1There is no #1 postition open, so Mata Nui can't be a #1 for a while. 2The Skrall don't have the #1/#2 active Glatorian,as they have around 500 active ones, and they're all good enough for it not to matter. 3It's 2/2, people.

1i just wanted to know somethings about the skall
21 how many special forces skrall like stronieus are there 32 is there a name for the skrall special forces, like skrall SWAT 43 does tuma have a title like general or king 54 would the skrall army that captured areana magna move straight towards any other citites 64A if so can you list them in priority 75 would the skrall use the bone hunters to track down the agori and glatorian tio prevent word getting out of their attacks

81) Not that many, that's why they're special 92) No 103) Leader 114) We'll find out in July 125) Too late for that. Everyone knows they hit Atero, there's no way to cover that up.

1Hi Greg. I was looking on BS01, and some things caught my attention:
21- What of TSO and Pridak's meeting in Karzahni? I would have assumed Tahu's group would have found them.
32- I was looking at their former armies, and saw Nocturn, which reminded me: What happened to the Pit prisoners when Hydraxon, Lesovikk, and Sarda left?
4Thanks Greg. Sorry to PM you so soon after the last one.

51) Only if they hung around there long enough to be found, which they obviously did not 62) They are imprisoned still in the Pit.

1Hey GregF, just 5 questions. 21. You're not planning to reveal the actual process of Matoran "birth", but can you say that some form of Protodermis is used in the process? 32. Are Matoran products of Protodermis? 43. Before the EP was discovered, did the Great Beings use other tools/materials to create things? 54. Are Matoran the first beings to be created by Great Beings? 65. How long did it take for the Great Beings to start building the MU until Mata Nui's awakening? 7Thanks. :)

81-2) I can't discuss it at all, period, under orders from people higher up than me 93) Yes. You don't use EP to build things -- you use it to transform or destroy things. 104) I would say no, because we know they experimented with organic life prior to ever making Matoran. 115) A matter of months, I would say.

1Hey Greg. I have some questions for you, if you can answer them.

21. Would you consider Ackar... noble, or heroic, in any way?
32. In the Bzpower translation of 'The Crossing' Strakk describes Kiina as a bully. Is this fitting for her?
43. How young is Gelu? You said that he was much younger then Strakk, but do you mean he is as young as Gresh? Or is he just younger than Strakk?
54. This question is specifically for my short story. Will we see the replacments for Malum and/or Gelu this year?
65. If you can't answer this one, do not even bother saying anything about it. Can you confirm whether or not Scodonius rides on the Kaxium V3? If so, can you say if he is the driver or passenger?
7Thank you so much for answering these. Have a great day.

81) Yes 92) In his eyes, yes, but how much do you trust his opinion, knowing what you know of him? 103) Just younger than Strakk 114) No

12Some cool new information. :) I am just glad that Ackar is a good guy.
#6686
1Okay so we have #1 glatorians for important fights, #2 glatorian for less important fights. 2Now where do they Agori who battle in vehicles come in? Do they fight for territory disputes? Are they just for entertainment? What villages employ these agori? What makes these agori so special?

31) They fight for the same reason Glatorian fight -- they don't do fighting as entertainment, it wastes energy. You don't waste energy when you live in a desert. 42) All villages do, but they fight only for their village. They don't have the option of switching that Glatorian do. 53) Same thing that makes football players or baseball players special.

1Hello sir, I've been reading in the OGD and have a few questions based on some things I've seen.
21. Strakk is Iconox's number 1 fighter, Gelu the number 2. In most cases the summer sets are more experienced, but, what about this instance? Is it due to Strakk's near cheating, or cheating, methods? Or is it just that Strakk is more skilled? Or can't you tell us?
32. The reason Vastus didn't fight the Skrall was because he had just fought three other battles. Will we find out about those at all?
4Thank you.

51) Strakk is more experienced. He's older than Gelu and has been fighting for longer. 62) No, not relevant to the story. Glatorian fight in matches all the time, not every one is important to story.

7Interesting.
81. Can you tell us how young Gelu is? Like Gresh young? Or older? Younger maybe?
9Also, a new one.
103. I was just thinking, do Zesk, and possibly, Vorox, have any way to show that they're going to strike? Like normal animals would? Like an indication, "back off or I attack" sort of thing. So, do either, or both, have anything like that? 113a. Can you tell us if so?
12Thank you.

131) Older than Gresh, younger than Strakk 143) Haven't thought about it, really, but it might be something I introduce one day

16So alot of the summer sets will be young glatorians. Interesting....

1Personally I figured: 2Vorox: you'd best be smart to just stay away and not wait for a warning. 3Zesk: maybe a hiss and slashing of the tail, then it pounces if you don't move.

1When will we be returning to the Matoran Universe? Bara Magna is pretty cool and all, but, due to the storyline, we have to eventually return to the Matoran Universe, don't we?

2I can't discuss future storyline plans.

3I suppose I could have expected that :). I had another question though, about last year. The Av-Matoran homeland was mentioned quite a bit. In Swamp of Secrets, we received a flashback of Karda Nui, where the Av-Matoran worked. My question is, where did they go at the very end? Wasn't Karda-Nui the Av-Matoran homeland, or was it a different land entirely? And where does the Time Slip fit into this? I'm terribly confused...

4Karda Nui was not their homeland -- remember, we referred once to their "colonizing" Karda Nui -- you don't colonize your home, you colonize somewhere else. Their home was inside the dome ABOVE Karda Nui, so that when the stalactites dropped from the ceiling during the Great Cataclysm, they fell in with them.
5As for the Time Slip, that took place after they had already left Karda Nui and returned home (when Tahu and his first team where there the first time).

6Let's see if I get this straight. The Av-Matoran first lived on the continent above Karda Nui, but were sent to Karda Nui to help prepare for the 'awakening' of Mata Nui. The Toa Mata arrived to protect them from the Avohkah, and when their work was done, the Av-Matoran returned to the Southern Continent. Some time later, the Time Slip occured, and some Av-Matoran were displaced. Then the Great Cataclysm struck, and Voya Nui Rocketed upward, causing the land on which the Av-Matoran lived to fall into Karda Nui, since the land was on the stalactites. Is this brief history correct?

7Close, but not complete. VN rocketing upward did not cause them to fall in, the stalactites falling caused them to fall in.

8What caused the stalactites to fall though? The Great Cataclysm?
9I'm not being annoying, am I :(? Please let me know, I'd hate to bother you.

10That is what caused it, yes

1A few questions I had about the newest level three reader. Warning: Spoilers.
2Hey Greg. I just got Desert of Danger, and had a few questions about it.
31. The vehicle Metus is driving looks an awful lot like the Thornatus. Is it the Thornatus, or merely another vehicle that looks like one? 41b. If the latter, how does it end up with Perditus? 52. Sunlight appeared to have a corrosive effect on the sand bat, which seems like a pretty extreme reaction, even for a creature that thrives in darkness, why is that? 63. Metus' saying about the sand bat having a real name which is too long to say; was this true, or an exaggeration? 74. Do you remember who the artist will be for the third reader?
85. Which came first, Matoran or the First Rahi? 96. I recall reading somewhere that Spinax's species, the energy hounds, were created by the Great Beings; is this true?
10Thanks in advance if you can answer any of these ^^.

111) I don't know if the artist worked from a movie still or from existing sets. And if it is a Thornatus, why do you assume only one could exist on the entire planet? 122) Cause that is how I wrote it. 133) True 144) I thought I heard they were talking to Dave White about it, but I do not know if he took the job or not. 155) I'd have to check the old timeline I did 166) I don't recall ever writing that anywhere. The only Rahi I remember saying the GBs created were the dinosaur like ones shown in the novel back in 2004.

17Thanks for the speedy reply ^^.
181. So Thornatus is a model type, kinda like a Civic would be a Honda type? 191b. Is that what the V at the end is for, designating model type? 201c.. Why was Metus heading to Vulcanus in the first place? 216. I believe people made a slight assumption, as Spinax was seen prior to the awakening of Mata Nui, so the Makuta could not have made it. Could the Order have possibly dabbled in Rahi creation?
227. Tarduk's fate is never explicitly revealed in the comic after the Skrall attack, as he isn't seen with the resistance team; does he survive and return to Vulcanus?
23Again, thanks in advance if you can answer these.

241) Yes 251b) Yes 261c) Metus travels all over -- setting up Glatorian matches, training his fighters, recruiting, etc. 276) Unknown at present. 287) Tarduk is not from Vulcanus, he is from Tesara, so would make more sense for him to go back there.

29The last bit about Tarduk returning to Vulcanus was my mistake, I meant to say Tesara. At least we know he survived =D.
30And my favorite bit is about the vehicle classes. Very nice touch.

1Just some concerning Certavus, Tuma, and other stuff.
2It's been quite a while since I sent a PM, but anyway, I hope you don't mind answering a few questions, GregF. Those you can't answer, leave blank if you wish.
3Story 41. Since Certavus formerly served the Ice Tribe, did either Strakk or Gelu know him personally? 51a. If not, did any of the other current Glatorian?
62. Following Certavus' death, when were Strakk and/or Gelu hired by the Ice Tribe?
73. Given Tuma's motivations for attempting to conquer Bara Magna as explained in Empire of the Skrall, is he not truly evil so much as vengeful because of what happened to his kin?
84. While there are female Skrall, the Vorox, as we know, regressed into near-beasts, but are there female Vorox and Zesk as well as male?
95. Who's the oldest Glatorian among the current?
106. How old are Glatorian and Agori compared to the Matoran Universe inhabitants?
117. What do you consider to be Mata Nui's most fatal character flaw?
128. How might Makuta's schemes have played out had every single sub-plan he had succeeded, disregarding whether or not they were designed to fail to begin with?
139. Since Mata Nui himself was created a long, long time ago, is he capable of dying of old age as well?
14Misc. 151. I've noticed over the years that some of the names of certain characters seemed to be derived from various cultures, examples being Keetongu, Tahu, Taku, Papa Nihu Reef, Crotesius, Certavus, and so on. Do you and the story team take influence from those cultures?
162. Now that the story's transitioned from the Mata Nui saga to Bara Magna, what do you enjoy most about the transition?
17That's all, and thanks in advance, GregF .
18-Xeno

191) Both did 202) Strakk was active while Certavus was fighting, and Gelu was a trainee 213) I don't consider him vengeful, I consider him to be acting out of what he thinks is self-preservation, combined with a total lack of consideration for any being who is not a Skrall. 224) Yes 235) Ackar 246) Older. No MN inhabitant is much older than 100,000 years plus a few months. We know there are Glatorian who were active in the war that preceded Mata Nui's creation, which puts them over 100,000 years old. 257) Being too out of touch with his own internal workings. 268) He would have seized Metru Nui 1000 years ago and never felt the need to become Mata Nui himself. 279) Like any machine, he is capable of breaking down at some point, sure.
281) I can't speak to the 2001 names, because I was not around for that. Later names were not, as far as I know, intentionally lifted from other cultures -- they were simply names that sounded good and passed our Legal checks. 292) I think the fact that Bara Magna is so wide open. The MU main stories tended to be confined to one location -- Mata Nui, Metru Nui, Voya Nui, Karda Nui, etc. -- where with BM, I can range the story all over the planet.

30Concerning the cultures question, that's just something I noticed recently and wondered about for quite some time.

11. How does Malum control his launcher since it's mounted on his shoulder? Via implant?
22. Are the tubes on Tarix and Berix natural or implants.
33. Since Gelu is retired, is he the oldest of the canister sets?

41) Yes 52) Parts of their armor 63) Gelu did not retire because of age. He retired because, after the Skrall attack on Atero, there is a lot more profit to be made escorting caravans across the desert than there is fighting in the arena.

7Leader class Skrall are born leader class, correct?

8Correct

21. how exactly is Vezon insane, is he phycopathic, has no sense of logic, or see's purple dancing elephants type crazy? 32.Was there anything special about the toa metru as far as power level or where they essentially generic toa? 43.If Matoro Inika created an ice statue would it be constantly charged with electricity or just when i9t was forming. 54.With the Inika weapons like Kongu's lazer cross bow, did it shoot a proper lazer or just electric air. 65.In federation of fear Vezon was described as being less intimidating than the rest of the crew, is Vezon scrawny or just not titan huge. 75b. Since Takadox was not present would Takadox be weaker or still stronger than Vezon? 86.I may of asked you this before but if given the option would the mahri transform back into the Inika, giving up their amphibity and current masks for their old masks and lightning abilities? 96a. If some would and some wouldn't who would change and who would not. (i.e. Hahli would in my opinion probably not change but Jaller would.) 107. would the "Toa" ignika be considered an honorary nuva, mahri, both, or neither? 118.After reading a chapter of BiA i saw my dad reading a book titled "Brothers in Arms" and went on to find many more story serial names in different places, especially Comics. With the exception of Gali Nuva Blog, Mutran Chronicles, Riddles of the Great Beings, and Empire of the Skrall, have you gotten all of your names from outside media? 129If Gohrast Hadn't killed Krika before hand could he of survived the energy storms by lowering his molecular structure to a very low level? 1310. Could Krika turn invisible? 1411.If LEGO went out of business or dropped BIONICLE would you be able to continue on with the story on your own, free of all the restrictions LEGO gives you? 1511b. would you? 1612.of all the characters who have died in BIONICLE who would you bring back if you had to bring back one person but could only bring back on person? 1713.When Matoro first sacrificed himself in Inferno (one of my personal favorites i might add) was that foreshadowing, character development or what? I did like that part of the book and i felt it was a great touch, but it only took up a little bit and didn't really move along the story, just added more seriousness. 1814. Of all your books which one do you think turned out the worse?
19Im sorry about the load of questions, O GReat one, i understand if you are to busy in your vast schedual to awnser,
201) I would define him as a violent sociopath 212) Standard power level 223) Just when it was forming 234) It shot energy, not air. It was not simply a focus for his Toa power 245) Take a look at his set, he's not that bulky 255b) I would say Takadox would be stronger, simply because although he is not a big fighter, his muscles are used to functioning at extreme depths. 266) Since the option isn't going to be given to them, it's not something I have thought about. 277) Neither 288) Nope. For example, Mystery of Metru Nui, Raid on Vulcanus, Legends of Metru Nui, etc. obviously do not come from elsewhere. But, as with comics, I have no issue with using titles that are common expressions if they fit the story I am telling. The phrase "brothers in arms," for example, dates back to the Middle Ages -- it wasn't invented by modern writers, it's just used by them. 299) No 3010) No. Invisibility has to do with bending light around yourself. Krika could make himself ghostly in appearance, but not invisible. 3111) No. LEGO owns the rights to BIONICLE and its characters and its trademarks. I could not use any of them without permission from the company. Even if the company went under, which it's not going to do, my assumption is the trademarks would revert to the Kristiansen family. 3212) I have no interest in bringing any of them back. They all died for a reason. 3313) Yes, it was intended as a foreshadowing, so was his experience with the invisible hand in the tunnel of darkness. 3414) I think the weakest books are usually the movie novelizations, because of the three I have done, only one was my story and none of them were my dialogue.

11) Roughly, what's the population growth rate for the Agori and the Glatorian? Are there new ones coming into being all the time? 2If so, is the death rate such that the population remains fairly stable, or is it increasing, causing there to be a greater need for resources? 3If not, is it shrinking, so that one day the Agori and Glatorian will go extinct?
42) If the implants used by the Agori and Glatorian are so sophisticated, how are they able to use them and pass them along to new members of the species without any technology? Are the implants just designed to be really easy to pass from person to person?
53) I was reading this in the Official Greg Dialogue Topic. When you told Tahu Nuva Unleashed that the Av-Matoran lived in caves just above Karda Nui, would these have been the same caves that the Matoran of Voya Nui and Axonn took refuge in on their descent to the southern continent?

61) Not something I have worried about, since I don't need to know for story. 72) They were well designed 83) Most likely those would have been a upper region of the same caves, yes

9Well, number one was no help, but number two explains a bit.

1Hello, sir. I am a member of BZP and BS01 and I was wondering if you could please answer some questions:
21. Is the name of the fire village Vulcanus derived from the 'Vulcan', the Roman god of fire? 32. Is Skirmix's name derived from the word 'skirmish'? 43. Who is your favorite 2009 character? 54. Why are Skrall such good fighters? 65. About how many Glatorian have been killed or seriously injured during Arena matches? 76. How is it that the Vorox have accepted Malum as their leader? 87. Approximately how many Agori live in each village?
9Thank you and I hope I am not bothering you.
10~KH~

111) Yes 122) No 133) Haven't decided 144) Because, like the ancient Spartans, their culture puts emphasis on that particular ability 155) Impossible to tally, but death is extremely rare -- Glatorian matches are not to the death, and killing an opponent in the arena is treated the same way as a boxer killing another one in a match. Injuries, of course, can and do happen all the time. 166) Because he defeated the alpha male of that particular group of Vorox. 177) Hundreds

1Hey Greg. Had a few quick questions about The Crossing, if you wouldn't mind answering them.
21. The match that Gelu lost, was that to Ackar or Malum? 32. How long ago did Gelu retire? 42b. If it was long enough, at least, for Gelu to have faced Malum, why is Iconox only now sending out payment?
5Thanks in advance if you can answer any of these ^^.

61) Ackar 72) After the attack on Atero

8So he retired not that long ago. Interesting.

12Unless he can't walk, he has all the experience he needs. All he really does is follow whatever he was hired to protect and defend it from any dangers. All he needs to know is how to walk and fight, and good watch out skills don't hurt.

1He probably faced a Skrall in the arena and lost, of course. But like I said, by the time the summer story starts, he should already have real experience.
#6713
1What experience do you need? All he's doing is walking a lot, and fighting if need be. He's a Glatorian. Preeeety sure he can fight.

1Official 2009 Story Topic is a place where it can be discussed. :)
2Hey GregF, just one question. 3Does every single Glatorian and Agori have implants? 4Thanks.

5Most do, because if you don't, you are giving everyone else an unfair advantage over you in the struggle to survive

6Alright thanks for the quick answer. 7But I do have one more question that follows this. Were the implants made before the disaster struck Bara Magna? Or can the Agori actually create the implants? 8Thanks again.

9Before. Agori do not create things.

10Hmm, I wonder if they were before the war or after the war. Probably during the war, because you don't seem humans everyday with implants of that nature.

1Some new info..kinda intersting
2Hello Mr Farshtey, here are some quick questions, I hope you can answer them:
3Nui-Caves/ Av-Matoran Homeland
41)In a recent post, you implied the Nui Caves (the place where Axonn hid the Matoran when Voya Nui was returned to the SC) were an upper part of the Av- Matoran homeland. Could you please confirm this?
5Ahkmou
62)Ahkmou is now the new Turaga of Metru Nui. But what happened to the old ones? (Dume, Vakama, Nokama and the rest) Are they imprisoned? Killed? Or are they still part of the council, with Ahkmou as their new leader?
72a) Also, now that he is a Turaga of sorts, does Ahkmou wear the full Turaga regalia? (a badge of office, some clothing, etc)
8I hope you can answer all this questions...
9...thanks for your time .

1Good morning, Greg .
2Would you answer, please, is "The Crossing" take place before or after "The Fall of Atero", and before or after "Riddle of the Great Beings"?

3Part of it takes place before Atero, part of it takes place after, and some of it takes place before ROTGB.

#6718
1Yeah ... I'm sorry if us BS01 staff members are bothering you with particular questions. Anyways ...
21. When an Av-Matoran becomes a Bohrok, what determines what type of Bohrok it will become, or is it random? 32. What are your opinions with the relationship between Av-Matoran and Boxors (AKA Bohrok)? 43. Setwise, Atakus, Fero, and the Skrall (at least part of their swords) have the same sword piece, are they the same type of sword canonically? 54. Atakus has swords created by technology alien to Bara Magna. Are the weapons used by the Skrall and Bone Hunters also made by the same alien technology? 65. Would there be a connection between the Dark Hunter Charger with Artahka Bulls and/or whatever creature is guarding the map that the Blade Burrowers are digging underneath Metru Nui? 76. How many of the Nynrah Ghosts are Fe-Matoran? 87. How approximately long would it take for a Thornax to become ripe and over-ripe? 98. Are there Thornax farms on Bara Magna? 109. It's probably obvious, but can Thornax, like any other fruit, be planted in the ground and thusly can grow to become a Thornax tree?

111) Based on their destiny 122) Not sure what you are asking. Once you are a Bohrok, you are artificial life, basically a machine run a by a krana. You can't feel pain or emotion anymore, so you aren't really alive in the sense that we know life. You no longer have any personality or memories of your time as an Av-Matoran. 133) Related types, yes 144) Not that we know of, no 155) No 166) Some. I don't bother keeping count because I have no need to do so 177) Again, I am not doing a story on Thornax farming, so I don't worry about this 188) No. 199) Yes, if you want to use it like that

20Ok, so an Av-Matoran's destiny determines what type of Bohrok it becomes. 21Atakus, Fero, and the Skrall have related swords. 22Only Atakus' swords are alien-made. 23And Thornax is like any other fruit when it comes to planting.
#6719
1just some questions.
2Mr. farshtey, I have a couple questions for you: 31. If teridax wante, could he make a rahkshi of shadow? 42. why doesn't terry remake the visorak? I mean, he controls the universe, which means he knows where al hte EP is. Well?

51) I think if he could have, he would have before this. There are only 42 varieties we know of, and I think that's it. 62) I would assume because he sees no need for them right now. As you say, he controls the universe -- and Visorak live to conquer. If you already run everything, what is there for them to conquer? Visorak are a lousy army of occupation, they want to be on the move claiming new territory all the time.
