1Rahaga Bomonga, what are you referring to when you say, "when he wrote that." Could you please be more specific?

2I think he's referring to " a leader of the DH" rather than " the leader of the DH".
#3323
1I see...Forget that then. ("The Shadowed One"? Not much of a name...)
2Thanks Buzz...

#3324
11. Does The Shadowed One have a real name, or is he just called that? 21) He did have a real name at one time, but no one has called him by it in several centuries. 32. Is Voporak a Rahi? 42) Ummmmmm ... Voporak is sort of a mutant. 53. Anything you can tell me about the Parakrekks, Venom Flyer, Frostelus & Protocairn? 63) Frostelus and Protocairn info will be in the March comic. The rest will be later, when the Visorak are out. 74. What specie is The Shadowed One? 84) Not defined as yet.
9I'm really thrilled about The Shadowed One - he sounds like an awesome character:

1Actuly I think Greg made a mistake when he wrote that.

2Yes, there does seem to be some conflict between Pilak's Post:
Toa Pilak Evolved

31)I just got my Sidorak...now will you give me info concerning the "Roodaka and Keetongu" and "Keetongu and Sidorak" combiners?
4ANSWER: The Keetongu-Roodaka model is The Shadowed One, the leader of the Dark Hunters. The Keetongu-Sidorak combiner is the Sentrakh, the Shadowed One's unliving guardian.

5So I guess the true amount of Dark Hunter leaders remains to be seen.

6BTW, Ikki, good answers there, maybe TSO's real name will be revealed later, but you never know. Sort of a mutant? What kind of creature is this, it sounds awesome:
#3326
11. Does The Shadowed One have a real name, or is he just called that? 21) He did have a real name at one time, but no one has called him by it in several centuries.

3Sort of like Voldemort from Harry Potterâ„¢ (if you have read the books), because he was so feared? Or is there another reason?
4Thanks, your answers help a lot:
5Ikki

6The actual line from the book reads:
7Far from Metru Nui, in a place never seen by Matoran eyes, a lone being sat and brooded. His true name had not been spoken by anyone in more than two millennia. It was doubtful anyone even still remembered it, or if they did, that they would presume to be so familiar as to use it. Those who dared to address him called him the Shadowed One.
8And since this book is not out until the end of the year, you just got a scoop, Ikki :)
9Greg

10I feel so special: Awesome stuff:

1Q:Would the Dark Hunters, as an organization, still exist in the Toa Nuva's time or did they collapse in the Toa Metru's time?
2A:Oh, yes, they still exist. The Toa Nuva did not encounter them because they had no reason to go to Mata Nui, not at that point wanting to get involved in Makuta's battles. But they are still out there, Figment, never doubt that.
3Greg
#3328
1Nice scoop Figment: It'll be really neat to have the Dark Hunters stretching into this new storyline, I can see Greg really likes them.. (Come to think of it, I do too) 2Also, nice find Ikki: This leader must be pretty darn old..

1A few more, answered by Mr. Farshtey this morning.
GregF
21) Did the BoM pretend to be good at all? As in, did they pretend to be good for awhile, and drop their pretensions once too many people knew about how bad they really were? 31) When they were doing good works, they weren't pretending. Their job was to serve the will of Mata Nui, and that is what they were doing. 43) Are we going to learn just where (and how) Makuta got the Visorak? 53) Not this year, no 64) Is there any reason for Iruini's mask to look suspiciously like a Vahki headpiece? 74) You would have to ask the product designer 85) Is the Dark Hunters' leader called a. "Shadowed One" or b. "The Shadowed One"? (Just wanted some clarification there.) 95) The Shadowed One 106) Will more Dark Hunters appear in '06? 116) No idea yet. Not as sets, I know that.

12Well, now we know that Makuta's Brotherhood was good at some point, we might be learning where Makuta got the Visorak from, Iruini's mask shape's similarity to a Vahki head is somewhat coincidental (hard to believe), and we just might be seeing more DH later on...

1I know but my point was just as Dume and Norik wear the same mask and honor some past toa prehaps before becoming a Dark hunter he and iruni also wore the same mask to honer some past toa.

2Nidhiki doesn't wear a mask and he hates Toa...Although he was one...
3It's sort of like saying Darth Vader wears a helmet because he's honoring a Jedi...
4He killed all the Jedi remaining after the CW's except Yoda and Obi-One...
5Nidhiki just has a wierd shaped head...Darth Vader wears that helmet because 6without it he'd die. (It's his life support system...)
7Besides, Nidhiki and Iruini were around before Vahki, and Iruini's mask only 8has one resemblance to a Vahki head; the things sticking out of the sides of it...
9Y'all presume so much...

1Hey Greg. Hope you do not mind at all:
21. You said That Lhikan's Hau was an older design. How come Tahu Olda didn't wear it? (I know that the Hau Metru wasn't designed in 2001, but I'm looking for an ansure storyline wise.)
32. I still don't get why at the end of LOMN, Lhikan's Noble Hau Changed into Jaller's great one. Why?

41) Styles change. At the time Tahu became a Toa, there was a different style of Hau. 52) Because Jaller's wearing it was supposed to be to honor a Toa, not a Turaga. I know that's confusing, but to be honest, the whole mask changing thing in the movie took me by surprise too -- I found out about it when I saw the film. I think the reason they did a different style Great Mask for Lhikan was so viewers would not confuse him with Tahu, but then they had to find a way to make the mask look like Jaller's at the end.

1I asked Greg a lot of questions this time, so here they are:
2Hi, Greg. I've got a bunch of questions that I saved up:
31) How tall in feet is Makuta in MoL? In the commentary it said he's 20 feet tall, but, like you said, you don't agree with some things they said.
4ANSWER: No idea.
52) Will we find out what species Nivawk (or even Krekka) is in the encyclopedia?
6ANSWER: You will get some more info on Krekka, certainly, I don't recall what i wrote for Nivawk.
73) Is there a reason that all the McToran wear the same mask as their respective Toa except Macku?
8ANSWER: Oh, gee, you are going way back -- I didn't even work for LEGO when the McDonald's deal was made, so do not know.
94) Have you seen what Roodaka will look like in Web of Shadows?
10ANSWER: No, I have not seen any footage at all.
115) Do you know who'll be doing the her voice?
12ANSWER: No.
136) Okay...Can I have any quote from Gaaki?
14ANSWER: "As a Hordika, there is little to keep your power in check. Given enough time, that side of you will take over, and you will become that which you have fought against."
157) Will Zivon Instructions ever be on Bionicle.com?
16ANSWER: The plan is to include them in the LEGO BrickMaster magazine later this year.
178) Will a colour picture of Krahka be in the Rahi guide?
18ANSWER: Yes.
199) Does Gaaki know about sea spiders being Visorak predators?
20ANSWER: She does now, yes.
2110) If she does, would she let them go?
22ANSWER: Yes, she probably would.
2311) Do the Rahaga know everything we know about Keetongu? (Such as the fact that the shield can absorb attacks)
24ANSWER: Yes.
2512) So are you definitely sure Iruini's mask is shaped like a great mask?
26ANSWER: Nope, not yet.
2713) Has it been established who Norik and Iruini are honouring with their masks?
28ANSWER: Right this moment, it isn't relevant to the story.
2914) Did the Toa Rahaga always have their metallic armour?
30ANSWER: Their armour upgrade came as a result of the job they took.
3115) Did they always have masks that honoured past heros?
32ANSWER: No. Again, they were given those as part of their job.
33Thanks in advance:

34See answers above,
35Greg

36Holy shrimp: Greg just answered to my reply in, like, two minutes:

37Hi, again. I'll just re-write a few questions;
381) I know there'll be Zivon instructions in the Brickmaster magazine, but will they be anywhere else later?
39ANSWER: I don't know. So far, no other venue has expressed interest in having them. It is always possible they may go up on BIONICLE.com a couple months after they are in BrickMaster.
402) Why were the Toa Rahaga's masks the metallic colours when they were guards? Are their new masks designed to stay the same colour even when worn by a different coloured being? (Or did their armour affect the colouring of their masks?)
41ANSWER: Well, while I do not claim the Toa Rahaga's masks were powered like the silver or gold masks -- do keep in mind that the existence of the silver and gold masks proves that metallic masks that do not change color to match their wearer can exist. So there is precedent for this.
42Thanks:

1here are some questions I asked and got a surprisingly fast reply

2Okay sorry if I am bothering you but I have some Questions
31) Will there be more books after Time Trap as in adventures?
42) could you please give us a hint as to which Toa/Rahaga becomes the traitor?
53) Will the Toa Nuva be re-released next year or will the hordika try to keep the spotlight
64) will there be anymore Toa after the Nuva
7Thanks ~TNTK #2~

81) Yes. There are currently four novels planned for 2006, but they will not be under the BIONICLE Adventures title. We haven't decided on a new umbrella title yet.
92) No. That is movie plot, and I am not allowed to discuss movie plot.
103) I can tell you the Hordika are not part of the 2006 story or product release schedule.
114) Sorry, can't answer this -- it relates to future storyline.

1Been wondering on this one for a while:
2Just the one today Greg:
3Makuta-Dume ordered the gates to other environs closed. Why didn't he close the tunnel to Mata Nui?
4Jabbadeep

5He didn't see that as a viable avenue of escape. At the time he was having the environis cut off, Mata Nui was uninhabited and barren and the Matoran would not have been able to live there.
6Greg
7But if he had cut it off, wouldn't the Toa Metru be trapped on Metru Nui?
#3339
1Hi Greg,
2I was gonna go to the book signing, but I didn't have a ride to the city. I'll try to make these questions quick.
31.) Would Iruini's desire for revenge drive him to forsake their quest for Keetongu and attack Roodaka?
42.) Can you give me any information about Voporok's or Sentrakh's powers?
53.) When will the first image of Voporok be released?
64.) Are there any cool quotes you could give me from Bomonga? (I don't have BA 8 yet, so it doesn't matter if it's from there.)
75.) Does Kualus have an advantage against venom flyers with his boomerang spinners?
86.)Do Protocairns know of the Parakrekks that follow them? Would that someday cause them to attack the Parakrekks because of their vicious nature?
97.) Will we learn the intentions of the Frosteluses in 2006?
108.) What does Keetongu use his pick-axe for?
119.) Does Sidorak ever use his sword in combat?
1210.) Do you know what Zivon's Rhotuka do?
1311.) Will the Toa Hordika encounter a chute lurker during 2005?
14That's all for now-Thanks Greg:

151) On his own? I doubt it, he would get slaughtered. 162) Not yet, no 173) No idea. I don't make that decision. 184) I would have to check 195) Yes 206) Yes, they do, and no, I doubt they care what the Parakrekks do. 217) I don't know yet. I haven't written anything for 2006 yet. 228) Climbing 239) Yes 2410) They temporarily blind, deafen, and render mute an enemy, respectively 2511) Don't think so, no.

1Venom Flyers, Parakrekks, Protocairns and Frosteluses are combo models for the Toa Hordika and Visorak--read about them in the BZP Sets Database. Look for Venom Flyers in BA #10: Time Trap (that's from Mr. Farshtey). And the Toa Rahaga's mask names will be released--sometime...
2jetslandingboard :silver:
#3342
1You can also read about them from their original source, here, on bionicle.com. I'd also like to point out that they're not the combiners found in the instructions, which feature two-set combiners, these feature the more traditional three-set combiners of the Toa Hordika and Visorak.

1QUOTE 2Here are my questions: 31. Did Nidhiki wear Iruini's type of mask? the reason to support is that they are both toa of air and Iruini's mask looks like Nidhiki as DH 42. Are Bahrag/sidorak/mata nui/the shadow one is the 'brotherhood' of Makuta? 53. Once I read that Visorak is brought by makuta to sidorak. So why didn't he give rahkshi but visoorak? 64. Can makuta get his power back from kraata by absorning them? 75. What will happen if roodaka spinner hit a hordika? 86. Is makuta put mata nui alseep is doing a 'good' thing or not? 97. Why didn't use MOS when he first battle with toa but use an inflected hau? 108. Can Kraakhan shape-shift? 119. Is visorak consider as a species of rahi? like muka etc. 1210. Actually how makuta put mata nui alseep? He just pretend to be dume and put matoran asleep. Is mata nui alseep done by his bortherhood then? 1311. Can a fully-transformed rahi turn back to normal? 1412. In the first toa olda-makuta battle, why didn'tmakuta protodemisly-blocked by the toa combined element power? 15--- 16About DH-Toa war 1713. Is this timeline right?( ancient toa(10)battle kanohi dargon -> DH war begin -> toa nidhiki turn bad and 6 toa from norik group turn to rahaga -> lhikan etc. stay and protect metru nui. ) 1814. Have lhikan etc. work with norik during DH war? 1915. Which side is makuta-bortherhood in? 2016. Is krekka involved in DH war? 21--- 2217. Was mol exist when toa metru first land on mata nui? 2318. when will B3 possibly release? 2419. Is it true that B2 is not sell as well as B1? 2520. Will we see another hero-kind instead of toa? 2621. Have u seen B3? when will u see then if not?
27THank you very much

281) Since Nidhiki as a Toa does not exist as a set, I have no idea what mask he wore. 292) No. Sidorak is not powerful enough .. Mata Nui is way too powerful .. the Bahrag are not evil ...and the Shadowed One runs the Dark Hunters, he is not part of the Brotherhood. 303) Because the Rahkshi serve him directly, and don't exist as a rampaging army, they are too destructive. The Visorak have a very specific power and purpose, and Makuta simply needed someone to lead them. 314) No 325) He would mutate 336) Can't answer it 347-8) He was wearing the MOS -- it is the answer to 8. The mask shapeshifts along with him. Otherwise, no matter what he looked like, you would know it was him because you would see the MOS. 359) Yes 3610) Can't answer it 3711) No. 3812) Because the Toa did not all strike at once in that battle. They hurled their elemental powers at Makuta, but he wasn't struck by them all at the same time. 3913) Mostly, except there were 11 Toa fighting the dragon -- Lhikan 10 -- and also, I doubt the transformation to Rahaga happened that late. They were transformed before Sidorak took command of the Visorak, so I think it was earlier than that. 4014) No. Lhikan did not know any of the Rahaga as Toa. 4115) They didn't take a side in that conflict. 4216) No. Krekka was not a Dark Hunter yet at that time. 4317) Yes 4418) In the US, October 4519) Yes, sequels rarely sell as well as originals 4620) Can't answer it 4721) I have not seen any of it, and probably won't until shortly before it is released to stores.

1Eletirick Turahk why would you like those powers.I don't understand how they could be usefull in every day life unless you were unhumane( which I rightfully assume you sre not).
#3351
1In a battle scenario, making your enemy unable to see or hear you and unable to call for help is as good as death. In a fight, if you cant see a 35 ft. high, Vissy-for-lunch eating monster from another dimension, you stand no chance. You would only be inhumane if you used it unnecessarily, like on someone who wasn't in any way a threat, or on someone just for fun.

1Eletirick Turahk why would you like those powers.I don't understand how they could be usefull in every day life unless you were unhumane( which I rightfully assume you sre not).

2The Visorak are an army. There is no "everyday life" with them, especially not where a Zivon is concerned. When they have to unleash something that powerful and that hurtful to their numbers, you have worse things to think about than the humanity of its powers. Mainly, how you're going to stay alive in hostile enemy territory.
3In other words, there is no Geneva Convention in Bionicle.
#3353
1There are also no humans, so being "humane" is next to impossible ;)
2I too like that power quite a bit
3:j:

1I understand why the power is cool. In my statement I was saying that the powers would not be humane to have in OUR every day life. I meen the power is usfull for Zivon but it would not be usfull for us humans.

1Hi Greg.
2I`m tempted to buy the Keetongu/Roodaka Argos twin-pack. But I need to know if the 3 Titians are going to be released as a big set a la Ultimate Dume. Similarly, are there gonna be any promos for 2 of them or any of them anywhere as far as you know?
3Also, does Keetongu have one eyes? Only that eye lookes robotic and when I heard he was a Rahi Well. He has a sheild and that eye. Doesn`t seem natural. Also, that `Takaknuva Staff arm`, does he have hands/claws that hold his sword and sheild, or are they fused to the end of his arms?
4Who made the Chroniclers staff?
5If Nuhrii.etc would become Toa, which I accidently read were suppose to, would Vhisola wear a Komau, Tehutti a Huna, and the others follow suit?
6What are the mask powers of Norik and Iruni?
7Thanks, 8-Taccer

91) Don't know. There is a three-Titan combo model, but I do not know if there are plans to release them in an Ultimate Dume-type set. 102) Keetongu has one visible eye, which is there to decoy his enemies. His true eyes are hidden behind it. 113) The one Takua carried was carved by Turaga Nokama. 124) They would wear Great Mask versions of the masks they were wearing as Matoran. 135) I am not revealing those until the sets are actually available for sale someplace, which isn't for another month.

1Well, if you haven't already, I'd suggest that you PM him yourself. But I think I can answer a few questions for you...
21) Krahka, Karzahni, and Tahtorak 3My best bet would be--no. Krahka and Tahtorak (I believe) are effectively knocked out of the way in BA #8, and Karzahni most likely would not be introduced because of the confusion among viewers that he might be. 42) Tahtorak's power 5Well, there's only one we know of, besides all the usual animal ones of biting, scratching, kicking, etc.--and that's Godzilla-level strength. 63) Visorak in movie? 7I'd bet. They're the main villains of '05, so they'd better be in there. 84) Keetongu's sword? 9I wouldn't think so--but he does carry a pickaxe in his left hand for climbing and a spinning shield array for absorbing attacks. 105) Keetongu's other powers 11We know that he is skilled in the knowledge of venoms and their counteragents--and besides being very hardy (he can survive a fall from the top of the Coliseum, although that would kill a Toa), I don't know of anymore.

1Hi Greg: I got some questions for you:
21. Could you give me a full description of the Kahgarak's abilitie and Rhotuka power?
32. Did Makuta-Dume know the bioquake would be followed by Visorak?
43. I just got Suukorak and Boggarak from a friend in the UK. I was wondering why there are so many mistakes in the Visorak intructions?
54. In Time Trap, will you do some fore shadowing on events that will take place in 2006?
65. In 2006, will the Toa Nuva encounter Visorak? After all, they come from another environ.
76. Does Roodaka and Sidorak get defeated?
87. When will Toa Iruini and Norik's Kanohi powers and names be released?
98. Do you know Toa Iruini and Noriks Kanohi powers and names?
109. In BA7, I noticed that you referred to Roodaka as the "queen" of the Visorak, shouldn't it be the "viceroy" of the Visorak?
1110. Which combiner do the Toa Nuva encounter?
1211. Do you know why most BIONICLE promotions never happen in Canada? (EX. Bionicle Spinner Contest, Limited Edition Vahki... etc.)
1312. When Visorak hit Canada, will they be the same canister designs as the UK ones?
1413.A. Do the Elite Toa's spears have names? 1513.B. If yes, then will you tell me?
1614. Will the Kahgarak make a apperance in the storyline?
17That's all:

I work on story, building instructions are done in Denmark. 234) No idea, book isn't written yet. 245) I can't discuss future storyline. 256) Same answer as #5 267) They will be in the March LEGO Magazine in Europe, so I am sure they will be posted on BZP then by someone. 278) Yes, of course. 289) Yes. But at the time BA #7 was written (last summer), she was going to be queen. The decision by the story team to change that came too late to change it in the book. 2910) In 2006? Can't discuss future storyline. 3011) Again, asking the wrong person. These things are negotiated directly between the BIONICLE Brand Manager for the US-Canada and the stores involved. I have no role in this. 3112) No idea. 3213) Yes, lava spear and cyclone spear 3314) Kahgarak shows up in the March and May BIONICLE comics, BIONICLE Adventures #8, and the movie.

21. If the passage ways to and from the Metru Nui dome have been closed off, how did the Frostelus get in the dome? Did they follow the Visorak?
31) Well, we know at least one passageway must be open because Nidhiki and Krekka made it to Metru Nui, right?
4And the Visorak got through... Hmm. Maybe I should have thought that one out properly
52. How does the Venom Flyer's Rhotuka work? For example, does it somehow shut down the targets ability to fly, or does it increase the weight of the target past their ability to stay aloft?
62) The former.
73. Would it be possible for a being to be transformed, by venom, Rhotuka, E.P or anything else, and then be destined to transform back into their original form, or at least a reasonable approximation of their original form, through contact with E.P?
83) I tend to doubt it. I can't see EP as something that undoes mutations.
9Suppose so
104. Gate Guardians seem to be a very formidable foe, but also seem to be assigned guarding jobs not deemed worthy of Kahgarak. So just how formidable is a decent-sized Kahgarak, compared to, say a Toa?
114) Oh, a Kahgarak is a pretty formidable foe -- they're big and strong for one thing (one knocks a Toa right through a wall in the movie), plus their spinners can toss you into the zone of darkness, where you will probably run into a Zivon.
12And I think we all know how dangerous those guys are.
135. I've heard that someone, or at least the Rahaga, can ride on their Rhotuka like physical objects, something about electromagnetic fields, I don't know. Do we see this in the storyline at all?
145) Yes, happens in the movie.
15Oooh, coolness
16Thanks in advance

11. Is each Rhotuka power unique to the character that launches it, or might it be possible for some Rahi to naturally fire the same type of spinner as Suukorak (for example)?
2Each is unique to its launcher. (Heh, oops... I just remembered that Visorak and Bomonga have paralyzation spinners.)
32. Toa tools usually focus elemental power, so Matoran can't use them. But if a Toa let a Matoran use their mechanical Rhotuka launcher, could the Matoran launch their own type of Rhotuka? After all, neither can create the spinners without the tool.
4Yes. (Awesome - so Iruini could hand his shield to a Matoran and they'd be able to fire out different-powered Rhotuka.)
53. In BA #7, why did the Keelerak's spinners fly away (seeming to return to the Visorak)? Most spinners seem to dissipate after their effects are enacted, but do acid spinners function any differently?
6They simply traveled on some before dissipating. They were not returning to their launchers.
74. Why were the Vahki able to repair themselves in BA #7?
8Another happy accident of the power surge, and because I thought it was cool.
95. Can Keetongu only absorb attacks through his shield? When information on him was first released, for some reason I was under the impression that the shield blocked attacks while special armor plating absorbed the energy.
10Yes. Shield absorbs, armor conducts.
116. After Keetongu absorbs a power, can he only fire one Rhotuka of that type? Or are all of his Rhotuka of that type until he absorbs a new power?
12Yes, just one.
137. Can Keetongu turn off the absorbing feature on his shield, so he could retain a useful power while still blocking other attacks?
14No.
158. You said something once about Matoran absorbing energy on Metru Nui as their "food source". Is there anything more you could say about this? Like where these energy "stations" are, when Matoran use them, etc.
16When Leah and I discussed this, we talked about there being a main spot in Ga-Metru and that the Matoran only had to go once a year. On Mata Nui, where they are absorbing much smaller amounts of energy, they have to "eat" more often. (Wow... didn't expect that. Was this known before?)
179. Did the Colony Drones evolve to have a symbiotic relationship with the Visorak, or do their spinners also serve some other purpose?
18They simply are what they are. Some things are predators, some things are prey. (Well, if you say so.)
1910. What are the staffs that the mini Toa from the playsets are holding?
20Staffs were originally designed for a training arena playset that we later dropped. Set was tossed, staffs remain.

3this is incredable.....i...i...wow....i never thought he would answer that so openly....i mean...wow....you rock you just got us the info on how the matoran feed on Metru-Nui:

4nut now the question is....how do they eat now that the city is with out power? on Mata-Nui i guess the suva emit something that they can eat....but still....someones got to PM him with that queation
