1Hey Greg, I was able to listen to Biocast Pt. 6 this morning, and I was pretty happy that you were able to bring Brutaka back. Because of his actions and the things he said, would that mean that he is no longer evil? If so, I understand that he must still atone for his past sins by living out the rest of his existance in the Pit, and that because of his mutations, he can't leave it, but does that still prohibit him from turning over a new leaf?
2- TLH

3I think you will be pleasantly surprised by Brutaka's next appearance, scheduled for the epilogue of BIONICLE Legends #10. There is at least a possibility he may make it into a web serial in the second half of next year.

4Wow, thanks for the heads up  . I have one other question: How does saying Botar's name summon him? I mean that would only work for OOMN members right? And though Brutaka is now sentenced to the Pit, would you say that Botar still has some bit of respect for Brutaka, or some manner of good will towards him?

5I think what you are seeing with Botar is a telepathic flash that occurs when his name is spoken. Added to the fact that Botar just seems to know where he is supposed to be.
6As for Brutaka, I think Botar did his job with Brutaka but took no joy in it. And while he would never, on his own, act to get Brutaka out of the Pit, I don't think he would argue against it if his superiors asked it of him. I don't think he, or Axonn, sees Brutaka as evil so much as lost. Something else to keep in mind about Brutaka -- when, like everyone else in the universe, he feels Mata Nui die -- that will tell him that Mata Nui really WAS alive and present all this time, and may make him start to question some of his beliefs.

7- :t::l::h:

8I'm always wondering WHY nobody told him Mata Nui WAS still alive.
9Anyway, I'm looking forward to the Brutaka VS. Makuta fight, and the epilogue in BL10 :D

10He probably didn't believe them.

1QUOTE 2A few questions... 31.) Is it that the original title of BIONICLE ledgens 11 was going to be either "The Death of (BEING)" or "The Fall of (ORGANIZATION)"?
42.)(Probably can't answer)Is the 2008 set of which to be revealed a store-exclusive set?

5Thank you for your time.

61) No, that's not true 72) Don't know

11I'm pretty sure Axonn did tell him in one of the books. Not sure which one...
12Runs off to check
13I didn't find a part where he tells Brutaka, but in Bionicle Legends #3, it says Axonn argued that Mata Nui was in a deep sleep, but someday he'd wake up and everything would be alright again. But Brutaka didn't listen.

1Hi Greg, have some stuff for you:
21.) After reding Into the Darkness, I wondered: Has Brutaka really gone good, or has he just decided that hes not going back, but he could do a noble action? 31a.)Why did Botar respond to Brutaka's call? Was it because of the Importance of the staff, or was it because he thought he should help Brutaka out? 41b.) Were did Botar take the Staff? Daxia?
52.)In as few words as possible, how would you descibe the personalitys of Antroz, Chirox, and Vamprah? 62a.) On the subject of 2008, have you guys at Lego done any Artwork for the Universe Core and the Swamp of Secrets?
73.) Out of all the Redone Nuva, who is your fav.? Including Onua, Gali, and Tahu? 83a.) Not sure if you can answer this, but you said your fav. Makuta is in the summer. What is this Makuta's color? Just something i was curious about.
94.) Will BL9 feature Tahu, Gali and Onua in their new forms, or before they split form the team? 104a.) Not sure if you can answer this, but how long have Chirox, Antroz and Vamprah been separated form their fellow "Teammates"?
11Thanks in Advance:

121) Brutaka didn't do what he did with an eye toward getting out of the Pit someday -- he did it because he saw some of himself in Makuta's actions and was disgusted by the sight. 131a) Because Botar knows where he needs to be 141b) You'll find out in a future chapter
152) I am not going to discuss this, it's too early. 162a) Our creative agency has, yes
173) I don't have a favorite at this point. 183a) Again, see no point in discussing this yet
194) Both 204a) Not that long

1Hm... Does that mean that the Makuta were already seperated prior to the ending of BL7?

11. I haven't been able to find the answer to this question anywhere, so I guess it's safe to ask: Lesovikk was changed into his corrent form by the Pit's waters? 22. Let us say, per chance, Lesovikk survives any future encounter with Karzahni. Let us then say, he meets the Toa Mahri. Would he join them, cease wandering aimlessly? Would he decide to stay wth axonn and the matoran? I understand if you can't answer this one. 33. In the recent Dreams of destruction update, Lesovikk seemed to be threatening karzahni's life. Why would he even threaten to kill Karzahni if the act of killing makes a Toa unworthy of the title? 44. not really a Lesovikk question, but w/e. In the latest comic , it says Axonn met the Mahri, who were leading the matoran to the world above. How did Axonn know danger was coming to the matoran? 55. one more question. I can't remember if this was mentioned in Bionicle Worlds, but, since the Order knows about the situation of the Pit (at the least they know all the prisoners are out) why haven't they attempted to rectify the situation?
61) Yes 72) It depends on if he feels he has redeemed himself. Lesovikk is carrying a load of guilt over his hesitation costing the lives of his fellow team members. 83) Lesovikk already feels he's unworthy, because his hesitation cost his team members their lives. 94) Axonn belongs to the Order of the Mata Nui, and the Order knows where Voya Nui is supposed to be and about the existence of Mahri Nui and the cord. Knowing that, it's obvious that if the island plunges beneath the sea, then anyone on the surface of it will be drowned and Mahri Nui most likely destroyed. 105) Because they have bigger problems, like the imminent end of the universe, to worry about. If you had a prison break in your town, and the nuclear plant down the road was about to explode, which problem would you want to deal with first?
#10167
1This is a question I asked Greg and his reponse:
21. If Mata Nui is dead, will the universe collapse instantaneously or will it take a certain amount of time?
3Answer: He is dead, and it will take about three days for the universe to fall apart.

4Yes, he will

6Yes - but to resolve the 2007 storyline, it was important that we go back to Metru Nui for a final scene.

1Hey, Greg. A few things in your latest additions to Bioniclestory.com sparked some questions I hope you don't mind answering.
21. You said Botar wouldn't argue with his superiors if they told him to release brutaka on good behavior. Because Brutaka "saw the light" appearently, would botar or hydraxon allow hima little more free rein, as inlike an assistant jailer, like Tuyet was rumored to have been?
32. I f I recall correctly, it was Hydraxon that trained the Toa Mata. if it had been the Nuva's destiny to prusue the MoLi, would it be within reason to say that Hydraxon 2.0 would not have been so quick to jail Kopaka?
43. If the Bionicle name/atribute thing (Axonnhas axe; brutaka=brute; hydruka= hydro) persists into '08, does that mean the Phantoka Vamprah has vampiric abilities?
54. If Hydraxon pursued Nocturn onto dry land, whould he asphyxiate(sp?), or would her have to biuld himself a water breating system?
65. Is The Shadowed One anywhere near the end of his lifespan?
76. after the Toa Hagah secure Xia, and deal with Roodaka, will they continue freeing Visorak-overrun islands, join Takanuva in protecting Metru Nui, or what?

81) Neither one of them has the authority to do that. 92) If he recognized Kopaka -- since he is now a Nuva, and not in the shape Hydraxon knew him in. Besides, he might just assume they went bad. 103) I can't discuss this 114) He would suffocate without water breathing equipment 125) No 136) You'll have to follow the story and find out

1QUOTE 2Mr Farshtey, I have some questions:
31) In the Toa Nuva Blog #7 the Toa Nuva persuade the Matoran of Karzahni to head for Metru Nui. But the Matoran can't leave because of the barrier that, as in BL2, doesn't let Matoran leave the realm. How will they do it? 42) In BL8 will we see the adventures of the Nuva as in the Blog? Or it's a web exclusive? 53) To give Maxilos\Makuta the Staff of Artakha did Icarax pass through the holes made by the Toa Inika's canisters as the left the realm? 64) Why didn't Maxilos\Makuta order Icarax to give him the Mask of shadows? I mean, in Into the Darkness #3 7Makuta stated he could have used Matoro's Tryna to reanimate Tuyet. So why didn't he get the mask of Shadows? 85)Will Botar give the Toa Nuva the Staff of Artakha?
9Thanks for your time.

101) Ah, but who put that barrier up? The Order of Mata Nui did, and since the Nuva are on OOMN business, the OOMN can lower the barrier to let them out. 112) The Nuva are only in Bionicle Legends 8 at the very end. The book focuses on the end of the 2007 main story. 123) The Toa canisters don't make holes, they can go intangible to pass through solid matter. 134) Simple. The Maxilos body cannot wear masks, it's not designed for that, so the mask would be useless to him. He wanted Icarax to get it solely to keep it out of the hands of Toa. (And what Makuta meant is he could have forced Matoro to do it using the mask, either through mental domination or physical pain.) 145) No.

1Hello there, Mr. Farshtey: I would like to ask you some questions:
21)We will find out where Icarax is after he delivered the Staff of Artakha for MoMN? 32)In the Nuva Blog, Gali used the Nova Blast to hit Icarax and destroy the Realm of Karzahni, right? 43)Can you tell me the Element of the Toa trapped on the stasis field on the Dark Hunter's Base? Or this question has already been answered? 54)When Botar isn't on his missions, he stays at Daxia?

1Excuse me Mr. Farshtey,
2I was wondering, does whatever is in those spheres that the Brotherhood canister sets come with (The red ones) have the same effect as antidermis?
3If it does, does it also transform the beings that are hit by it, like the Av-matoran mini-sets?
4Respectfully, 5Wreckage, Lost Transformer

6I can't go into this kind of detail re: 2008 sets and story, it's too early.

7OK, but I have one question in response:
8Did the evil Av-matoran always look like they do currently?

9Same answer. You'll find out in 2008.

1QUOTE 2Hello Greg, I've never sent you any questions before but I really want to knw something and to my amazement no one has asked you this yet, so here I go.
31) In the new Kopaka set he seems to have a red lazer coming out of his right eye, does this have any new affect or is it just a fancy telescope?
4And while I'm here...
52)Is it Arthaka personally who remakes the Nuva or just his subjects?
63)If it's Arthaka himself then does that mean the Nuva will get to meet him 73a)More importantly will the readers seee him?
8Please send my congradulations to the set designers and story team. I always have injoyed bionicle but you really outdid yourselves in 2008.

91) Since this has to do with 2008 story, I can't answer it, it's too early. 102) He doesn't remake them. They aren't being transformed, just given new armor. 113) No, they will not see him in person.
12I figured he wouldn't answer the first one but as my Nana always says "Never be afraid to ask, the worst someone can say is no."

1I was reading back over the Barakki character profiles, and realised that I don't know what came of the Mantax/betrayal contract sub-plot, the last I know is they were trapped in the Pit and escaped later. So, I guess my question is, what did come of Mantax's search?
2Thanks in advance for your time

3Gets resolved in BIONICLE Legends #8: Downfall later this year

4Amazingly enough, I actually didn't see this answer coming.
#10182
1Just a quick one:
2Hi, this is my first time doing this. I just wanted to ask if it was possible for Stuart Sayger to do cover art for the Bionicle books. I think that would make the books stand out alot more, since his artwork stands out. Plus, it would be nice to have custom artwork just for the books.

3Given that sales of the books are not where they used to be, I doubt Scholastic would want to pay to get cover art done. The art they use now they get for free from LEGO.

4No page claiming.
#10183
1Could you please answer these?
21. Does TSO really have three legs, or is the third leg a tail? (I ask because someone from school said it was a tail)
32. Why isn't the shape-shifting DH from the Many Deaths of Toa Tuyet a member anymore?
43. From what I heard in Into the Darkness Chapter Six Brutaka actually teams up with the being who in prisoned him (Botar) to get the SoA away from Makuta. Does this mean Brutaka is back on the side of good (though I dout he is a Order member agian)?
54. Will Gadunka, Spinax, and/or Hydraxon appear in Dreams of Destruction or Into the Darkness?
65. Was the Leader of the OoMN a HoA member?
76. Did Hydraxon (original) know Axonn and Brutaka before the OoMN?
87. I know you can't tell us how Mata Nui is brought back from death (We know he's coming back, after all if he doesn't then the universe would end and then no more Bionicle), and you've said the MoLi can not revive the dead. But can you at least tell us if it will be a suprising and unexpected prosess or not?
98. Which is your favorite 2007 titan?
109. I know Hydraxon can't use Kanohi, but is he wereing a powerless mask (like Umbra), or is that his actual face?
1110. Does the OoMN give any of their members codenames, like the DH do?

12Thanks Greg

131) It's a tail 142) Who said he isn't a member? 153) Means he got a look at himself in Makuta's actions and was disgusted by what he saw 164) Probably not much, if at all. They are focused on more in the books and comic 175) Yes 186) Yes, he was the one who recruited Axonn 197) Depends, I don't know how easily surprised you are :)8) Probably Hydraxon 209) That's his face 2110) No

1Hi Greg.
21. Does Brutaka have four arms? It never mentioned in the books, but the set seems to, so I figured I'd ask. 32. In DoD, chapter 7, Sarda mentioned Maxilos by the name Maxilos. How did he know that was his name? 43. Are the domes under the sea floor, or bulging up over it? 54. Does anyone we have met so far know where Artakha is? 65. How much of the UC was populated before the Great Cataclysm? 76. Are/were there any Turaga on the Mainland besides Jovan? 87. Did Voya Nui blasting away from the Mainland have anything to do with the Toa Mata canister malfunction? 98. Did Gali Nuva's flood affect the entire dome, or just Karzahni? 109. Can a Toa of Gravity affect only up/down gravity, or can he affect the gravity between two objects? Because gravity is defined as "a force of atraction between two objects." Meaning, can he stick two objects together, or repel them? 1110. When did Brutaka join the OoMN? Axonn?
12Thank you for your time. I really appreciate it.

131) No 142) Author's license 153) Under 164) No. 175) I can't discuss this 186) Yes 197) No 208) Just Karzahni 219) I haven't gone that direction because I don't want to have to explain the definition of gravity to the large number of 8-9 year olds reading the story 2210) I don't have exact dates for this

2When you say Brutaka saw himself in what Makuta/Maxilos was doing in Into The Darkness (chapter 6), what did he really see in himself and Makuta? The hunger for power?

5Selfishness and lust for power perhaps? Remember how he wanted the Zamors to make himself more powerful, Makuta wanted the same thing from the Nui Stone.

1That is included in "hunger of power" I stated. 2Can it be betrayal? But Makuta never really betrayed Matoro...

1QUOTE 2Hey Greg, first of I would like to thank you for answering my last questions so fast and I have some more for you.
31) If I remember corectly you said that life was too powerful of an element for a toa to weild. Does that mean the Toa Ignika is not actually a toa but just something that has taken the phisical form of one?
42) It seems to me that all the major Ice characters are loners for one reason or another. Kopaka is the epitomy of the lone wolf. toa Nuju didn't seem to like anyone. Thok is 100% solo 0% social. And Matoro has been forced to go out on his own (well he's with MoMN but I wouldn't consider him an ally). Is this on purpose or just a coincidence.
53) Out of all the OoMN members there must be (I'm assuming there is a somewhat decent amount of them) we have olny met ones that have some sort of connection to each other. Hydraxon recruted Axonn. Axonn is friends with Brutaka. Do all members have some sort of conection with each other?
64) Is Mata-Nui's life energy connected with destiny on a whole (the more destinies compleated the stronger he gets, the more that are failed the weaker)?
7Thanks in advance, your fan and admirer, Kng of Everything.....boy that sounds wierd.

81) You'll find out in 2008 92) That was something decided on early on, because the feeling was that ice was a "cold" element. An ice character would not be a warm, friendly, social type 103) You're pointing to very tenuous connections here, though. Of course Axonn and Brutaka were friends, they were stationed together for thousands of years. It's like asking does everyone in an army unit have some connection -- sure they do, they're in the same unit. 114) No.
12Darn and I really thought I was on to something with that last one.

4Can't think of a very good answer...

5Selfishness and lust for power perhaps? Remember how he wanted the Zamors to make himself more powerful, Makuta wanted the same thing from the Nui Stone.

6Its most likely 'power-hungry', 'betrayal' and 'lust'

1Hi, I have just one question today.
2You have said that Life is too powerful for a Toa to control. But still there's a Toa Ignika :D 3Anywho, We have this quote from Makuta:
4"Think on this: Tuyet, and later Nidhiki were not the only Toa to ever turn bad. And if the next one should happen to fall under my sway, well what better than to use the Nui Stone to increase his power a hundred fold? A thousand fold? Imagine an all powerful Toa at my command, wiping your kind from the face of this planet."

5So, Of course he plans to give the Nui Stone to a "Bad" Toa. I think..
6Then my question is: If A Toa had the Nui Stone(,the power of several Toa) and the Ignika. Would he be able to wear it?(of course the Toa must be destined to wear it :) )
7Thanks again :)

8You don't need the Nui stone to wear the mask, if you are destined to wear it. And the Nui stone most likely would amp up your elemental power, not necessarily your will, which is what's needed to control that mask.

9Then something that would make your will stronger would be needed, Right?

1hey Greg, just wondering...
21)what would you consider more important, power or skill? 31a)In other words who's the better warrior, Brutaka with all his strength, or Hydraxon with all his expirience?
42)It's hard to tell from the picture but does the new Kopaka have any shoulder armor? I dont see any.
53)I believe you said that the toa nuva are stronger in general than Takanuva but that Taka's element was better suited to fighting Makuta so would you say Taka would have a better chance agaist a makuta than, say Kopaka, despite the fact that he's actually weaker?
64)Another thing on the Nuva's power. The real advantage to being a Nuva seems to be just the ability to share mask powers, but lets say Tahu was for some reason on Voya-Nui while the other Nuva were on Metru-Nui. Would he still have an advantage?
75)I understand if you can't answer this but, is there any difference between any of the new Nuva masks and the old ones? You don't need to say what the difference is just if there is any.
86)Am I right in assuming that Kopaka will be the temporary leader of his team (Kopaka, Lewa, and Pohatu)
9Thanks, again.
101) I think experience and skill counts for more than power. Look at how many times Captain America has beaten foes way more powerful than he is, because he is tactically a better and more experienced fighter. 112) I don't have the sets, so can't speak to this 123) Yes, because Makuta are most vulnerable to light 134) Not when it came to other Toa, yes when it came to Matoran resistance members or Axonn, if they were nearby. 145) In terms of power? No. 156) Not going to comment on this
164) Let me see if I can explain. You are wearing the Nuva Mask of Speed. You are on your own on Voya Nui, with the rest of the Toa on Metru Nui, and you are fighting the Piraka alongside the Matoran resistance. You can share your mask power with the Matoran if they are near enough to you, so you can all use super-speed in the fight. So they can benefit from your mask power even if the other Toa are too far away to do so.
17So one-on-one without anyone else there, Jaller might have a chance against Tahu.

11. Can a Toa Nuva's masks work on objects? For example, can Pohatu use his mask to make a piece of metal vibate so fast it explodes? 22. Do the other Toa Hagah carry spears like Iruni and Norik? 33. When Icarax gave Makuta the Staff of Artahka, why didn't Makuta take his Mask of Shadows from Icarax? 44. Do the turaga know that the Toa Nuva are still alive?

51) No. Nuva mask powers can be shared with other living beings, but not with objects. If Pohatu wanted to do that, it would make more sense to use the mask to make himself vibrate and then take the piece of metal in his hand so the vibrations would be transferred to it.
62) Hasn't been established what weapons they carry
73) Because Makuta has no use for it right now. The Maxilos body is not designed for mask wearing.
84) No, they have no way to know that, anymore than they know what happened to Jaller and the other Matoran that left with him.
