2Also, how long has the return of BIONICLE been in the works?3My involvement has been doing some consulting work on the story, providing some feedback, stuff like that. I did not write the new story.
4As for your second question, I don't know exactly. By the time I was brought into it, it was fairly far along.
5And when were you brought in? This year? 2013? Even before?
1Hello Mr Farshtey,
2Seeing as Bionicle 2015 has officialy been anounced I assume I can ask questions about it (about actleast everything LEGO has officialy said/shown)
31. What is your opinion on the mask of creations design? Do you feel it lives up to what you described it as in the stories?
42. LEGO's described the mask as something that can grant unspeakable power and 'made from raw magic and solid gold'. Was any of this canon with the original story?
53. LEGO said the story would be about a 'battle/quest for the masks of power', is this only a quest for the mask of creation or is there more than meets the eye?
64. Will the mask of creation have a name like the other kanohi do?
7and one for the original Bionicle series:
85. where did the Av matoran tak refuge on spherus magna?

2I need to ask even though you probably dont know much about this but, Will we get any more media, info, or anything until Comic Con? Assuming that Bionicle will appear there that is.
3BIONICLE will definitely be featured at NYCC. I do not know what the plans are, if any, to release more info between now and then.

6Early last spring.

91) It didn't need to fit with my description (I don't even recall describing it, to be honest)
102) Don't assume it has to be.
113) You will have to wait and see
124) I have not heard anything about it getting a name.
135) Unknown at present

2So... do you think LEGO will give you the job o making comics or graphic novels again?
3I do not know if there will be a comic series or not. As for graphic novels, if there were any, that would be done outside of LEGO by a licensee, and it would be up to them who they used for writing. LEGO does not dictate that.
1Mr. Farshtey,
2Happy days are ahead! Fantastic news today; glad to see the line's revival has been officially confirmed. While I'm disappointed to hear you won't be helming the story, I'm very glad that you're still involved in some capacity.
3I suppose the only question I can think of at this juncture is the following:
4I can't help but be curious as to what brought about the desire to bring back BIONICLE at this point in time. I would be interested in hearing your opinion as to what the catalyst was for the theme's revival (or if you know concrete information, that'd be better, but I doubt you would be at liberty to disclose that).
5Thanks for your time,
6Mesonak

7I don't have specific info, but knowing what I know about LEGO lines in general, I would assume it was a combination of a perceived need for something new in buildable action figures and focus testing. It's doubtful they would just go, "BIONICLE!" and that would be that. It would be tested against other ideas, maybe old ones, maybe new ones, before any decision got made.
