1Dear Greg,
2Just one question. What good is a staff to the heat vision rahkshi? the heat vision comes from its eyes.
3Thanks.
4I think you could probably ask the same question about a lot of the 42 Rahkshi powers, couldn't you?
5Oh yeah... but I have a few more questions now,
61. Does the alternative teridax control light? 71a. How is that possible?
82. Teridax left Aqua Magna right after learning to control his new powers. What are they?
93. Have there ever been any toa of sand?
10Thank you very much.
111) I don't recall if we have ever shown him doing that, but it would be possible if he learned how to do it, in the same way that Roodaka had shadow powers. If you can connect with the "good" side of your self, then you can learn to manipulate light. 122) No, Teridax left Aqua Magna when he felt confident any internal rebellions were under control 133) No. Sand is not an element in the Matoran universe.

1Lets get back O.T.
1QUOTE 2QUOTE 3QUOTE 4Hello, Mr. Farshtey.
5I sent you a pm, but I assumed it got eaten by the server.
61.) How are you?
72.) Is Perditus a workaholic, antisocial, or a combination of both?
83.) What sort of weapons do the battera use? 9a.) Speaking of which, if the battera do use weapons, why don't they turn on eachother?
104.) How proficient is the average Toa in hand-to-hand combat?
115.) Exactly how long has Gresh been serving as the secondary glatorian of Tesara?
126.) I heard that some of you're favorite characters to write for are Gelu, Kopaka, and Teridax. Why?
137.) I also heard that some of your least favorite characters to write for are the Vahki and characters who use tree-speak. Why?
148.) O.K., we know that Gali Nuva is in Metru Nui, Onua Nuva and Tahu Nuva are heading up an attack on Daxia, Pohatu Nuva and Takanuva are on Destral, and Lewa is imprisoned within Trem Krom's body. But where the heck is Kopaka? Could you please tell us specificly where he is?
159.) You have stated that during the period of time in which the Stars take center stage, the other Toa Nuva will also be there, right? If so, then does this mean that Lewa will somehow get his old body back?
1610.) Do you think we will see Artahka, in the flesh? (Or protodermis, come to think of it) In story, that is.
17Well, I hope you can answer my questions.
18Sincerely, Trimuma the bane of spam.
192) What makes you think he's either one? 203) I believe their weapons are built-in, and since they are machines, they are programmed not to attack each other 214) Varies on how much training they have had in that. 225) I don't have an exact figure on that, since I did not need one for story 236) Well, Kopaka was the first Toa I ever wrote for, Teridax became a much more interesting villain after Time Trap, and Gelu is just fun. 247) Because tree-speak is hard to write and slows me down, and Vahki basically have no personalities, so they are dull to write for 258) I'll get to it 269) I can't discuss future storyline plans 2710) I don't plan to do that right now, no, I think he is cooler if you don't see him
282.) You see, his bio clearly states that perditus aparently works so hard at his job that he forgoes almost everything else, including friendships. Well? 293.) Yes, but what TYPES of weapons? Sword, mace, etc. 305.) Care to take a guess?
31Trimuma the bane of spam.
322) I see that as being a hard worker, not necessarily antisocial. Let's face it, his work is important -- his village depends on him in matches -- so what he is doing he is doing for the good of his people. 333) Baterra will be appearing in a graphic novel next year, so we will get into that then 345) Nope

1I probably should have just checked BS01 before I asked this question, but I didn't, so here it is. I guess since BS01 is a little shaky on the subject ("a state similar to the original Toa Nuva armor") it might be useful to someone.
2I recall seeing a post that claimed that you said the Toa Nuva's adaptive armor's default form looks the same as the Toa Nuva's old armor, indicating that a 2002 set could be used to represent them while wearing the new armor. However, I am not able to find this post and it could just be my imagination. Is this info correct?
3Yes, it is
1Hi Greg
2I've got some questions if you don't mind answering them
31- About the powers that the shadow matoran possesed, namely: Sloth, blindness and vertigo induction. Did those powers belong to their respective matoran when they were still Av-matoran or did they gain them when they became shadow matoran? 41b- Do Radiak, Gavla and Kirop still posses those powers? 51c- Are these light powers or shadow powers? 61d- Could a makuta or Toa of light acces them?
72- Did the Iron tribe honor the Skopio before or after their modifications by the Great Beings? 82b- If they already honored the Skopio before their modification, how did they react to the modification?
93- Are you also planning to give prefixes to the remaining kinds of matoran? 103b- Could you maybe confirm the term Vo- matoran (Voltage) for Lightning matoran?
114- Do Agori or Glatorian also have the power to create rhotuka or is that ability limited to mu inhabitants? 124b- The same but for inner light or darkness acces
135- Do Agori or Glatorian keep pets?
14That's all for now
151) Got them when they became shadow Matoran 161b) No 171c) Shadow powers 181d) No. Remember, shadow Matoran have no light in them, so they could not access any light-based power anymore. 192) Both before and after 202b) The modification made the Skopio deadlier, so they had no issue with it 213) Only if I need to for story 224) MU inhabitants 234b) Same answer. 245) They probably could and do, but when you are struggling to survive, having yet another mouth you have to feed is not always the most popular course of action
11) Would a pre-Shattering Bota Magna Agori have some special features? (I heard something about Bota Magnans being half-plants) 22) Would Lein be of the same bent design as Tarduk? (four legged, with claws)
31) No. The whole half-plant thing started over the last 100,000 years, not before the war. 42) Probably, yes
51) So this plant-thing is still canon? I thought that story was cancelled.
61) If it is canon, that is the story -- it's a reaction to what happened to the planet -- but it's not canon until it actually happens in story.
7I asked this because of the potential of a Lein contest. Click the link in my signature for more info.
1. That'd be like saying Tahu is red because his armor is burning.
2No, it actually is a plausible idea, considering the Vahi is red because it's rusted.
3Exactly my thinking.
4That would mean every single Matoran and Toa of Iron is completely covered in rust. And has no personal hygiene skills whatsoever.
5Yeah, I think rust would be an awkward explanation. Now, if they were orange because rust is orange and thus the color is tied to their element... now that would be a worthwhile explanation. But something in Greg's response makes me think that he's going to have some less obvious explanation, which could be a good or a bad thing. I'd personally be a bit happier if he just said that "Iron has orange armor on Bara Magna; no explanation necessary".

5Nobody is talking about Matoran OR Toa. 6We're talking about the Agori who have been abandoned in a desert for many years.... 7When all of your friends are dead and you are rejected by everybody because they're scared of you, I doubt you have much care for personal hygiene. 8I think it's an extremely plausible hypothesis.

9We'll see what Greg decides, I don't really see why they'd be sooo much rustier than anyone else, the water tribe would probably rust faster, but we should stop speculating and wait until it get's revealed

1Yes, you are.

2Like any metal, it would depend on the quality and/or composition of the armor. I know that the element is not specific to Iron, and Greg thought it sounded better than 'metal', but in our universe iron rusts like heck, and stainless steel doesn't. Maybe the Iron Agori use a metal exclusive to Bota Magna, that rusts more easily than the metals the Bara Magnans use. Maybe it's just because their armor is in very poor condition because no one will repair it for them. There are many explanations of why their armor would be rusty and others wouldn't. Look at the Vahi. It used to be golden. How many other rusty artifacts have we seen in the MU?
3Anyway, Greg will provide an explanation, regardless of what it is.
4Hi Greg,
5I recently read in your blog that you have picked Iron to be the element associated with the plagued tribe, and you mentioned that it doesn't match their armor color. But is this really a problem? I don't recall you canonizing a color specific to beings of that element, but even if you did want it to be gunmetal gray, for example, couldn't you say that Sahmad's and Tellirus' armor had been rusted and corroded from prolonged exposure in the desert, or that they had at some point picked up new armor, possibly to disguise their plagued Agori appearance? 6I mean now that you are not tied to the sets anymore, and these are the only two members of that tribe that have ever been pictured, you could easily come up with a way to make them exceptions to the tribes color selection.
7Thanks for your time.
8I already have an explanation for the armor color question, it will get covered in the Sahmad story on BIONICLEstory.com
9As you can clearly see here, as well as the other multiple times he has said it.

1Dear Greg, 2Could it be possible that radiation could be a toa element
3A said toa of radiation could control only alpha rays, beta rays, gamma/ X-rays, and neutron rays.
4They could 5* create radiation 6-cause objects to become radioactive 7-cause small nuclear blasts 8* control radiation 9-cange the type of radiation 10*absorb radiation 11*unleashing a radiation nova blast 12*have resistance to radiation
13I know you said radiation does not affect the armor of MU citizens, but they are 15% organic and radiation affects organic parts. Radiation sounds destructive to be a toa element, but plasma is a toa element and it is pretty destructive.
14Thanks for reading this, 15Auto
16I'm really not interested in adding a load of new Toa elements into the story at this point, and I don't really think LEGO is going to want a Toa running around causing nuclear explosions.
17I guess a toa running around using the power of a nuclear bomb was not a wise idea. 18Back to the drawing board.

1 Hey, Greg. Lately I've been wondering about the Bohrok's role (if any) that they have during the Reign of Shadows. This has led me to the following questions:
21a) Near the end of the Destiny War, Krakua awakened the Bohrok under Metru Nui. Are these Bohrok still active?
31b) If they are active, are they fighting for Teridax, the resistance, or have they managed to find some way to be "neutral"?
42) Also, are the Bahrag active right now? If so, are they on Teridax's side, the side of Mata Nui/the resistance, or have they managed some way to be "neutral"?
51) None survived 62) Bahrag are neutral. They tend to be very isolated where they are
11. Any chance you would wright a serial about what went on at Bota Magna after the shattering?
22. Could the Spirit's Wish teleport someone off of Bara Magna if they desired it?
31) It's possible 42) I would say no, I think you would run into a range issue. I think it could have teleported someone from that chunk of the planet to elsewhere on the planet back when it was whole, but teleporting through space might be a bit much.

21Actually, no. The answer we were looking for is: That intro spat in the face of the canon, and "worn by a Toa warrior" was just a way to describe that the mask is meant to be worn. I am fairly certain that it was merely for that purpose.
22It can (thankfully) be interpreted to be canon, however, and you two both have good suggestions. The reason why is purely superficial, though.
1Hi Greg, Thanks very much in advance for taking the time to answer these questions for me.
21) What would you say is your personal favorite moment in the bionicle saga so far? 32) Are there any characters or events that you have regretted creating or causing? 43) How much say do you have in the design of the sets? 54) Back in 2000, when you first started writing the story, how far did you imagine the story would go for? 65) If you could change one thing in the whole story so far, what would it be? 76) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believed that the Toa Nuva's destiny was to awaken the great spirit. As they have now done that, and in turn completed their destinies, should they turn into Turaga or something like that? 87) Are there many things that you've wanted to do with the story, but couldn't? 97a) Is it possible you could bring some into alternate universes? 108) Continuing with Vezon, i read on BS01 that "Vezon was considered an unofficial Dark Hunter by the Shadowed One. His entry in the book of Dark Hunters was torn out and burned because the Shadowed One expected Vezon to hand over the Ignika when he got it, and that didn't happen." At what point was Vezon recruited by the Dark Hunters? 119) One thing has been bugging me for a while. Artakha transported the Toa Nuva into Karda Nui after Voya Nui rejoined with the Southern Continent (i think that's right), as the entrance to Karda Nui was sealed, so...how did they get out afterwards? 1210) When the Toa Nuva entered Karda Nui, their adaptive armor kicked in. Did the Mistika/Phantoka, while they were in Karda Nui, have different forms to the ones they had in the Swamp of Secrets, or are their forms universal. 1311) Do you have any advice to help young writers?
14Thanks very much in advance.
15Toa_Vezon
161) I don't think I have one. 172) Nope. 183) None. 194) I wasn't writing the story in 2000 -- I didn't come to work for LEGO until the end of that year. And for most of the next several years, the overall direction of the story was being decided by Bob Thompson, not me. 205) Probably Vakama going bad in 2005 216) To become a Turaga, you must fulfill your destiny AND choose to sacrfice your Toa power. The Nuva have not as yet chosen to do the latter. 227) No, not really, and no on 7a -- had there been things I wasn't allowed by LEGO to do, they wouldn't allow them in alts either 238) I don't have an exact timeline on this. 249) That got dealt with in the comics -- they used the Karda Nui vehicles that were hidden in the Codrex. 2510) I don't understand your question 2611) Read, a lot, particularly writers who are better than you are. That is the best way to learn.
279) I know that they used the vehicles in the Cordex, but the entrance, and therefore the exit, to Karda Nui was blocked, so how did the vehicles escape?
2810) Yeah, reading back I didn't phrase it as well as I thought. What i meant was: When the Toa Nuva came into Karda Nui, the adaptive armour activated, and gave Kopaka, Pohatu and Lewa the Phantoka forms. When Tahu, Gali and Onua entered, did they have different forms to the Mistika armour, or is their adaptive armour for Karda Nui the same wherever they are, and it didn't change for when they entered the Swamp. 29I think that makes more sense.
30Toa_Vezon
319) The upper entrance was, yes, but there was a side entrance, the one Icarax used to get in. 3210) They did have different forms from the Mistika armor, but we did not show this in comic
33Aha, that makes sense about Karda Nui. Thanks
3410) is it then logical to assume that the Phantoka had different armor when they went into the Swamp?
35Again, many thanks 36Toa_Vezon
3710) I'd have to say no, because I believe they were shown in the swamp scenes in their old armor.
3810) so would it be logical to assume, again, that the Mistika have a different kind of Adaptive Armor to the Phantoka?
39also a few new Questions: 401) When/If the Nuva transform into Turaga, taking Kopaka as an example, would his mask look like the one that Solek has? 412) As Kiina is the only female character we've seen in the 2009 story so far, excluding the Sisters of the Skrall, and she and Tarix were part of the same tribe, do all the tribes on Bara Magna have Glatrorian of both genders? 423) on the final page of Comic 15: Secrets and Shadows, there is a moon in the back of the picture. Is this possibly Bota/Spherius Magna? 434) As it was Vakama and the Metru's destinies to awaken the Matoran after Teridax's plan in Metru Nui, so, now they are Turaga, what are they supposed to do? Haven't they completed their destinies? 445) When Tahu and the gang arrive from the Matoran Universe, surely they're going to have some problems/stubbornness in accepting this Glatorian/Toa as the great spirit that has protected them for so many years, so how is Mata Nui going to convince the Toa that he is who he says he is?
45Toa_Vezon
4610) Why? 471) Yes 482) Not necessarily, no. There is no Glatorian quota system. If a female trainee is good enough, then she gets to fight for her village. If not, she doesn't. Same with males. In some villages, it is possible none of the females have made the cut. 493) From what year? 504) Their destinies as Toa, yes. Not necessarily their destiny for their entire life. 515) Not going to be an issue, as they will never see Mata Nui in his Glatorian form. He is already in the prototype robot when they arrive.
5210) Well, the Mistika changed their form when they went into the Swamp, but the Phantoka didn't (And I'm not counting the forms they used while piloting the Vehicles). 533) It was the last comic of 2003, Just before Vakama started telling the Nuva about Metru Nui. It probably isn't, as you hadn't thought of it at the time, but it would make some sense if it was. 544) So every being has a set of Destinies, E.G: Matoran destiny, Toa Destiny, Turaga Destiny and Overall Destiny? 554a) Do the Glatorian have destinys the same as the inhabitants of the MU?
56Toa_Vezon
5710) That was purely a set thing, though, it's not related to story. They didn't change their form because the artist has to draw existing sets. 583) It's possible, but I am not an expert on the cosmology of the BIONICLE universe -- the whole AM is a moon of Bara Magna thing came from Denmark, not from me 594) Everything that exists has a destiny 604a) Yes.
61Possibly some new things in there somewhere
11. Was Gresh's predecessor one of those mentioned who was killed in an arena match with a Skrall? 22. Have any previously unemployed Glatorian joined the mega-village? 33. Does Ackar have a deputy? 44. Is Branar leading any fragment of the Rock Tribe? 55. Is Atakus with Stronius' party.
6Thank you.
71) No. Where was it said that Skrall have killed opponents in the arena? 82) Probably, yes 93) Kiina 104) No 115) No
121. In RoV, it says that many Glatorian went to Roxtus to fight and didn't return, and that the Skrall blamed it on accidents.
131) Ah, so it actually does not say they were killed in the arena -- just that they did not return. And no, he did not die in Roxtus.
141. I thought it was implied. My misunderstanding. 152. Okay. 163. Interesting. 174. Oh well. 185. Oh well.
1Hey GregF, just few questions. 21. You never specified what a Toa of Psionics would absorb, as all Toa absorb something. What would a Toa of Psionics absorb? 32. Would a Nova Blast be a more severe and widespread mind-damaging blast? 4Thanks.
51) Hmmm. Do we know that ALL Toa absorb something, or only that the Toa we have seen in story so far absorb something? 62) Yes
71. Very interesting answer. Touché.
1Well, that slightly changes the definition of "Elemental Power" I suppose.
1Yaaay we can all MOC Turaga Nuva of Kopaka, Pohatu, and Lewa now .
1Hi Greg,
2So excited for Sahmad's Tale, can't wait. Also, the Mata Nui's Guide to Bara Magna is a masterpiece, thank you very much.
3I just had two quick question about the Great Volcano, located at the center of the Valley of the Maze.
41) Is the tower from Comic 5 Valley of Fear (http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/File:Comic_Mata_Nui_in_Valley_of_the_Maze.png) where the Great Volcano is located? Does this tower serve almost as a smokestack for it? Because both the tower and the volcano have been referred to as keeping secrets of the Great Beings, I figure they are one and the same location. I just wanted confirmation of that, if possible.
52) Are the forges of the fortress in the Valley of the Maze, where you told me the Kanohi Ignika was forged, fuelled by the heat and power of the Great Volcano? Or was the Great Volcano the forge itself, kind of like Mount Doom with the One Ring?
6Thanks for your kind attention.

91) I'd rather not go into this, as it comes up in 2010 story 102) The question you have to ask yourself first is, is the volcano really a volcano?
11So I guess we'll just have to wait on this one.
12
13Volcano ain't Volcano?
14I know, the Great Volcano is actually the GB fortress where part of the Golden Armor is . And that smoke that was seen comming from it was the forge?
15BTW, why Greg doent's answer all my questions D:?
1Hey Greg, 2Been about a year since I've asked you any questions so though i'd spin you a line.
3Firstly, many thanks for canonizing a 16th Toa element, been looking forward to having 16 for quite a while, though pity you didn't canonize the pink color idea we were throwing around in the OED Topic ;P.
41)In Regards to the Ce-Matoran and Toa of Psionics, We have not seen any in the Storyline on account of their non-existance, though is there an lore/story based reason as to why we haven't? 5We're they hunted down by Makuta along with the Iron/Magnetism/etc Matoran as they were a Threat? 6Did Helryx Take them into protection/ hide them/ draft many into the OoMN/ or even possibly eliminate them after researching them?
72) Do you have the Ability to 'Ret-con' Certain past things form the BIONICLE universe as a result of The discontinuation of sets and freeing up of room for expansion? 83) Is there anything you/you'd wish to Ret-con if you can/would? Such as the Green Matoran being male as a result of a Typo. 94) Any plans to canonize other prefix's / official colors for the remaining elements to finialize all of the debating going on in OED Topic? 105) Perchance do you stop by the Official Elements Topic at all? Theres some quite interesting discussion going on about Bionicle/Elemental Physics going on.
11Once again, thanks a lot for your time 12-Roki
131) No, there is no story reason for it, other than that most of the story has focused on Mata Nui and Metru Nui and there are no Ce-Matoran there. 142) Such as what? 153) I don't understand what you are asking -- green Matoran were always meant to be male, as far as I know. 164) Not at the moment, no 175) No, I don't.
182) I read in OGD recently that you only continued the mental link with Takua and Gali in recent years otherwise you'd be going against The things established in MNOG. That and other things that were established before you had complete control over the bionicle universe are the things i am talking about . 193) I mean as in Matoran of Plantlife, i read somewhere that you were intending to have the Toa of the Green on the fortress being a female but Typo'ed or something?
20-Roki
212) No, I see no point in retconning things out of story. That would just cause confusion, and why do that at this point? 223) I really don't recall, that was years ago
23-Roki
1Hi Greg - thanks for the great stuff about Psionics.
21) Do you anticipate it making an appearance in story? Or was this just an epic fleshing out of an expanded universe element? Either way, I'm thrilled.
3I had a couple other questions for you, if you don't mind.
42) BS01 currently has the galactic universe of BIONICLE (where the Magnas are) entitled "Wall of Stars," which is based on a term used once or twice in the Mata Nui Online Game II. It describes the astrological constellations the Ga-Matoran consulted while on the island of Mata Nui, in the same way that the Ta-Matoran used the Wall of History and the Ko-Matoran, the Wall of Prophecy.
5This seems to me to be a bit of a misnomer, comparable to calling an article on Spherus Magna "Paradise" because that's what the Matoran call it in the Legend of Mata Nui. "BIONICLE Universe" would be more appropriate - Wall of Stars connotes astrology as opposed to astronomy. Would you support me in this?
63) The Krana and Kraata have suffixes like Bo, Cu, Xi, and Ye - presumably these are Matoran (language) suffixes which identify their powers, yes? There is only repetition that I know of - there's a Krana Za (telepathy) and Kraata Za (fear) - this hopefully can be explained by the noun which accompanies by the suffix, kind of like context in English?
74) When do you anticipate Sahmad's Tale going live? Sometime in the new year, or earlier?
8Thanks for your time.
9Triggy 10BS01 Staff
111) Both 122) Sure 133) Yes 144) Hopefully, before the end of this year, though I have to get the new ROS chapter done first
1Hey GregF, just two questions. 21. You recently revealed the colors for a Toa of Psionics: blue and gold. Tarix has blue and gold armor. You mentioned that Mata Nui affiliates green with Air, even though technically Gresh should have gotten Jungle powers. By this logic, Mata Nui should affiliate blue and gold with Psionics. Now, in the TLR movie AND book, Tarix did not show his elemental powers. So this should probably be enough evidence to say that Tarix got Psionics powers instead of Water powers even though he's from a Water Tribe because Mata Nui affiliates colors with elements. Am I right? 32. Can Krana control Glatorian/Agori/Skrall? 4Thanks.
51) Sorry, no. We have never stated how many Toa of Psionics there are or have been, so there may not have been enough for Mata Nui to associate the colors with anything. Besides, Tarix does come from a water village and was wearing primarily blue, so it would make sense he would have water powers. Plus remember that Mata Nui was doing this in such a way that the Glatorian would think their weapons had the power, not them -- kind of hard to do that with Psionics. 62) No
71. This was a joke, so don't go all "hay u cant do dat" on me.
1Hi Greg, just thought I would ask you a few questions. 21. The red star has reconnected to teridax, Right? So what has happened to the toa inika's spirit stars? They were orbiting the red star. 32. Will the strange beings in the red star ever be reveiled? 43. Matoran can't make matoran, but can two glatorian or agori make more ? Yes or No. 54. could a toa of water control water vapor to make a breeze? 65. Do you think that Kiina's trident peices seperated would make good whepons for nokama? 76. Do you hope to do story line beyond 2011? 87. Can one of the elemental glatorian do a nova blast, or can only toa do that? 98. in 2010 will necktan's muaka make any apperance? (story wise, not set wise)
10Thank you for your time.
111) Nothing has happened to them, they are not connected to the red star. 122) Yes 133) I am not going to get into the whole reproduction question, unless you are writing a "Glatorian Babies" story it's not relevant. 144) We know they can draw moisture from the air, but creating breezes would be a Toa of Air power, not water 155) No idea 166) If people are still interested. I am sure that web traffic on BIONICLEstory.com is going to be looked at when it's time to make that decision 177) They could, but they would die in the process. 188) No
19I wonder why a nova blast would kill them?
