1So the winter 08 sets are locked. It must be really exciting to know what the sets sre like almost half a year before they reach the shelves.Greg said something about more technic in the sets didn't he?
1Here are some questions which clear some things up. Nothing TOO important ...
21) How do you pronounce Onua and Onewa? To me, they sound almost the same...
31) I have always pronounced them Oh-new-ah, and Ah-new-ah
42) What is the difference between the Visorak's paralysis spinner and Oohnorak's numb spinners? Basically, what's the physical and consciousness difference between paralysis and numbness when a foe is hit with either of these spinners?
52) There's a big difference. If your foot falls sleep, it's numb, but you can still move it. If it's paralyzed, you can't move it at all.
63) Rahkshi Vorahk's power is Hunger. For the following questions, the Vorahk in question has a level six hunger kraata. Does Vorahk need to be in physical contact with its foe to drain it's power?
73) No
83a) When it drains its foe's power, what exactly happens to Vorahk as far as where the power goes, i.e. does the power drained from the foe increase Vorahk's physical strength, does Vorahk copy its foe's powers?
93a) It does not copy its foe's power. It gets stronger itself.
103b) If Tahu were to launch fire/ If Kopaka focused an ice blast/ If Gali were to hurl water etc. toward Vorahk, could it hold out its staff and drain any powers being launched at itself?
113b) I would say no, because it is absorbing raw energy from another being, not elemental power. Look at it this way -- when the Toa lost their elemental powers during the Bohrok-Kal fight, they did not all pass out unconscious. But when Vorahk attacked Onua, he basically did pass out. Vorahk is not stealing elemental power.
124) Can beings such as the Makuta, Brutaka, and Axonn wear a Kanohi Nuva?
134) No.
14I guess the Toa Nuva are the only ones with the mental discipline and unique power to control a Kanohi Nuva...

134) No.

1Makes sense, seeing as they both end in "Nuva".
13) Rahkshi Vorahk's power is Hunger. For the following questions, the Vorahk in question has a level six hunger kraata. Does Vorahk need to be in physical contact with its foe to drain it's power?
23) No
3That's interesting. According to the Official Guide (2003), Vorahk is one of the two "MoL Rahkshi" that had to physically touch their victims with their staffs for their staff powers to work.
44) Can beings such as the Makuta, Brutaka, and Axonn wear a Kanohi Nuva?
54) No.
6I guess the Toa Nuva are the only ones with the mental discipline and unique power to control a Kanohi Nuva...
7If one were to grasp at straws, I'd think it'd be arguable that they could "wear" Kanohi Nuva -- same way Matoran can wear Great Masks, etc. The thing is the ability to use the mask powers. And I'd say it's comforting to know that there are beings (Toa, no less out there with more mental control than Makuta...

1I've been away for a bit, but has it been revealed why the Hand of Artakha disbanded?
1Actually, no. The First Toa pre-dated the exsisting of the Hand of Artakha. The reason was that of the two peace-keeping organizations, the Toa were better than the Hand, so the Hand was disbanded.
1About the barraki traitor
9He didnt answer four
21) why would he betray the others in the first place? it seemed like all of them were getting a pretty good deal
32) Was Makuta going to kill the barraki and the traitor? because thats what it seemed like in the Bionicle Legends#6 prologue
43) Would the Barraki traitor have become an agent working under the BoM like Roodaka and Sidorak or would he have gone back to ruling his own realm?
54) could you confirm one barraki besides Mantax and Ehlek who the traitor is?
61) Because he wasn't convinced the rebellion would work and he wanted to avoid being executed by the BOM.
72) Well, the traitor had not shown him the symbol at that point, so hard to say if he would have killed the traitor as well
83) Well, he probably thought he would wind up ruling all six kingdoms himself, but I think it is doubtful that would have happened.
9He didnt answer four
1Questions for BL7:
2Hey there, just finished BL7, so here we go:
31) "Jaller's burning swords..." "I'll light up my swords..." since when's he got two?
42) "Hahli, ... hurling bolts of electricity from her hands." The only thing I can think of is she's using her mask power to mimick an eel, but she'd JUST been transformed, so it seems a bit confusing to me. What's up?
53) Why would the MoLi want to resurect a being who's gonna try to stop every being who's trying to save it?
64) I never quite cought on what Pridak's curse was...
7Thanks a lot:
81) Just a typo 92) If you can use one mask power, you can use another, and it didn't take her long to figure out what hers was, in part because I did not have room to go into a whole long "wonder what my mask power is?" six times over ala Legends of Metru Nui 103) Hydraxon is an enemy of the Barraki. The mask is in the hands of the Barraki and doesn't want to be. Who better to recreate? 11(So I guess it didn't know he'd go nutzo and wanna get the Mahri too?) 124) I didn't make a big deal of it because I knew it was going to be so brief. Essentially, the mask took whatever he already was -- the substance of his life -- and made it moreso -- so more insane, more enraged, more violent, more dangerous

1Hello
21) Does comic seven take place during BL6?
32) Were the Makuta created as Makuta?
43) Can you give any hints to why the Hand of Artakha disbanded?
54) How does the Ignika pick up Hydraxon's mind?
65) Is 09 a stand-alone?
76) Are the Nuva near Odina to make a deal with the Dark Hunters?
87) Or are they there to retrieve something they possess?
9Thanks
101) Yes 112) Yes 123) I can tell you why it disbanded. It disbanded because the Toa had become the preferred and more effective public enforcers of order and justice in the universe. The Hand was no longer needed for that purpose. 134) Ignika can do a lot of things 145) That has not been decided yet, and even if it had been, I cannot discuss 2009. 156-7) Follow events here and on BIONICLE.com and find out

2You learn something new every day
3Actually, no
4The first Toa did not pre-date the HoA. According to BS01's timeline (and that comes from an extended March Brickmaster timeline we received) the HoA was created before the first Toa came into being.
5Where'd you get that from? The only thing I remember Mr. Farshtey saying for sure was that the Hand was disbanded "because Toa had emerged as the keepers of the peace."

7Basically that's all there is to it. The Toa came about and started to take over their jobs, so they were disbanded. And as it appears the Greg quote right above my post proves that

9To be honest that's a bit of an anti-climax. Still, it isn't a main story...
1These are mostly directed towards his newest topic in S&T.
2Hi Greg. Got some questions for you I you don't mind. Most of these are pointed towards your newest topic.
31. The Kanohi the BoM member found... Was it the Kraakhan? (sp?) I doubt that there are any other masks of interest in the Silver Sea.
42. Does Botar have a grudge or something against Xia since he deposited the Tahtorak there? Or was it just for amusement?
53a. Why does the Kardas Dragon venture to Mata Nui? 63b. Did it flew there intentionally? Or was it just a coincidence?
74a. When the Toa Nuva goes to Odina, will they see TSO? 84b. Just a wild theory that popped up in my head: TSO knows the location of Artakha, and the Toa Nuva wants to know where it is? 94c. Or do they "mistake" Odina for being Artakha?
101) Evidence would seem to point that way 112) Just for laughs, frankly 123a) Where else can it go? It's the only other island we know of on the surface 133b) Hard to divine the workings of the Kardas' mind 144a) Time will tell 154b) No. If TSO knew where Artakha was, TSO would be long dead. 164c) No. They haven't been asked to go to Artakha yet, that doesn't happen until the end of 2007
1about the BoM's island changing of place.
2the BoM makes hundreds of kanoka disks of dimentional gates and stacks them into pillars of 50-100 kanoka's. then they run a powerfull current through it so they are powered, and when they wish to change place, a makuta leaves his armour, and posesses the central computer controlling the kanoka pillars, and using his strong mind he activates all simultanously, creating a portal wich the island travels through.
31) in general, could this be possible. 42) separately, is : 5-stacking the kanoka disks of dimentional gates on eachother, and amplifying the power possible? 6-a makuta leaving his body possible? 7-a makuta having left his body posessing the computer possible? 8-a computer being able to control the effects of a kanoka disk?
93) how close am i to the way they do it? 104) if it wont work, will linking an olmak to the kanoka disks work? 115) or replacing the kanoka disks with olmak masks? 126) or having a single giant kanoka of dimensional gates do the trick?
13Thanks for your time. 14-frostellus
15Got a few problems with this --
16Kanoka are powered by making physical contact with something at a certain speed. I have never seen anything that says you can activate them by running current through them.
17There is also no evidence that computers exist in the Matoran universe.
18The "Makuta leaving his body" part is possible.
19Greg
20so a makuta can leave his body at wil....
21about my theory: if they add that a kanoka CAN be activated by running current through and be controlled by a bodyless makuta, the the mystery is solved
1Well, the Kanoka can be activated by putting them inside a vibrating pillar; but the computer thing...
1Just finished reading "Bionicle News Update," and I simply have to ask...3Not sure any of them are. Some are references to '08 story, and some are not important enough in the grand scheme of things to warrant being in the Encyclopedia, but are things I know BZPers are interested in.
21) Which news items (reproduced below) are in E2?

21. Could the mask of life transform Hydraxon back into Dekar?
32. Why did the mask of life transform Dekar into Hydraxon as it had already transformed the Mahri?
4Now a few questions on the news update:
53. Wouldn't the BoM member have been mutated or killed by the protodermis in the silver sea?
64. Was it a member we know about or a new member?
75. Did he rescue the Kraahkan?
86. Why were the BoM experimenting on kraata?
97. How did Botar transport Tahtorak if he wasn't defeated?
108. Why are the Toa Nuva in the vicinity of Ordina?
119. finially, were these snippets original content for Invasion
12~shadow
131) Yes 142) Well, because it was in the hands of the Barraki, and Hydraxon was a powerful enemy of the Barraki, so it seemed a logical being to recreate 153) No. Liquid protodermis does not cause mutations or death. Energized protodermis does that. Completely different substance. 164) Well, you only know of one BOM member in the story so far, and it wasn't him. 175) What's your guess? 186, 8) If I wanted you to know that now, I would have put it in the snippets 197) He only transports people to the Pit who have been defeated -- he wasn't taking Tahtorak to the Pit 208) No. All this takes place after Invasion.
21~shadow
1Just a couple questions after reading the Bionicle News in the S&T:
21) When you say the vicinity of Odina, does that mean that they're very close to it, or on it? 31 Is the reason why they're close part of their new mission?
42) Where is Vezon in all of this, I thought that maybe you would have included him in that topic?
5Thanks a lot.
61) In the vicinity of means in the area of, not on 71b) Yes 82) I didn't want to deal with Vezon there, because if BZP posts the original Book 7, he gets dealt with there
1If you can, can you clarify a bit of Sidorak's early life and maybe a bit more of the middle of his life?
2Well, Sidorak's home island was about evenly divided between his people (sort of the ruling class) and Krekka's (a servant class). At some point, Sidorak left the island and attempted to join the Dark Hunters. He failed his trial by combat, but his life was spared by the Shadowed One and he was allowed to leave. Still seeking a pathway to power, he found work with the Brotherhood of Makuta, serving as a courier between them and the island of Xia. It was during this period that he met Roodaka.
3They would both later be more active employees of the Brotherhood. Sidorak both hoped for an alliance with her (and thus influence over Xia), and considered her a rival. As a result, he stole credit for many of the things she did, and eventually was made king of the Visorak with her as his viceroy. Angered at being placed under him, Roodaka almost immediately began scheming how to get rid of him and rule the horde herself.
1A courier to Xia eh? That's new.

6Yes, it is to most people, even Utopia. I added it to the BS01 Wiki Sidorak article. It surprised me as well. 7I have another quote as well:
8Dear Greg, 9I have a question regarding Kraata and Makuta, 10Can Makuta choose what type of Kraata he will create, or is it random?
11Yes, he can
1Hello, GregF. I have some questions on the news update.
21. Could the creatures found dead in the waters where destral was be Kratana?
32. Did Axonn want Tahtorahk off Voya Nui so it would be as it once was? (like the Bohrok on Mata Nui)
43. Now that the Tahtorahk is on Xia, will it fight the Kanohi Dragon?
54. Was the BoM member trying to get the Krahkaan back to the Makuta of Metru Nui?
65. Will the Nuva fight the DH, or will they try to avoid notice?
7and some additional questions.
81. Is Vohrahk's hunger power similar to the way the Sea Squid feed?
92. Theoretically, could you make a weapon that launches Kratta at targets to infect them?
103. Storyline-wise, does Carapar have two pincers or one? 113A. And does Kalmah, storyline-wise, have one double tentacle or two single ones?
12Once again, thank you for your anwsers:
13~Shadow Rahkshi
141) Nope 152) Nope, he wanted him off because he's a handful 163, 5) Sorry, I don't want to give away future developments 174) Not necessarily back for him -- remember, his current body cannot wear a mask, and his armor is destroyed. So he can't use it.
181) Yes, in some ways 192) Sure you could 203) Two, but he detaches one to hold a squid shooter 214) Kalmah matches the set
22Carapar cut one of his claws off? interesting...
1Nothing much.
121) It means he is in the center of the island 132) No idea what he is referring to. Pohatu says a lot of things in the epilogue, so don't know which one he means 143) Because they have no choice. They're not welcome anywhere. Just like the Frankenstein monster, they respond to hatred and violence with hatred and violence 154) I don't really like to answer hypotheticals 165) Hard to say, I think the odds would still have been against them 176) You'll find out when they get there 187) See answer to #6 198) When I have more to post
2Hey Greg: Hope your having a great summer. I have a few questions if you do not mind.
31) By Tahtorak being in the "heart" of Xia, does this mean that he is in a major part of the island with many important factories, products, maybe even the Kanohi Dragon?
42) I have had no luck finding BL7, but in the News Update Topic you started, a member said something about Pohatu meaning what he said at the end of BL7. What does he mean?
53) Why do the Zyglak choose to live so barbaricly (sp?)? Apparently, they are pretty intelligent.
64) If the Inika had not been in the water at the time of their transformation, would they have gotten "scuba gear" instead of gills?
75) Had one of the Barraki not betrayed the others, would their rebellion have succeeded?
86) What will Karzahni's Matoran do when the Nuva arrive?
97) Will the Nuva rescue them?
108) When will you post more in the News Update Topic?
11Thanks for your time Greg:

191.Greg has told us that Artakha (the being) will talk in Bionicle Legends#8. 202.Also the Toa Nuva will be in Bionicle Legends#8 as well. 213.Greg has also said that the Toa Nuva will eventually be rereleased.
22Here's evidense to support my beliefs:
23Me: ( In reference to Bionicle Legends#8 )
24I can't remember where I read it but I believe you said that Axonn, Artakha, and ( not sure on this one ) the Toa Nuva.26Greg:
25Am I remembering correctly?
27Yes28You guys do the math. So what do you guys think?
1Just a couple of Qs about Kaita. 2Can Matoran form Kaita? 3Can 3 toa of any different elemant from kaita (like not water, air, ice but fire, water, air for example)? 4Can Toa of ather elements form Kaita's? 5How about Matoran? 6Are the two Mctoran Kaita canon (I knoww this is old but there was some)?
71) Yes, and Nui as well 82) Most likely 93) Yes 104) You asked this already 115) I don't believe they ever appeared in story, only the Matoran Nui has
1That's already posted that GB #1.
23he didn't "cut" it off, he just "dropped" it or chose not to hold it
24EDIT: wat's with the quote boxes?
25But Carapar's claws are natural... aren't they?
1Or do they "mistake" Odina for being Artakha? 24c) No. They haven't been asked to go to Artakha yet, that doesn't happen until the end of 2007

14I think I do not understand your theory. It's known fact that the Toa Nuva will go to Artakha (the place), and that Artakha (the being)'s voice will be heard (though the being himself will not be seen), in the Legends #8 epilogue (which comes out, with the rest of Legends #8, in December).
15But Carapar's claws are natural... aren't they?
16Yes, but unlike Earth, BIONICLE characters can detach and re-attach body parts at will (see Toa Mata's self-assemblies at the beginning of 2001); the only thing is that their organic tissue must grow back.

1Just some questions I got back today
2Hello Mr. Farshtey, this is my first time pming you and I just had a few questions 31) Is the Ussanui going to be or currently being rebuilt? 42) Are the Boxor going to replace the Vahki? If not, will anything? 53) Will the Kardas Dragon fight the Bahrag or just Bohrok? 64) Will Tahtorak fight the Kanohi Dragon?
7Thanks in advance
81) No plans for that no 92) Nothing will, nothing is needed 103) Most likely just the Bohrok, as the Bahrag are not on the surface 114) Time will tell
