1Hey Greg. Just a few thoughts I had.
21. Matoran were based off of Agori, as we know. And here's the match-up: 3Matoran - Agori 4Fire - Fire 5Water - Water 6Stone - Rock 7Plantlife - Jungle 8Ice - Ice 9Earth - Sand
10This leaves the Matoran elements of Air, Light, Sonics, Gravity, Plasma, Magnetism, Lightning, and Iron unaccounted for. Since there is a possibility that there are Agori we haven't seen yet, would you say that there might be Agori of these elements, or parallel ones?
112. There are two locations of Spherus Magna mentioned, the Great Sea and the Northern Frost. Would those have been the territories of the Element Lords of Water and Ice, respectively? 122a. Also, would the caverns of sub-zero temperature (noted as being part of the Ignika's creation) be located in the Northern Frost?
133. Also, you said there were probably many Vorox already on Bara Magna prior to the Shattering, as they are a sand tribe and have an affinity with the desert. However, the Crossing states that the Wastelands used to be a large jungle, and that many could still hear the cries of sea birds wheeling overhead - or something like that. :PFirst it used to be a jungle, now a desert...care to clarify?
144. In all the pictures of The Legend Reborn, Bara Magna's two moons appear to be green and blue. Would that happen to mean that one contains jungles, and the other water?
15Thank you for your time.

16:t: :m_o::c:

171) Not to my knowledge, no. The Great Beings did not necessarily have to have a template for every type of Matoran they made. Once you have the basic idea of building a villager around an element, you can do that all day. 182) Yes 192a) No 203) Simple. The transition from jungle to desert had already begun before the Shattering ever took place. Most deserts on our world were once lush and green and transitioned over time. In the case of BM, the Shattering accelerated that process. 214) No idea, I didn't work on the animation and the color of the moons is not specified in anything I wrote. That was the animator's decision.

221. Darn, thought I had something, there. 232. Cool. 242a. Darn again. 253. Well, I guess that makes sense...the Sahara Jungle, anyone? :P264. Triple darn.

1A few mistakes I would like to correct. 2First, red plus blue = purple, not green. 3Second, only a Kaukau Nuva can let a Matoran nearby to breathe water XP

4Actually, when fusing Kanohi and Kanoka, red plus blue more often than not equals green.

5@Matkerzah: Ah heh heh heh...whoops. Well, it looks like both me and Greg made some mistakes...
6@Aravagantos: I don't quite understand what you are saying...
7Hey, why does everyone have such long, hard to spell, names? Sigh...
8~Kahinuva :k::h:

9A Kanoka/Kanohi's power doesn't have to be related the powers of the Kanoka merged to make it. For instance: Removes Poison + Enlarge disks = Mask of Translation.
#7243
11) Before the Skrall arrived, where there any Glatorian employed by the Rock Tribe or they didn't participate in the social system at all? 22) On "The Crossing" it is mentioned that Strakk had a good relationship with Malum, is this true? 33) If so, how did Strakk react when Malum tried to kill him?

41) Rock tribe came with the Skrall, so no 52) At one time that was true, yes. 63) How do you think he reacted? How would you react?

7I should have formulated question number 3 a little better...
#7244
1I got tired of scrolling so I started a new post. These are the replies from our most recent topics, and some new ones.

21. Could you please explain why there are random robotic appendages scattered across the Bara Magna Map?
32. Would a Toa of Magnetism and a toa of Lightning grow stronger and more powerful when in the presence of one another because of the laws of electro-magnetism?
43. Could Mata Nui use his intellect to help improve the Bara Magian's standard of living?
53a. Could he help them invent new technologies, or rediscover old ones?
64. Why did the GBs have reason to create multiple failsafe for Mata Nui's health, but nothing for a rebellion? Yes the Mask of life would stop everything from going wrong but this would kill Mata Nui as well.
75. If Tren Crom isn't able to help the Rebs then why did Artakha send Lewa to enlist his services?
86. Does Brutaka have every Makuta power, especially teleportation?
97. Is the Staff of Artakha still intact?
108. When you said that the Staff could make five Olmaks from Five pieces why did you say that they might not all have the normal amount of power?
119. Is Artakha still alive?

121) No, I can't, because it relates to future story 13Me 14Does that mean that at some point we're going to see a big battle between two massive robots? Man, That would be epic .
152) No, because the average 8 year old reading the story doesn't know what the laws of electro-magnetism are and I am not writing a science textbook. 16Me 17Aww, to bad, guess its back to semi-scientifically accurate fanfic then.
183) In what way? 19Me 20I'd say helping them to design homes that provide better shelter from the desert's harsh extremes. Maybe enlisting the aid of the ELs to make small improvements to Bara Magna's climate and resources, (There must be an EL of Iron somewhere, that could create new metals for the Agori to work with, and an EL of Plantlife/jungle could grow better food producing/drought resistant plants, and an EL of water (If such an EL can exist in the desert) could water them.

213a) Well, they really haven't got much in the way of resources to be able to invent technologies. He would certainly know about tech they don't, but would have no way there to build it.
224) Simple. Let's say you build a MINDSTORMS robot and program it. You don't want to risk it falling off its shelf and breaking, so you put pillows on the floor to cushion it. You don't want your little brother to break it, so you make sure it's high enough he can't reach it. But are you worried that the robot might revolt against you? Probably not. The key phrase is that the GBs made their creations with "better AI than they knew" -- they had no idea the AI was going to spawn things like ambition and jealousy, so they had no reason to prepare for that. 23That explains it, thank you.
245) You're assuming the characters all know Tren Krom's limitations. Why would they? 25(Huh? I don't know what you're talking about . 26I just wondered why Artakha (who knows a great deal more than most beings), would send Lewa to someone who can't help.)
276) Seems to
287) If it wasn't destroyed when Daxia was
298) Because that's a possibility. The Staff has to recreate the mask from one powered shard, and we have never seen that done before, so we don't know if the mask winds up as powerful as it was before. Probably it would, but we don't know that.
309) Far as I know, I have no plans to kill him off 31Yay .

32Now for some new Qs
331. Where did all of Spherus Magna's resources go when the shattering happened?
342. It seems that if the Red Star provides enough thrust to get a 40 million ft tall (&who knows how many tons), robot off of a planet, the massive jet blast would flatten a large section of the planet Mata Nui is leaving. Would you Care to explain how this scenario would be prevented?
353. The GBs have incredible powers, but do their powers allow them to create things out of nothing or transmute and reconstitute matter into a new creation?
364. You said that since there aren't any plastic golden Kanohi Nuva, you don't want to add them to the story, but what about all the other masks that haven't been used in a real set, like the mask of Intangibility, and creation, yet are featured in the story anyway?
374a. Would Golden Kanohi Nuva just be too powerful?
385. Would Terry be at a loss if every source of Energized Proto was destroyed?
396. With Veson traveling to other dimensions, will he become, well, educated by seeing what different dimensions are like? In other words, Will he directly or indirectly benifit in any way by traveling and seeing so much?
407. When Terry blasted Brutaka's mask, Brutaka didn't seam to suffer any weakness from being deprived of his mask. Why is this?
418. Are there any more of Brutaka's Species?
429. What type of Mask does the Good Terry wear? An Avohkii perhaps? I ask this because we Know he isn't wearing a mask of shadow.
4310. Could all of the alternate Takanuva be cured of their shadow, with the Klakk's sonic scream?
4410a. Any chance that they will be cured at some point in the story?
4511. Can a Toa of Iron create other metals besides protodermic ones, like Gold, Platinum, and of course normal Iron?
4611a. Can an Iron EL create metallic Protodermis?
4712. Will Brutaka's Antidermis "power-up" ever ware off?
4813. I remember hearing you say somewhere that there might be more than one Great Spirit in the main Universe. Is this Correct?
4913a. By saying Great Spirit, do you mean the giant robot type?
5014. What do Takanuva and Nuparu hope to accomplish by fixing the Teleportation device?
5114a. Would fixing it help them in the long run?
5214b. what could the Teleportation device do?
5315. If Mata Nui hadn't died, would Terry still have been able to take over the MU?
5416. Do the GB's secret labs contain useful weaponry,
5516a. tools,
5616b. information,
5716c. Records, lists, descriptions, and/or walkthroughs of different technologies,
5816e. Project descriptions instructions?
5917. Is it too soon for me to ask how "toa" Mata Nui is going to leave Bara Magna?
6017a. Does it involve a second massive Robot?
6118. Why can't MU inhabs Create masks that blend two or more powers into a combo? Like Fate+Speed+Strength?
6219. Are there limits to what kinds of projects the mask of Creation can envision? If so what are they?
63Thank you Very much . 64Bye

651) Means the reason there are robot pieces scattered around gets revealed later, that's all
663) MN would certainly know things like how to design better homes, but don't hold your breath waiting for ELs to help the Agori.
675) Again, you're assuming Artakha knows that. Don't.
681) Well, Spherus Magna broke into more than one piece. Consider this -- Earth splits up into different pieces. Now, Earth has lots of natural resources. The part of Earth you are on, though, is the Gobi Desert. So how many resources would you have access to? Not a lot. But the person who is on the piece with, say, a tropical jungle on it might have access to a lot more.
692) Simple. I'm the writer, and I decide it doesn't happen. My universe, my rules.
703) Who said they have "incredible powers?" We have never said that anywhere.
714) Simple. I wanted them in the story. I don't have any need for a golden Kanohi Nuva in story, so no need for me to add it. The only reason to add it would then be if it existed in plastic and I had to promote it, but since it doesn't, I don't.
725) At a loss for what?
736) Time will tell. He doesn't seem to stay anywhere very long, though
747) Brutaka is not dependent on his mask the way a Toa or a Matoran is. Different species.
758) Don't recall, I don't think we ever said he was the only one of his species
769) How do you know that?
7710) Yes
7811) Probably not, no, though he could control them as Gali controls non-protodermis water 79So there is an EL of Iron . Now we need to confirm the existence of ELs of the other non-basic elements
8011a) No
8112) Time will tell, probably
8213) No, I never said that. 83Oops
8414) Reaching another dimension to bring back help
8515) No, because Mata Nui's spirit would never have left his body, so Makuta's spirit could not get into it.
8616) I can't answer this
8717) Way, way too soon. He hasn't even arrived yet 88I keep forgeting that.
8918) Basically, for the same reason you can't make an ice cream sundae that fires laser beams and boils water. Because they can't, masks do not work that way. Think of it this way - you have a red marker and a blue marker. If you mix them together, do you get something that is half red and half blue? No, you get green, another color entirely.
9019) Not something I have worried about, since I have spent very little time on that mask in story

6As Aravagantos pointed out just a few posts ago, when mixing Kanoka/Kanohi powers, red and blue can quite often equal green. The example he used was Removes Poison + Enlarge disks = Mask of Translation.

1Okay, guys, that's enough Kanoka colour metaphor discussion. If you feel inclined to discuss it further, make a separate topic about it.
#7249
1Here's something new guys .
2Hi Greg.
31. I've seen in the OGD and on the map of Bara Magna that there are "limbs" scatter throughout the desert, and might I ask if these limbs are somehow connected to Mata Nui, the Great Beings, or the shattering in anyway.
4Thanks in advance.

5The why and wherefore of those limbs gets revealed in the movie, so I can't discuss it now
#7250

1Hi Greg. I was thinking about the Element Lords being made of their element, and it got me thinking: do the Element Lords have any connection to the fire entity, and possibly the Vatuka?
2Regards, 3BT

4No

1Hey Greg, loving the new story. Haven't PMed in a while, so I won't try to waste your time.
21. Does Gresh technically have a big role in the movie (as Malum, Tarix, and Strakk do not appear to even have minor roles, even though you had said he wouldn't have as big a role in the movie than the first half of 09)?
3-Pyro

4Strakk does have a role in the film, and so does Tarix, so not sure where you are getting that from. Malum most likely does not appear at all. And Gresh does play a role in the movie, but in first half '09, he is largely the hero of the story -- Mata Nui is the hero of the movie.

5Oh, my bad. I just took that Strakk and Tarix info from the new little video of images from the movie. Heh-heh.

61. So aside from the characters you have listed, all the other 2009ers have minor roles, right?
7-Pyro

8No, some don't appear at all, or if they do , it would be in non-speaking roles.

1A couple questions for you:
21. How many years before Mata Nui fell to the EOP were the Matoran Prototypes (if they actually exist) built?
32. Exactly what happens when a Matoran, Toa, or Turaga dies? Are they cremated, buried, left to rot, etc.?
4Thanks in advance.

51) What Matoran prototypes are you talking about? 62) Well, we have seen references in story to memorial stones, which would seem to imply they are buried to me.

71. I've heard rumors that suggest the Great Beings created Prototypes for the Matoran. I'm not sure that they are true, but I am just assuming they are.

8No, there's nothing to that. The original prototype for all the other Matoran who followed were the Av-Matoran. The idea of the Matoran was inspired by the Agori, but the GBs did not create the Agori.

1*Wich color has the Kraahkan of the Alternate Teridax ? Black ore Gold ? 2*I don't understand the fact that the Alternate Teridax wears that mask. I mean 3Shadow power, fear and anger powers ; that doesn't seem like a Kanohi the good Teridax would wear. I was more thinking about a Kanohi Hau.

45) Gold 56) But part of being good is being able to control your dark side, not just avoiding it. By wearing that mask, Makuta confronts temptation every day and overcomes it.

1I have a theory, but I need a few questions answered first. To start off: In a description of one of the crossing books, it describes the Great Beings as Scientist Kings. Also, in a PM reply to me, you included "the Glatorian were not answering to the GBs at that time. So, my first question is, did the GBs ever hold a position of power on Spherus Magna?

2Yes

3And so the theory begins...

1Here's a PM I sent to Greg:

2Hello again, Mr. Farshtey. I have some questions for you:
3Bara Magna:
41. Who created the Agori?
52. Will we see any Glatorian combiner models (like we had the Toa Kaita, Trinuma, etc)?
63. Has any of the Glatorian or Agori species been out of Bara Magna?
74. How big is Click?
85. Will the Ignika's life-draining powers be used in the story?
9Matoran Universe:
101. Had Mata Nui come close to completing his mission before the GC?
112. Are any new Toa going to come into RoS?
123. Is Takanuva's plan a sort of "Crisis on Infinite Earths"?
134. If Pouks had copied Miserix's powers, could he have all 42 Kraata powers? 144a. Could he also copy Tren Krom's and Artahka's? 154b. Elemental Lord? 164c. Battera? 174d. Mata Nui? 184e. Mata Nui (Glatorain Legend)? 194f. Krahka?
205. Is Teridax aware that Bara Magna exists? 215a. Has he left the EOP?
226. If the Ignika turned black, what would happen?
237. How did Teridax make Mata Nui "go into" the Ignika?
248. Is Alt. Teridax's color scheme all white armor and Golden Kanohi?
259. If Alt. Teridax got attacked by a shadow leech, what would be the outcome?
2610. Where is Krahka now? 2710a. Will she be in RoS?
28Wall of Stars:
291. Are the Red Star's inhabitants aware that they are in the Red Star?
302. Are there any beings that the Great Beings look up to as "Great Beings"?
313. Who created the Great Beings?
324. Are there anymore sapient life in the EOP/BM Solar System?
33Other:
341. Are we going to return to the "Kingdom" Dimension anytime soon? 351a. "Dark Mirror"? 361b. "City of Silver"?
372. Where was the "City of Silver" Dimension's "turning point" (the point where it differed from the "Core" Dimension)?
383. Was there a "Naming Day" in the "Melding" Dimension where Maku's name was changed to Macku?
394. Is there some sort of "categorization" of the Dimensions? (i.e. Earth-616, Earth-311, Earth-717, etc in Marvel's multiverse).
40Thank you for your time.
41~Kahinuva :k::h:

42K,
431) Not really relevant to the story, anymore than how humans were first created is relevant to a Spider-Man movie. 442) Nothing planned at the moment 453) Yes, prior to the Shattering, sure. Most are not native to Bara Magna 464) Click is a scarabax beetle, which are fairly large as insects go, but still not that big. You'll see its size in the movie. 475) Ignika's life draining powers -- I cannot discuss future storyline plans, K.
481) No, Mata Nui was not close to completing his mission 492) I have no plans for new Toa, no 503) Crisis on Infinite Earths in what way? I don't get your question 514) I do not believe Pouks can copy more than one power at a time. As for the rest, I would rule out 4c, 4e, and 4f -- he cannot alter his physical body, and Mata Nui in 2009 has no powers to copy. I doubt very much he could copy the robot's power, as it does not really have powers, it has devices that produce power. There's no evidence Artakha has any power other than his mask. Trem Krom, maybe, but I doubt Pouk's body could take the strain. Element Lord is irrelevant, since Pouks will never meet one. 525a) Yes 535b) No 546) Now, or when it was in the MU? 557) We haven't gone into the details, because they aren't relevant. It's sufficient that he did. 568) Yes 579) The leech would have a feast 5810) Unknown 5910a) Also unknown 601) Probably not 612-3) Not relevant. The whole notion of "greater beings" is something that started on BZP, but as in question #1, who or what brought them and their universe into being is not material to our story, anymore than if you are watching, say, the Star Trek movie you need to know who created the human and Romulan races to follow it. 624) Can't answer it
631) No plans to do so 642) I don't know offhand what you are referring to 653) Not necessarily, her name might have always been Macku there. 664) I haven't created enough of them to need to bother doing that.

67So, Teridax knows that Bara Magna exists? Hmmm...

6The City of Silver is a pocket dimension, not an alternate universe. It's a miniverse attached to the main universe, and has no locations mirrored in the main universe. :D

1Quick question: Was there meant to be more than one Great Spirit?

2No
#7267
11. On BS01 there's some info that's been there a long time, saying any being can produce Rhotuka based on their nature but they need either a natural or mechanical launcher. However, just to clarify, does this really apply to all beings or just beings within the Matoran Universe?
22. What did Po-Matoran use the Husi pecking bird for? They are seen bartering them in the MNOG.
33. Did the Great Beings use Protodermis for anything before they began working on the Matoran Universe?
44. Something I was curious about: Why is gender divided up so exclusively by element in all Matoran except Av-Matoran, while the beings that inspired them (the Agori) have either gender in each tribe? As a theory, Are the genders of the Matoran based on the genders of the Element Lords who share their elements?
55. BIONICLE Legends #6 states in its description of the Venom Eel that it is distantly related to the Lava Eels found "near volcanoes on the surface". Does this mean Mt. Valmai and the Mangai Volcano have Lava Eels?
65b. How are Lava Eels related to Venom Eels when Lava Eels are Rahi and Venom Eels are creatures of the Endless Ocean Planet?
76. Also in Bionicle Legends#6, Kalmah obtained the memories of a sea squid by brushing against it with his great tentacle. This refers to the tentacles attached to his hand, right?
86b. Obviously he can't just read anyone's mind by brushing them with his tentacle. What limits are there on this power? For instance, does it work only on sea squids or on any beings willing to submit a memory or memories to him?

91) MU beings only. At the time that info was promulgated, BM was not in story and we couldn't acknowledge its existence. 102) No idea. I had nothing to do with MNOG and can't answer questions regarding it. 113) I am sure they dabbled with it, yes. 124) No. The reason it is the way it is, is that originally there weren't going to be females in BIONICLE. Water being all-female was added at the last minute, and it set a precedent for all of one gender or the other. 135) Certainly possible 146) I'd have to go back and reread the section, A, I wrote that book in 2006 and really don't remember it.

15So, I didn't get much of the info I had hoped to. Oh well.

1Here's a PM I sent to Greg:

22. Where was the "City of Silver" Dimension's "turning point" (the point where it differed from the "Core" Dimension)? 3~Kahinuva :k::h:

42) I don't know offhand what you are referring to

5~Kahinuva :k::h:

6The City of Silver is a pocket dimension, not an alternate universe. It's a miniverse attached to the main universe, and has no locations mirrored in the main universe. :D
7Also, I believe Click is a little under half the size of Mata Nui's shoulder.

8:t: :m_o::c:

9Oh, sorta like the Zone of Shadow? What do you mean by attached, though?
10Just wondered about Click, he seems a little bigger setwise...

12Attached means just that, where Mata Nui goes, the pocket universes follow, except they remain in their parallel dimensions.

2:blink: That's a bit confusing...how can parallel dimensions "follow" anyone?

4They're relatively small, and attached to MN.

7One simple way would be some sort of extradimensional bridge in a 4D space.

1I'd suggest looking it up on BS01. If that doesn't clear it up...well... :P
2Hey Greg.
31. BS01 wants confirmation - Rock is the same exact element as Stone, just a different name, correct? 42. There is no official name for the Scroll of Preparations for Mata Nui's Awakening. Considering it was written by the Great Beings, about how to awaken the Great Spirit, and was hidden in the Great Temple, and is the only scroll in the MU, would the official name for the scroll be the Great Scroll? 53. Just curious, but you've said many times that there are things you won't add to the story because you don't want to explain them to eight year olds. Yet you then go and add things like the Masks of Clairvoyance and Psychometry. I, who am near halfway through my teens, had to look up clairvoyance, and only from extended reasearch prior knew what psychometry was. How exactly would an eight year old understand those two things? Like I said, just curious. :P
6Thank you for your time.

81) Kinda surprised they need confirmation on this, since it can be found in any thesaurus. Of course rock and stone are the same thing, why wouldn't they be? 92) I haven't given it an official name. You're also assuming the Great Beings called themselves the Great Beings among themselves, or that they would refer to their giant robot as the Great Spirit ... 103) In those cases, it's not necessary for them to know the terms, because what the powers do is shown graphically in the story. The powers I reject are ones where it's important to understand electomagnetic principles, etc., which I don't have time to explain in story.

2Yes

3How long before the Core War were they in power, right before?

4Up to it and during it

5And were the elemental lords designed with a purpose, or just to for the will to create?

6They were indeed designed with a purpose

7Did this purpose have to do with the Great Beings being in power?

8Indirectly, yes.

9Okay, I'm just going to go straight out with my theory. We know that during the war, the Glatorian and Agori were fighting under the elemental lords. Now, the question is, why would they have any reason to follow them? So, did the GBs create the ELs to help them govern over the Glatorian and Agori, but then for some reason the ELs started fighting, and drafted the Glatorian and Agori into war?

10Very good, AS. Go to the head of the tribe.

11I am awsome.

1I always assumed the EL acted as generals but never to the GBs.
2Good job AS :D

1Dear Greg 1.Scarabax Beetles fly ? 2. on the summer Vehicle set boxes in the middle of the Rock tribe maze there seems to be a Scarabax Beetles does this hold any importance ?

21) Yup 32) I have not seen any packaging art, so I can't comment on this

1Very nice, AS B), now we just need to find out why they were fighting.
