3Matoran speak Matoran, which we translate into English for the comics and the movie. Some terms, like Kanohi and Kanoka, are Matoran terms, not English ones.

I just started to post about how I couldn't beleive it was "Noo-you" and that I always thought it was Noo- j o o, without the spaces, and when I preveiwed, it came out to "Noo-you" too. This is probably old news to everybody, but I was just reeeeally confused.

8Anyways, here's the latest answers from Greg (had to wait for someone else to post before I could get to it):

  101) My guess is that a lot of that has to do with the fact that he was transformed by putting on a mask, which may well have imparted some of that information to him in the process. Plus he had been around Toa, following their adventures closely, for a long time -- he already knew what being a Toa was about.   20Yes, they do get damaged more often. One of the reasons for that is that if you live someplace where you know that if something breaks it is easily replaced, you are less likely to take good care of it. On Mata Nui, the Matoran had to be extra careful because there were a limited number of replacements available.

3We have never defined it in terms of feet or meters. But I believe the Toa are listed as being 1.5 bio tall, and I always saw them as being 7 to 8 feet in height.

4Well, so far, I know of Ussal carts, chutes, and airships, and then there are also special transports for the Vahki. Chutes are used the most, the same way more people use subways in New York City than drive cars. New kinds of vehicles are always being tested in Le-Metru.
53. How fast can you travel inside a chute? You had answered Bonesii's question that Matoran don't need so much time travel inside a chute from one end of the city to another.
6I saw some footage from the movie and the chutes go REALLY fast.

1Is the LEGO statue of Tahu that so many people have their pic taken with considered to be the correct height for Tahu (olda)? 2How tall is that statue, if this is true? 3According to the information that a bio ~ 1 meter, a Toa is 1.6 bio tall, and the pics that have been posted and published, Tahu Olda is 5' 4" tall.
4The Toa Nuva are about a head taller than the Toa Olda, and the Toa Metru are about one head taller than the Toa Nuva. 5This would make the Nuva about 6' tall and the Metru about 6' 8" tall, at a really rough guess. I don't have one of each Toa to make an accurate comparison. 6Does any of this come close to being true?

12I spoke to the story team and was told that a Toa Nuva is 6.5 to 7 feet tall. The Metru Nui map states that 1 kio equals 1000 bio -- the only other place I have seen a distance chart is on the BIONICLE.com Mata Nui map, which I THINK said the same thing.

You have seen what a Morbuzakh vine looks like, right -- a big, long plant vine that can wrap around stuff, etc. Well, Vakama hits a vine with a reconstitutes at random disk in the March comic and it turns into this huge, thorned vine with jaws and sharp teeth ... there basically is no way to predict how someone will come out when you hit them with this disk, they may be better, they may be worse .. they will definitely be different:

9Ok, I can't believe you still haven't watched the movie clips that aren't on the site any more (or have you?) so I'm going to describe a scene from one of them.
10Hafu knocked down his stone staues outside of Po Koro to block the gate and prevent the Tahnok from entering. Pohatu runs in and grabs Hafu in the nich of time, but doesn't know how to escape himself. So he jumps on this big rock platform, and using his KOMAU (this is during the Bohrok, he has a Gold Mask,) he sends a mental command to Huki (who's watching from above,) to kick a rock at the rocks supporting the platform Pohatu's standing on, causing it to catapult him up into Po Koro. So...... how did this happen if they didn't have Noble Masks?

142) All I can tell you is the story as I have always read and understood it. The Toa were told to go out and collect six Great Masks a piece. Once that was done, they would get their Gold Masks. That has been repeated multiple times in multiple places. Obviously, the folks doing the movies chose to interpret the story differently. I'm not saying they are wrong and you should ignore the movie, I am simply saying that is not how I understand the saga. I could certainly be wrong, and I know it has been established pre-gold mask that the Toa made use of Noble Mask powers. But here is what I wonder -- there are six Noble Masks per koro, one of which is being worn by the Turaga. So if Tahu decides he needs to call on the Mask of Concealment, what happens? Vakama is wearing it. That is part of the reason I always tried to avoid the 'Toa using Noble Masks" issue in my stories. The other reason is that it would have made the initial story even more complicated if the emphasis was that the Toa had to collect 12 masks before they could progress -- I did not have room in the comics to collect Great and Noble Masks.
15I am certainly willing to ask the head of the story team about this -- and like I said, I could be wrong. It has never been stated in any of the comics that they COULDN'T use Noble Mask powers with their gold masks -- but you asked a question, and you got my opinion on it, based on what I have read in the story bibles.

25All I can say is that everything that has been in the comics has been approved by Bob Thompson, the head of the story team. Because of that, I tend to regard the comics as official. However, as I pointed out yesterday, nothing has ever been said in the comics or in the books regarding the Gold Mask-Noble mask situation, one way or the other. You asked for my opinion, I gave it to you, and since the issue you are raising is two years old, I doubt it is something I ever will have to address in the comics. Since the web gave an answer, and nothing else published contradicts it, that's your answer.

301) Different story with the card game. The card game was never run past anyone involved with the story, it went through marketing people only. So, just as in software, there are things done for the game or for gameplay that do not match the rest of the universe. It' s unfortunate that there were inaccuracies in it, but three years later there isn't much I can do about it.
312) This is an easy one. Those masks did not exist as Great Masks until they were transformed from the Matoran masks the Toa Metru were originally wearing. And the Matoran were a little too busy from that point on to sit around carving other Great Masks of the same kind. Therefore, other versions of those masks were never made.

With an island that big, it seems it would be almost impossible to find each other unless a specific meeting place was set up every time. Can they sense each other or something? Anyways, I've thought of a simple explanation, and I wanted to run it by you. Not about the Gold Kanohi anymore, just about the old Toa collecting Noble thing. And I wanted to clarify for that on that web update where Pohatu called on his Komau, it did the normal teleporting thing; the Gold Kanohi did not call on Komau power. So I don't think that had anything to do with Gold Kanohi.
  4My idea is that instead of there being six Nobles of each, say, Komau, for example, there would be twelve. The Toa would collect the five for the Turaga that don't have a Komau, and six for themselves as extras.
  5That way if Tahu wanted to call on a Huna, as you said in that example, he'd be calling on a second one besides Vakama's. Is that possible? Or has it been said that only six of each Noble Kanohi are on Mata Nui?

1YES, bonesiii, that's pretty much what I've been saying, though you have an interesting unique idea: Or at least I think, if I read right. I always thought there were enough Noble masks to go around for Turaga and Toa, because on an older trading card it says Vakama uses a Matatu to lift a boulder. But yes, what I'm thinking, thanks to you, is that the 6 Great masks are what's required to get yer Gold Mask, and any Noble Masks you have can be thrown in there on top of it all: (That might have been what you were saying, your statement was kinda confusing.... but then again it's been a harrrd week, lol.)
2Now, then I thought, "Wait, there are only six notches on the Suva." But what if, you put your 6 Great masks on, they absorb into the Suva, and then you can put other masks on when/if you get them.
3But this raises another question, at least in my mind... In 2001, we thouhgt the Hau & Co. were the only 6 types of great masks, now we know there can be Huna & Co. Great masks too, and even others we haven't heard about: So, do you have to have a certain set of 6 Great Masks for your Suva to turn it into a Gold? I just like to think any 6 would do. (In the future, I'd love to see the Matoran learn the mask-making skills again, and get Tahu & Co. even more Great Masks: Hehe.)

11. What in the world prduced a Force Sphere? Is that some ancient object made to guard the disk, or is that something produced in Ta-Metru normally?
2It's something that happens by accident. When a portion of a chute gets damaged, a portion of the magnetic force can split off and fold into itself. It then flies through a chute drawing everything it passes into itself. When it gets too big, it wrecks the chute and then implodes.
32. What is the Moto-Hub? I would like a slightly detailed description at least so I understand what it is because it has never really been explained to me very well.
4Basically, it is the central transportation center. Vehicles are manufactured here, chute controls are kept here, and there is a test track nearby.

53. In the Le-Metru CD, that little console that was supposedly a Chute Console was called "Orkahm's Personal Moto-Hub." What exactly IS a Personal Moto-Hub? Do you control your assigned chute or something?
6No, it was sort of like a personal computer (though not one). It was a miniature version of the chute tracking screens in the Moto Hub, so he can monitor things at home.

10I didn't design the CD, so no idea.

Here is part of the Kinloka description: "A distant reltive of the stone rats of Onu-Metru, this creature seems to be the result of an experiment to produce an animal with a more efficient digestive system." Does this mean that Matoran can actually 'breed' Rahi? Or build them? I'm wondering exactly how they performed the 'experiment.'
12Who said the Matoran created it? Matoran don't make Rahi.
137. Now that you've seen the first 20 minutes of the next Bionicle movie, I have four questions. One, did it show the Toa Metru as Matoran? If so, what were their masks?
14Yes, it did, and I really wasn't paying that much attention to their masks. The impression I had is that they were Matoran versions of the masks they wound up with as Toa.
158. Who spoke in the first 20 minutes, and can you tell us what some of the characters sound like?
16All the Matoran speak, all the Toa speak, Dume speaks, Lhikan speaks ... but some of the voices are being recast, so there wouldn't be much point discussing how people sound because it may not be how they sound in the final film.

1910. What are the differences between the MOL animation and the Metru Nui movie animation?
20I'm not an expert on animation, but I certainly thought it was much smoother and the colors were more vibrant. The characters move more naturally, I think.

2Which comic?

3Again, which comic? Because that description exactly matches that of the Giant Worm in Tales of the Masks. Long and white, covered in tendrils, navigates by hearing. . . seems to be a worm. Could you post what comic that was in? I'd really like to see that.

11)Nuju doesn't seem as cold or aloof as Kopaka, as aloof as he was described. He makes that crack about being endangered(one of my favorite lines...which doesn't seem typical Nuju. So is Nuju meant to be less cold and silent?
2I didn't want to make Nuju just a clone of Kopaka. Even as a Turaga, he is kind of feisty. Like Onewa, he has a very sharp tongue.

32)In the last page of the comic, it seems as if the King Root is coming towards the Toa. Can it really move like that?
4No, the king root isn't really there. It's symbolic -- the idea is that the threat of the Morbuzakh is hanging over them.
53)In the Matau mini-game, it mentions that chute diameters can be changed when there is more or less traffic. How does this work, since there is a framework for all the chutes? Do the frameworks expand or contract as well?
6Yes.
74)I know that time is a problem for the Toa Metru, but since chutes provide such quick travel, wouldn't it be wise for them to quickly go see Turaga Dume and see if he can tell them info about their Kanohi, powers, etc?
8Dume wouldn't have any info on that, because he had nothing to do with them becoming Toa. Also, in one of the books, they contemplate doing that but realize that if he doesn't believe them they could wind up being delayed trying to convince him.

2Probably not, no, not accurately. But I think if it is at all possible for LEGO to get it done, he will be a set.

8Kohlii is koli. The name was changed solely for legal reasons.
9For #4, I meant Koli as the Soccer Version(Where they kick the ball).
10There are multiple forms of the sport and all are still played on Mata Nui, the same way there are multiple kinds of hockey -- ice, street, field -- and all are played.

18Good question. Look at it this way. Let's say there's a family that's rich and live in a big mansion. One day, there's a fire and the house is burned up, they lose all their money, and they wind up living in a shack. Why tell the kids, "Hey, your life used to be a lot better way back when, but you don't remember it" and make them feel bad ... especially if you don't know that you can ever have that life again. The Turaga had no reason to think they would EVER get back to Metru Nui.

22No. All Shadow Kraata are level 7 and are identified by their color, not their shape.
