Xymus is right. Greg is still getting PMs from people who think Norik wears a Kiril.
It's not worth the effort on his behalf.

#1442
Whoa, interesting stuff . Taky can create a shadow hand . And Trinuma is going to be a combiner? Also, Daesma, or however you may spell it, might be a name from the current naming list thing, the one that's getting abandoned. Greg probaly used it as just an example, since it's not going to be used anymore. not sure if he's going to be a chracter... But, that's just a guess.
#1443
Makuta Daesma (typo) is actually the guy who asked Greg th question. ;)

No, Makuta can only control plants because the power is plant control the other powers aren't sonic control, magnetism control etc just Sonics, Magnetism so on, so on

DW

The question involved the word control, Greg said "correct," and you're telling me he can't control Sonics &Co.? Riiight.
#1445
No, Daesma is the name of the member who asked Greg the question.

Yep. Tahu's power is not called "Fire control". It is called "Fire". Does that mean Tahu can't control fire? NO.
#1447
Hello, Greg.

You said that Tren Krom was made to answer a question many fans have had over the years, so I just had to ask this. Tren Krom has knowledge of the universe and how it works, so by any chance was he made to answer the question of how the universe was able to function (sun rising, heat, gravity, etc.) while Mata Nui was asleep?

Even this knowledge would have helped Teridax pull off his plan because he wouldn't have had to worry about dying.

Thank you for your time,

Ja-Metru

No, the universe was able to continue running for the same reason you are able to keep breathing while you are asleep -- some things Mata Nui can take care of automatically, simply by existing.

I thought I was onto something...
#1448
For those of you who love Lovecraft... although you may already know:
QUOTE
I noticed that Tren Krom had certain aspects that resembled those of a less evil Cthulhu (an Elder God in Lovecraft lore). Was Cthulhu any sort of inspiration, or was this just a chance parallel concept that you were unaware of?

I think it would be neat-o either way.

Thanks for your time,
Johnny C.

I confirmed a few weeks ago that Tren Krom was my tip of the hat to Lovecraft

Yay Kromthulhu .
#1449
Possibly Tren Krom is completely organic and his body tissue is used to bring new matoran into existence...
#1450
Teridax-MoMN
Possibly Tren Krom is completely organic and his body tissue is used to bring new matoran into existence...

Unlikely. Matoran are biomechanical, and they can be called into existance in places such as Metru Nui.
#1451
YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS

QUOTE
Dear Greg, Here are some questions,

1. Is the Avohkii made of Protosteel?
2. What exactly does Tren Krom look like?
3. Do the FoF weapons have any powers?
4. Where is the Kardas Dragon now?
5. Why is TSO having Ancient and Voporak go after the vahi when there is a war they should fight in?
6. Can TSO can use masks?
7. If the universe dies from the Ignika, would Tren Krom be affected?
8. Why do you have a name for TSO if you aren't going to reveal it?
9. How would Daxia self-destruct (a button you press)?
10. Can Shelek wearers just silence someone or do they have to make him not hear anything at the same time?
11. Is the toa in Odina signifigent to 2008?
12. Who were created first, the Hagah or the Mata?
13. Is the first toa someone we have seen before?
14. Why didn't Takanuva just use a laser to kill the 2 Hagah when he had the chance and the element of surprise?
Thanks .
P.S. Where is the first toa right now?

1) No
2) If I describe him, you'll go mad
3) Which ones, specifically?
4) Metru Nui
5) Because the Vahi would be a powerful weapon in that war. Vakama was able to use the threat to destroy it to defeat Makuta 1000 years ago, TSO could do the same thing.
6) Yes
7) Yes
8) I don't feel the need to release every single detail on every single thing ... some things are more fun if they remain mysteries.
9) No, probably something cooler than that
10) They have to do both
11) No
12) The Mata
13) No
14) Because Toa don't kill -- it's against their code.
15) You'll find out in Book 10

#1452
So Kardas is in Metru Nui very interesting.
#1453
could a (hypothetical) shelek nuva silence and deafen seperately?

could the OoMN leader be the first toa?
#1454
toa cant be in the OOMN
#1455
i dont think its a rule that they cant. it just hasnt happened so far as we know

wait... nevermind. the Hand of Artahka leader is the same as OoMN, and the Hand is older than the first toa.
#1456
This is from a PM I sent Greg a while back.
1. What does Matoran legend say about Tren Krom?

2. Was Teridax aware of what might happen to both the Phantoka and Mistika Makuta?

3. Is Icarax likely to have a particularly hard time not killing the Nuva, seeing as that's what he likes doing best?

4. I've heard some talk of keystones. What are they and where were they mentioned?

5. How did the Great Beings, or anyone, manage to predict that Mata Nui might be put to sleep? It doesn't seem like the sort of thing anyone would really expect.

6. I haven't read Bionicle Legends 9 yet so I was wondering, does Teridax know where he is and did he intend to be there?

7. Does anyone know of Icarax's attitude towards Teridax and the plan?
b: If not, what would happen to him if other Makuta found out?

8. Does Icarax see his 'devolution' as an advantage or disadvantage?

9. Does Tren Krom's power come anywhere near that of Mata Nui?

10. Out of the three main Toa teams we've had to far, which one have you enjoyed writing about the most?

11. In every confrontation we've seen, Teridax seems to have lost. Has he ever won a fight?

12. Would Icarax's opinion change if the grand plan succeeded?

13. Will the Order be able to find anyone else with Botar's innate sense to know where prisoners-to-be are?

14. Does the Order know how many BoM members there are?

15. Are Makuta generally known as 'Makuta' by the populace of their assigned region, or by their name?

16. Would you say a Makuta's shadow hand ability is an extension of their Shadow powers, or a power in itself?

17. Is there a reason why there has only been one Toa of Light to date?

Thanks Greg .
1) Follow the story and find out
2) Yes
3) Yes
4) They were mentioned in Bionicle Legends #9. The six keystones are fragments of what was once a larger stone. Inscribed on them are the directions for how to awaken Mata Nui
5) Well, let's say you have a child ... you know he has the potential to catch a cold, so you try to make sure he is protected from catching one and that you have medicine in the house in case he does. The Toa Mata are the medicine.
6) Yes and yes
7) They know, but it is accepted in the BOM that someone may think they have a better plan than the ruler -- if they can prove it, they get to be the new leader. Icarax has so far done nothing to actually sabotage the plan, so there's no reason to act against him.
8) Time will tell
9) It is closer to that than to Takutanuva
10) The Metru.
11) Well, he beat Keetongu pretty handily, and The Shadowed One, and Voporak, and led the army that crushed the Barraki, and downed the Great Spirit ... decent record, I think.
12) By then, it won't matter -- if the plan works, there is nothing left for him to oppose.
13) Yes, another member of Botar's species.
14) Yes
15) By their title. Makuta don't feel it necessary to share their true names with inferiors.
16) Extension of their shadow powers
17) Yes, only has been destined to come into being
#1457
Actually it says in the Bionicle atlas that the order doesn't take in Toa, Matoran or Turaga because they have they're own destiny.
#1458
Actually, Toa can't be members of the OoMN but they can work for the OoMN. Look at Krakua. ;)
~SB~
#1459
What if destiny calls them to join the OoMN? The OoMN don't take in Toa, Matoran or Turaga becuase that would be like a kingdom taking in all the people for the army. Who will raise crops, and keep the economy going? Matoran have to work, and Turaga are the leaders to guide them, and Toa protect them. But they still can take in Toa, it's just they mainly don't because they have there place in the world.

Like Krakua, for example. He's a Toa that is in because he was needed to communicate with some beings without exposing the order. It's not really a rule the order can't take in Toa, Turaga and Matoran. It's just Matoran and Turaga have to keep the universe running (They aren't powrful enough either), and Toa have to make sure they stay safe to do it.

If you denie this, then tell me why Krakua is in the order.

Krakua is not in the OoMN, he just works for them, like Umbra does. Toa don't become OoMN members because Matoran need heroes, public heroes.

And also because of the whole moral stuff.
#1461
But it's still a Toa being used by the order. Either way, member or servant, Krakua is still being used by the order instead of doing the usuall Toa activities.

And i know the Matoran need public hereos. But it's not really a rule the OoMN can't take in the Toa, they just don't do it because the Matoran need, as you say, public heroes.

As the guy said, the OoMN doesn't take in toa, as he said was from the atlas. He didn't say Toa aren't allowed in.

already did a while ago

5. One last thing. Krakua is working for the OoMN. I thought they don't let Toa in the Order.

5) You answered your own question. "Working for" is not the same as "in" -- Roodaka worked for the BOM, but she was not a Makuta, therefore not a member of or in the BOM.

Neat map, man .

I'm going to try to deduce the Toa Nuva that hates his memories:

Gali's out, he said 'he'.
I doubt Greg would use Tahu, he is overused.
Lewa wouldn't have another thing happen to him. I mean, come on.
Kopaka- Possibly, but I don't think it will happen.
Onua- Most probably.
Pohatu- No, he's got too much social skills for something bad to happen to him.

In my opinion, it's Onua.

no, i dont think so.
Gali= no, he said he.
Tahu, no he has had enough stuff hashapped to him.
Lewa, same as Tahu.
Pohatu, maybe
Onua, maybe
Kopaka, yes, othewise why would he be so mean.. Maybe someone like pohatu got killed and he became mean. Then he olny likes pohatu because that someone was like pohatu. maybe? well pohatu and Onua are still in it though.
#1465
Alright, you probably have a few dozen of these pms, so I'll make them fast:

1.What happened to the Toa Nuva's original 'signature' Kanohi Nuva (Ex. Lewa's original Miru Nuva, the non-adaptive versions)?

2. If the Nuva still have them, would they be willing to give Tahu their former 'usual' mask, considering how Tahu lost his, and the others now have 2 of each? Even though they can't access their suva from Karda Nui, it might be helpful in the future to have that sort of cache.

3. What happened to alt-takua and dume when Takanuva left to look for the vahi, or will that be touched on later in the serial?

4. Is Tren Krom innately good, evil, just trying to stay alive, or anything similar?

5. Did Teridax get the knowledge about the Ignika's life drain from Tren Krom?

6. Are there any plans to mention Lesovik in the future, or will he just be swimming around for a while?

7. The Makuta(in general)originally simply wanted respect and thanks from the matoran, correct?

8. If that is true, would the Makuta(species) of the alternate universe be heralded as heroes by the matoran and given great praise if they found a way to overthrow the Toa Empire?

9. Does Teridax's plan involve pulling something off like Syndrome in the Incredibles, where he sets up a situation, then fixes it to gain support, praise, fame, respect, etc?

10. If the matoran would for whatever reason look up to the Makuta as they do to Mata Nui now, would they be content?

11. Would a good analogy of Mata Nui be a brain? Mata-Nui is the sub-conscious mind that keeps you alive, whereas the matoran and all other living things would be like the conscious mind that decides what you will do?

Thanks Greg . I look forward to the rest of the serials .

1) Left on Artakha, where they will be safe
2) Possibly
3) They are with the Makuta
4) You will find out as we roll along.
5) That is one of the things he learned, yes
6) Haven't decided yet.
7) I think it went deeper than that -- I think where Mata Nui was content to be honored and respected, the Makuta wanted to be worshipped.
8) Doubt it. Do you think rule by the Makuta would be better than rule by the Toa Empire? It would be like overthrowing the Emperor in Star Wars and replacing him with a resurrected Darth Maul.
9) No, that was his scheme in 2004.
10) See answer to #7, and I think it is too late for that, anyway.
11) No, I think you need a bigger picture than that
#1466
5. Can a Toa of Stone shoot pieces of rock out of his hands like a gun?

1) Well, Greg, your answer was yes, so does this mean a toa of earth can shoot earth (groan) out of his hands? Never quite got the difference between earth and stone, anyway. Please explain.

Also, if metru nui was below mata nui, how the heck did:
1. They have a sun?
2. They sail from mata nui to metru nui?
3. Turaga Dume see stars in the sky in Legends #1?

2) Since the Brotherhood is a brotherhood, how is Gorast a girl? And why isn't she blue?

3) Is it just a coincidence that toa ignika looks so dang much like hewkii mahri?

Metru Nui's twin suns are actually two holes around the Ko-Wahi area. The seas are probably connected, so they could have sailed from there, or they sailed up to the Great Barrier and walked to Metru Nui. Also, just because an island is underneath another doesn't mean that it can't see stars.

The Brotherhood basically means "Any Makuta, regardless of gender, can come." That's what I think. Also, blue isn't associated with female. For example, Roodaka was black and Brutaka was blue with gold armor. It doesn't matter the color. It's a common mistake because 90% of the blue guys have been female, so don't feel bad. :P

(Note: Some of these are true, some of these are what I think. Ask GregF for the real answers.)

Greg does not come here. Can I have a nickle for every person who doesn't read the first post? But the questions are easy.

The suns (plural) were more or less transparent lenses that let in light from the actual sun of the outside world. They did not sail to Mata Nui, they either walked through the caves or, later, used airships. There are "stars" on the roof of the domes, but their nature is still a mystery. As far as we know, only Matoran and their off-shoots have the "blue is a girl" rule. The blue Priaka and Barraki were not female, now were they? Nowadays all the Toa share a similar skeleton, set similarities are coincidental.

Next time do some BS01 research.
#1470
Umm guys(Not Greg) Who is Trinuma?
#1471
Trinuma is a nine-foot tall warrior in the Order of Mata Nui, who was present when the Staff of Artakha was used, and was with Botar when they were attacked by Icarax, who killed Botar.
#1472
some more q&a:

hello, Greg, a few more questions:

1.can the mask of life turn turaga back into toa since he can evolve and devolve life? if so, could he turn vakama and the others back into toa?
1a.if not, can anything turn turaga back into toa?

2.is there more than one mask of light?

3.is artahka more or less powerful than a makuta?

4.will the toa hagah be re-released as new sets?

5.have there been any other kardas dragons in existence before?

6.how long does it take for makuta to create rahi? if it is a very short process, can they create rahi in the middle or right before a battle, just for extra numbers?

7.now that the nuva have better weapons and more experience, would defeating rahkshi be really easy for them? or would they still get beaten?

8.can makuta summon rahkshi in the middle of battle?

thanks very much for your time .

1) Yes
2) No
3) I tend to doubt that Artakha has 42 powers
4) No. You have seen all the sets for this year already, just about, and we are not in the Matoran universe next year so no point in making sets of them.
5) Haven't thought about it
6) They have to have the right equipment to be able to do that, so it's not something you can just stop and do in the middle of a fight.
7) The major point you bring up is experience -- they had never fought Rahkshi before when they faced them on Mata Nui. Now they have, which gives them an edge.
8) If there are Rahkshi around, yes. If not, no.

1) What will happen if Makuta don't wear mask?
2) If Makuta's limb is broken or shattered, is it considered as having a hole?
2a ) If yes, how did Teridax heal himself after the Shadowed One sever the wings from his body?
3) Makuta's essence won't spread if in the small sealed-place (box, room, Antidermis vat, etc.), correct?
4) What will happen if Makuta wear Avokii?
5) Nui Stone absorbs PURE Toa energy, not Elemental Energy, right?
6) Every being can use Nui Stone, correct?
7) If Makuta shapeshifted into smaller form, do they need to absorb new mass to become bigger?
8) Must Toa use suva to transfer Toa Energy to Matoran in order to create new Toa, or just transfer directly like what Toa Metru did to Matoran Pods?
9) Makuta are inside armors, and armors are inanimate. So when Makuta touch Ignika, they won't be curse. Like when Great Beings use some tools to moved Ignika, right?
10) Can Shadow Matoran fly?
11) What Kanohi is Brutaka wearing now?
12) Is Makuta's Teleport Power in a same level as Botar's?
13) How could Makuta change their voices? Teridax changed his voice into Tuyet's while he disguised as her in Dark Mirror.

1) Same thing that happens to a Toa, they're weakened
2) His wings grew out of his armor, but they were not connected to anything inside of it, so the loss of them did not leave a hole in the armor.
3) Depends on if the box or room is actually sealed. Most rooms are not airtight, right?
4) He could use it, but it wouldn't be pleasant, sort of like an ice creature using a flamethrower
5) Yes
6) No. Only a Toa can tap the power of the Nui stone.
7) No. Normally, they can retrieve their old mass, providing they have the strength to do so. In the case of LOMN, Makuta was recovering from a fierce battle and so needed to absorb others to gain mass quickly.
8) They do not need to use suva, no
9) Wrong. Most BIONICLE characters are armored, including their hands, but they are still cursed if they touch the Ignika. They don't have to touch it with organic material to be cursed.
10) Yes
11) Same one he always wore
12) Yes
13) Well, there are Visorak who can mimic voices as well .. heck, there are humans who can do it .. it's a talent.

For the people who want to know why takanuva is titan sized, it's about 10 pages back, but...He's bigger then the other toa because of the fact that Av-matoran are generally larger then regular matoran (I dont get it either...)And a while ago Greg comfirmed that, everytime Taka uses his shadow powers, it takes him one step closer to the "Dark side". :)Sorry I couldn't get any quotes. :(
how wrong cant ya get?taks is getting big in dark mirrior of those kiddys books he is normal sized at the mo he always has been hes hasnt been in the core as long as tanma and co.
Actually Greg said the size had something to do with Karda Nui's energy.~iVahi
did you even read my post...?

I'm saying that you are wrong, he will get big after dark mirror, and not in the kiddy-books, because GregF said nothing terribly important happens in them.
