11.Why wasn't Axonn mutated while swimming through the cord?
22. Why did the shadow matoran want to be turned into rahi like creatures?
31) Because the water that high up in the cord is not mutagenic. The mutagenic water is near the ocean floor. 42) Who said they wanted to? If a Makuta wants to do something to you, you don't have a lot of choice in the matter.
1Hey Greg, I have a question for you,
2I remember reading somewhere that the Toa Nuva's memories from before they were put into the canisters are resurfacing. Is this correct?
3and now an unrelated question,
4IN that excerpt from Bionicle Legends 10, is the voice who states all the toas' names hydraxon?
5thanks .
61) To an extent, yes. When they get to Karda Nui, they remember being there before, and by the end of the year, at least one Toa Nuva will have a very clear recollection of much of what happened (and will wish he didn't) 72) Nope, they don't meet Hydraxon until later on in that story.
8I thought this was interesting.
1Hi Greg . 2last time the server ate my q's 3Thanks for your time
41. Teridax is a cool name but if there was any other name you would pick for MOMN, what would it be? 52. in Fof we see spiriah pinned by brutaka, does spiriah need to be locked up on the ship now,or just under close surveilance if he tries to conjour something up again? 63. Is Botar capable of defeating a makuta? 74. Is miserix going to be the one of the winner of the makuta comp?
8=) 9Master Miserix
101) Not really, my only choices are what is on our approved name list 112) They really can't lock him up, because they need him to get where they are going. 123) I tend to doubt it, Botar isn't built for combat so much as for transport 134) Watch my blog this week for this info
1People shouldnt even be doing that here. It's off topic.

3You double posted, Tapika.

5Sorry to say it, but you seem to be one of the most off-topic posters in here, dude.
6Now, my interesting info from Greg, nothing too important:
7Hey Greg.
8Can you remind me why Lego has to legally clear each and every Bionicle name, even if the named being/thing will never be a set that's sold? Every time I hear about "clearing names" I just wonder about the heaps and mountains of Star Wars comics and novels; I mean, I admit that I don't know for sure, but when you're spewing out a new character/alien/ship name ever other line, I can't see them bothering to do background checks on everything. It seems (again, I don't know for fact,) that the authors have pretty much free reign in that department. Is Lego just extra cautious because of the whole Maori thing, or what is the difference with Bionicle?
9Thanks a lot .
10I can tell you, from personal experience writing Star Wars game books, that any name we came up with went through Lucasfilm Legal and had to get approval. The only difference is they are approving or rejecting after the fact -- after it has already been written in a manuscript -- as opposed to BIONICLE, where we approve or reject before use.
11Simple reason is you can't use something someone else has trademarked. And you can't know if it's trademarked just by doing a Google search, because toy companies, in particular, often trademark names just because they might want to use them someday. (In fact, one BIONICLE name I submitted for 2009 just got rejected because Lucas has trademarked it, even though they have never used it.) After a certain amount of time, the trademark lapses if not renewed, so you need to know if that has happened too.
12Trust me, this is industry standard, especially when it comes to IPs. The only reason you don't see books featuring places called Alderaan and heroes named Han Solo that aren't Star Wars is that the names are trademarked, along with hundreds of more obscure ones.
13I still have a hard time seeing Del Rey or Darkhorse (especially with the comic biz not being nearly as strong as it once was,) justifying a $10,000 legal check for each little name, but I trust Greg's input.

9So did I. I would've expected Gali, but since it's he, it can't be. Since that Nuva will wish that he didn't, something bad must've happend. Hmm. Any guesses. Maybe Onua, since Earth characters are focused on the past. Maybe Tahu, since the story team likes to give Fire characters special "stuff" (Vakama's vision, Tahu wearing the mask of time, etc.). Still, I would be surprised if it's Lewa.

1New Info about the July comic..
2Hi Greg, I was wondering about this pic of Karda Nui and the July comic
3 41. Is the water fall looking thing behind the stalactite, the energy that the waters emit light or the giant waterfall?
52. Also at the end of the March comic, it says the next one comes out in July. Does this mean we don't have a May comic?
6Thanks in Advance
71) I believe that's the waterfall 82) Correct, unfortunately. Due to the amount of CGI animation they have planned for later in the year, the money to do it had to come from somewhere. So although you will get more pages of comic this year than last -- a total of 64 pages of comic story, as compared to 48 last year -- there will only be four issues.
11My bet is on Kopaka, after all he rarely talks. 1Hey Greg, I have a question for you,

1I think it's Onua or Kopaka. Could be both. Remember, He said that at least one Nuva will remember. But i find that quite interesting...
1Bet it's tahu, for reasons stated above, plus he so hot tempered I bet he did something aweful

9Holy moo cow . That's weird... ah well, the more pages the better, right? By the way, I can't wait for all this CGI animation they are talking about.
1Hey GregF,
2Sorry to bother you so soon after my last question, but I have a few more:
31) Concerning FoF, why was Lariska part of it in the first place? You said FoF would be made up of people who had no choice, and the last we saw of Lariska, she had a high position in the Dark Hunters, and was respected and feared. Why would she want to join the Federation?
42) Where the Karda Nui teams--Lewa, Kopaka, and Pohatu, and Tahu, Gali, and Onua--chosen at random or was there a strategic reason behind the choices? Because personally, I think Kopaka would have been more suited to be in the Mistika team, and Tahu in the Phantoka team, based on their tactical abilities.
53) I was going through the biosector01 wiki, and noticed in Krika's article that there was something about him going along with the plan despite not expecting it to turn out well. Is he the Makuta you mentioned a while ago, who feels that the plan is doomed to failure but thinks that the Brotherhood might possibly deserve it for their actions?
64) Out of curiosity, which character out of all the years you've written for Bionicle was the most fun to write?
7Thanks in advance .
81) You're assuming this is her choice. She was hired through The Shadowed One to do a job ... Dark Hunters don't get to pick and choose their assignments. 92) They were chosen based on which part of the year the sets were coming out in. 103) Yes 114) Oh, gee ... I would say Makuta Teridax and Vezon would be way up there for me. Vezon was (and is) loads of fun.
12I had some of these questions for a while, but I wanted to wait until I had more questions so I could ask them all at once.
131) I'm guessing that Brutaka was the client for the mission, as the OoMN probably don't want the Dark Hunters to know about them. 142) I think what happened was the sets were chosen first, and then Greg had to write a story around that.

6QUOTE 7Dear Greg, 8Could you answer these questions please (My last one disappeared):
91. Could Takanuva absorb Umbra in his light form? 101a. what would happen? 112. Would Krika try to help the Nuva secretly? 123. Why did Krika imprison Miserix if he didn't want to kill him? 134. Do you consider Takanuva to be more powerful? 145. What happened to the staff Makuta used in 2003? 156. Is Miserix good or evil (would he help the Nuva)? 167.If Gali shared her mask power with a makuta, would the makuta start to choke, have power over the shared power, or would Gali be able to control the power she shared (able to switch it on and off)? 178. What is the status of the makoki stones? 189. What is TSO's reaction to the Nuva destroying his fortress?
19Thanks . 20P.S. Of yeah, would Takanuva become corrupted if he used his shadow power too much?
211) Probably 222) No. He would actually do the exact opposite. 233) Well, what else could he do? If he let him go free, Teridax would find out Krika had disobeyed orders and kill Miserix and Krika. 244) Than what? 255) Lost in the rubble when his armor was crushed. 266) No Makuta are good. 277) No, no, and yes. The Mask of Water Breathing does not make you suffocate in air, and the Makuta would have no control over the power, only the mask wearer has that 288) Odds are they're in Metru Nui somewhere now 299) Well, what do you think it would be? If you had a fortress and someone destroyed it, how would you react?

1Hellos.
2I bought Shadows in the Sky the other day and it was amazing- One of the best books since 2005. It had a good balance of action and adventure and I really enjoyed it. I was glad to see that so much of it took place in a Matoran village, too, because Voya Nui's village and Mahri Nui were sort of pushed to the background in their years.
3The dialog was well-done and kept to the spirit of the Toa Nuva from their beginning. I was very happy with it, but I had a couple questions on several points:
41. It mentioned Kopaka using an "ice shield" to block attacks several times... Has he kept his shield that isn't present on the set? (Sort of like Nuparu's blade.)
52. In the first two movies there were vines that grew underground and glowed brightly. (Takua once plucked off some leaves and put them above his head like glowing bunny ears, if you remember.) Though they had no thorns and were a different color, I was wondering if you think that these were a type of lightvine.
63. Is the Matoran/Rahi hybrid that Vican flies on the Brickmaster set? (It seemed it got a lot of screen time for a non-set.)
7And some not quite SitS-related questions:
84. Are lightstones powered through Karda Nui?
95. Underneath his adaptive armor, is Pohatu still brown?
106. All of the Nuva but Lewa have had their eye-colors changed in the sets. 11I assume that, because they've only put on new armor, their new eye-colors are non-canon. Am I correct in this assumption?
121) No, that literally meant a shield he made from ice 132) Could be 143) No, that doesn't show up until fall 154) And through Metru Nui as well 165) Good question... how much of a Toa's color comes from someplace other than his armor? 176) The change in "eye color" could well be a result of the fact that there are filters over their eyes in the new masks to protect their optics from the effects of high speed flying.
181. Darn. 192. This'll make things hard to post on BS01... 203. Okay. 214. I was right . Huttah . 225. So he most likely still has a bit of brown under there. 236. Interesting...
1Now number 4 is very interesting....
181. Ack, I was hoping for a straight answer, but this could turn into something... 192. Good, didn't think so... 203. Dang it 214. This explains a lot... a whole lot. 225. Ah well. 236. I was right on that one... 247. BLAST .
2QUOTE 3Hello, Mr. Farshety, just some questions....
41.) Is a Toa of Iron able to change properties of metal, such as color, luster, brittleness, etc? 51) Good question. I would first have to consider whether a Toa of Fire can change the properties of fire, or a Toa of Earth the properties of earth ...
62.) Would a Toa of Lightning be able to create storms by herself? Or does she need another Toa, like Water, Air, or both? 72) No, they would not be able to create storms, because electrical energy by itself does not cause rain, right?
83.) Does the Toa Ignika's sword have a name? Like "Lifesaber" 93) Don't recall
104.) Were the BoM always sort of "shady"? Based on the Mutran chronicles, they all seem kinda evil even though it was before the planning of the Great Cataclysm. 114) Yes. That was their whole problem, they were never doing good for the sake of doing good, they were doing it because they feared the consequences of not doing it.
125.) Can a Toa of Light work with other waves in the electro-magnetic spectrum (i.e. Radio Waves) or is it just light waves/particles? 135) No, he can't, because it frankly would make things too complicated for the average 9 year old fan if he could.
146.) Lewa... I've heard it pronounced three different ways, including "Lee-wa" and "Lay-wa" in Mask of Light and then "Loo-wa" in the BIONICLE retrospective. Which one is correct? 156) I believe it is Lay-wa in the Encyclopedia, which is what I go by.
167.) Can you reveal anything about Krika? He looks to be my favorite Makuta thus far. 177) I can reveal that he's my favorite too.
181. Ack, I was hoping for a straight answer, but this could turn into something... 192. Good, didn't think so... 203. Dang it 214. This explains a lot... a whole lot. 225. Ah well. 236. I was right on that one... 247. BLAST .
1The Ignika's sword is called the "Lifeblade."
1If they don't do their work, Mata Nui will get mad.
1fear of consequences, eh? Wonder what those might be, eh? oh well. that is a bit interesting tho, thank you for that info.
2-Draco
3Mata-Nui unleashing his power upon them, being completely destroyed, living rest of life in torture, etc In shorter words, what Mata-Nui would do to them. You can see MoMN has overcome that fear, and, once it was safe with MN asleep, the others joined MoMN.

4Right forgot the big MN wasn't asleep yet , my bad, I wonder why he gave them shadow powers though.

1He just did. Shadow wasn't considered an evil element until the BHoM rebelled.

12Also in the first comic, he talks abou this dreams, and how they are dark. Maybe it shows us his memory is superb.

10I wouldn't. My money is on Lewa, actually. Why? One, almost irrefutable reason:
11Everything happens to him
1Everything bad, that is.
1XD. It's funny cuz it's true.
1Lewa's the BIONICLE Kenny.
1Heck, I'd extend that misfortune to all Toa of Air. Lewa was enslaved twice, Kongu had out-of-control masks, and Matau... OK, Matau got off a little easy, as he only had all those pratfalls in the movie. It was still worse luck than the other Toa Metru had.
1I'm going to say Kopaka...I've always pictured something terrible happening to him in the past (perhaps loosing someone who was close to him...a sort of father figure maybe) that made him all cold like he is today.
1QUOTE 2dear Mr. Farshtey, 3I have some questions about the root of makuta's name. did you combine the prefix "tera" and suffix "dax" to describe him as a flying rock? if that is the case, it makes sense. was teridax not his real name, but a name bestowd upon him by the BOM to describe his sturdinesss and unbreakablity, like a rock? or was this derived from "Terodactyl"? or did you compose a massive list of good-sounding names and draw them out of a hat? and in additon, is there any storyline or matoran language signifigance in that name? (E.G. barraki= warlord) 4please answer.
5We scramble letters together until we get something that sounds BIONICLE-ish. Then we send it to Legal to see what gets approved and what doesn't. From that, we get a list of what we can use, and we choose names off it as we need them. The name Teridax was on the list long before any decision was made to to give MOMN a "true name."
6Wow. that camerightoutta left kohlii field... didn'tknow that. cool.

21 it says here that vican is a shadow matoran i heard somewhere that you said that vican is just mutran's ascistance 32.is vican outside karda nui? 42a. if yes then there should be 3 shadow matoran outside karda nui? 53. 131) He's both. We have very creative set designers who don't need to copy from anyone else. 206) That isn't him talking, that's Gavla talking. 217) Because Tahu, Kopaka, etc. were all in Karda Nui long before they ever became Nuva, and Solek has heard the tales of that time.
