GregFCouple of things -- 1) I don't think I can share the 2009 treatment, because I don't own it. It was written under contract with Tinseltown Toons and purchased by them,so they are the only ones who can share that. The 2010 treatment was never purchased by anyone, which is why I could show you that one.
2) The whole "Earth" thing was simply because we had not yet decided what the plague tribe's element would be at that point, so Earth was a placeholder.
3) Some of this most likely will be canonized if we go to Bota Magna in story (as we most likely will, post spring 2010 .. no reason not to)
You got me at number 3, Greg. I hope you can work in the dinos.
That would've been quite a movie, although I feel the cliffhanger ending was something that didn't seem to fit a movie. Mabye it's because of how Bionicle 2 ended. Regardless, this orginal 2010 idea is intriguing, although maybe I shouldn't have read it. It might ruin my enjoyment of the actual year.
Reading this makes me wonder why Lego is willing to put one of their best selling brands on indefinate hold to try out a new concept.
Y'know, I really like this much better than TLR. But, what I feel is missing is the character depth of everyone other than Mata Nui. Except the flying off into space bit, I really like this.
Dinasours are awesome, yes. But getting right into the robot body in order to face Makuta seems so much cooler. So, if the body is powering up... who is in control of it?
OhpleasenotTumaorMetus.
That would be really cool in the predictable way, but not cool for Mata Nui.
MN: "You mean my robot body was taken over, and now my BACKUP body has been stolen?!"
The Great RedidaxIt must be Cannon. It's great. 2010 sets. Mata Nui , Kiina , Ackar (with new armor) Oris ,Terra and Likus. Lego made a big mistake. It would be great and Bionicle would have continued for many years.
I agree with EVERYBODY that has posted before, more-so ^ this guy. LEGO didn't make a BIG mistake. They made an EPIC FAIL MISTAKE. This probubly would have shot BIONICLE interest up like, 1,234,567,890,123,456,789,012,345,678,901,234,567,890% (and like, that's a BIG number)! But I'm sure they had a good reason to take out BIONICLE UNTILL FUTHER NOTIS (Srsly, if you read between the lines of that letter, you will se that it means 'no more BIONICLE sets untill futher notis).
That would have been totally epic, why, WHY did it have to end *sobbs*
biomechanical dinosaurs=EPIC WIN!!! Man, I would have absolutely loved to have Bionicle dino sets, like a warrior riding a dino(Fero and Skirmix don't count), like a Tricerotops or a long-necked herbovore... like a Brachiosaurus, that would have been totally epic and even a big T-Rex, a Stegosaurus, oooh and an Ankylosaurus would have been perfect! Why did they have to end it all early!!!!???? You broke my heart LEGO!! *sobbs hysterically*
Anyways...Lego made a bad move to end BIONICLE NOW. This movie would have been great. Oh...and BIONASAURS?! You combined my two childhood favorites! Why Lego, why?! Bota Magna would have been awesome to explore. Would have been like an Indiana Jones adventure. I am all for this script. Element Lords having an appearance would have gotten fan's attention *snaps* like that.
That... Was pure, concentrated awesomesauce. I really wish this actually made it to DVD.
That said, I'm looking forward to upcoming storyline as well. It's not like we can do too much to alter LEGO's plans, so I'm still going to enjoy what they have to let out.
Awesome blog, although it's a shame the movie never came to be. I think at least the plot for this movie should be made into a book, as a goodbye to Bionicle.
man this is so epic, well i have a EL for fire i should post it now that they have story ideas kinda... man i wont it animated. i would over the summer but I'm not all that good at flash animating yet... this is a huge win Greg thank you for showing us you care we all appreciate you big time!

awesome story!
Bionicle dinosaurs? That so ridicuously epic!
Thanks a bunch for sharing Mr. Greg, it sounded like it could've been a awesome-sauce movie.

~GreshWhat? Lego fails at timing...
also dinosaurs + giant robots = awesome!

Although I'm still wondering where Gresh went.
