1Good evening: I just have one quick question that, believe it or not, my mom thought up after she read Downfall (she actually loves the story). I'm amazed I never wondered.
2What was Makuta's reasoning in the story to take on the name of his species as his personal name to those outside of the Brotherhood? I originally thought it was just supposed to be to keep secretive, but the Brotherhood was a public organization, for the most part in the past. I mean, Icarax evidently had no problem telling the Nuva his real name. So did Makuta start called himself "Makuta/The Makuta" for simple intimidation reasons, or something else?

4Basically, he saw no reasons that lesser beings needed to know his real name. He was the only Makuta they were dealing with, so they did not need to know it to differentiate him from others of his species. (I also include a trace of something found in some cultures on Earth, the idea that someone knowing your true name gives them some kind of power over you -- it doesn't, but there is still that deep-seated notion. Even here, people are reluctant to tell their names to a stranger, both for practical reasons and for that little, primitive fear of someone knowing what to call you.)
