Hi Greg, I have questions about kaitas.

1: In theory, can 3 kaitas of the same species form a double kaita?

1.2: Is it the same for nuis?

2: can Spherus Magnans form kaitas, in theory?

1) No. Doing something like that would result in the formation of a Nui, and we already know a Toa Nui is not possible.

1.2) Not to my knowledge

2) No. SM inhabitants cannot merge their bodies together at will, anymore than humans can.

1. why isn't a toa nui possible?

Story team decided a long time ago that it wasn't. It would be too powerful and would unbalance the story, since anytime there was any real danger, the Toa could just form a Nui and crush the enemy in 35 seconds.

Hello Greg,

After 78 votes, the winning Kanohi on the poll for the Toa Mangai of the Green to wear is... Mask of Healing. The reasoning was actually good too. They said that since the mask requires the bearer to have basic knowledge on what needs to be healed, and Bo-Matoran are good healers, the mask and the Toa of the Green would work hand in hand. Plus, they thought there would need to be a healer in the month long battle. Do you approve?

I appoligize if this is asking too much, but can we please vote for the weapon of the Toa also? It's already an entire community-made Toa, might as well finish it off.

Thanks.

on the topic of the "black ops" concept for the Mangai...

I think that, if it wasn't for Lhikan having a massive statue in the center of the collisium, that would be the best idea for the mangai. Sadly, he does, and it's a shame because that black ops concept is, put simply, awesome.

Perhaps the ga-matoran's statement of "i've never seen a toa before" could be equivilant to "I've never met the president before"...Metru nui is so large (i don't know the size off the top of my head, sorry) that the matoran just wouldn't bump into them every day.

...but since the black ops concept is so interesting...Perhaps the mangai came as a black ops team, but stayed as a toa team?

you said if someone had another idea, you'd be open to it...what do you think?

Matoran Kanohi Questions

  1. Did Ehrye, Vhisola, and Orkahm keep their masks from Metru Nui on Mata Nui? No storyline source has ever suggested that they didn't, but BS01 demands explicit clarification in order to add it to the pages.

  2. On a tangentially related note, how frequently did Matoran on Mata Nui break their masks and replace them?

  3. If we know which mask a Matoran wore on Metru Nui, is it safe to say that they wore the same mask on Mata Nui?

Shadow Takanuva Questions

When a previous message asked if the Shadow Takanuva wore the Kanohi Avohkii, you answered that they "would not wear masks that promote peace and light". However, in the same post, you said that their masks looked like the 2008 Avohkii (the one that was partially drained of light). This is a little confusing to me, so if you don't mind my asking, can you clarify what the situation is with the Shadow Takanuva's masks?

1. Do the Shadow Takanuva wear Kanohi Avohkii?

2. If these Kanohi Avohkii have been light-drained, does that mean their powers have changed?

3. What are the powers of the Shadow Takanuva's masks?

Atakus & Velika Questions

1. How and when did Atakus come to work for Velika?

2. What's the full story with Atakus' blades? Did Atakus find them, or did someone else find them and later give them to Atakus? Were they found in a baterra weapons cache (as the Skrall believed), or a Great Being cache, or something else? Did Velika plant them there, did he know about them, or did he only hear about them when Atakus reported them?

3. Does Velika have any special plans for the Skrall? Does he see them as potential allies or enemies?

4. The baterra were never shut off by their failsafe, but after the Shattering, a period of 100,000 years passed in which they did not appear to do anything of note. Is Velika perhaps the reason that they suddenly wiped out the Skrall's northern empire?

Miscellaneous Question

1. After the Toa Nuva freed them, did the Bahrag make new Bohrok-Kal to replace the old ones?

Thank you.

So would Takanuva end the war or side with one GB faction and destroy the other?
Is there a Kanohi for each of the Rhakshi powers? (Even though the Toa would consider many of them immoral)

I have question about the Kanohi Kraahkan and the Kanohi Avohkii.

- Could another Kraahkan and Avohkii be made?
- If yes to the Avohkii, was the Kanohi Avohkii made from Protosteel as well or some other form of Protodermis?
- If yes to both Kanohi mask, could the two mask be made into the Kanohi Mask of Light and Shadow again by the Energized Protodermis, so another could wield this mask?
- Dose Toa feel that the Kanohi Kraahkan power are immoral?
- Did the enslaved Matoran who made the Kraahkan, lived in Metru Nui or Artakha and what happened to this Matoran?

Both are okay by me.

Greg, there has been some consternation over the way the Kanohi poll was handled. Namely, some fans think the Mask of Rahi Control should still have been included in the poll, for a variety of reasons.

  • First, a Toa with a Mask of Rahi Control (Kualus) has already battled the Kanohi Dragon once, and the mask did not prove to be helpful. (In fact, he didn't use it at all.) This would seem to be in contrast to your ruling that the MoRC would be overpowered in a battle against the Kanohi Dragon.
  • Second, if the Toa Mangai were formed in response to a Rahi attack, it would be logical for them to seek out a Toa with a Mask of Rahi Control, even if that mask didn't ultimately prove helpful.

So say the supporters of the Mask of Rahi Control. Other fans say that the MoRC may have been especially rare in the Matoran Universe, or may not have been widely known. Still others propose a compromise: perhaps the Toa of the Green wore a Mask of Healing (a logical choice, since Bo-Matoran are known to have an excellent knowledge of medicine), and some other Toa Mangai wore the Mask of Rahi Control.

Several fans are hoping to redo the poll. Keeping the above arguments in mind, would you say that the Mask of Rahi Control is a viable candidate for the Toa's mask, or not?

I don't see the Lhikan statue as being the stumbling block here. The Lhikan statue could have been to honor his contribution to the fight with the Kanohi dragon or the Toa-DH war. It was after the KD fight that the team decided to stay in Metru Nui.

1) I would say no. Masks are made from heating and cooling liquid protodermis. The Matoran do not have access to liquid protodermis on Spherus Magna and won't in the foreseeable future.

2) No

3) Only if the masks were destined to be transformed, otherwise they would just be destroyed

4) Yes

5) I don't have this information.

1. Krana can't fit on toa metru heads properly on sets, if canon-wise. Could matoran and toa with toa metru heads get controlled by krana like normal mata heads?

2. Why don't Toa bother wearing kanohi that have association with the makuta even if it's not considered immoral?

Given Lhikan's upstanding nature, I'm not sure that he would be great at doing black ops, but he might not need to be. What if the team split into smaller groups, one to deal with public threats, and one to deal with more low key stuff. This sounds right up Nidhiki and Tuyet's alley, so they'd probably be apart of that, especially Nihdiki, given his sneaky nature and mask of stealth. Perhaps even he would lead that portion of the team, until his betrayal. I feel like the public section of the team would deal with threats like rampaging rahi, which what Lhikan was stated to do in canon anyways. These Toa would be the public defenders who give the Matoran a sense of security. The more undercover section might deal with threats that they didn't want Matoran knowing about, like some Dark Hunter infultrations, which might cause panic.

Given that matoran quote from "mystery of metru nui", it would seem that at least lhikan wasn't any sort of black ops. also, in the serial "the many deaths of toa tuyet", tuyet, along with nidhiki and lhikan, seemed to be operating in the open a lot. similarly, in "birth of a dark hunter", nidhiki makes a comment about how toa don't sneak b/c they are supposed to work in the open so the matoran trust them. also, i would say that during the toa/DH war, the mangai were operating pretty openly, at least judging from stuff like the serials and books.

buried... are you leaning towards the mangai being black ops or more public? i also like the point someone else on here made about meeting the president. everyone knows about him, but few have actually met him, analgous to this matoran's reaction to meeting nokama.

Inside the red star is it biomechanical? because in the series The powers that be it was written: They were in a circular vestibule. The walls seemed to be a combination of metal bands and organic tissue, much as he imagined the inside of a Toa. He reached out and touched the walls, they were cold as ice.

How Kopaka and Pohatu will do to get out of the red star now that Gaardus is gone?

How velika was aware for the disappearance of kopaka pohatu and lewa? Is what gaardus and a of the agori of bota magna are agents of velika?

Now that umbra has quit the MU for spherus magna is what umbra will protect the ignika again?

Is what the mastery of the gravity powers of mata nui is the same that a toa of gravity but the difference is that gravity powers of MN is no elementary?
