1Some more great Greg info. Some of it worthwhile. My comments in this.
2VOYAGE OF FEAR SPOILERS

3Hello, again. I just finished reading Voyage of Fear, and it was a very good book. But I had some stuff to clear up.
41. Are all the Rahi in the book going to be in the Rahi guide next year?
52. Exactly how was Mavrah able to heard all the animals out to sea on that cavern?
63. How did Mavrah and the Krahli get to the cavern in the first place? Is there some sort of passageway underwater?
74. What happened to Mavrah after he was hit by the wave? Did he simply drown?
85. Is there going to be a later on story about how the Toa Metru retreive Ahkmou?
96. Are all those Rahi just natural Rahi, or the results of expiraments?
107. Nokama's Trident doesn't really look like a sort of bone a fish would have. Are the Makuta Fish bones really blue like that?
118. Speaking of Nokama, about how long does it take for her and the other Ga Matoran to get used to the water?
129. By what Vakama has said, the story gets darker. Does it?
13That's all. Thanks in advanced:

141) No. The Rahi in the guidebook will be Rahi from the contest or Rahi we have produced as sets or inspirational models in the past. No models exist of the Rahi in VOF, I made them up.
15Oh darn.
162) They trusted him.
17Really? Rahi trusting matoran. . .hmm. . .
183) Yes. There are long unused chutes that run under the water. That is how land-dwelling Rahi were able to make it to Metru Nui from elsewhere.
19And I bet it's also how the Toa Metru go back and forth with sleeping matoran.
204) Well, he was swept into the water. Only time will tell if he is dead or not. I intended that he be dead, but if a zillion people demand he come back, I will consider it.
21So we don't know if he is dead or not. I personally think he will become fish food. But that's just me.
225) The Toa Metru never retrieved Ahkmou. Someone else did, and yes, you will see that story next year.
23Someone else did? Well then, I guess we can all start guessing.
246) Those Rahi were all natural, not mutants. The mutants are in Book 6.
25Oh darn.
267) Yes. You are assuming BIONICLE fish bones look like Earth fish bones. These aren't Earth creatures.
27True. Don't know why I didn't think of that before.
288) Oh, a while. But like anything else, they adjust to new environments in time.
29I guess they took some time to adapt to life without technology or liqued protodermis to drink
309) By a lot. Vakama has ' a reason not to tell his tales'
31(The part in ' I added because it was cut off when I copied and pasted. But the meaning is stil the same) 32Darker? How much more darker can it get?
33Now all those lead to more questions that I will PM him later.

1The Toa Metru never retrieved Ahkmou. Someone else did, and yes, you will see that story next year.
2Someone else did? Well then, I guess we can all start guessing.
3I would think that Makuta retrieved him

4Theory as to Re-appearance of LoMN Villaing

5I would think that Makuta retrieved him, and: either brainwashed, or convinced him that he was the Great Spirit. Thus explaining all of the things Ahkmou did, or even Makuta told the Po-Matoran who he was. But he told Ahkmou that there was no possible way for the Toa to win. So, Ahkmou did what Ahkmou does, he stuck to the side he thought would win.
#2083
1True, Buzz. Although later I was going to PM Greg again, because I think he said Makuta has no parts in this storyline.
2EDIT: Yay: I'm submerged:

1GregF answered me back concerning the Kanoka of Time

2QUOTE 3Let me first say that I love all your works. I have all the BIONICLE COMICS AND BOOKS. To bad I dont' have any that are autographed I have read them 3 or 4 times before I place them on the shelf to make sure that I don't miss a thing. Unlike alot of members that NEVER pick up one of your books and make all kinda of assumptions with out evidence to back the statements
4However, there has been one discrepency (I hope I spelled that right), that I really need you to clarify.
5Chapter 5 page 57 (last line) - 58 (lines 1-6) of the Novelization of the Metru Nui City of Legends Movie. It states in black and white that and I quote:
6In the back of the transport, Vakama had succeeded in merging three of the six Great Disks. Using his firestaff, he had began to shape the combined disk into the rough shape of a mask. Nokama watched him at work for a long time before saying "Vakama, your destiny no longer lies in sculpturing masks. You are a Toa"
7Chapter 6 page 82 (lines 10-12):
8Nokama and Vakama rode past them. Vakama was still tinkering with the Mask of Power he had created from the Great Disks.
9Now I am pming you cause I have seen several times well really only 3 times, where you tell members that the Vahi (Mask of Time) was made from the from the Kanoka of time. You say that all 6 disk were combined into the Kanoka of time and then it was made into the Mask of Time. One answer in particular contradicts your book. Asked by Member bonesiii

10QUOTE 11You've mentioned a Great Disk of Time. Members are speculating about it in the OGD topic, so I suppose I might as well ask, is it the disk the Vahi's made of, specifically, after the six Great Disks are combined? (Everything I had heard made it sound like no single disk was actually made, but the disks were put into the mask mold three at a time.)
122) No, the disks were not put into a mask mold -- Vakama made the Vahi "on the run" by merging the six disks and then cutting the mask out of the disk. He didn't have the luxury of using a mold. So yes, the Disk of Time is the disk he cut the mask out of.

13Now I am big on information being accurate and text support. Please if possible can you clear this up. Is it like you say in your book or is it how you answered bonesiii question. The books states that three were merged then shaped formed it then probably later on added another one then shaped it and so on till all 6 disk were incoperated into the mask. But that statement to bonesiii implies that all 6 were merged into one disk or kanoka of time then the mask was cut from it.
14Thank alot of entertaining my question/comment.
15Please keep up the good work. I am one of the few members that appreciates the hard work that you and the LEGO set designers put in to the BIONICLE universe. Please Keep the books coming I can't get enough of them and Let the set designers know that atleast one member is very satistifed with their work.

16Thank you in advance

17Hi Mata,
18Thank you for the kind note and the polite question. This is actually pretty simple to answer.
19Both are accurate. Vakama begins work on the mask when only three disks are combined. However, that is not when he completes the mask. But since it is only a 75 minute movie, there really isn't time to do multiple scenes of him combining disks. Since the movie book can only feature scenes in the script, I could not write in "And then he combined the fourth, fifth, and sixth" because there are no specific scenes of that in the film. So I would just point out that the quote says, "He begins shaping the mask" -- not that he actually made it at that point. Splitting hairs, I know, but I am writing in something of a straitjacket when doing movie novelizations, because I have to be confined to the script -- and sometimes scenes that would clarify things end up getting cut out.

1(GG, story-opportunity bells are ringing:)

2She's not the only person on the planet capable of writing, you know... :P
3Also, Mata-Nui-Ologoist... I've never read any of Greg's books (although I'm sure I would enjoy them and appreciate the great amount of work put into them). I make some assumptions of my own that aren't really based on any solid "official" evidence. Does that make me a "bad" Bionicle fan? Is it wrong for me to hang on to the original feel of Bionicle, where the story wasn't intended to be spelled out word-for-word?
#2086
1Rahi Zaku... No it doesn't mean you are a bad member Not at all. But when people make statements as if they were true with out proper evidence to back it up then YES that is wrong. Weather is on BZPower or in the real world.
2Nothing this world is with out change. NOTHING. IF you truely hold on to the Original feel of BIONICLE then you would know it is a world BUILD on the unexpected. And the unexpect is forever changing. And if everyone was so AFRAID and not one stuck on things not changing and being one way. BIONCILE would have never made it past its first year and we will still be talking about the same 6 toa and a handfull of Rahi and 6 taraga.
3If people were still AFRAID of change and stuck on things not changing and being one way. We would still be riding in horse drawn carages, sending telegraphs. writing with bird quils on partchment paper with ink made from whale blubber while wearing Knickerbokers and reading by Candle light. It is understanding that thing in this world MUST change and progress. That goes for the real world as well as the world of BIONICLE. So except that BIONICLE is a progressive and ever changing world . Face fact if this LEGO TECHNIC Line is going to last till 2010 know that it will change many many times over. Meaning MORE sets, MORE comic, MORE books, and more Movies. Which will bring up MORE question that will require MORE answers That is reality :)
4Please read the books and ask question to GregF and back up your statements with facts not assumptions.

1Greg, 2I have been wondering for some time about the masks that the Toa had when they became Toa Nuva.I'm trying to understand where the gold masks went to, and where the Nuva masks came from.

GregF
3Well, the gold masks were turned into the first Nuva masks by the energized protodermis. As for the rest of the Nuva masks, they appeared on the island after the Toa became Nuva... my own theory is that they existed somewhere other than Mata Nui and were rigged to be sent there when the Toa became Nuva. But that is just my theory.
4Greg

5Just so you all know I have not read Chronicles #4.
6--------------------
7Greg, 8Did all the Matoran from Mertu-Nui make it off the island? I know 1 did not make it right away but were others lost or left behind?
9Mike
GregF
10Well, you will find out the answer to that in the coming year.
11Greg
12I was afraid of that...
#2088
1Hi again Greg, I would just like to ask you a question so here I go...
2I have been hearing alot about the possibilities of a "Turaga Nuva". If say the Toa Nuva do fulfill their destiny; do they turn into Turaga Nuva or just regular Turaga?

3You are assuming that they will automatically turn into Turaga once they have fulfilled their destiny. It doesn't work that way. They will have to make a choice to sacrifice their Toa power, and there is no guarantee they will do that. They may choose to remain Toa Nuva.
4Greg

5But then assuming they choose to become Turaga by that time, will they be Turaga or just a Turaga Nuva?

6I would think that they would not suddenly lose their Nuva status just because they became Turaga. They have been immersed in energized protodermis -- that changes you forever -- so they would be a different breed of Turaga.
7Greg

8So that means that we may have Turaga Nuva after all:

1Here's an interesting Greg post. It's
2Spoilers:
3Surprise surprise, eh? ;)

4There aren't going to be "heavy improvements" -- it is mid-September, the sets go on sale in December, they are already in packages. By now, you guys should know we don't publish pictures of prototypes --- BIONICLE sets are designed a year before you ever see them.
5One more thing I might as well add --
6The Rahaga are not the usual "six more creatures in six colors" thing, or "small sets that really don't matter in the story" thing --
7The Rahaga are individual characters who play a VITAL role in the story all year long. They will be in the complete 2005 storyline, start to finish, and may also show up beyond this year. In fact, outside of maybe the 2001 Turaga, I can't recall any other $3.99 sets we have done that have had this much of a role in the story. (Plus their origin is really cool -- we are talking about actually doing a whole comic issue next year on that.)
8Greg

9That's from here: http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?sho...0&#entry2191839.

10Edit: And this (also Big Spoilers:):

11Okay, I am going to give you one more piece of info on Rahaga, even though I really shouldn't ... but since at least some of you seem to be willing to give the characters the benefit of the doubt, I am going to give you a two word hint:
12Beast masters.
13And by the way, Jeric is off base a bit -- yes, you do get five sets in the first year with BrickMaster. No, it is not five Rahaga sets. That would be silly, then no one but BIONICLE fans would join. The first set you get will be one of the six Rahaga -- the others will be from different assortments. As you know, they are $3.99 sets, and we only do one group of BIONICLE $3.99 sets in a year, so just sending you five Rahaga during the course of 12 months would be really dumb.
14Greg

15Also from the topic. :)

1SPOILERS:

2Hi GregF: I have a few questions...

31. In VoF (which I just got done reading, my compliments), it says that Vakama loaded a freeze disk into his launcher. But isn't Vakama's launcher still trapped in the solid protodermis crystalis around Makuta? Where'd Vakama get a launcher?

42. So pretty much, after the bioquke, and the Archives set loose, and the Colloseum demonished, and the chutes thrown into a wild reverse, Metru-Nui is basically destroyed. Correct?

53. What was the crisis Makuta spoke of? The Bioquake?

64. Was Makuta talking to his "brothers" in his form of Turaga Dume in the "clock room"? 'Cause he was talking to someone...(himself? :fear: )

75. What was happening to the Twin Suns during the Matoran Sleep?

86. What is the Legend of Eternal Shadow?

9Thanx:
10-LotM-

111) There are Kanoka disk launchers all over Metru Nui. They are very common. That is why Vakama chose that as his tool because he was used to using them.
122) No, just badly damaged. Not destroyed. If it was completely destroyed, odds are all the Matoran would be dead.
133) The eclipse was part of it, the quake was part of it.
144) He was talking to himself.
155) Like I said, an eclipse. The holes on the surface were covered.
166) Exactly what happened, the eclipse.

1Hey guys, got a few Q&A's from Greg I've been meaning to post. 2Aug 20 2004
3QUOTE 4QUOTE 5QUOTE 6Hiya Greg, was just checking out the Metru Nui Tourism site, great job. 7I had a couple questions about it. Mostly to do with the underworld. 81.)If a Matoran unknowingly purchases a smuggled item, and a Vahki finds them with it, what would the Vahki do?
92.)Disk dueling, it sounds like it has intresting effects. a.) The Shrunken Matoran, was he hit with a high powered disk, or is there another reason he's still shrunk? 10b.) the Reconsititue Matoran, what kept him from being put away? did the effect wear off?
113.)I know you probally don't have anything to do with this, but would the date and weather forecast change daily?
12That's it for the Tourism questions, these are for the guide, I asked a few days ago, but noticed I had accidently used a title from another set of questionsr a few days beforehand, making it seem like I was sending it again. Sorry.
131.) in the Ko-Metru section, it talks about Kanoka, and the uses for sport. 14it says Disk surfing, chute boarding....I thought these were illegal, and as such, how could they be considered sport?
152.)On page 49, it talks about the Great Furnace, then shows a picture besides it. It looks a bit small to be the Great Furance, so what is it? a Kanoka melting pot?
163.)in Le-Metru, it talks about the air ships using levitation disks for ascension, and weight increase for descent. How's it get around?
174.)The Don't Miss... sections were great, and led me to wonder, would you be doing a list of Metru-Nui jobs for the Mata-Nui Online Game 2 characters for the website?
18The Metru-Nui guide was great I thought, liked it better than the Mata-Nui guide, and am looking forward to that Rahi guide. Will the Rahi guide be using the essays as descriptions?
19Aoi

201) Stun him. You really can't get far explaining to the Vahki, "I didn't know." They don't care. 212) If he shrunk small enough, he would slip between molecules and might fall for a long time. As for the other, put away where? Metru Nui doesn't have hospitals or prisons. 223) No idea. 234) Not every sport is organized and sanctioned. For example, when I was a kid, the teenagers used to drag race near where my street was -- it was competition, it was also illegal. 245) That's Vakama's forge 256) Air currents. They don't go real fast. 267) Hadn't thought about it 278) It's possible. I am going to have to look over each essay, and will use whatever I think is really good from them.
28Greg

29Hiya Greg, on question 2, I meant how did that one Matoran get out of being put into the archives. (the one that was almost considered a rahi.)

30Well, they knew he wasn't a Rahi, and Matoran are not put into the Archives. That would be criminal, like putting a homeless person on display in a museum.
31Greg

32SPOILERS MAYBE. (just to be safe.)

33Aug 25 2004
34Hiya, Greg. Just bought the book tonight....haven't finished reading it yet, but I had two questions come to mind right off the bat and wanted to ask them ASAP, so I don't forget.
351.)It isn't quite storyline related, but it easier to write the novelization off of a script or from 'scratch'?
362.)In one of Vakama's vision, he sees Lhikan's "Toa Star" and several stars around him.Might Lhikan's "Toa Star" be that Red star from the MNOLGs?

37Aoi

381) You would think it would be harder to do from scratch, but it is actually harder to do from a script. You have to worry about whether it is going to come out too long or too short, and if it is short, you can't add any dialogue or scenes to make it the right length. 392) Don't believe so, no. Also, the red star is not visiible from Metru Nui, only from Mata Nui.
40Greg

41Aug 28 2004
42Hey Greg, I was flipping thru issue 19 of the Bionicle comic, and realized, I don't remember any thing happening like it in the books. I was wondering is there any place in the series it should go?

43Also, I was wondering this last night. 44Did Lego and Universal have some sort of falling out? (Explaining the cancelation of the music album, and Miramax releasing the films?)

45Aoi

461) The comics of necessity have to tell a story that does not take place in the books or in the movie. Otherwise, why buy the books? #19 takes place after the Toa Metru have gone to the Coliseum in the movie ... which takes places after BA 1-3.
472) The story of the music CD is that a contract had been agreed to in principle, but not signed, I guess ... and then there was a change in execs at Universal and the new ones didn't want to do the project. It happens. As far as I know, we were never talking to Universal about doing the movies, it was pretty much Miramax from the start.
48Greg

49Sep 20 2004 50Recieved this one today, hope it's okay in posting it. I'll spoiler space it just in case. 51POSSIBLE SPOILERS:

52QUOTE 53Hiya, Greg. 54I was thinking about the parts reusage in sets(not a complaint, I'm glad to get pieces in new colors/for cheaper), and all the way back to the Bohrok Va, we'd see the design as Turaga-like, with Matoran feet. Then the Vahki, use the Matoran 03 chests, and the Rahaga too, using the Rahkshi heads for example.
55I was wondering, do/would the (Mata-Nui) Matoran see the similarties as well or would it look completely different to them? 56For example if they get back to Metru-Nui, and see a deactivated Vahki laying about, would they notice the Vahki chests are similar to their chests, and that the Rahaga have Rahkshi-faces? (Heh, Rahkshi face. Sounds like an insult.)
57Aoi

58Yes, most likely they would. When the Toa Hordika first meet the Rahaga, they are very wary of them because they look somewhat like Rahkshi.
59Greg

60There's my batch. 61Aoi

1QUOTE 2Hi Greg
31) You recently said that "gali wearing the mask of light wouldn't do anything", but before you said that if vakama made a mask of fire out of his toa disk, nokama could use it. What's the difference with the mask of light, is it special? More than a great mask?
42) Do elemental masks besides the ones for light and shadow make any emotions heighten in a toa? Like would a mask of fire make someone more angry, or hasty?
53) Is the exo toa your favorite set still? It's really cool
64) You've said a long time ago that a hau nuva lets the user withstand the strongest attacks, but we've seen that wasn't true many times. I'm kind of confused on exactly what it can do
75) I forgot, in which book will the mutant morbuzakh be coming back? I haven't seen it yet.
8Thanks Greg

91) What I meant was she would not turn into a Toa of Water and Light. You are one element or another. It wouldn't change what she was Toa of. And yes, I think the MOL is special.
102) No
113) Yes, it is still up there. I like Nidhiki a lot too, that's a cool set. And some of the big bad guys next year are really cool.
124) A Hau Nuva does allow you to withstand strong attacks, but not everything in the world. If it was an invulnerable force field, that would get kind of boring. Also, I see the shield as being like something made from Green Lantern's ring -- it is as strong as your willpower. If Tahu is expecting an attack of level X, and he gets one of X5, then the shield will not be strong enough to stop it.
135) Do you mean the prototype of the Morbuzakh? That is in Book 6, it's not out yet.
14Greg
#2094
1{1} I've been thinking about the Kakama Nuva's ability to walk through walls. If that's true, wouldn't the Kakama Nuva be a low-grade Hau? Enemy throws a rock at you, it passes through you, etc.
2{2} Another question. When you're using the walk-through-walls ability of the KN, do you have to mentally select an object to pass through it, or is it possible to pass through it unwittingly?
3{3} When you activate the KN, can you chose which power you wish to use? Could you use the w-t-w ability without using the speed ability, or vise-versa?
4{3b} If the above questions is answered yes, does the person you are sharing the power of the KN with also hve the ability to toggle the powers of the mask for their own use?

5~Huta

6Okay, the "walk through walls" ability is part and parcel of the speed power. They are not separate. Super-speed allows you to control the molecules of your body and their vibration, hence allowing you to vibrate through solid matter the way Flash does. So yes, if you see a rock coming at you, you could vibrate and it would pass through you.
7So when you are using the vibratory ability, you are still using super speed, you simply aren't necessarily running. And you can't use it "unwillingly" because you have to mentally trigger the shift in vibrations on and off. If you are vibrating, you will pass through everything -- if you are not vibrating, you won't pass through anything. You can only be selective about it by turning the power totally on or totally off.
8And no, the person you are sharing the mask with does not determine what the mask does -- the wearer does that. Otherwise, someone being protected by a Hau's shield could decide on their own to shut the shield off, etc., which would be a big mess.

1I asked Greg a few questions about the bohrok.
2QUOTE  3A few questions about the bohrok here.
41) First off, I heard there are bohrok underneath Metru-Nui. Is this true? 52) Did the bahrag send out the signal for the bohrok to be awakened? 63) If yes to 1, were the bohrok under Metru-Nui awakened too during the bohrok saga? 74)If yes to 2, is it possible that the bahrag we know, can only awaken the bohrok on Mata-Nui, and that the Metru-Nui bohrok have their own bahrag? 85) Not bohrok related but... I have heard about a Great disk of Time being released as a promotion. What set is this going to come in if any? An expensive one or none expensive? Cause I really want it:

91) Yes 102) No, Makuta did 113) Yes 124) No 135) The Vahi and the Disk of Time will both be in specially marked packages of Vahki at Target.
14Greg

151) I thought so. 162/4) Well there goes my theory down the drain. 173) I thought there might be individual signals so the metru-nui bohrok could be awakened without the mata-nui bohrok being awakened or vise-versa. 185) Is that out now:? I'm still missing 3 vahki. ^_^

15) The Vahi and the Disk of Time will both be in specially marked packages of Vahki at Target.
2Greg

3:blink: Did he just say what I think he just said?
4Vahi: YAAAAY:::: Hopefully it will be different from the original, so that they can retain their value. Maybe it will be gold, or will be designed slightly differently.
#2097
1Well there's a topic discussing that and the disk of time on the hot topic list.
#2098

1I understand your quite busy, so I'll get right to the questions.

21: will the noble hau be in a promotion? becuase i was wondering if it'd come free with bionicle 2 the movie. 32: is there any chance that there'll be a toa of time? perhapes jaller gets his hands on the vahi, or something like that? 43: how many forms is makuta gonna have? 54: does makuta have any connection to the rahaga? 65: will we ever see the other 5 toa disks? (as in, real set/promotions, not comics) 76: takanuva is a toa olda, so why is he so much stronger than the nuva? 87: will there ever be a vahi nuva? 98: will makuta's next plan have anything to do with the vahi/kanoka of time? 109: will tahu's noble hau (if he becomes a turaga) differ from lhikans, since their great masks were different? 1110: okay, I'm confused.....when vakama gave jaller the noble hau lhikan once wore, did it take the form (shape) of a great hau just to fit him better, or is the hau the same(shape) in both great and noble forms? 1211: if someone (toa or turaga) borrowed jallers noble hau, would it still have any power? or has it ran out of power by being on a matoran too long? 1312: did lhikan intend to become a turaga, or did the dark hunters, suck the toa energy out of him, or something?
14thanks alot in advance.

151) Noble Hau does not exist in plastic 162) I doubt it very much, because no Toa can control the Vahi for that long of a time. 173) He can have as many as he likes 184) You will have to follow the story and see. I cannot discuss 2005 storyline, it's too early. 195) Far as I know, they have not been produced 206) He's not. He simply has a power that is better suited to fighting a creature of darkness than water or stone is, etc. 217) Highly doubtful. Vahi is powerful enough as it is 228) Watch the movie 239) No idea, I don't know if Tahu will ever even become a Turaga. 2410) It is not the same shape in both great and noble forms. It morphed when put on Jaller because a) it was meant as a tribute to Toa Lhikan and cool.gif Jaller had never even seen the Noble Hau. 2511) I doubt it has run out of power, because Jaller has never used any of it. 2612) Lhikan became a Turaga because he invested the Toa stones with his Toa power. Once that power was tapped, to create the Toa Metru, he no longer had it and so became a Turaga (and had, incidentally, fulfilled his destiny by creating new heroes).

28um, about number 8, I meant after lomn. 29more questions 3013) will we see any other dark hunters than krekka and nidhiki? 3114) are the other dark hurters all unique? or are krekka and nidhiki just weird? 3215) what happened to the other toa before lhikan? did they die or leave? 3316) if a toa sacrificed their toa power to a turaga, could that turaga possibly become a toa again? 3417) if the toa were willing to, couldent they simply do the same as lhikan, and make 6 matoran toa, and then each of them makes six matoran toa, and eventually everyone'd be toa? it'd be like a power pyramid scheme.lol 3518) jaller & takanuva were revived by their masks,so is it possible that someone could revive a toa by his weapon/s (co-lhikan-ugh) 3619) when makuta was impostering dume, did he take his mask, or just shape-shift the kraakan into a kiril? 3720) if he simply shape-shift the kraakan into the kiril, did makuta ever destroy the original kiril? beacause if not, then perhapes they might find it lying in the ruins of metru-nui and maybe revive dume?
38as you can see, I want to see lhikan and the original dume be in the storyline/more
39thanks alot in advance

40Re: #8 -- his plan in LOMN involved the Vahi, and how do you know there will be a next plan? He was seemingly crushed at the end of MOL.
4113) No idea 4214) I think they are all unique 4315) Some went on missions and died, some went on missions and never came back and no one knows what happened to them 4416) No. You cannot go from being a Turaga to being a Toa. Nor have we ever seen Toa power invested in a living being, it has always been into an object. 4517) No, because eventually the first six Toa would lose all their power, and so on. It takes a lot of Toa power to be able to make a stone that can turn a Matoran into a Toa. Also, a Matoran cannot become a Toa unless it is his destiny to do so -- you can't just grab any old Matoran. 4618) No. 4719) He used a Noble Kiril, it may not have been Dume's exact one, though. 4820) The real Dume will return to the story eventualy.

1Here's some bohrok questions that had been "Bugging" me. (Pardon the pun :psychotwitch: )

2Alright, I have some questions about the Bohrok. In a post in the Official GregF Discussion topic, you answered another members PM about the Bohrok:

33) If yes to 1, were the bohrok under Metru-Nui awakened too during the bohrok saga? 43) Yes

5So does this mean that Metru-Nui has essentially been "cleansed", with no one there to stop it?
6If so, does that mean that all the technology would be detroyed and the island turned into a chunk of rock, or worse yet, the Bohrok are still rampaging through it?
7Also pertaining to that, would the Turaga be able to remember how to re-build all the technology, if it had been destroyed completely?
8Thanks for your time, 9-CToT-

101) No. The Bohrok had no "programming" related to Metru Nui. Their job was not to cleanse Metru Nui, but Mata Nui. So they would have passed Metru Nui right by on their way to the surface.
112) Some of the tech, not all. The same way that if you had an electrician, say, he would know how to restore the wiring in a house, but not the plumbing .. or if you had a computer programmer, he would know how to use a computer when it was working, but maybe not how to build one. The Turaga know some aspects of some tech and how it worked, but nowhere near all of it.

1Hi Greg: I have a few questions...
21. Did the eclipse and bioquake happen the moment Mata Nui had completely 3fallen asleep?
42. Lhikan seems like such a great character. If he hadn't have died 5would you liked to have used him as a major character in the comics?
63. Lhikan didn't originally come from Metru Nui right?
74. Did Lhikan have visions also?
85. What happens to a Toa or Turaga when the die; do they "cross over" 9or are their bodies used as replacement parts for the Matoran?
106. If the characters cross over, could Lhikan still communicate with the 11Toa Metru?
127. Why wasn't Lhikan "eliminated" like his fellow Toa? He was merely thrown 13in a sort of prison.
148. You may not be able to answer this but, you described the Rahaga as 15beast masters. Since the Toa Hordika are half beast, is there any 16connection?

17That's all for now: Thanks:

181) That isn't a bad theory. 192) Well, he would have been around, I am sure. 203) No 214) No 225) I really can't answer that. The whole notion of "crossing over" brings too much religion into this, which is something we try to avoid, as it is too touchy of an issue. 236) See answer to #5 247) You don't know that they were killed. Some may simply have sent out on missions far away from which they have not returned. 258) You will have to wait until next year and find out.

1Okay, I've got just a little bit of info from Greg Farshtey. It's mainly about promos. 2This one goes ou to all the people who can't afford the huge Toys-"R"-Us sets:::
3PROMO SPOILER:::

4Hi Greg:::How's the family?
5I have a few things I'm worried about...
6I heard there's going to be a vahi and kanoka of time promo a target (which is a very good thing). 7Here are my questions:
81) Is the promo vahi going to be gold or orange?
92) What color is the kanoka of time?
10and, most importantly, 113a) Are the sets they come with gonna cost a ton?I really don't have much money right now...
123b) or are they going to be given away?
13Thanks.and if you can't answer anything else, at least answer "3a".
14-GO *is dying for a vahi*

151-2) No idea, have not seen them.
163) They are going to be in specially marked packages of Vahki, like the shadow kraata were in the Rahkshi last year.

1Juicy info 'bout the Dark Hunters in here, Questions normal, answeres underlined, my coments in Red.
2Okay, i've been thinking about these questions for a -vey- long time...
31. Is the Rahaga pic a Prototype or what?

41) It's Rahaga, and no it's not a prototype. We don't publish prototype pics, because that is a good way to give your competition an early look at what you are planning. Also, it is late September, the set comes out in December, they are already manufactured and packaged.
5All well, we win some, we lose some...
62. Will the Dark Hunters pop up again? (Or any Dark hunters in that case)

72) Eventually, it's possible. I certainly hope so.

8YES:
93. What do you think of the Lego spin-off Mega Blocks

103) It's not a spin-off, it's a competitor. And I have no experience building any of their stuff, so really nothing to say. I think people who build with LEGO and then build with MEGA can see the differences for themselves.
11Man, is Greg a philophsier
124. What did you do before Bionicle?

134) Prior to working at LEGO, I was a journalist, a game designer, and a copywriter.
14I wonder what games...
155. Besides books and comics, what else do you do?

165) I write the LEGO Magazine, the Shop At Home catalog, web copy, and whatever else they need done here.
17Wow, Greg's a handyman: 186. Who's the "boss" of Bionicle?

196) Our franchise manager is based in Denmark, and Bob Thompson is head of the story team.
20I didn't know that.
217. How long have you been working with Bionicle?

227) I started at LEGO in October of 2000 and started working on BIONICLE not too long after that, maybe a couple months.
23So... nearly 4 years:
248. How do you pronounce Lewa?

258) I always pronounced it Lay-wah, but I think it may have been pronounced differently in MOL.
26I pronounce it Lay-Wah as well.
279. Do you have any part in Set Designing?

289) No, not really. Sometimes I get to see stuff ahead of time, but in general, not. The marketing people are the ones who get to give feedback to sets, usually.
29You learn something new every day...
3010. For the Brickmasters, if someone joins, they get that big amount of bricks right?

3110) You get a set of 181 pieces along with your LEGO Digital Designer software, yes.
32Coolness:
3311. Can you tell us anything about '05 Bionicle?

3411) No.
35Duh.

1You probably already knew this but...
2QUOTE 3Just a quick question here. OK. When the toa first fought Makuta in the rahi saga they shot six blasts of elemental energy and destroyed him. In the bohrok saga they attacked the bahrag in the same way and the bahrag were trapped in a protodermis cage. How come Makuta wasn't trapped?

4Simple. They shot six blasts of elemental energy, yes, but they did not combine them together -- they were six individual blasts. The creation of solid protodermis requires that the blasts be merged into one beam.

#2105
1Whoops. forgot the SPOILER: warning. :D

2Hi GregF: In LoMN it says that Turaga Lhikan gave the Toa "meaningless tasks", in order to make them activate their mask powers. So is that kind of like in the book Eragon where Brom the Old One says:
3"Elders used to teach youths magic by ordering meaningless tasks done, such a starting a fire on wet wood, or to fill up a draining bucket with water. Eventually, the youths would become so frusterated that their only resource was to use magic to start a fire, or plug the hole."

4Is that kind of what Lhikan was doing? Making them so frusterated that they concentrate enough to use their mask power?
5Thanx:

7Have no idea, never read the book. I really don't read any fantasy fiction, have never really had a taste for it. I believe the scene is actually based on Asian philosophy, where you are supposed to see beyond the task itself to see the true meaning. But I did not write the scene in the movie, so don't know what the screenwriter had in mind.

8Greg

9If you have read Eragon you know that that is not exactly what Brom said but it's close. Anyway, that wasn't much help. But now we know that GregF doesn't have a taste for Fantasy Fiction, in which I do. :D

4Well technically Bionicle Science-fiction, not Fantasy. Fantasy contains knights and the such. Sci-fi contains futuristic themes.

2Well Bionicle isn't in future - I guess you said that because the characters are bio mechanical - yes, but they havent any technology - all they tech is based on power of kanoka disks and their own muscles. Then i guess Bionicle is fantasy (Basically toa are knights, and power of their masks is magic)

41. Their power is not based on that, it's based on Vahki, and Porotdermis, and airships and chutes, technology.
52. Masks aren't magic, they're protodermis. Matoran need masks to survive.

6-LotM-
#2111
1Protodermis is sorta magic. Unless you say it's some sort of omnipotent liquid nanotech, there's no other way to explain it. All matoran "technology" is based on protodermis powers. Plus, look at the rest of bionicle. Elemental heroes, shadow powers, great spirits, that sounds like sci-fantasy to me... GregF himself has said bionicle is a fantasy universe.

4Being set in the future doesn't make something sci-fi, just so you know. "Futuristic" means, looking like a style that we interpret as more advanced than anything in our history, and thus could only happen in the future... it doesn't mean the story itself has to take place in the future.
5Anyways, folks, you can't just sum up Bionicle by saying "fantasy" or "scifi"; I'd say it's a little of both, but in its own way. "Scifi/fantasy" perhaps.... By "fantasy", Greg probably means the stuff like knights and magic, not bio-mechanical beings and sci-fi sounding mask powers. ;)
#2114

1Yeah. Knights Kingdom is Fantasy, and bionicle is defnitely not the same.
2Essentially, if something involves robots, its not fantasy, or at least pure fantasy. Bionicle is best considered Sci-Fi with fantasy elements.
#2115
1I'd say Bionicle is mostly fantasy. The sci-fi elements are purely visual, with little bearing on the story. The characters may be psudeo-mechanical in form, but in function they are basically the same as any human, animal, or fantasy creature. The few true sci-fi elements in Bionicle would be small things like the transport chutes and Vahki. Also, I wouldn't say that the mask or disk powers are sci-fi-ish... they definitely have a fantasy vibe in that they perform supernatural feats with little explanation other than that they have the "power" to do so. It's not like a shrink Kanoka is mechanically engineered from scratch by a Matoran scientist to have its intended effect... it's merely a product of the innate power of the energized Protodermis used.
#2116
1Yes, but the difference betweenfnatasy and Bionicle is, for one, that the Bionicle mask powers could be explained, and are technology (or so I think). If, say, a wizard had a magical staff, which shot beams of fire at the wizard's will. No one would want to know how the wizard did it. It'd just be explained as magic. But for, say, Tahu. We don't say it's "magic", and it could, conceivably. be explained. It doesn't have to be an explanation that, if you tried it, would work in real life. Sci Fi isn't like that.
2:bzpower: 3Tomiam
#2117
1This might make a good poll.... ;)

2BTW, Tomiam, You do know the masks aren't tech in the sense that they are machines, right? No machinery parts; just particle physics...
#2118
1Well, couldn't the wizard's fire staff be explained through particle physics if you wanted to?
2I still think Bionicle is much more fantasy than sci-fi, but no one cares what I think.

1i got something on the 9thBA book from greg today

2hi greg,

3i was just wandering if you could tell me the BA9's title?

4toa_metru5

5I would if I could But BA #9 is the movie novelization, and no official title has been given to the third movie yet, so BA #9 has no title yet. We are just referring to it as BIONICLE 3: The Movie until we have a real title.
