- 3Tahu is currently overseeing extraction from the MU, while his friends are all missing, with the exception of Gali and Takanuva. This is very un-Tahu behavior, and seems more like Teridax working on building his society and judging what should be easy to access or not.
- 4The robot was far too large to simply topple over, especially with Mata Nui's strength failing. It seems to be that Teridax had already left the robot.
- 5You said that Tahu only had some Kraata powers. The same is true of Makuta when inhabiting different bodies.
6Just to answer a few of these points:
72) Beings left inside the robot might well have been trapped by wreckage or in a position where they could suffocate. Rescuing civilians comes before saving fellow heroes in just about every hero team I have ever read about.
83) The robot essentially had its head crushed by an impact. That impact would certainly have been enough to make it lose its balance. At the point it fell over, Makuta WAS absent, because he was dead.
94) Tahu had kraata powers because of the golden armor, which absorbed them.

22) No. A Toa is bio-mechanical - the Ignika cannot create mechanical parts, because they aren't alive.
34) Well, we know that the Makuta were using viruses to create Rahi.
46) They don't have blood - they have some kind of a lubrication system.
57) We purposely did not have Matoran culture being real high-tech, though we did show jumbo screens in the Metru Nui movie.
69) No idea
711) I can't recall what we did as far as that
812) Don't know what you are talking about. The only BIONICLE graphic novels were collections of the original comics.
91. So that mean owner decides how and what to do with target(s), right?
102. But it did create body for itself from mud and sand and transform Click into a shield. Maybe some details I didn’t fully understand?
113. Got it, thank you. =)
124. We know about Rahi, but Vortixx or Skakdi?
135. That clears it up, thank you again.
146. You mean, there’re liquids, that keep organic tissues in work condition, hydrate and provide them with oxygen, and they correctly be called “lubrication”?
157. So that would be letters with flying/walking trained Rahi and couriers job?
169, 11. Ok, thanks anyway. =)
1712. Well, it was announced on Amazon at the same time with gr.novels 8 and 9, and was called “Power of Great Beings” (there was even a cover for it with Christian Zanier original art). It was said that Papercutz cancelled it, because eighth novel didn’t sell very good.
181) Yes
192) Yes, but it was not a Toa body - Mata Nui called himself a Toa, but he was not bio-mechanical.
204) The Makuta did not create the Vortixx or Skakdi, they would have been created by Mata Nui, most likely.
216) We don't know what their relationship is to organic tissue. Lubrication would apply more to mechanical parts.
227) Yes
23You stated at least two times that Mata Nui's body was abody of a Toa. Then how come it's organic?
maletoaofwater wrote:1My bad, I was confusing sentience and sapience - although that said, nanotech machines don't have either. So it seems to me that if they have one, then they have the other. When takua was talking to gali in karda nui before Mata nui originally booted up, he sure seemed like he had sapience - mere nanotech can't aspire to become something greater (he wanted to become a toa). So as for how they gained that trait, I think they always had it, but due to the way they were treated by the GBs, they behaved the way they were expected to, aka as a machine would. Then when they were in the robot away from anyone who might bring behavioral expectations on them, they began to realize they were thinking, rational, independent beings - their creators had effectively genetically engineered a new species. I think the role velika played in that was that he was the first individual to begin treating his fellow matoran as real people, and so people who interacted with him realized their true nature, and as more people interacted with those people, the effect spread, and the self-oppression exponentially ended.
2I think I disagree. I think something did change at some point down the line ... if not, when events caused the Matoran to forget their original purpose, then there would have been nothing to replace it. I see the Matoran as nanotech capable of a) communication among themselves and b) capable of problem-solving. But the idea of breaking away from their programming, of being "good" or "evil" would not have been part of their original design. Something caused that to happen.
1You stated at least two times that Mata Nui's body was abody of a Toa. Then how come it's organic?
2Mata Nui's body was certainly stated as being the size of a Toa. But I have been unable to find any reference online to his body being bio-mechanical. The argument for it being a Toa body is that he was able to use a mask, but we know the mask was acting on its own in some cases and we also know Mata Nui's consciousness was in the mask. So it was not "use" in the way Tahu used a Mask of Shielding, etc.
3The major question is, would it make sense for a Mask of LIFE to be able to create a non-living, inanimate mechanical object? (Yes, you can point to the scarabax shield, but is it stated the shield was a non-living thing? Or was the shape and substance of scarabax simply altered so that it could function as a shield?
1I'm puzzled. You claim that the Matoran were not sapient at that point, and yet Takua, in the flashback in Swamp of Secrets, Takua both expresses amazement in Toa Gali's skills and expresses his desire to become a hero: "You'll hear my name whenever heroes are spoken of. Takua, that's me!" This hardly seems drone-like.
2Also on the issue, are the Kestora and the City Building creatures sapient?

3I have not said they aren't sapient. What I have said is that they and their society were following pre-programmed behaviors - and that that changed somewhere along the way. It had to. Look at Ahkmou - do you really think the GBs programmed a Matoran to be evil? No. Something changed - either by accident or design - to make the Matoran how we see them by 2004.

3The Kestora are, yes. I don't know what "city building creatures" you are referring to, offhand.
