Toa Pilak Evolved
1This time my mind has been filled up with these particular questions so here I go...
21)Do you happen to have the names or have any info concerning the Keetongu and Sidorak combiner and the Keetongu and Roodaka combiners
32)In the story how does Keetongu use his Rhotuka? Does his chest really flip open and he fires it out?
43)I have been hearing that Keetongu is a Rahi, is this true?
54)How many Kanohi are there going to be by 2006? (e.g, Great, Noble and really special masks)
65)Concering the encyclopedia, how far are you into it now?
76a)Is there by any chance that Pilak is in the list of legal Bionicle names to use?
86b)If yes, I know this is one of those fat hope requests but I'll take a shot at it anyway   , could you add a mention of Pilak somewhere in the encyclopedia (preferably in any entry concerning Metru Nui)
97)What is the layout of the Encyclopedia going to be? (standard paragraph by paragrahp or maybe like one of those info books with detailed pictures of the entry and there are little factoids here and there)
10Thanks in advance: :)

111) Yes, but since the sets are not out anywhere yet, I am not releasing that info yet. 122) Far as I know 133) Yup 144) Well we are only adding two new ones this year. I have no idea what we are doing in 2006 155) Well, it's not done yet 166) I cannot use terms that have not been legally approved by LEGO. If it isn't on my official name list from Denmark, it can't get in because the name may belong to someone else legally or may mean something in another language. 177) Since the book is not written yet, Scholastic has not started on a layout yet.
18Greg

19F.Y.I: I just ran a search on the word "Pilak" on Yahoo and it turns out Pilak is the name of a Hindu and Buddhist treasure and is also the name of an archaeological site in South Tripura somewhere in India. No wonder it can't be entered in the big list:

20Well, that kind of stinks, Pilak... (Good luck entering if you still plan to)
21I didn't think that Keentongu's Rhotuka was in his chest...-Ewwww- 22It's kind of cool though...-In a real sick sort of way.- :P
23Good info, though...

1Heh....more interesting questions...I hope I figured out how to use quotes this time.><

2Greetings. n_n
3Firstly, I do have some questions, but I thought you might like hearing some really corny BIONCLE jokes before we start...it can't be to much fun just reading questions. :3 I know, they're really lame...but maybe they'll be funnier because of that.
4Q: How many kratta does it take to change a lightbulb? 5A: I don't know, when the light snaps on, they all scatter:
6Q:What kind of music do the Bahrag twins listen too? 7A: Boh-Rock:
8Q: How many matoran does it take to stuff a bean bag chair? 9A: Just two...if you cram them in real tight.
10Yup...I'll never be a stand up comedian...ah well....Now for the questions.
11A lot of the rahi descriptions specify that they are predaters of some kind, and some like the cable crawler and chute spider supposedly take on other rahi. This makes me want to know two things...how do they digest partial mechanical beings, and does this mean that there are less and less rahi cause there is no biological reproduction in Bionicle? As in, once a poor prey rahi is eaten...it can't be replaced? ;__;
12I guess I'm in a rahi mood now...so, now for questions on my favorite rahi: I like the Fikou spider...and I was wondering...how many colors/species do they come in? I've made black, green, orange, and even silver-gold Fikou, and I've seen purple and black Fikou online: I know these are MOCS, but are there that many different Fikou species in BIONICLE?
13Fikou are said to be venomous and dangerous...how many would you say it would take to provide a threat to a Toa? (Nuva for the type of Toa I guess. ^^ )
14In the video games that featured them as enemies, you could knock off the poor Fikou's mask and they would just sit there looking shocked. What happens to a Fikou that has it's mask removed? They get weaker like the Toa or do they go comotose like the matoran?
15Pertaining to the above question, can a Fikou/rahi use any mask to replace one it lost? For instance, could a Fikou spider without a mask steal and wear Toa Onewa's mask and wear it instead of it's normal orange kanohi? (I know it couldn't use the mask power...I think. o.0, but I just want to know if they can wear any mask like matoran or toa can.)
16Is the little Fikou going to be in the upcoming beast book?
17You think I'm obsessed about Fikous? ^^;
18One last question...I am loving how Roodaka and Co. is shaping up to be some of the most twisted baddies so far...but I'm afraid they might be defeated rather easily. What's to stop the Toa Hordica from charging up their rhoteko spinners to a high level, leveling metru nui, and then rescuing the materan out of the crater that used to be the city? The achives with the rahi and the matoran in the pods are both below the city...so can't the Hordica just level the surface along with all the visorok?
19Thanks once again for being there to help us...and I'm sorry I asked so many Fikou questions. ^^;;;

20LOL, actually, I liked the jokes
211) You raise a good point, and yes, you are basically right. As for eating mechanized beings, well, they are eating protodermis -- because the organic and inorganic parts are all protodermis. So for them it's like eating a machine made of chocolate.
22And yes, the BIONICLE eco-system does have some potential issues. But since we have not revealed how Rahi come into being, there may be more coming into being somewhere right now
232) Sure, why not?
243) Oh, gee, to a Toa? You would probably need a couple hundred, I would say.
254) Yes
265) It's in the Appendix
276) Well, again, a good question. Part of their reluctance to do that is revealed in the movie .. but part is also that this was their home. It's not that easy to just devastate. Not to mention that if the Toa level the city, they would also kill themselves, the Rahaga, and a lot of innocent Rahi. And what if the Coliseum collapses on top of the spheres and destroys them and the Matoran inside?
28Greg

29Hehehehe...Yay: I shall make an army of Fikou spiders and take over Mata Nui: Ahahahaha:

1I don't think anyone has posted these yet so here are *drumroll* 2The Visorak Rhotuka Powers. Yay:
3You said you would release the Visorak's rhotuka powers when they are released. Well I just got Vohtarak and Oohnorak, and I must say, good job from TLC: So, could you tell me the visorak's powers?

4YupIf you will do something for me, and tell me what you think of the sets.
5Anyway, here are the powers --
6Vohtarak -- burning sensation 7Roparak - disruption 8Oohnorak - numbing 9Keelerak - Acid 10Suukorak - electrical field 11Boggarak -- 2 powers: in water, makes target inflate so they float to the surface; on land, totally dehydrates target and turns it to dust
12Also, all Visorak have a default paralysis power they can deliver with their spinners.
13There are some extra powers, too, I will let BZP know about.

14There, so now you know.

15Are you sure you sent that to GregF? I'm not accusing you of anything, just saying that that aroused my suspision since GregF said that he would release the powers to BZP. But you may very well have official GregF answers there. Just curious.

2hyper Vakama, I'm a bit scetical about your question...you said you got Vohtarak and Oohnorak but according to the retail catalogues the Visorak aren't coming out ANYWAY until earliest April. So where did you get those two?
3EDIT: Ok...didn't notice the news about Argos getting the new '05 sets early so that must have been where you got them right?
#3128
1Got some new info from Greg

21. After MoL, we havn't seen too much of the Toa Nuva or Takanuva. How do the Toa Nuva treat Takanuva? Do they treat him like he's been with them the whole time? Or do they see Takanuva as more of an outsideer?
32. Has Takanuva adjusted to being a Toa? Does he prefer to be with the Toa Nuva, or does he still hang out with matoran like Jaller and Hewkii?
43. Considering that you've told us about the Toa that never returned from missions, and the other 10 Toa that originally came with Lhiikan. It seems like there lots and lots of Toa at one point. Is this true, and if so why is there only 1 team at a time now compared to multiple teams at a time before?
54. Do what extent can Keetongu's shields absorb attacks? I realize that it could definitly absorb a fire ball or a tornado, but could it absorb a earthquake or Sidorak's loyalty rhotuka?
65. The Rahaga tell the Toa that they were injected with a specific kind of venom, the hordika venom. Does this mean that the Vishorak have different types of venom which mutate beings in different ways?
76. I realize that it would be ridiculous to have the Rahaga's orgin story be as long as the Toa Metru's (I still love the idea of an origin story in an origin story) but how long will the origin story last?

81) Well, I think for the most part they treat him as mentors, and he is still sort of in awe/hero worship mode.
92) Actually, the fact that he can't play kolhii with his friends anymore, etc., is an issue for him the same way that sort of thing was for a Toa Metru.
103) There is only one team at a time that we focus on. But there are a lot of other places besides Mata Nui and Metru Nui, so there is no telling how many active Toa there may be at any one time.
114) An earthquake, probably not, because that is not something directed right at him. But anything in a Rhotuka, yes, he could absorb.
125) I would say it refers to the fact that Visorak use more concentrated and potent venom for beings as powerful as Toa as opposed to what they would use for, say, a stone rat or an Ussal crab
136) One comic issue
14Greg

15Not too interesting, but now we know how long the Rahaga origin story is.
#3129
1Toa Pilak, the Visorak are available in an English store called Argos, and not just for preorder which is what I thought.
#3130
1Why has Norik a silver Kiril? I thought he'll get a new mask?
2NtM

3Ah, but Nuhrii -- remember that a Great Mask and a Noble Mask do not look alike. And Dume wore a Noble Kiril. So while there is some similarity in shape, Norik is wearing a Great Mask and it is a new mask
4Comment: Well, I can't say I would hate a silver Kiri-shaped mask... (thinks of MOCs)
5On the German website where the Iruini pic has been found, it says his task is to free the captured Tos (I think is is Toa)
6Are the captured the other Toa Rahaga?
7NtM Hordika

8Yes
9Comment: I knew it.
#3131
1hey nuhrii niceinfo, so it is a kiril, (i think, that was kinda confusing) well then ill have 3 kirils. :P and wow, other toa rahaga?awsome:: 05 is gonna rock:

#3132
1Hordika 123, the other "Toa Rahaga" aren't going to be released as sets, which is a shame but the truth. And I think what Nurhii's answer meant is that, even though Norik's mask looks like a Noble Kiril, it's a Great Mask that's not a Kiril. :)Which is good, I just wished it looked more different.

1I already sent you this, but I think the server had dinner on it.
2Hi: Just three questions:
31. Is the Bohrok awakening a necessity to awakening Mata-Nui? Or are the Bohrok some other plot entirely?
42. Could you tell me how many Visorak travel in a squad? I would like to know for buying purposes. For example, I think eight (correct me if I'm wrong) Bohrok travel in one squad.
53. Were the Bohrok made to hold Krana? Or did they have one purpose, but then the Bahrag came along and made them krana-compatible?
6-Kualus-
71) I would not call them a necessity, no. 82) A small squad of Visorak would probably be four, all of the same kind. A strike team would be six, of different kinds. 93) Yes, the Bohrok were always intended to hold krana.

53. How long will the Metru Nui saga go on?

61) They will turn into Turaga when they wake up Mata Nui. 72) Probably, since Mata Nui doesn't protect the Matoran fully, and LEGO would still need to make more sets to get money. And as long as the sets make money, there will be Bionicle. 83) Until the end of this year. After that, we are back in the present.

5True, but they may have another destiny in store for them after awakening Mata-Nui, but my personal belief is that Jaller, Hewkii, Kongu, Onepu, Matoro and Macku (Hahli?) will all become Toa after the Toa Nuva's reign.

5Actually, a Toa must achieve his/her destiny and sacrafice their power. I think Greg said that the Metru's destiny was to save the Matoran, and they did that, but did they automatically turn into Turaga? No, they had to sacrafice their power (by awakening the Matoran.) Fin.

6After their destinies are fulfilled, they have the option to sacrifice their power for the "greater good." So I'm guessing they will turn into Turaga because of their want for the greater good. Here's some stuff, btw-
7Hi Greg,
8I'm sorry, I'll try to make these questions short.
91) Now that pics are out, can you reveal what Iruini's mask power is?
102) Will the Toa Hordika ever fight a real, huge Gate Guardian?
113) Will you ever work in the Hordika/Rahaga combiners and/or Chute Lurker into the storyline?
124) Does Keetongu have some sort of sword as well as his shield array?
135) So, this is how it works-Keetongu gets shot at with an energy blast, he absorbs it into one of his shields, and then launches it back with his "Counter" Rhotuka. Am I right, or could you point out any flaws?
146) Do Colony Drones have any fighting skills if they are attacked alone?
157) What do Zivon's Rhotuka do?
168) Could you tell me what a Phase Dragon is? (I saw the name in a Zivon pic, but not the thing itself. A lot of combiners this year: )
17Thanks so much for all you answers.
18Quiet-Night
191) No. Iruini does not come out anywhere until April and he is not in the story until July, so it is too early. 202) Yes, Nokama does in Book 8. 213) Doing my best :) But with only four novels this year, and one the movie book, it is tricky. Kahgarak definitely makes it into the books. With the comics, again, the Kahgarak gets in, but space is pretty limited for the rest. 224) He has a kind of a pick-axe 235) No, you are right 246) No 257) So far, we have not seen him use them, but I will try to get info for you on this. 268) Phase Dragon (and the Blade Burrower) are both fan-built models -- they're not 2005 combiners. They were submitted for the Rahi Contest last year and we put them in the spread as a preview of the BIONICLE Beast Book coming out this year.

1Hi: It's been awhile since I sent you questions but here are some:
21) Has there been anymore news on the possiblity of a Turaga Lhikan?
3ANSWER: Does not look like that is happening.
42) Why was it decided to have Norik and Iruini in the story as toa and not any of the other Rahaga.
5ANSWER: Well, in part because you have to think about how much the market will bear. We already had something like 24 items coming out this year, doing six more Toa who barely have any role in the story would have made it 28, which is a little much. We had designs for a green and gold Toa and a red and silver one, and that is what we went with.
63) I remember you saying somewhere that Roodaka's Rhotuka of mutation is permenant. Does this mean even Keetongu can't cure this type of mutation?
7ANSWER: Yup
84) Does Keetongu simply know how to make a cure for the Visorahk poison or is the cure something only he can do (Such as a Rhotuka Power)?
9ANSWER:You will have to follow the story and find out.
105) How do you pronounce Rhotuka?
11ANSWER:Ro-too-kah
126) What are the Rahaga rhotuka powers? I've looked all over BZP and haven't seen them.
13ANSWER: Check the official Rahaga Topic in Stories and Theories.
147) Is Karzahni the 'unexpected enemy' the Toa Hordika fight?
15ANSWER: No. Karzahni is only in the books, he does not appear in the movie.
168) Is it at all possible that some of Lhikan's Toa Brothers are still alive somewhere (During the Hordika storyline) just trapped or missing?
17ANSWER: It's possible, yes
189) Did the Rahaga come to Metru Nui to search for help against the Visorahk?
19ANSWER: No. The Rahaga came to Metru Nui in search of Keetongu.

20Here's some more questions I would like answering please. I sent these before but I think the server ate them.
211) I remember some-one asking you about the Keetongu combiners but you said you can't answer it since Keetongu and co aren't out yet. Since Keetongu and Roodaka are out at Argo's in the UK can you tell us about the combiners now?
22ANSWER: I will eventually, but they don't play a role in the story until later in the year.
232) Is Keetongu's spinner a natural one or mechanical?
24ANSWER: Natural
253)Can Keetongu only use his Rhotuka to attack or does he have some power like Nidhiki's energy attacks?
26NATURAL: He uses his physical strength and his spinner
274) How exactly do Mechanical Rhotuka work? Do they have a preset power that works for anyone who uses them or do they somehow sense the character using them and have an effect like natural rhotuka?
28ANSWER: The launcher is mechanical, but the spinner still is created by the will of the user.
295) Am I right in saying that if Vakama used a fire attack on Keetongu he could launch a fire Rhotuka at him?
30ANSWER: Yes, you are
316) If not then how does Keetongu's Rhotuka work?
327) Has Keetongu always been on Metru Nui or did he travel there from somewhere else?
33ANSWER: He came from elsewhere
348) What did the Rahaga do while hiding in the Archives? Did they try to save Rahi then?
35ANSWER: There wasn't really any reason to then, because the Visorak weren't there yet. They were mainly trying to piece together clues to find Keetongu.
369) Who would you say is a more major enemy to the storyline? Sidorak or Roodaka?
37ANSWER: Roodaka
3810) Storyline wise, is the winner to the Build a toa contest oing to be one of Lhikan's brothers since it says you "Have to build a Toa that vanished on a dangerous mission"?
39ANSWER: Maybe. And maybe not. We will see
40See answers above, 41Greg

1hey greg, got some questions for you

21.) does sidorak know of the rahaga?
3ANSWER: Yes
42.) do the visorak have a home island?
5ANSWER: I would say yes
63.) if you could change one thing in the bionicle storyline, which would you change and why?
7ANSWER: I would have made the Exo-Toa more prominent in the storyline.
83.) after hearing the tales of metru nui, do you think the matoran will be different people (Like Jaller learning he wears Lhikans mask, Ahkmou being left behind and being a traitor, etc?)
9ANSWER: I have no doubt they will be
104.) how old is Metru nui?
11ANSWER: Oh, gee, thousands and thousands of years old
125.) why don't turaga onewa and Nuju want the tales of Metru nui told?
13ANSWER: Because they weren't so sure the Toa Nuva could handle the truth. They had not exactly been acting terribly emotionally mature lately.

146.) from what you have seen, what is your favorite 05 set?
15ANSWER: I like the Visorak Battle Ram a lot. That is one I would buy even if I did not work here.
167.) (completely random) what kind of pen do you prefer, clicky tops, or twisty bottoms?
17ANSWER: Probably the latter, because I carry them in my pocket and click-tops don't work well for that.
188.) if you could make your own toa with a new element, what you make it (just curious)?
19ANSWER: Oh, gee, that's tough ... I probably shouldn't answer because then I will get 2700 of them in the Toa contest, lol.
209.) of all the toa hordika, which one most regrets their actions later?
21ANSWER: Vakama
2210.) are there any environs around Mata nui?
23ANSWER: Yes
#3146
1Now Greg's answers about Norik:
2Hi Greg. You said that Norik was going to have a new mask and power. Then why is Norik wearing a silver Kiril? Is taht a final or a prototype image of Norik?

3Well a couple of things -- Dume wore a Noble Kiril, and as we all know, Noble Masks do NOT look like their Great Mask counterparts. But there is definitely a similarity in the masks, and it has to do with the relationship between their powers.
4Greg

5You mean like Matau. In Toa is Mahiki had the power of shapeshifting, but in Turaga is Mahiki only had illusion powers. In this case Dume's Kiril haves Regeneration,so Norik's Kiril must have powers like ressurection, maybe?

6Norik's not wearing a Kiril.

7So Norik isn't wearing a Kiril.Good....

1These are just 2 questions that I asked Greg out of curiosity
2Do all of the Rahkishii have staffs, or do some of them, like the heat and laser vision ones, not have a staff?
3Would the Visorak venom cause changes in a non bio-mechanical creature like the bohrok or the rahkshii, which are only vehicles for the krana and kraata? 4or does Visorak venom only cause mutations in organic beings?

51) They all have staffs. 62) Visorak venom would not mutate machines.

1QUOTE 2Hey Greg, sorry to bother you, but we've just seen so much new stuff lately.
31) So, with sidorakh, are those things on his head his eyes or are they horns?
42) If Makuta had infected the mask of shadows, when takanuva put it on in Mask of light, would makuta have been too weakened anyways to control takanuva?
53) Once I asked you why there were no great huna matoran masks on mata nui aside from the fact that they weren't designed yet way back in 2001. You said that there wasn't time to make any great huna matoran masks. So basically, I'm wondering if there's a new reason, since Vakama was wearing one as a matoran on metru nui.
64) Are the toa nuva's tools completely new toa tools or were they just enhanced versions of their original tools?
75) If roodaka is from a different island than sidorakh, how come none of her henchmen are around?
86) At what point would an "island" in bionicle be a continent? I mean, Mata nui had a rain forest, desert, volcano, and so much stuff that it seems more like a continent to me.
97) With mechanical rotuka, is it the machine that generates the rhotuka's power, or is it still determined by whoever is using the machine?
108) I know that the female visorakh like Roodaka more, but does she favor them too?
119) Some one once asked you if kraata can be tamed by turaga, and you asked why a turaga wanted to do it;, well a kraata of quick healing would be pretty useful to have around on mata nui, to heal anyone who got hurt right? So once again, can kraata be tamed by turaga?
1210) Are new rahi coming into being all the time? It seems that after the visorakh mutated everything, there were still a bunch a rahi for makuta to infect on mata nui. I'm assuming they're not mutated, because things like tarakava and muaka were around on metru nui before the visorakh invaded.
1311) In terms of personality, how much more vicious is a rahi with an infected mask compared to one bitten by visorakh, or the other way around?
14THanks a lot for answering these.

151) I don't have the set, so hard for me to answer. 162) Good question. I would have to say that in my opinion, to control someone through a mask you need to be wearing a mask yourself. So I don't believe Makuta could have controlled him under those circumstances. 173) Ah, but all that means is that Vakama at one time made himself one ... he was a mask maker and could, after all. But since no one else was wearing one, obviously there had not been a Toa in Metru Nui to make that mask famous. 184) They were altered versions of their old tools, because they emerged from the EP with them. 195) She has no need of them. She has a personal guard of Boggarak. And if you were Sidorak, would you want more than one being like Roodaka around? I wouldn't. 206) When it was big enough. The biggest island we have seen so far is Mata Nui, which isn't anywhere near the size of a continent. 217) It is still generated by the will of the user, the launcher is just not natural. 228) It's not so much that they like her more, it's that those are her personal guard. Visorak don't "like" anyone particularly. 239) No. Kraata are by their nature evil creatures. 2410) First, the Visorak only mutated select creatures, not all of them. Some were just wrapped in webbing to sleep. And a lot of Rahi made it to Mata Nui when the Visorak first hit Metru Nui. 2511) A Rahi who has been mutated by a Visorak might not become more vicious at all .. it might become a blob of protodermis protoplasm. That's why they do experiments to find out. A Rahi with an infected mask will always be nastier because it is following the will of Makuta.

1Some interesting questions here, questions normal, answers bold, commenst red.
21)I just signed up for the Brickmaster program today, and I'm looking forward to the first issue. I just need confirmation on this, my first magazine will be the January-February, and I won't be able to get the November one right?
3ANSWER: Depending on when you signed up, you should get Jan.-Feb., yes. I have no idea on the November situation, you would need to check with Customer Service to see how they are handling back issues.
4I doubt Lego would send paid issues out for free
52)So how much freedom do you actually get when you're writing the encyclopedia, and do you send the final draft to the story team or do you ask them for confirmation along the way?
6ANSWER: I have quite a bit of freedom on this, for the most part, but like the novels, the manuscript has to go to Denmark for approval before Scholastic can publish it.
73)Why exactly would Tahtorak have a question, I mean, depending on the question, it must have had an experience where it had a nagging question. Am I correct?
8ANSWER: Yes
9I think Lhikan has something to do with it
104)Will you be doing any book signings in Massachusetts in the near future?
11ANSWER: Nothing planned just now.
12I tried
135)Under what circumstances might the Toa Hordika actually be told the origin story?
14ANSWER: I haven't decided how to do it yet, I have a couple options.
15Like...
166)Referring to said story, who's telling it? I assume Pouks, Gaaki, Boonga, and Kualus would have little to say?
17ANSWER: Again, I don't know yet. Iruini has already told Matau (in March) that they were once Toa .. but the actual origin may be a tale that is told or may simply be one of the Rahaga remembering.
187)What games do you have for your PS2, Bionicle: the Game, among others methinks?
19ANSWER: I have mostly baseball games and a couple racing games. I really don't use the PS2 too much. On the rare occasions these days I have time to play, I am usually on the PC.
20Greg doesn't seem like the basketball type
218)Might you be including the old combiners, like the Boxor, and Bahrag in the encyclopedia? If they don't figure into the storyline, you might be able to make up some roles.
22ANSWER: It's possible, but if they have never figured into the storyline, it can be hard explaining what they are and why they are there, since there is no history.
23I hate not knowing what some things' purposes are
249)Numerous references, (Voyage of Fear, and the Dark Hunters comic,) have mentioned "toys" of the Matoran. In this sense do Matoran go through maturing stages, do they enjoy playing with toys, or was the narration exaggerating?
25ANSWER: I wouldn't call it a case of a maturing stage, actually. My next door neighbor at the office is in his late 20s and his office is full of toys (ours and other companies'). My house is loaded with PVC superhero figures and stuff like that. Matoran just have a very well developed sense of play :)
26The Matoran are still young at a mettalic center
2710)I'm not sure I quite understand the phrase, "This Roodaka swears:" Does this mean that Roodaka is a title, and could you elaborate what exactly you meant when you wrote it?
28ANSWER: No, she is referring to herself. Dr Doom used to talk like that all the time ... supervillains often refer to themselves in the third person.
29I didn't mean that she was egomaniacal, oh well
3011)Do all of the Bohrok, (except for Lehvak, who obviously doesn't,) have the exact same elemental powers as their Toa counterparts?
31ANSWER: Yes
32Useful to know
3312)Similarly, why exactly was Lehvak given power over acid, while all of the other Bohrok have the standard elemental powers, (or similar to the standard elemental powers, based on your answer to the previous question) ?
34ANSWER: Don't know, wasn't my decision. That was decided by the head of the story team and he never told me why he did that.
35Doesn't make sense...
3613)Could with, the power of Lewa, the swarms have made solid protodermis, like the Toa Nuva, and Toa Metru?
37ANSWER: I would say no. While they had the elemental powers, it was not Toa power.
38I'd say a few hundred Bohrok could match a Toa in power
3914)I look forward to entering my Toa, but is there anything you're specifically looking for, (you know, to give an old friend a heads-up?) Of course, you don't have to...
40ANSWER: Creativity. If somebody just sends in a red Toa and says This is Toa Pyro, Toa of Fire ... that's not very exciting. I want a Toa with a new power, not just a copy of what we have already done.
41Duely noted...
4215)What exactly caused the coming of the Visorak at the specific time after the battle with Makuta? Was it the "Bioquake", coincidence, were they waiting for the city to be at its weakest, or something else?
43ANSWER: It wasn't a coincidence. As you will discover, they were summoned.
44By whom?
4516)What exactly caused the Bioquake in the first place, was it Mata-Nui falling asleep?
46ANSWER: I can tell you it would not have happened had he not fallen asleep.
47Interesting...
4817)Where did the idea for the Brickamasters actually come from?
49ANSWER: From the LEGO Club team.
50Did they just say, "Hey, let's make a subscribtion magazine,"?
5118)Do you have copies of all of your books, and other literary works, or do you figure that since you wrote them, you don't need the final works?
52ANSWER: Oh, yes. I have copies of all the magazines, the comics, the books, the roleplaying books I wrote -- besides just personal pride, you never know when you may need to send samples to someone to get a writing assignment.
53Why would he need to send out samples if he's already employed?
5419)What is higher on the Rahagas' priority list, saving Rahi, or finding Keetongu?
55ANSWER: I would say saving Rahi, because some of the Rahaga don't believe Keetongu exists.
56Those little guys are so dedicated
5720)From a previous PM, you stated, "11) Objects do not have destinies. They are objects." when asked, "11)Do Kanohi have to be destined to change in order for them to become Kanohi Nuva, or are all masks like that?" Yet from newer Q and A, you've said, "Depends. If it was not their destiny to transform, they would be destroyed." when asked, "3. What would happen if a Matoran or other powerless mask were dipped in energized protodermis?" Which one is it?
58ANSWER: Yup, got me there. It pretty much has to be the latter answer, because there is too great a preponderance preponderance of anecdotal evidence in the storyline for it to be any other way.
5921)Since the Great Disks combined form a Disk of Time, (or a Vahi, depending on your outlook on the movie,) what would lesser-powered disks of the same powers make?
60ANSWER: Something else.
61Makes sense
6222)I don't mean to seem like I'm pointing out your errors or anything but, when I asked you, "13)Could an Po-metruran, or a Ta-Metruan make defects in the Vahki, so if in trouble, they could give a signal to the Vahki, and they would stop their pursuit?" you answered, "The problem with that is that none of these Matoran are really engineers, they're crafters. So it would have to be done by trial and error, and the first time a Vahki you worked on goes wild or something, everyone will know what you have been up to." Yet in Web of the Visorak, Onewas seemed to know precisely the inner workings of the Vahki, thus finding out how they changed.
63ANSWER: Hey, I don't mind :) I don't really see this as a contradiction. Knowing how something works and being able to alter its programming are two different things. For example, if someone works in a car plant, they know the power of the engine and what hooks up to what to build the inner workings of a car. They won't necessarily know how to fix one if it breaks, though. In this case, Onewa had been involved in the building of the Vahki, so he could make a logical guess as to what might have happened and the evidence bore him out. That doesn't mean he could have altered a Vahki himself.
64A long question deserves a long answer
6523)While the metallic exo-skeleton seems to last indefinitely, but what about their organic parts, when will they cease to function?
66ANSWER: All I can tell you is that BIONICLE characters seem to have an extremely long natural lifespan.
67I bet they can have all of the stress in the world and they won't get a heart-attack
6824)Do the Matoran still play the sports that were introduced pre-Kolhii, (like Ignalu, or Raft Racing?)
69ANSWER: If it was invented on Mata Nui, Mata Nui Matoran do, yes.
70I guess the MNOLG 2 team just switched focus
7125)Did you have to persuade the set designers to make the Toa Norik and Toa Iruini, or were they on board?
72ANSWER: I had nothing to do with this decision. What I contributed was to the decision to take prototype models and make them Norik and Iruini, as opposed to say, two totally new characters. The models already existed. I have very little influence on set design itself.
73What other ready-to-use prototype models do they have, probably most of the sets seen in the bonus LoMN featurees

1Latest Q&A's.
2#1. Are Visorak intelligent creatures or do they just respond to Sidorak's/Roodaka's commands without any criticism? 31) They are intelligent, yes
4#2. Is bionicle.com going to be upgraded by European or American releases? (or both?) 52) Last I heard, there is an update planned for the end of this month
6#3. Do you ever mind BZP finding sets so early on? 73) Not much I can do about it
8#4. What's your favorite movie? 94) The Usual Suspects 10Yup, great movie
11#5. Is Keetongu an intelligent, or a beast like Rahi? 125) Intelligent
13#6. Is there a chance of seeing Krahka in the B3 movie? 146) No. Of course, since she looks like anything she wants, you could see her and not realize it. :)
15#7. Is B3 going to be the final Bionicle film? 167) It's the last one we have planned right this moment. But you never know what might happen in future. We kind of feel like people are getting "used" to the movies now and aren't so excited, so we want to back off a while.
17#8. Will we ever see the Toa olda again? 188) Offhand, I am not sure. The Nuva you will see, but the Olda's major roles in the story were on Mata Nui (which you saw) and sleeping in their canisters. So not sure what stories we could tell about them.

11QUOTE 12Hey hey, Greg. I finally found Web of the Visorahk last week. 13Only have a few questions, this time around.
141.)To start off, the cover. I was studying it after I finished reading the book, and was wondering...are the Visorahk pictured on the cover the actual toys, or CG?
152.)In the terms of storyline, how much time elasped between this and the last Bioncle book? Reason I ask, was because of Vakama being so reckless, as if he was itching to rescue the Matoran, as if they were on Mata Nui for months, rather than weeks.
163.)"Vahki transports are built for calm seas, not storm-tossed." I thought the Toa Metru were the first to use Vahki Transports in the sea, so how could they be built for calm seas?
174.)I can't find the actual passage in the book, but on the Lhikan II there's a paragraph about "Swamp or sinking the ship" I know what sinking is, but I've never heard of something swamping a ship, so what did you mean when you wrote that?
185.)I know your probally tired of Roodaka as queen questions, but I was wondering, how will it read in the second print? would the word queen just be replaced by viceroy?
19and last but not on Web of the Visorahk, 206.)The gate guardian is described as 54 to 156(if I recall correctly) cm, now I'm not sure how that converts to inches and feet, but from the sounds of it, would that make the Gate Guardian's false appeance a sort of 1:1 scale to the toy?
21Aoi

221) I believe the cover is taken from the key visual, which is an artistic rendering of the toys.
232) Book 7 pretty much picks up right after Book 6. But if you remember, Vakama was already displaying signs of impatience and short-temperedness in Maze of Shadows. It is not so much that the Matoran have been down there so long as that he feels responsible for the fact that they are there at all.
243) He was making a joke.
254) A ship is swamped when water comes over the bow and floods the deck. Enough water coming over can cause the ship to founder.
265) Yes
276) Kind of hard for me to say, because I do not have a built Gate Guardian to compare to a built Toa.
28Greg

29QUOTE 30Hiya, Greg. 31Hope we can ask you a few questions about the own Toa Contest. 32If so,
331.)Is the name already chosen, or do we provide the name of the Toa?
342.)Will the winner get updated on how their character is written, or do they find out when the book is released?
353.)If we write over 100 words, what would happen?
364.)could we include multiple pictures?
37Aoi

381) The name would be chosen by us. The problem with soliciting names from entrants is that 99 times out of 100 the names do not pass legal checks.
392) They will pretty much find out when the book comes out. I am going to have about 2 weeks from the deadline of the contest to the due date of the book, so I won't have time to do updates.
403) You would give me a little more to work with, that's all.
414) If you want, sure.

1I just got these questions answered a few minutes ago, so here they are. None of them are that interesting, and #4 were pretty obvious when I think about it now, but, anyway:
2I just got Maze of Shadows and Web of the Vhisorak at my Borders, they actually had it this time, so I didn't need to ask for them to order it like you suggested earlier. So anyway, I read them, and it wasn't good, but it was great: I really liked the vivid imagery you used.  So anyway, here are some questions. Like before, they are random.
31) In Voyage of Fear, Nokama carves the image that Gali later finds in Tales of the Masks. But, I noticed that the tunnel was underwater when Gali found the carving, but it wasn't when the Toa Metru went through it. Maybe the water level somehow rose, blocking the tunnel and also blocking one of Metru Nui's suns? What would you say?
41) The tunnel did get flooded, yes, but it did not block a sun.
52) Also in Tales of the Masks, Gali fights a huge tentacled creature. Was that creature one of the ones the Toa Metru fought in Voyage of Fear, and it somehow managed to get into the tunnel before Onewa sealed it?
62) Don't think so
73) Were the Rahaga Toa when they went to Metru Nui?
83) No, definitely not
94) About how long has the city of Metru Nui been around? Thousands of years?
104) Yes
115) I noticed that Toa of certain elements have certain traits that correspond with their power. Such as: 12Fire Toa: withstand extreme heat 13Ice Toa: withstand extreme cold 14Water Toa: larger lung capacity, swimming ability 15Earth Toa: greater physical strength, good night vision and hearing(?) 16Air Toa: stealth and agility(?) 17Stone Toa: can sense weak points in rock
18But, I'm not sure on the traits of the Air and Earth Toa. Do you think they might be correct?
195) Yes
206) Do the Turaga actually understand Nuju's language to an extent? Because Vakama seemed like he could understand Nuju when they were talking in Maze of Shadows (when Nuju said the word Hordika). Or, is it just that the Turaga have known Nuju for so long that they can make educated guesses in what he's saying?
216) It's pretty much that they have known Nuju for over 1000 years and can pretty much guess from his tone what he is saying
227) Just wondering about Toa: In the process, do Matoran also get more acute senses (i.e. hearing and vision) as Toa, in addition to greater physical and mental strength, speed, agility, etc?
237) In some cases, yes.

1Here we are:
21. Will Karzahni's return be in 2005 or 2006? 31) 2005
42. When he does return, will it be a separate being from the one the Toa Metru faced, or the same consciousness? 52) Same consciousness
63. Could Pouks trip multiple creatures with one Rhotuka? 73) I would say no, unless .. he tripped the lead animal in a herd and the others fell as a result.
84. What is the difference (in effect) between the Snag, Snare, Silent, and Suukorak Rhotuka? They all seem to be paralysis. 94) No. Snag and snare is about tying someone up, not paralyzing them. Silent does do paralysis, that is true, but all Visorak Rhotuka have a default paralysis power. It only makes sense, since they need you standing still to web you up. Suukorak's main Rhotuka power is electrical field.
105. How can Lhikan have come to Metru Nui from another place when he was a matoran and there are no matoran on other environs? 115) The latest information I have from Denmark is that they have done a 180 and now say that there are Matoran elsewhere.
126. How can Lhikan and Nidhiki be from the same group when one is matoran, the other is spider-centaur-ian? 136) Why would all Toa need to have been Matoran first to be in a group together?
147. Can you rule out the possibility that Tahtorak is a fully-transformed Hordika? 157) Yes, I can. Tahtorak is a Rahi
168. Will we get an explanation in BA #8 for why Krahka, Tahtorak, Roodaka, and Zivon are fighting? 178) Yes, definitely
189. Any plans to have the Toa encounter other combiner rahi (besides the Gate Guardian or Kahgarak)? A scene with the Sea Spider would be especially cool. 199) It's hard to say, because 10 is not written yet
2010. Is there any relation or interaction between the Chute Lurker and the Silver Chute rahi (is it a spider or a scorpion?) 2110) There is no connection between them, no. And it's a spider.
2211. Are Kahgarak created as Kahgarak, or do the other species transform into them with experience? 2311) No, Kahgarak come into being as Kahgarak
2412. Is there any biological relation between the normal Visorak and the Colony Drone? If not, how did the Visorak survive before they met and joined the Colony Drones? 2512) I see colony drones as sort of "supply wagons." Where the Visorak come from, they did not need colony drones to feed ... but when on campaigns, they do.
2613. Has Sidorak always been the Visorak king, and has he always looked as he does now? Is he technically a Visorak, or in a species all to his own? 2713) He is not a Visorak. And I tend to doubt he was always the king, but I have no hard and fast info on that.
2814. Is there an environ somewhere with a whole population of Roodaka-creatures, or have they been conquered by Visorak? If not, why have they not had any interaction with the matoran? 2914) Roodaka does come her own land, yes. But the Matoran have not been everywhere, and there are no Matoran living where she lived. Think about how many centuries there were people in Europe before they ever discovered Native Americans.
3015. Did the Lhikan's group/Dark Hunter war take place before or after the invention of the Vahki? 3115) Before
3216. About how many Dark Hunters have there been (more or less than 10)? 3316) Oh, way more than 10
3417. And can you say whether or not Nidhiki was the only ex-Toa Dark Hunter? 3517) No, I don't have sufficient info to say that.
3618. What is Keetongu doing in Metru Nui? 3718) Waiting
3819. Can you guess as to whether or not Lhikan's group had ever heard of Keetongu? What about Dume's group? 3919) No, it is highly doubtful any of them had heard of him. Why would they? He isn't native to Metru Nui, and the Visorak were not an issue for those groups, so they would have had no need of him.
4020. I want to get this straight once and for all. Krahka, Tahtorak, Nivawk: which ones are personal names, which are species names? 4120) Tahtorak and Krahka are species names. Nivawk is a personal name.
4221. Which of the two three-Hordika combiners are you considering for appearance in the first novel of 2006—the dragonish one or the more Kaitaish one? 4321) You will have to read the book and find out, it is way too early to discuss '06 storyline
4422. Was astrology always part of the matoran culture (even when they lived underground), or did Vakama's group of Turaga introduce that? 4522) Well, we know the Ko-Matoran studied the stars in Ko-Metru.
4623. Will we ever find out what spirit stars are really? 4723) Eventually, yes
4824. If Jaller's mask had been put into EP, would he have come back to life since that was the what his mask was ultimately used for, thus making that its destiny? 4924) No. EP cannot restore life to the dead.
5025. How long have you known the origins of the Bohrok? 5125) I have always known what their intended purpose was and why that was their purpose. Figuring out who built them was a logical extension of that
5226. When will we meet the beings who ordered the creation of the Exos? This year? 5326) They will be referenced in this year's storyline, but not actually appear as characters until the next major story arc
5427. Are you revealing Krekka's species and home world, in-depth stuff like that, or just more like his job before he was a Dark Hunter, etc.? 5527) EDIT: I put in the wrong answer for this one, I'll try to fix it ASAP.

Vakama The Red Dragoon

8Q: If you look at this picture<http://www.bzpower.com/Imaging/stories/Iruini_and_Norik.jpg> it certainly appears that it's a Kiril...
9A: And there is a story reason why it looks like a Kiril, but is not one, and it is tied into the reason it is silver and not red. Same applies to Iruini's gold mask.

16. How can Lhikan and Nidhiki be from the same group when one is matoran, the other is spider-centaur-ian? 26) Why would all Toa need to have been Matoran first to be in a group together?

3Cool.. So this means Nidhiki came from another island where there are four-legged Matoran or something? 4Hmm..

1I believe that Mr. Farshtey actually means: Who says that Nidhiki and/or Lhikan were once Matoran (although it's generally believed that Lhikan was one)?

1I think what he really means is: who says that Toa have to be the same species to be in a group together?
