Just some questions I have thought up.

1. Has the process of new matoran coming to Metru-Nui started?

1a. If so are there any new ones yet on Metru-Nui?

2. If a Rahi that the BoM created went competly extinct, could they create more if they wanted to?

3. Could a Toa of The Green control dead plants or plant material (like paper)

4. Are squids in the playsets a large breed of squid? If not what are they?

5. Who modified the Toa Terrain Crawler?

6. Are the Cordak blasters on the playsets large Cordak blasters or some thing else?

Thanks in advance.

1) No. As before, new Matoran are only created if there is a need for them. Right now, there are enough Matoran at work repairing the city that more are not required.
2) Yes
3) Plant material, yes, probably, but there is only one known fragment of paper in the BIONICLE universe.
4) They are simply a different breed
5) Axonn did
6) Larger versions of the originals

Well. Thanks a lot.

Dude, put that in a spoiler tag. I wanted to wait to get my comic to see how everything played out.

~Sidorak The Hunter

If you are referring to Falcon-Cat's post, we've known that for months, it's not even in the new comic.

I ment about the "3 days to live" thing. Anyway I got my comic today, so whatever... still should have been tagged.

We've known that for ages.
Hi: (If you can, please answer under each questions :))1) Can Mata Nui be replaced?2) Could another Great Spirit replace him?3) Could a Great Being replace him?4) Are there any other Great Spirits?5) Is it possible for anyone to become a Great Spirit?6) Can the universe survive for an extended period of time without a Great Spirit?7) What exactly did Mata Nui do? How did he keep the universe running?8) When will we know where Mata Nui is and what he looks like?9) Can you confirms if the Nuva are returning to the spotlight next year?10) Over how much time does 08 run?11) Are the Rahaga (sp?) the six returning heroes in the web serials?12) When the Nva return to the spotlight, will they be trying to save Mata Nui? Or will they have a more important job to over that year?13) Is there anything in the universe that can revive Mata Nui?Thanks :)
1) No2) We don't know that there are any other Great Spirits, so no3) No, no4) Not that I know of, no5) No. You cannot turn into a Great Spirit the way you turn into a Toa or Turaga. It is a totally separate thing.6) Only about three days.7) Hasn't been revealed8-13) I can't discuss future storyline

That would be the Preparation Scroll, a list of things that must be done before Mata Nui can be awakened, written by the Great Beings.

The Nuva's "to do" list. It was made by the Great Beings and tells the Nuva what has to be done for Mata Nui to awaken :)

So apparently, all those paper notes and scrolls in MNOLG aren't supposed to exist, according to the canon storyline.

Those could be cloth, though. We know from MNOG II that Ga-Matoran make cloth for flags and sails, and cloth can be used to write scrolls and such. ;)

What do they use to write on it? I don't think we've ever seen ink in Bionicle, and carving tools won't work so well on cloth.

Crushed up berries?

That writing looks a bit clearer and sharper than I would expect it to look with crushed berries.
#9775
Oh come on guys... If You want to know what matoran use to write on, just pm Greg. This speculation is slowly turning into spam. And we don't want spam on BZP, do we?
#9776
Hello GregF. Have you time for these?

1) If you are unable to finish Invasion, would it be possible to post a summary?
2) The Great Being are no longer in this universe. But by "universe", you don't mean "Matoran Universe", right? You mean even the Kanohi Olmak couldn't help fin them?
3) When we ask if Brutaka's or Tuyet's Kanohi could allow them to escape the Pit, you answer Botar would track them anyway. So a life tracked by Botar is worse than a life in the Pit?
4) Would you define Artakha as a Enlightened despot?
5) As Takanuva can manipulate light, can he manipulate Umbra in light form?
6) Would you say Jovan's team defeated Umbra a different way the Inika did? I would think you cannot trick Umbra twice the same way.
7) When Jovan came in Voya Nui, what did Axonn and Brutaka do? I mean, did they simply said "Oh, you're Toa. It's here, go and beware Umbra"?
8) Let's assume the Nuva would have defeated the Piraka. Because save Mata Nui is not their destiny, they would have been unable to defeat Umbra and Vezon, correct?
9) Botar doesn't look very sympathic. You said it's not impossible Botar hate the rest of his specie. I would say Botar doesn't like anyone and nobody likes him. It is right?
10) Globally, the OoMN doesn't look to be a gang of friends like a Toa team. I would say they don't encourage to have friends as it leads you to have a weakness, do they?
11) Botar didn't blame Axonn for speaking about the Order to anyone. Was it not a minor betrayal?

Thank you:

1) That's a good idea.
2) The Olmak can get you into pocket dimensions, essentially. It would not get you to where the Great Beings are.
3) I think so, sure. It's not like you can have a life, and getting a taste of freedom and losing it time and time again is worse than no taste at all.
4) I don't see him as a despot at all. His people have no cause to complain about their treatment. Artakha was where Matoran WANTED to go.
5) He probably could, yes
6) Yes, I would say they probably had to. But remember that Jovan's team had at least one elemental power that differed from the Inika's, and possibly more
7) No, they didn't challenge his team or encounter them, anymore than Axonn went to fight the Inika. The presence of the Piraka and Brutaka's betrayal was what forced Axonn to reveal himself, otherwise he would not have made his presence known to them.
8) Not necessarily. Some other twist of fate might have prevented them from getting the mask.
9) I think it is hard to warm up to Botar because of his job, the same way you might have a hard time warming up to someone who works as an excecutioner.
10) I disagree. Axonn and Brutaka were close friends for many years. But I think, as with spies in our world, you pretty much only have close friends among the people you work with, because you can't be honest with anyone else about who you are or what you do.
11) Botar knew Axonn had no choice in the matter if the Piraka were to be stopped from getting the mask.
#9777
Hello Greg :) , I have some questions:

1) Why did you (or the story team (?)) decide to have Hydraxon and Maxilos wear no masks story-wise although they do wear masks as sets?
2) When will the new Bionicle movie likely be released?
3) In which story year does the movie take place?
4) Can you give a clue how many movies are to come?
5) Do/did the Kinis on Mata Nui have any special functions besides honouring the local Toa?
6) Has anyone in the Bionicle universe ever met the Great Beings or the Great Spirit?
7) Where did the Toa Mata get the Makoki stones?

Thank you very much for your time: :)

BIONUI

1) Well, it never made sense for Maxilos to have a mask power, he's a robot -- he doesn't have individual will. As for Hydraxon, I simply felt that the story was getting cluttered with too many powers.
2) Earliest possible release date is sometime in 2009
3) If it is out in 2009, it will be 2009 story.
4) No idea. Will probably depend on how this one does.
5) Not that I am aware of
6) No.
7) The Makoki stones were used by the Rahaga as a key for the place they had hidden the Mask of Light in Metru Nui. The stones were retrieved by the Toa Hordika, and later brought by them (as Toa Metru) to Mata Nui.

Again many thanks to Greg for answering: :)

Same here.
#9781
Invasion summary sounds great. I have been dying to hear the story of it. From the necyclopedia, it sounds great.
#9782
1) In the Encyclopedia 2, there is a DH named Phantom, who was not in the DH Guide or any of the Brickmaster issues to my knowledge. Does this mean he will be in the next issue of Brickmaster?
2) Is the Betrayal Contract actually the Makoki stone? Just a little theory I had, probably not correct.
3) Since there does not seem to be much of a chance of the original BL7 being finished, due to your busy schedule, could you please reveal how krana are created?
4) Would it be possible for Karzahni, in his mutated form, to rebuild himself into an air-breather?
5) In BL6, the BoM army that defeated the Barraki was made up of Toa, Exo-Toa, Rahkshi and Rahi beasts. Why no Visorak?

1) No, he was simply a winning entry whose picture got omitted from the DH Guide, and we did not have it to run in the magazine. So I put him in the Encyclopedia.
2) No. The Makoki stone's inscriptions relate to the history and strengths and weaknesses of the BOM. What Mantax is looking for is a stone that basically says you are a servant of the BOM and so should be allowed to pass unmolested
3) That was not going to be revealed in that book.
4) It would be a challenge, since he might then drown before reaching the surface
5) Because Visorak were not being used for that purpose then. When you are trying to be a "good" army, adding giant spiders to it is frowned upon.

Sorry, guys. No Krana creation method for us, no matter what happens with Invasion. :(
#9783
EDIT; Y'know what, nevermind. Sorry for posting...

Just One Question,

What is Makutas worst fear?

thanks

I'd assume his plan failing and Mata Nui's vengeance for what he did

Asking for Invasion summaries? I was going to ask that or if he would reveal information to us, you beat me to it.

hi greg: i'm a big fan of your work. if you had any time, i'd like to ask you some questions:

1)what's your email address?
2)does maxilos's kanohi have a power? if so, what is it?
3)was maxilos designed in artahka, or some other location? if so, what is it?
4)i know there's only 2 toa teams, lessovikk, and takanuva still around. were the other 3000 toa wiped out in the toa - DH war in metru nui, or are there still many toa around besides the ones i stated before?
5)i heard you/they are already planning 2009. is this true, and have you been planning this time/year since you started working here/in bionicle?
6)are you in charge of making up the storyline for bionicle, or do you just write it down into books?
7)is takutanuva going to be in existstance again to ressurect mata nui?
8)i noticed that many names are not as creative as they used to (no offense), since hydraxon & hydruka is like "hydrogen", brutaka is like "brutal", axonn is like "axe", spinax is like "spine", etc. does the company need more ideas, or are these names supposed to be like this? karzahni is a good one though.
9)if the BoM planned the death of Mata Nui, did they know his death would destroy the planet? if so, did they know that nothing would survive? if so, have they figured out a way to survive it? if not, why would they have caused it if they know they'd probably die?
10)are there any plans for the bionicle saga to ever take place in space?
11)it is true that the MoLi will reappear in an earlier 2008 set? if so, will it be in a form we've never seen yet or will it look like as it did in the barraki mini movie on bioniclestory.com?
12)i know that the toa nuva will rereleased in different forms soon, but will takanuva be rereleased in a different form also? if so, will he come with his ussanui again?
13)why have the set designers taken away the classic gear movements and replaced them with better poseability? can't they combine them (not like the hordika but more like the metru) together?
14)are you allowed to give any hints about '08 or '09? can you? will you?
15)is the makuta found with the kraahkan loyal to the MoMN?
16)is the MoMN considered the leader of the BoM?
17)does the OoMN know that mata nui is dying? if so, what are they going to do about it?
18)how did toa jovan heal mata nui w/ the MoLi during the Great Disruption?
19)how and why did the Great Disruption happen?
20)how is it possible to destroy a makuta permanetly?
21)are you planning on having mata nui eventualy wake/heal?
22)are you the only person in the company who works with/writes the bionicle storyline?
23)if takadox killed an injured hydraxon, and willed battle his reincarnatio, does that make takadox a fierce fighter?

thank you so much in advance, greg. i appreciate you giving your time answering these. i may have more questions in the future though. thanks again: remember, my email address is pirakapower@yahoo.com.

1) I don't share that, sorry
2) No, it doesn't.
3) Most likely Destral
4) There are more Toa around than that. There are about 50 Toa currently active, we just aren't focusing on all of them in story
5) We currently have story locked through 2011 and set designs for 2009 are underway. We plan about 2 to 3 years ahead, normally
6) I am a member of the BIONICLE story team, yes
7) No. Why would Makuta ever want to do that again?
8) I suggest you try typing names into Google and seeing how many you get that get no hits. It is extremely difficult to come up with names that don't mean something of import in another language, which is something we try to avoid. Also, tying the names into existing English words makes them easier for younger fans to understand.
9) They knew his death was a possibility, and yes, they always have a back-up plan
10) No. We already have two space lines, Mars Mission and Star Wars, we don't need a third
11) It will be in an '08 set, I have not seen a final model of it though
12) I cannot discuss future set plans
13) Because we found out through focus groups that many BIONICLE fans have a hard time building with the gears. BIONICLE tends to appeal more to kids who are into quick builds, roleplaying and combat rather than MOCing, so things that frustrate their building experience hurt our sales
14) No
15) Somewhat
16) Yes
17) Sure, they do. Why do you think Axonn helped the Inika?
18) I can't answer that
19) Came about as a result of the need of the OOMN to plant Matoran of Light in various places to keep them safe
20) Well, if his armor is destroyed, and he can't find another body, his energy will eventually dissipate
21) I can't discuss future storyline plans
22) I am not the only person who works on crafting the overall storyline, but I am the only writer who works on the material at this time.
23) How fierce do you think you need to be to kill someone who is badly injured and pinned under rubble, as Hydraxon was?

--------------------

"Ha, ha," laughed Murphy. "Better to be in the onion soup than in the cold, cold ground."

also, i think those blue orbs on maxilos's mask are holographic aiming lights to help him aim his shoulder cordak blaster. think of "predator" gear.
#9787
Here are some questions I asked Greg.

1. Is Nocturn considered a Barraki?
No.
2. Have you already planned the ending of 2008?
We have already planned the ending of 2011.
3. Will the Toa Mahri change back into Toa Inika?
I cannot discuss future storyline.
#9788
1. If the Toa Mahri and Barraki play dodgeball which team would win?
2. How did Kraata-Kal became a Dark Hunter?
3. Is Makuta's master plan worse than the end of the universe?
4. If there was a Mask of Resurrection, would it be at the same level as the Ignika?
5. Why the Rahkshi are referred to as the "sons of Makuta"?
6. What does The Shadow One wants with the Ignika?
1) No idea
2) I don't have a copy of Dark Hunters at my fingertips, unfortunately. If you are really interested in the character, I'd suggest picking up a copy of the book, where he and his pic are featured.
3) Follow the story and find out
4) Don't know, cause we aren't planning to do one
5) Because they are made from Makuta's essence -- they are a part of him
6) Power, basically. If you have an object both the Toa and the BOM wants, then both sides have to do what you ask if they hope to get it

#9789
Hi Greg,

INVASION:
I read you had congratulated a member, gendraxon, on the idea of making an Invasion summery....

1. Do you think you will?

2. Where would you post it, BZP blog, amazon blog, biostory.com etc.?

3. How long do you think it would be?

4. If you are, when do you think it'll be up?
Thank you:

I might, yes, but no idea when or where

Uhm guys one question Off-topic:
But I have sent Greg PMs since Friday and never got an answer: I even asked him whether he got the Pm and did not have time to answer to avoid sending him the Pm twice. But I sent him two very different Pms one with questions and one with some info for him and I have seen im online a couple of times :(
Dunno if it is the forum that lost the mails, or Greg does not have time, or I did something wrong (dunno what I could have, Greg ane me alsways had a very polite way to communicate):

1) Do you remember if any of the 2006 Matoran of Voya Nui were mentioned by name in Legends #8?
2) Where exactly did the Barraki get their Cordak blasters (the ones later stolen from them by the Mahri) from?
a. Hydraxon's armory (BIONICLEstory.com Toa Chamber)
b. Part of Voya Nui, which sank with Mahri Nui (Encyclopedia? Correct me if I'm wrong, as I don't have it yet and don't know this for sure)
1) No, I don't.
2) I don't think it states in the Encyclopedia that the Cordak came from Voya Nui. I can double-check when I am home, but I am pretty sure I never wrote that.

This leads to the question -- do any of YOU guys know what it states in the Encyclopedia? (I've been forced to rely on Wikipedia for the past few weeks, so I'm not sure about what misinformation I'm getting.)

Jetslandingboard,

I have the Encyclopedia, and it does indeed say that the Cordak were stashed on Voya Nui and fell in with Mahri Nui.
As far as I can tell, this is an error because Hydraxon and Maxilos both have Cordaks.

Hope that helps.

Acually, I think both might be possible.
Maxilos and Hydraxon got it from, let's say, OoMN, and Toa Mahri got it from sunken Mahri -Nui

#9796
Once again, I have taken this long time to come up with other questions:

1. Does Hydraxon have the mental strength to activate Great or Noble mask?

1a. Maxilos possesed by Makuta?

2. Is Hydraxon a Water-Breather?

3. Where exactly DID the Spear of Fusion come from? The defusation of Takutanuva?

4. If Maxilos's and Hydraxon's masks were carvings of ACTUAL Kanohi, what power would you give them?

5. How do you drink your coffee? :wakeup2:

1) Odds are he would
1a) Yes
2) He is now, yes
3) No the Spear of Fusion is a weapon that was designed as such by craftsmen. It had nothing to do with Takutanuva. Takutanuva were fused by exposure to energized protodermis in the first movie.
4) I don't answer hypothetical questions.
5) Never drink it. I don't like the taste.

Well, what do you think? Hydraxon and Maxilos(possesed by Makuta) can use Kanohi masks, and GREG DOESN'T LIKE COFFEE::::NOOO::::

Good idea, Toa of Protodermis. I didn't think of that, which certainly is possible.

The Mahri got it from the Barraki, and the Barraki could have gotten it from wherever on Mahri Nui they were stached.

jets,
The Cordak blasters were invented in Xia, sold to the DH, stolen by the OoMN, and stored on Voya Nui. They travelled into the Pit with Mahri Nui. Hydraxon and Maxilos were given their blasters by the Order.
Does that help?
