In this picture, it show's the Toa Metru "brain" in the back of Nidhiki's head. Does this suggest that this is Nidhiki's actual Toa form or his mask was similar to his face now, or that just artistic license?
103) It could mean a lot of things, but most likely it means the animators were using existing pieces to create the characters on screen
11Ah.
124. Could Lhikan's group have accidentally wandered into Mata Nui at one time?
134) No. No one knew Mata Nui was a habitable until the Matoran got there.
14Darn...
155. Is it possible for Nidhiki and/or the other Toa in Lhikan's group (assuming they were in the same group) to be other elements than the standard six, and Nidhiki is simply an element that's associated with green that's not air?
165) Is it possible? Yes. Is it the case? Don't know.
17So Nidhiki might NOT be a Toa of Air:
186. Will there be any structural differences between various Rhotuka (i.e., different spoke designs), or will they all be exactly the same?
196) No, the molds used to make them are the same
20Darn...
217. Do any of the Hordika have a Rhotuka launcher, or are the Rhotuka on the cover of BA#8 (it's 8, right?) being shot from the Rahaga?
227) Visorak, Hordika, Rahaga, and the big sets all have launchers.
23Oi...
248. One of the Rahaga had a Rhotuka that bound whatever it shot at (I think it was the green one; can't remember name). Does it shoot out an "energy net" when it hits something, or is it attached to a "string" that wraps around the target?
258) It is energy, not a physical lasso
26~sees the Rahaga running around swinging their Rhotuka around, wearing cowboy hats~
279. Is the Tatorahk (that's the right spelling, right?) and the mystery Rahi in BA#3 (the one that agitated the lava eels) the same Rahi?
289) Oh, very good. You are the first person who guessed that :)
29One more month until I find out if I'm right...
3010. If Krahka knew what Makuta was capable of, would it be possible for her to mimic attacks that powerful, or is he too powerful to be rivaled by a shapeshifter?
3110) Good question. Could she do it? Possibly. Could she do it for long? I don't think so.
32Huh. Interesting...
3311. How do you see Krahka change shape? Personally, I see her changing with a sort of whooshing sound, like Mystique from X-Men.
3411) I always saw it as being kind of a gross thing to watch
35Mystique DOES whoosh:
3612. When you say the biggest Bionicle set ever is more expensive than anything before, are you implying that it's more expensive than the Manas?
3712) No, it is actually a little less expensive than the Manas, but not by much -- so it is the biggest set since 2001.
38Hope still exists...

2[QUOTE1) Who tells (told) the Bohrok (or Bahrag) to clear out Mata Nui? 31) No one had to tell them. 1... 212.) Ok, this is a big one. 3...

4... 512) No. There were 1000 Matoran in Metru Nui, according to the Metru Nui Citybook site, and all but Ahkmou ended up being saved by the Toa. Heroes don't leave innocents behind in comas. 6...

7Could you clarify what you meant here, jimmybob? You say that the Kolhii field compared to the Coliseum tells you that it's not true? Not sure why?
8If you mean the Kolhii scene in MOL, actually, that's the main scene that makes it seem possible; before that we thought there were only a few Matoran per Koro, but there we saw that it's more like a hundred or so (the large number of Matoran in the crowds, plus Greg's statements to that effect). Knowing that there are only about a thousand Matoran in Metru Nui, divide that by six, and that's about 170 Matoran per Koro on Mata Nui. And that fits with MOL. Yes, I know there weren't 170 in the crowds, but obviously not every matoran goes out of the village at the same time unless they're evacuating or something. It was in the MNOGs that we saw evacuations without that many people clearly shown. Those were what seemed to conflict; the explanation being they were either innaccurate or the others just happened to be outside the camera.

gifboy99
9...10. Do you have a favorite rahi?If yes, what is it?
10Answer: Krahka 11Too bad I don't know what that one looks like. 12...

13Well, that's because her appearance hasn't been revealed yet, gifboy. She is a shapeshifter, who can take on any shape (and the powers) she sees, and Greg hasn't revealed the real form. Because he says the things we can think up are way creepier than anything he can make.
14Krahka is featured in Adventures #3, BTW.

1Yeah, awesome book...

2Hey, what WAS the part with the mysterios Rahi that disturbed the Lava Eels? I don't have BA3 at the minute, so I can't look... lol

1Bones, MoL's Koli scene does show that there are hundreds of Matoran on Mata-Nui, but I think the Coliseum scene of LoMN shows many, many more. Watch the scenes closely, and try to gauge the scale... the Coliseum is HUGE. There are easily hundreds upon hundreds, possibly several thousand Matoran present. Easily more than just 1000, I think.
2Also, consider that when Whenua looks into the Coliseum using his mask power he sees "thousands" of Matoran in capsules.
#2421
1RZ, the movies HAVE taken some liberties with their showing stuff...
2So I'd trust Greg on this one.

3Edit: And if you saw hundreds of spheres, and couldn't count them quickly... what would you say?
#2422
1Keep in mind, at the Kohli match, only 3 koros were repesented.
2and who said all the Matoran from those Koros were there?
3:j:
#2423
1You're not getting my point. Even if there were 1000 Matoran on Mata-Nui, there are many, many, MANY times more than that shown in the Coliseum scene. Not twice as much (the "3 Koros" argument), probably even more than 10 times as much. The MoL stadium shows a few hundred Matoran at best. The Coliseum is on a completely different scale. Watch the movie and note how BIG the entire place is, and also note that in the scene where the Toa Metru are "tested", the stands are -full- of Matoran.
#2424
1Hi GregF: Just some questions:
21. Will the Vahi coming with the Vahki promo be the original orange Mask of Cheese? Or will it be a new design?

32. Did anything ever live on Mata-Nui before the Matoran?

43. Why did the Bahrag want to clear Mata-Nui as it was in the Before Time? (I don't mean like "it was their programming", I mean like if that's they're programming, why'd their creator put it there?) Does that have anything to do with Mata-Nui being put to sleep?

54A. You said the Toa Olda were meant to come if Mata-Nui went to sleep. But...the Matoran were in Metru-Nui at the time: Did someone know the Matoran would migrate?

64B. How did whoever sent the Toa Olda know that Mata-Nui would be put to sleep and the Toa would be needed?

75. What were the Toa Olda's dreams about in the canisters?

86. Did the Toa Olda come from another island? Were they trained by a Turaga?

97. So...could at most Turaga Matau's elemental powers cause a breeze or a whirlwind?

10Thanx:
11-Kualus-

121) Don't know if it is a new design, it is a different color. 132) No. 143) No, it has nothing to do with Mata Nui going to sleep. And beyond it is their job, I can't answer it. 154) The Toa Olda's job is to wake up Mata Nui. Protecting Matoran is secondary to that, so it made no difference where the Matoran were. 165) Can't answer it 176) They did come from elsewhere, beyond that I cannot discuss 187) Stiff breeze. Toa make whirlwinds.
19Greg

20Hmm. I wish the Kanohi Vahi was the orange, 2001 design.

1Asked these two days ago, was too lazy to post them though XD
2Hey greg,
3The following questions are more about upcoming sets than actual story info, so I hope you can answer them. So.. without further addo.
41.) Do you possibly know the reason of the cross release? (USA: Hordika> Visorak. EU: Visorak> Hordika) Did they want to try something different than their usual pattern?
51) The split launch is something we plan on doing going forward. For reasons I am not clear on, it saves the company money -- also makes my job easier, because I can have all the models right away instead of having to wait half the year to get them to the comic artist.
6Interesting.
72a.) Is this biggest set to date possibly something like Ultimate Dume or Takutanuva - in other words, just a combiner? 8b.) Also, I read that it was the most expensive set next to that. I can remember that manas were about €70-80 over here.. so should we aim at the.. say, €100,-?
92) No, it is not a combiner. It is the biggest we have done since 2001, by the way, not ever as it turns out. It is slightly less expensive than the Manas.
10That'd mean €60-75 for sure. Still quite expensive.
113.) Will there be any vehilcle sets? Because I saw a prototype walker, and an insectoid vahki transports of some sorts in the DVD preview.
123) Those were prototypes. There aren't any vehicle sets planned that I know of.
13Pity.
144.) Could you provide us the names of the August 2005 sets? (hey, I can try :P)
154) No.
16XD ah well.
175.) Bohrokwill posted a list of what is to come next year here, is this accessory kit I heard you talk of included in that list?
185) The accessory kit is like last year's -- it's a tub of BIONICLE parts, it doesn't have a BIONICLE name. It's just a BIONICLE Accessory Set.

1Yeah I'd have to agree with RZ on the whole # o' matoran thing. The collisuem is huge and I just watched the mivies liek 1/2 an hour ago. RZ is right I think, there are way more matoran on Metru-Nui.

7Well, we're not sure if all the Matoran from the three Koros in Mask of Light are present. It could very well be that many Matoran had to miss the kohlli match for various reasons. For example, maybe a group of Po-Matoran were working on a project and had to miss it. That's possible too.

9Well, that is obviously the case. And not to mention I doubt the Matoran would leave their Koros unguarded completely.
10But that's not the issue, the issue is that the Citybook says there's a thousand Matoran in Metru Nui, but more are shown in the coliseum scene, RZ thinks. It doesn't really matter how few Matoran are in MOL, since we may simply never see them all, but if LoMN shows more than the Citybook says exist.... see the issue?

1Hi Greg,
2I had a batch of questions, I'll try to make this quick.
31)I was wondering, why didn't the Turaga Dume set come with a staff? I already made a cool one, but what happened to an official one?
42)Will we find out the identities of Lhikan's team, and if so, will they be released as sets?
53)Did Turaga Dume have a team, and if so, are they now Turaga? (Possible Turaga sets?)
64)I just got Bionicle Adventures 4 last week (my bookstore still doesn't have number 3) and I was wondering about some of the pictures in the book.
74a)Why are some of them non-movie pics?
84b)In one pic, Orkahm is handing Matau his Toa disk. What's going on there?
94c) One pic says- "The Toa encounter a mysterious Turaga." Is this Onewa, or Turaga Lhikan?
105)Did the Toa get their Toa Disks before leaving Metru Nui? If so, will they play a part in any of the future stories?
116)Will any of the Bionicle Adventures covers feature Whenua or Vakama in their set pictures?
127)What is your favorite Visorak and Toa Hordika? (Just the color)
138)I believe you said all the Toa had disk launchers, but I noticed that only 5 of the Toa have other tools. What is Vakama's other Toa tool?
149)Why was it necessary in Bionicle 2 to skip back and leap forward like that?
1510)When will the mysteries of the past (the first chronological moment we've seen is Lhikan getting the Toa stones) like the origins of all the characters, Metru Nui, etc. and the mysteries of the other environs be revealed?
16Thank you for your time,
17-The Dementor-

181) No idea. Was a product designer call. 192) Again, no idea. I only know the story through '05. To showcase Lhikan's team, we would have to flash further back, and I have no idea if we are planning to do that. 203) I have no info on Dume's past, so I don't know if he was ever a Toa. If he was, and if they all became Turaga, they were obviously not Turaga in Metru Nui. 214) Scholastic used what they could get their hands on. It is very, very difficult to get a hold of movie pics beforehand -- the studio guards them like gold. 225) Originally, that was supposed to be his handing over a Great Disk, because at the time the illo was made, the design, codes and storyline of the Great Disks had not yet been finalized. 236) I know Book 5 is Onewa, I am not sure what the cover is for 6. 247) I can't discuss 2005 sets in any way, shape or form. 258) He doesn't have one. And none of the other Toa actually carry their disk launchers, they left them at the suva. 269) Can you be specific about what you're referring to? 2710) Again, no idea. I know the story through '05. We are just starting to plan '06 next week. With roughly 16 more years of storyline in the pipe, we have a lot of time to get to things. The other thing is, a lot of fans are demanding that we return to the Toa Nuva storyline, which means, if we do that, we can't flash further back to the past for a while.
28Greg
29I've been saving up mine, so get ready for a huge burst.
#2433
1Nothing special but...
21) Was Lhikan tested like Vakama and co. when he first arrived on Metru-Nui? 32) Is Lhikan's hau supposed to be golden in the sense of the toa olda's golden masks or is it just gold colored? 43)One of the Lego Company's ideas is a bionicle TV show right? If this was made would it cover the story from back when the toa olda first arrived on Mata-Nui? 54) Is it possible for a toa to become evil? 65) Will the rahkshi continue to be used im future storylines?

71) No, because Makuta was not running the city then. 82) It is not a gold mask, it is just a Hau 93) I doubt that it would, because those characters are no longer available as sets. You would be getting people all excited about characters they could not get 104) Sure, look at Nidhiki 115) Possibly, I like them

1Here are my questions that I asked GregF

2QUOTE
31. Did regular Dume ever have Nivawk, or was Makuta-Dume the only one who had him?
42. You said that the Visorak mutate things for experiments, do the actual Visorak care about the experiment, or are they just tools somebody, or something?
53. Was Nuju's voice in LoMN the voice that you thought Nuju's voice would sound like? I thought it would be more like Kopaka Nuva's in MoL, but Nuju sounded a bit too cheerful than what I pictured him from the books and comics.
64. I thought I heard somewhere that the Kikanalo dig up leftover protodermis with their tusks, but in LoMN and the set, they dont seem to have tusks, just a big jagged lower jaw, that doesnt even touch the ground when they run or hop, i guess. So how do they really dig up the leftover protodermis?
75. I remember you saying that the Rahaga and the Hordika will be out in December, do you happen to know if they will be out before Christmas?
8Thank you:

91) No, he was Makuta's pet. 102) Can't answer it 113) Really, the only voice I wasn't thrilled with was Whenua's, for the same reason I didn't like Onua's in MOL. I picture them as more like wise old guys, and they sound like longshoremen in the movie. As for Nuju, I see your point, but I didn't expect him to really sound like Kopaka, he is still a novice at being a Toa. Kopaka radiates confidence. 124) With their horn. The original write-up of them in the movie, upon which Book 4 was based, said they had tusks. 135) I'd hope so, but I don't know for absolute certain. i am sure the Rahaga will be.

11)What was the "small, compact item" that Lhikan took in the Canyon of Unending Whispers?
22)Are trollers the same as the worm thing in Tales of the Masks?
33)In what books do the next two comics take place?
44)Are Visorak Canister sets, or small $4 sets?
55)How did the Rahkshi get by on Metru Nui if Makuta was posing as Dume? Wouldn't people notice that there were an unusual amount of them at the Coliseum?
6Thanks for your time:

71) Hasn't been revealed yet
82) No
93) The September and November comics take place during the movie -- so Book 4
104) I can't discuss 2005 sets
115) There were no Rahkshi at the Coliseum, Dem. The Rahkshi on Metru Nui were created before Makuta took over for Dume, not after. So they were not hanging out there like pets.

2I'm pretty sure the cover of book six was Nuju. Anyway that is pretty interesting food for thought, i thought the fabled "Bionicle the Series" would be about the Toa Olda.

1When will you be able to talk about the spring big sets 2005 and the Major Enemy?

3PS: Oh, I saw a qoute where you said you didn't know the which Toa is on the front cover of Maze of Shadows. It is Toa Nuju.

4I would prefer to hold off until January, when the first comic is out, frankly. Not sure that will happen, but I think it takes a lot of the fun out of it if you guys know everything before the story comes out.
5Comment: Dang... I hate to wait. I don't want to know everything, but it would be nice to know which name of our new set list matches to which set seen on the B2 DVD.

1Dear GregF,
2I have a few questions that I would like to be answered.
31) Can the Toa Metru use elemental powers? In the movie (LoMN) the only scene using their elemental powers is the last one when they combine their powers and create a beam of protodermis that freezes Makuta against the cliff. But this isn't real elemental use, just some unity power. So my question is: Can the Toa Metru use their elemental powers?
42) Why don't they use them?
53) How would Vakama use his elemental powers? He has a Disk Launcher, and I don't see him concentrating his fire power through a Disk Launcher.
64) The original description for Whenua's mask power was "Night Vision". In LoMN his mask can glow and light up the room and he can see through walls and other things just like the Akaku. Is this because he is wearing a Great Ruru?
75) If so, do all the Toa Metru's masks do something else than their Noble versions? Can you give a list? (i.e. Whenua: Light, Night vision, X-vision)
86) Why doesn't Tahu ever directly hit someone with his fire (except MNOLG like the Makuta Scene)? He only shoots fire at Lerahk's feet, two ground fires at Gali, etc.
97) Is there a (storyline) reason for the Rahaga to use lots of old Rahkshi parts? Are Rahaga made out of dead Rakshi?
108) When will we finally learn about the reproduction of Matoran? In the special novel you are releasing next year?
119) How do the Rahage shoot their spinning disk thingies?
1210a) I know you don't know much about Bionicle's marketing and when sets are released, but do you know when the Rahage are released in December? If not precise, can you give a possible range (i.e 1-10 December, 18-22 Decemember, etc.)?
1310b) Are the Rahaga released before December the 14th?
1411) How will the Rahaga sets be released in December? Shop @ Home?
1512) Can the Rahaga sets that are released in December also be shipped to Europe? (For December and not later in 2005)
1613) I saw somewhere that the Toa Hordika will also be released in December. Is this true?
1714) If so, how will the Toa Hordika sets be released in December? Shop @ Home?
1815) If so, can the Toa Hordika sets also be shipped to Europe? (For December and not later in 2005)
1916a) Do you know when the Toa Hordika sets are released in December? If not a precise date, can you give a range within the Toa Hordika are released? (i.e 12-19 December)
2016b) Are the Toa Hordika released before December the 14th?
21Thank you for your time. ^^
22Sincerely, 23Arend van der Brugge

241-2) Yes, they do. But as detailed in the first three novels this year (which may not have been published where you are), they exhausted their powers fighting the Morbuzakh and had to wait for them to recharge.
253) Vakama doesn't shoot fire from his launcher -- he shoots it from his hands.
264) Yes
275) The only other one we know about is Matau's, which allows him to shapeshift rather than just cast illusions.
286) Because this is LEGO, and LEGO has a policy about showing violence. In addition, the movie has to be sold in other countries besides the US, where their policies on violence in films meant for kids are much stricter. If we showed Tahu burning someone up, I can guarantee you the movie would not be allowed to be sold in some European countries.
297) No, they aren't. The origin of the Rahaga gets told later next year.
308) The head of the story team has stated we are not allowed to discuss how Matoran come into being, so there are no plans to release that info anywhere.
319) Willpower
3210) All I know is December
3311) No, I believe they are in retail in December
3412) I think they are out in December everywhere, but I may be wrong.
3513) That is what I heard.
3614) No, those would be in retail too, most likely.
3715-16) No idea.

3812) I think they are out in December everywhere, but I may be wrong.

39Yes: Maybe they are released in Europe and I can get them for my birthday. Wheee.. Or christmas.
