2Because of declining set sales.

1How mad or panicked were you when people started asking about BIONICLE 2015?

2I was neither. I spent seven years answering questions on a major BIONICLE fan site. I learned early on that there is some segment of the fan base that will always look for spoilers -- and while I don't support that, I can't stop it either. So I expect people to be talking about stuff long before we would like them to, and as long as it is not a result of my accidentally leaking something, I have no reason to be upset.

1 First of all, I must say that it is absolutely incredible to be able to talk to you, Greg! Smile

2 So, I don't know if this was asked before, but do you have an idea of how long Teridax's reign lasted? I'm writing a story that is set during this time, so this information is quite important. Also, are ghosts possible in the Matoran universe? For example, can something happen during the teleportation process of a deceased being causing it to not be completely teleported and instead remain partially trapped inside the Great Spirit Robot ( sorry if this doesn't make sense)?

3 Thank you in advance.

4Buried.

5What is being teleported is the body itself, not just the spirit, so an incomplete teleportation would not result in a "ghost." The whole concept of a ghost really comes down to whether MU inhabitants have souls or not, and that is not something we go into since it touches on religion.

6As for Teridax's reign, not that long. I did not see Mata Nui's adventure on Bara Magna being more than a few weeks, tops, and that all took place during his reign. So I would say maybe a month.

1I think this got buried:

21) Can we establish an upper limit for the lifespans of the Matoran Universe inhabitants? I was thinking that they could live up to ~600,000 years. What do you think?

32) I understand that the exact strength of a Toa has been kept vague, for the sake of allowing it to adhere to the story's needs. However, can you establish a rough strength range for the Toa as a whole (for example, between 1 to 5 tons)?

43) How will the Vortixx, Skakdi, and Steltians fit into the new society on Spherus Magna? Will they be segregated or face other restrictions due to their bad reputations, or will all species be granted equal rights?

54) Do the matoran use a date system similar to ours, with times of the day (i.e. four o'clock), named days of the week, named months of the year, etc.

65) Are the fifty-odd remaining Toa on Spherus Magna going to band together into one large team? It seems like a good idea, since the matoran aren't going to be spreading out over the entire planet any time soon.

76) Am I allowed to give you some theories on MU anatomy?

1When will the new Bionicle story section take place in relation to the first 3 movies? The only reason that I think it could be a coninuation of the old story is that there's been no news about a new Makuta figure, which may be because Teridax killed all of the others when he took over Mata Nui's origonal body.       HappyHappyHappyHappy

1Hello Greg,

21) The Great Spirit Robot and the Prototype Robot are made of metallic Protodermis, right?

32) It's possible to generalize Mimic's photographic reflexes to a great photographic memory in the canon?

4With that, besides these photographic reflexes, he could replicate exactly and instantly something written or spoken by someone, or reproduce perfectly something that he would have seen.

53) Do you know the Skakdi's powers of Nektann?

6It are the ones used by the member Kraahlix in Retribution, his winning short story at A Thousand Years Untold 2?

1 Greg, if you could be the writer for any TV show, which one would you like to write for?

2The new story is a reboot, Zev, it is not intended to be a continuation of old story. There is no point in looking for a connection to the movies. To the best of my knowledge, the events of the movies did not happen in this storyline. The reason is very simple: old story ended almost five years ago. Most of today's 8 and 9 year olds -- the ones most likely to buy sets -- were 3 and 4 at the time. Expecting them to catch up on old story to get into new BIONICLE would be unreasonable.

2Maybe Flash, that might be fun.

71) They are made of metal, but whether it is simply metallic protodermis or it is protosteel has not been determined.

82) I don't see them as the same thing. In the comics, Taskmaster had photographic reflexes, but he could not remember anything he read or saw perfectly. It's not the same talent.

93) I don't remember us ever officially deciding on them, and I do not remember the story you are talking about.

81) Is there a reason we need to do this?

92) Nope

103) It is going to depend on how they behave. If they contribute, they will have some place in the society. If they don'tor they are disruptive, then they will be excluded from it.

114) We never established that for the Matoran. We used Earth time references in stories to help reader understanding, but we never came up with a system of time for them.

125) Who says they won't? We have no idea what shape this new society is going to take or how quickly.

136) You can, but I am really not inclined to start canonizing anatomy issues. I don't see them as being relevant to the storyline and it's the sort of thing that can easily mushroom into contradicting all sorts of things that were written before.

2They have a sneak peek website up. Did you not know about it? Are you not writing the new stories? Please tell me you're writing them.Disappointed

3What you were quoting is an old post, Epic. And no, I am not writing the new stories for BIONICLE 2015 nor am I on the story team for it.

If a Toa who already completed his/her destiny were to be locked up for a long period of time in the vicinity of an activated Nui Stone, long enough for the Nui Stone to completely drain the Toa of Toa Energy, what would happen? We saw these possibilities:

1) The Toa would be left with zero Toa Energy but remain a Toa. Since he/she never gave up any of his/her Toa Energy willingly, and will never be able to do so again because he/she is "empty", he/she will never be able to turn into a Turaga.
2) The Toa would be left with a miniscule amount of Toa Energy, some tiny last bit that even the Nui Stone couldn't drain. The Toa could later give this bit of Toa Energy up to become a Turaga.
3) The Toa would be left with zero Toa Energy and remain a Toa, but the Toa could still mentally develop further and come to a point in his/her life where he/she would say "If I would have had the choice, I would have given up my Toa Energy now. It was drained before I was ready to become a Turaga, but now I am ready to become a Turaga." and this change of the Toa's mental state and attitude towards life could trigger his/her transformation into a Turaga.
4) The Toa would be left with zero Toa Energy and turn into a Turaga. This however contradicts what you said earlier about Toa having to CHOOSE to give up their Toa Energy.

Which, if any, of these options is the correct one?

Many thanks!

3I personally would lean toward #1, however -- you could also have a case where the Toa is locked up and CHOOSES to remain so for some reason (maybe to protect others), and so could become a Turaga because he chose to remain in a situation where his energies were drained.

1Hi Mr. Farshtey, I have a few questions about "Kingdom of the Snakes" graphic novel (all these questions are referring to beings and events from alternate universe):21. Is "Kingdom of the Snakes" a name of this alternate universe?32. What happened to Lloyd? (Only thing we know about him is that he unleashed Serpentine.)43. Did Lloyd opened all five Serpentine Tombs or only three like in prime universe?54. What is Pythor's role? Is he a Snake King like in prime universe, one of Serpentine generals or only a soldier? Because Bytar mentioned him, but he didn't specify who is Pythor in this universe.65. Who rule the Serpentine? Five generals (one from each tribe) or Pythor as Snake King?76. How was Great Devourer awaked?87. In TV show portal created by Golden Weapons teleport Garmadon to seperate "dimension of darkness" where dark magic grant him a power to wield four Golden Weapons (and two additional arms), and later he returned to Ninjago. Did alternate Garmadon escape from Underworld in the same way? Because its very similar - both use Golden Weapons, have four arms and can use all four Golden Weapons.98. Shortly before Jay saw Constrictai City he say, that he probably isn't too far from Kai's village. Was Constrictai City Kai's old village?
10And one hypothetical question about BIONICLE: Can Skakdi Fusion hypnotize someone and let him/her dream about revival of someone?

11I think these questions got lost.

121) No, it's just the title of the book.

132) I did not write backstory for the new universe, because I didn't need it. So the only info that exists on this universe is what is in the book.

1Hello!

2Just two questions: can users of Light control other electromagnetic spectrum waves?  If not, could there theoretically be beings who could?
