2quote:3-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------
4SPECIAL ADDED BONUS5As promised, a sneak peek at a Toa-Barraki encounter from 2007 ...
6Pridak smiled. The sharks moved in closer, restless for the hunt. “Do you know where you are, Toa? This is a Takea shark hunting ground. The sea floor underneath you is littered with the bodies of creatures that weren’t fast enough to get away. Do you think you’re fast enough?”7“I don’t have to be,” the Toa of Ice answered. “Not as long as I’m strong enough to fight back.” 8Triggering his elemental power, he froze the water around Pridak and Takadox into a solid block. It sank like a stone out of sight. He was just about to congratulate himself on an easy victory when he heard an explosion from down below and saw shards of ice flying through the water. They were followed by Pridak and Takadox, still scraping super-cold ice fragments off their limbs.9“Is that the best you can do, Toa?” said Pridak.10“I don’t know. Are you worthy of my best?”11The Toa of Ice called upon his Kanohi mask power, throwing more willpower into the act than he ever had before. Far below, long-dead sea creatures began to stir as artificial life flooded their bodies. Heavy-lidded eyes snapped open as limbs shook off the sleep of ages. One by one, the vanquished rose, vengeance in their hearts. Scattered groups began to swim toward the Toa, gathering behind him in an undead legion. Some looked almost as powerful and formidable as they had the day they died. Others had obviously suffered the tender mercies of the Takea shark. Together, they were enough to make even a Barraki hesitate.12Across the span of black water, two armies stared into each other’s cold eyes – one living, one an imitation of life. Pridak’s gaze was fixed on the Toa, searching for some sign of weakness. He saw none.13“We appear to be evenly matched,” said the Barraki finally.14“Not so,” the Toa of Ice replied, flashing a cold smile as he gestured to his reanimated army. “My side has nothing left to lose.” 15-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------

1Mazalk - I don't have specific dates for this.
2Steve - From what I have seen in the sets, they are roughly the same size as Toa, so about 7.2 feet.
3Plazmaholic - I cannot discuss the 2007 Toa, as they do not come into the story until next summer.

1Greg;2 Has Scholastic decided to go ahead with Legends #7 - has Lihkan Hordika succeded in his quest?

1EW - No. At this point, we are WAY past the point the original BL #7 could have been put back in the schedule. It was intended to lead up to the appearance of the Toa Mahri, so it had to be a spring book -- and I just finished the October book for '07. So no, the original BL #7 will not be in the schedule, and the story content will be covered as best as I can on the web.

2TLH did a great job, but at the end of the day, the only thing that will prevent future book loss is book sales .. not petitions or banners. Scholastic is making their decisions based on what Borders and Barnes and Noble and Waldenbooks are saying about how many books they want to order and how many they are selling, so petitions are not going to change that. Sales going up will.

1Greg, Are the Barraki the same species, I doubt it because ehlek compared to carapar wont make sense.
#44
1So now that the original BL7 isn't coming out, can you tell us what Krana's origin is?
#45
1Ehlek - No, they're not and they never were.
2Frylock - That info will most likely be on the web and in the Encyclopedia next year. It's too significant a story point to share only with fan sites.

1Who was the first toa ever created and what mask did he or she wear?
#47
1What kind Toa it was is revealed in the Atlas. The mask is not.

#48
1Greg, what was it that Carapar cracked on Ehlek? Was it the little armor that he had or was it actual bone?
#49
1Ehlek doesn't have much in the way of armor, it was probably one of his spikes
#50
1greg, which is the oldest barraki?
#51
1Greg. I've noticed that the name of the Piraka spieces hasn't been revealed yet. Will be mentioned in the encyclopedia or somthing?
#52
1Hi there.
2Is it possible to build in a Kanoka disk into a Toa's armour, as in having a Kanoka of Shielding in the armour that could be activated when triggered?
#53
1I have heard thats not possible somwhere. cant remember though.
#54
1Ehlek - I have no official ages for the Barraki.
2Gabrhil - It's in the Atlas and the Encyclopedia.
3Zanarh - Not something I have thought about.

1Do the Turaga understand and know how to speak the language Turaga Nuju currently uses?
2If no, why don't they learn to do so? After all, they have 1000 years to learn it while on Mata Nui. Toa Nuju learnt it in matter of days, didn't he?
#56
1Zanarh -- They have a rough understanding, just based on experience, his body language, his tone, etc., But they do not speak it themselves.
2They really have no interest in learning it. Nuju uses it, in part, as a reminder of when they were Hordika and sort of a warning against letting pride lead them into danger again. None of the others particularly want to remember when they were Hordika, so speaking that language is not something they would want to do.

1It's the language of flying Rahi that Kualus spoke and taught to Nuju.

1Greg, Do BIONICLE characters celebrate holidays, like christmas?
#60
1Hi Ehlek -- Well, we do know that Matoran have a holiday called "Naming Day," where villagers who have performed heroic deeds or really helped their community are rewarded with a name change. And there was at least one reference to some Matoran believing that Mata Nui comes on Naming Day and brings gifts.

1Hia Greg, so is Naming day how jala, changed to jaller?
#62
1Yes
#63
1greg, will you be able to discuss anything on the interview I might have with you, since you did with Daniel in '05?
#64
1Would depend on the subject, TC -- there are some things I can discuss, and some I can't
#65
1Greg, the Miraka Nui rpg is pretty much ready, though I need to individualy give everyone access, and I'm still getting some of the elements, attributes, etc listed, but I wanted to invite you to give it a try and give me some feedback if you have the time.
2Interested? If so please look here.

1i was wondering, is there going to be a big mystery about the squid ammo like there was about the zamor spheres?
#67
1I noticed that Bordahk is nearly always in front of the other Vahki so I wondering if they functioned as the leaders?
#68
1Imatron - Thanks for the offer, but I don't really have much spare time these days.
2Nikara - No, not really.
3Nidhiki - No, cause particular models of Vahki tended to stay in their own districts. Vahki didn't work together as a large group that often.

1Greg, is vezons kardas the only kardas? or one of many?
#70
1Only one.
