2I remember over 10 years ago reading the first Bionicle comic..... Man that's a good memory. I thought it was awesome. It's what got me into writing/drawing comics, and I also remember going to the store to buy Tahu.
3Thanks for making me a LEGO nut.
4Oh and question: Have any of your stories/ideas ever been rejected by LEGO? If so, what reason?
5Not that I recall, no. Being a LEGO employee, I pretty much know what I am and am not allowed to do.
6Thanks!
7Another question: Did you do any writing work for other things before LEGO?
1Oh my goodness! This is so cool! Mr. Farshtey, I have some questions for you, and hopefully no one has asked them yet.
21. What was your inspiration for Bionicle and NInjago?
32. Who is your favorite villain from Bionicle?
43. Who is your favorite ninja from Ninjago?
54. Can you give us any tips as a writer?
6Thanks for your time!

I was wondering, during episode 25, "Return of the Overlord", Ninjago, there's one scene where Lloyd is asking why the Garmatron is heading towards the coast, he's wearing his old outfit. Ten seconds later, he's in his Kimono again! Is this a glitch? And in "Ninjaball run", when Kai is asking if Nya just tuned up their Ultra Sonic Raider, he's in his original gear (Instead of his ZX gear). Also, I noticed you changed the theme song of Ninjago during the first few episodes of the season, "Rise of the Snakes". Why is this? If you think I'm criticizing Ninjago, I'm not. I'm a big fan of the show and the sets! I'm going to get Garmatron tomorrow.
2I don't write for the TV series, so I can't answer this.
3Fine by me! Least I got to chat with the guy who helped create Bionicle!

2Was Ehlek mutated in the Black Waters?
3Why didn't he just return to the surface, using the breathing apparatus he already had?
4I have to say, and I know this will be a disappointment, but detailed questions on BIONICLE story are going to be a challenge for me to answer. It has been about three or four years since I was writing BIONICLE every day, and a lot has happened since then, so I do not recall a lot of this stuff now. I haven't been immersed in it in ages.
5That's okay.
6Yeah, you don't re-read everything every couple years- Bionacle isn't your job anymore.
7The answer is probably "Then there wouldn't be six Barraki".

2eBay maybe
3And Amazon. I've looked. I still need to get some.

2Probably Dark Mirror Universe.
3And no, I haven't seen it

2Yes. Specifically, I would go back to 2002 when I did the comic signing at Toys R Us in NYC. I was with the artists who worked on the comic and Marty Pasko, my editor at the time, and we had a really good time -- about 1200 fans showed up.

8Yes. I wrote for West End Games for seven years before LEGO -- I did three novels and a bunch of game books.

4I just finnished reading that book yesterday. It is EPIC! That is also my favorite book from Hero Factory. Is another Secret Mission book in the making? Or is the next one going to be for the 2014 story?
