1New questions
2Ok My question is in relation to this pic, you said to somone recently that you don't know what the pic is of, and long before that (like when it was first relesed) you said it was Nuju, so how did you get Nuju out of the pic, and now you don't know what the pic is of?
3Just wan't to be clear...

4The person asking wasn't asking what Toa was in the pic, they were asking what he was looking at. I don't know what it is he's looking at, but it is Nuju, because Kopaka is not in this movie.
5Greg

6Oh sorry ok,I didint read his hole question... 7But I'm still confused, the thing that Nuju is looking at must not be any big part in the storyline, if it did you would know right?I just wanted to know if we would find out what it is?

8It simply isn't something I recognize from the film. Doesn't mean it isn't in there, just that I didn't notice that scene in watching the film. Even if I did know what it was, I probably couldn't tell you because it is part of movie plot.

1sent this to you a while ago, and i dont think it went through, so I'm sending it again:

2I just thought of something. In "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker" the land of Hyrule is flooded and mountaintops become islands. I was wondering, is that what happened with the matoran? There was no proto in the underground cavern until a leak or something and hills and/or mountains became islands? Just Wondering.

3Say a matoran discovered they were underground in a cavern...would he be considered crazy if he told?

4Where did Lhikan get the toa stones? Coliseum?

5Will it show him getting them in the film?

6Why does Nidhiki hate Lhikan?

7What is the great evil Dume sees coming? Makuta putting the matoran to sleep? Makuta putting Mata-Nui to sleep? Both?

8Are there any other matoran living on different islands?

9Are there...things living on different islands? (Dark Hunter Isle) 10(Toa Island)

11-LotM-

121) No, Metru Nui was always on an island.
132) He might have a hard time convincing others, yeah.
143) No, Great Temple, I believe.
154) One of them, yes.
165) You'll have to watch the movie for that one.
176) Again, you have to watch the movie. I can't give away movie plot.
187) Not that I know of at this point.
198) There are definitely other places that are inhabited.

1Guys, Lhikan's tool seems to be a giant sword/shield of some sort. It could certainly be used to fly or surf if they are as they appear. Check BS01 or the trailer. The crumbling statue in the Vahki battle looks to be Lhikan, with said tool.
2:z:
#1604
1Poor Ljhikan Statue...
2Tat would look really cool in the set. I rthink the weapon I mean Tool may be changed in the final cut in the movie though.I wish the suvas could do that teleporting thing.
#1605
1hey guys, i just watched the bionicle 2 trailer again, and at the part where the narrator is saying "but as the forces of evil threaten to tear them apart..." it shows nidhiki clacking his claws together, and then he fires a blast of enerygy at lhiikan. at the exact moment when the blast hits lhiikan, you can see his tools. it's pretty cool, check it out.
2anyway, onto the pupose of this post... the latest from my inbox:
31. will the remove poison disk serve a useful purpose in a future comic or book? it seems like one of those kinda useless things.
41) It certainly might. And when you consider how many venomous creatures wander the Archives, I think it is a pretty useful disk to have
52. any info available on akilini? (the metru-nui sport)
62) There will be in the Metru Nui city guide and companion web site, out in August.
73. what is it with the "k" metru-nui rahi names? (i.e. kinloka, kraawa, kavinika, krahli, karzahni, krahka)
83) We have to, as much as possible, use words that do not mean things in other languages. There are way fewer words that start with k, so we end up using k words a lot.
94. what is the tunneler? (it's probably in one of the books, but i haven't read them)
104) It's a Po-Metru Rahi.
115. any info on the upcoming rahi like the karzahni or... there was one other one, but i can't quite remember it's name (it was something like "koruha" or something like that.
125) Not really, although the Kranua will be featured in the July magazine, it's one of the Vahki combo models. I don't want to give away details on things created specifically for the books, because I want people to read the books.
136. could a regeneration disk repair a broken body part? (i.e. a crushed matoran limb)
146) Probably not, because Matoran are biomechanical and there is muscle tissue in their limbs. It's not a healing disk, it's a repair disk.

15for anyone wondering what akilini is, it's a sport played on metru-nui using kanoka and launchers, that's all i know.
16well, there you go, stay tuned for more Q&A from the great GregF.

torritorri

1Hi Greg, just thought up a quick question...
2Is there a difference between Great Spirits and Great Beings?
3torritorri 4:t: :t:

5Yes. Remember the legend -- the Great Beings sent Mata Nui down .. therefore, Great Beings must be higher on the power ladder.
6Greg

7Hmmm...
8torritorri 9:t: :t:
#1607
11. Does the next comic take place in the darkness below? 22. Does the Movie take place during the book after The Darkness Below? 33.do you think there will ever be Bionicle book ends? :P

41) No, July through November take place during the movie.
52) The next novel is the movie novelization.
63) No idea.
7Greg

8Book Ends would be cool they could have Kopaka and Tahu and They'd be arguing with each other  or 2 other toa struggling to hold the books up. :D They would be great for the Bionicle Books
#1608
1Yes. Remember the legend -- the Great Beings sent Mata Nui down .. therefore, Great Beings must be higher on the power ladder

2Woah: I never even thought of that: I had always thought great beings and great spririts are one in the same...
3This changes the way I look at things...
#1609
1QUOTE 2I sent these before but it has been a while and no reply, so I think something happened, so here they are:
3Hi Greg, I was hoping you could answer these questions for me.
41. Where does krekka shoot out his energy nets (he has those doesn't he?)?
52. What do Krekka's weapons do? Do they shoot out anything, or are they sharp weapons?
63. How does Krekka fly? Does he have a flight mode or anything? I personally like to think that he has rocket feet or something that let him fly.
74. How does Nidhiki fly? Is it him looking like a sled, with his legs folded up and body in the down position, or is it something different?
85. Would it be possible for a Vahki combiner, lets say that 6 legged one, to be all one color, like all white, or does it have to be multi colored?
96. To me the Utimate Dume combiner looks like it has some exagerated and/or unexagerated features. Like the head being small, but having an oversized mouth and the hands are big. Are these features going to look exagerated and/or unexagerated in the movie? or is it going to look more realistic, or at least as realistic as it can get?
107. Are the Kikanalo only in Po-Metru?
118. Do you happen to remember what the winning rahi in the rahi contest looks like?
12Thanks Greg:

13-ToaNuju8606

141) Yes, but I really didn't note where they come from the in the movie.
152) I think they are more melee tools.
163) He does have a flight mode, which is shown in the movie.
174) Again, it's shown in the movie.
185) Well, it is multi-colored as we do it because it is made from parts of different Vahki. I doubt they could make it work using just Keerakh pieces, you would just have a big Keerakh.
196) I really can't answer this, you will have to watch the movie.
207) Yes
218) Yup, it's on my desk. I think it looks like a cross between a dino and a dragon.
22Greg

23my rahi is a dragon, so I might have a chance, hmm...
#1610
1And, here's the last of the ones I had already sent him.

  • 2Metru Nui's suns don't rise or set, do they? Being holes in the roof, they would stay in one spot, and sorta get brighter and dimmer?
    31) No, there is actual night and day on Metru Nui (I had to ask this one myself earlier this year)
  • 4Can Nokama hold her breath longer than other Toa? How about compared to Matoran? This came up in this topic: Nokama's Breath Problem by The great Nuva.
    52) Sure, the same way an Olympic swimmer can hold her breath longer than I can. Increased lung capacity is part of becoming a Toa of Water, the same way that resistance to heat is part of becoming a Toa of Fire.
  • 6Did the three Rahkshi fighting Nokama in The Darkness Below have their staffs?
    73) Don't recall. If they aren't described as having them, then they didn't. Any Rahkshi that escaped the Archives would not have a staff.
  • 8That's from this topic: Toa Nuva...weak?, in which Makuta Nuva9138 observed that the six Toa Nuva had a hard time defeating the six Rahkshi, while Nokama took on three at once, and won. Makuta Nuva9138's point was that this made the Nuva seem weak. I'm pretty sure it's been answered, mostly, but i was curious as to what you'd say about it.
    94) I would say that you need to remember that the Rahkshi the Toa Nuva fought were on amission for Makuta, for which they were willing to sacrifice their lives if necessary. The Rahkshi Nokama fought were basically wild animals. Smack a shark in a sensitive spot and it will decide you aren't worth hunting ... but if the shark is under orders from Makuta, it will keep attacking regardless. It's the difference between dealing with a nasty dog in your neighborhood and a trained attack dog.
  • 10You mentioned recently that the passageways to the other areas underground (I think that would be other Domes?) were sealed. Well, does this mean that many environs have to be in the same Dome as Metru Nui? For Rahi and Rahkshi to get there?
    115) No, it means they were sealed after the Rahi and Rahkshi got to Metru Nui.
  • 12You've told me that the stars (in the surface sky) are real stars; balls of burning gas billions of miles away, and all that. Any idea if these are made of normal matter, or possibly protodermis? (I'm assuming you don't, but I'm curious...):))
    136) Above Mata Nui, you mean? No, those are not protodermis stars.
  • 14Were the Kal already made at the time of the prequel? You've said the Bohrok were already asleep, so it seems the Bahrag must be too, and aren't working in their "lab" or whatever.
    157) Yes, the Kal were made shortly after the Bohrok were made.
  • 16The pool of protodermis in Makuta's lair.. I think I heard a member say once that the Turaga had expressed fear that Makuta would get his hands on some energized proto. Did he recently get that? When?

    178) I don't recall the Turaga ever saying anything like that.
    18Greg
19Oh, by the way, you mentioned in a recent answer that nobody guessed Lhikan's element. Well, actually, in the Official Lhikan topic, it had been guessed. That was the dominant theory just before you released it. I guess we didn't tell you.... (This isn't a question, just wanted to let you know that.)
20Well, thanks: ):)

21The first one I find really interesting. Apparently, the suns in Metru Nui do appear to rise and set somehow, if I'm understanding him right. Wonder how.........
22Wish I could remember my source on that last one. I never saw this officially, it was some member. Does anyone remember hearing that?

23Timekeeper, which teleporting thing? Teleporting masks? Greg told me it can. I dunno where the masks fit on it, but they must somehow. Maybe inside. Is that what you meant?
#1611
1Well, Bones, if planet Mata Nui is spinning, then it would create a night and day effect for the Metru Dome as well (assuming the holes=suns). But the holes would have to be pretty big, otherwise, you'd have twilight all day until about five minutes at noon, which would be super-bright.
2And I don't like the idea of Great Beings being different from Great Spirits. That's like saying the gods have gods. It's too stretched and "RPG"-ish. I'll PM him about some of these, as well as other questions. Soon.
#1612

2That one sounded really familiar, but I cant put my finger on it....gah:

1Hey Grag, I haven't asked you stuff in a while so I thought I'd try and come up with some stuff...
21.)I was wondering about this, then i was like "Well DUH..."So just to confirm, Vakama & Co. wore Matoran versions of their Toa Great Masks and they look slightly different. Like in MOL, Matoran Hunas have two hole-things on the mouth/proboscis, but Turaga Vakama's has three. So there are: 3A.) Matoran-version noble masks 4B.) Real noble masks 5C.) Matoran-version great masks 6D.) Real great masks. 7Right?
82.) They say Matoran are suppossed to wear Masks like the Toa's to honor them, soooo, is there a story reason we have Matoran wearing mock-Noble Hunas and such?
93.) If, by some twisted twist of fate, when Vakama was made (however they are made, I'm not asking that,) and he had been given, say, a Matoran Pakari instead of a Huna, would Toa Vakama have a Great Pakari? I guess what I'm asking is, the Toa-transformation-process, does it Great-ify whatever mask the Matoran is wearing, or is it pre-destined? (Sorry, that was confusing...)
104.) Just to clerify, I know the simple reason why no Mata Nui Matoran wear versions of Great Rurus and such is because those masks weren't dreamed up back in 2001. But is there a story reason?
115.) Was Lhikan the only Toa in his group? I mean, are there another 5 Toa (Water, Ice, Air, Stone, Earth) somewhere else?
126.) You dudes come up with Dume's past yet, or has it still been "not relevant"?
137.) Is there a reason that the Great Beings didn't send more Spirits to help Mata Nui when he was put to sleep? (If you can't tell the reason, how about just a yes or no? If not that... no harm in asking.)
148.) Is there a story reason, (other than it just being simpler,) that Lhikan only has a Hau? I'd think a whole variety of Kanohi would be more useful.
159.) Is there an upper limit to how many Kanohi a Toa can have, or does it depend on the Suva?
1610.) Can any more Rahi get into Metru Nui since it was blocked off from the environs? Can they fly/swim in?
1711.) You've said other environs are inhabited, can you tell us if some have civilizations of some sort?
1812.) Will environs play a part in future story at all? (I just think they are cool. I love Matoran and everything, but I think a new group of.... whatever, would rock.)
1913.) Are your cats lazy? Mine hasn't moved for 6 hours. Not kidding. I hope it's breathing...
20Thanks a lot

211) Yes
222) Sure. To honor Turaga that have gone before.
233) Yes, it would have affected whatever mask he was wearing
244) Not to my knowledge. Also, keep in mind that you did not necessarily see EVERY Matoran who lived in Mata Nui.
255) I can't answer that
266) There has been no reason to, because his past has nothing to do with this story.
277) Who knows? Where does it say they are aware he is sleeping?
288) Yes, there is a story reason.
299) I am not aware of any limit.
3010) They would need to break down one of the gates, which I am sure some would be capable of doing.
3111) No, I can't discuss that.
3212) Can't say, I only know the story through '05.
3313) All cats are lazy, except for the ones who are manic.

1my set of Q & As...
2A phew questions for ya...
31:How do the power levels in Kanoka work? Is it like the power number is how powerful the disk is or could it be like somthing that keeps track of how many times you can use the disk?
41) It relates to how powerful the disk is, has nothing to do with how often it is used.
52:Why are the lightstones on Metru-nui diffrent looking then the ones on Mata-nui? In the MNOLG1 & 2 they were yellow and skiny, and on the disks that came with the Toa Metru, it shows them being blue and kinda oval shaped...Is there any resean that there so diffrent?
62) Yup. Lightstones on Metru Nui are refined, the ones on Mata Nui are raw.
73:In LOMN, there are some air ships shown, how many diffrent tipes of air ships are there shown in the movie?
83) I think only one type.
94:The bohrak growled, the rahkishi/kraata hissed, what sound do the vahki have? And is it shown in the movie?
104) It's sound of a high-pitched mechanical sound.

11):)Thanks for your time...

1Hello: I have few questions here:
21)Will Morbuzakh star in the b2 movie?
32)Did You already see lhikan prototype?
42a) If yes, now You can tell me is his mask is new styled?
53)At the end of mask of light movie, we can see takanuva standing in some place and sending a beam to mata nui. Where was he?
64) In mask of light: When they wake up mata nui, was he in the body or spirit form?
7Thanks in advance:::

81) No. It only has a one scene cameo.
92) No, I haven't seen anything at all on the Lhikan set.
103) I would have to go back and watch the movie, I don't remember the scene.
114) Mata Nui was not awakened in Mask of Light. I know it was stated in the director's commentary that he was, but they were wrong. Mata Nui is still asleep, which is why the Matoran have to return to Metru Nui to repopulate it as the next step toward waking bim up.

12This should be interesting ;)
#1616
1Toa of protodermis, that wasn't Mata nui Takanuva was sending the beam to. It was Metru nui.
#1617
1really? i must look at this movie once more... but if it was Metru nui it is weird too Cause they are next to metru nui int this scene not above it... Pretty Strange thing...
#1618
1hey all, i have more greg info: step right up, only 50 cents: :P
21. is there a storyline reason for the metruan masks being silver at the top?
31) Yes. Because Matoran masks have the same shapes as Great Masks and Noble Masks, they need some feature that separates them so everyone knows they have no power.
42. are the "famous" mata-nui matoran on metru-nui? (i.e. hewkii, jaller)
52) Yes, every Matoran on Mata Nui lived on Metru Nui.
63. i know that matoran and vahki can use disks from other metru, but do they generally stick to the ones made in their metru?
73) They don't have to, except in akilini tournaments.
84. is there stuff before metru-nui?
94) Such as?
105. in the "bionicle 2" trailer, we see lhiikan with 2 broad swords/shields, are these the tools that he will have in the set?
115) I have not seen even a prototype of the set, so I can't say.
126. in the vorzahk movie, it shows him forming a disk in his mouth, and then firing. you've said that this is like the toa having multiple masks, but only showing one; and that the vahki can "store" kanoka. 13could vakama do the same thing with his disk launcher? (i.e. have 5 disks "stored", and launch one, and then the next...)
146) So far, I have always depicted him as having to carry disks, because he does run out in stories.
157. about how many matoran do you think are on metru-nui? mata-nui?
167) I would say hundreds on Metru Nui, possibly less on Mata Nui.

17i PM'ed him for clarification on question #4, and here's what i got:
18hey there, i just needed some clarification on a question that i asked earlier. and to ask another question that came to my mind:
19i asked you: 20QUOTE 214. is there stuff before metru-nui?

22and you replied: 23QUOTE 244) Such as?

25well, such as: different matoran-inhabited islands, more turaga, more toa, stuff like that. :D
261) Well, we know that there are other islands that exist in the same time period as Metru Nui, and we know that there were Toa before the Toa Metru, because Lhikan was one. Whether these things existed BEFORE Metru Nui, I have no info with which to form an answer.
27also, i was wondering:
282. what are the bionicle measurements of... 29how long metru-nui is, 30how wide metru-nui is, 31how tall a toa is, 32how tall a matoran is, 33how many bio are in a kio.
342) I don't have exact numbers handy, but I believe Metru Nui is around a quarter of the size of Mata Nui. A Toa is 1.6 bio tall, a Matoran is probably a third of that, a half of it at most, and we have never listed how many bio are in a kio.

35there you go: stay tuned for more Q&A for the great GregF: (coming up next are the incredible bearded man, the world's tallest midget, and the man eating chicken:)<< little rascals reference.

Toa of Protodermis
1really? i must look at this movie once more... but if it was Metru nui it is weird too Cause they are next to metru nui int this scene not above it... Pretty Strange thing...

2They weren't standing next to it. It was a balcony at Makuta's lair they were at and Metru nui was out in front of them. However you think it looks like Mata nui because the coliseum and buildinds seem destroyed which gives us a clue to what happened back there.
#1620
1oohhh my... oh my: OHHH MY GOSH::: The all matoran... they are dead? It cant be::: Oh my god... i must watch that scene again... it seems to be immpossible:::: A balcony in makutas lair? eee... Weird i should say... so how they supposed to move to metru nui? on Gukko birds? i dont see any more options cause they were on balcony... how to put gukko on balcony? eee too many questions :P
#1621
Toa of Protodermis
1oohhh my... oh my: OHHH MY GOSH::: The all matoran... they are dead? It cant be::: Oh my god... i must watch that scene again... it seems to be immpossible:::: A balcony in makutas lair? eee... Weird i should say... so how they supposed to move to metru nui? on Gukko birds? i dont see any more options cause they were on balcony... how to put gukko on balcony? eee too many questions :P

2Toa of Protodermis, that's been known for quite a while. I'm trying to think if there'sa good topic I can direct you to... Hmmm.... Well, see, Makuta's lair is very deep, see? And, the tunnel from Kini Nui to it travels down, and alongside the dome, till it's on the side of the dome, on the same level as Metru Nui. Through the door in Makuta's lair (the one Takutanuva opened, remember?) is the balcony thing, and that's opening into the big Metru Nui Dome. Then Takanuva sends the beam of light to Metru Nui, in the center of the Dome. THey're not above it because they traveled down that long tunnel to get to Makuta's lair.

3Oh, that's right. Check out QB's topic "Mangaia" in the Recommended Topics link in my sig. His two picture versions of it show how it works, although most of the details of where things are placed are only a theory. I also made a small colored diagram, which is posted later in that topic. That should explain it to you well.

4And, the Matoran are not dead. We aren't totally sure what happened to the ones that stayed behind, but apparently Makuta cast them into some sort of sleep. (Greg accidentally leaked that info, and isn't discussing it now, so don't bother asking him about it.)
#1622
1here are a few:
2here are few questions for you.

31. do jaller and lhikan have any relationship?

42. could you plz explain to me what is the differance between a great spirit and a great being?
53. is ultimate dume the fifth enemy? or is it someone else?
64. can you give me any idea what makuta is doing this whole time? (just a hint would be fine)
75. when does makuta put mata nui to sleep? before orafter the matoran and co. leave metru nui?
8thx greg.

91) Yes, we know there is some link between the two of them, and what it is will be explained in the movie.
102) Well, according to the legend, the Great Being sent Mata Nui down .. so it would seem that Great Beings are more powerful than a Great Spirit.
113) I can't discuss fifth enemy, you will have to watch the movie.
124) Nope.
135) Before.
14Greg

#1623
1oohhh yeah i have watched Mask Of Light again, and<the one guy who is commenting all the time> has voice of Turaga Vakama. he's talking something about "light has revelated my home island" and then is the scene with sending beam. So if Metru nui is home island of Vakama, then Vakama is<this guy who is commenting film> and he's telling at the end of the movie about Metru nui.
2And Bonesii don't worry i didn't even think about PM'ing Greg :P
#1624
1MY quetsions and Answeres.
21. in this topic, i said that a matoran could make himself look like a toa. What do you think on this?
31) No, I do not believe that is possible. It would require a way more extensive rebuilding than Matoran systems are capable of supporting. Remember, when they go from 2001 Matoran to 2003 Matoran, all they are doing is going back to the size they were supposed to be in the first place.
4Rats.
52. can you give a complete (missing out on some if they reveal plot) cast list?
62) I don't have any cast list, complete or otherwise.
7Awww...
83. Could a -very- strong Matoran use a great mask?
93) No. Has nothing to do with physical strength, has to do with having mental skills, willpower and discipline which a Matoran's mind is not capable of (at least not to the levels needed).
10Interesting.
#1625
1ToP, correct, Vakama is the narrator of the MOL. And at the end, he's the one saying "my island home" about Metru Nui. You got it. ;)

  • 2Just to check, Krahka are made out of protodermis like everything else, right?
    31) Krahka is a Rahi, but yes, everything, organic and inorganic, in BIONICLE is made of protodermis.
  • 4Toa of Protodermis: Will Morbuzakh star in the b2 movie?
5GregF: No. It only has a one scene cameo.

6Oh, so the movie's not going to completely ignore the existence of the Morbuzahk? That changes things; I had thought it was going to just completely leave that story out. I mean, I know it'll leave out the story, but you're saying this cameo will basically acknowledge that the Morby was around?
  • 7Would this cameo happen to be one of the times when a vine interfered with the finding of a Great disk, as was shown in, I think it was Vakama's, in the comics? (I'm assuming you can't answer it....)
    82) Yes, but it is only one scene, during the Great Disk section at the beginning.
  • 9Back to the MOL again, I just made the connection that Vorahk is called the Rahkshi of hunger, and he sucks out energy. This seems like a vote in favor of the Matoran/Toa/Turaga absorb energy to eat theory. (Just a comment, this'n.)
  • 10You were recently talking to bjj6 about how the transformation from the Matoran masks of Vakama, etc. went to Great. Well, what I was thinking is, what if those Matoran had been wearing Noble shaped Matoran Huna, etc. Would the masks have turned into Great Huna, etc. with the shape of a Noble? I don't see how they change shape.
11So, this would be why it's important for the Matoran versions of them to have Great-style Matoran Huna, etc.? Because otherwise, there would be masks with the wrong shape. And that would cause lotsa confusion. (especially if a Turaga picked them up, thinking he had found a Noble, when he needed it, and well.... ;))

    123) Actually, they would have changed shape to a Great Huna, as is graphically demonstrated in the movie.
  • 13Bohrok-Kal: is there a storyline reason for the metruan masks being silver at the top?
14GregF:Yes. Because Matoran masks have the same shapes as Great Masks and Noble Masks, they need some feature that separates them so everyone knows they have no power.

15Interesting. So, on Mata Nui, how did they know? This is another thing I wondered in the MOL, that I forgot to say. When the Avhokii was revealed, Takua (or Jaller, don't remember which), said "A Great Kanohi Mask:" How did he know it was a Great one?
    164) Simple. No masks were being made on Mata Nui. The only masks they had were the Great Masks that had been hidden, the Noble Masks that Makuta had spirited away, and the Matoran masks. So it was reasonable to assume any mask you found was not a Matoran mask.
  • 17On the question I asked recently about the Turaga expressing concern that Makuta would find energized proto, so, you don't remember that in any official source? I wish I could remember my source; it was in some topic a while ago. Probably just a rumor.
    185) No, I don't recall the Turaga ever saying that.
  • 19Well, how long did he have that energized proto? It seems it couldn't have been long, or all those thousands of Kraata he made over the years could have been used to make Rahkshi.
    206) They were -- look at all the Rahkshi running around Metru Nui. Just because the Matoran weren't getting hit by waves of them doesn't mean they weren't around -- remember, Makuta was reluctant to unleash the Rahkshi on the Matoran.
  • 21A while ago I asked you if Makuta could infect people directly, without using Kraata, you said you'd have to check. Did you find out about that?
    227) No, I haven't. But I tend to doubt he does that .. if he is close enough to you to infect your mask, he is close enough to destroy you, so why bother infecting you?
  • 23I beleive you have said that Vahki teleport Kanoka into their mouths from a stockpile in their hives. Well, I was wondering, when those disks either get lost (somewhere too difficult to retreive) or run out of power, how does that supply get refilled? Do Matoran come along every once in a while and put new Kanoka in? Or do Vahki personally go to the Kanoka stores and "buy" them themselves? *imagines a Vahki tearing chaotically through K-Mart ;)*
    248) Matoran would take care of any disk needs the Vahki had.
  • 25Just to confirm, Makuta and Mata Nui would be considered "Great Sprits" now? I mean, they both would? Or would Makuta be even lower? Because you've said Mata Nui is more powerful; but it could be a cae of a more powerful Great Spirit, from what I know.
    269) Makuta has referred to himself as the "spirit of destruction," but I am not aware of anyplace official where it says he is a Great Spirit. Mata Nui has always been referred to as a Great Spirit. I personally do not regard Makuta as being at the same power level as Mata Nui.
    27Greg
28Methinks that's enough for now... Thanks in advance:

29Number six is the most interesting to me; I had no idea there could have been Rahkshi walking around on Mata Nui. In fact, I think I'll bug him one more time on that, just to check...
#1626
1Interesting. So Makuta could be just a guy with dark powers, a mask of shadows, and a "How to Cast a Spell over a Great Spirit" book. Well, kinda like that. What I mean is that he might not be a great spirit, maybe he's something else... O.o

1Does a Hau block only physical attacks, or can it block energy attacks as well?
2Does it block all energy attacks or only some energy attacks?
3Such as laser, heat ray, plasma blast, magnetic blast, energy net (whatever Nidhiki blasted Lhikan with), Vahki staff blasts, psionic energy, magic energy, etc.
4Obviously you can't list every type of energy that it can and can't block, but a list of things that have been used (or even a partial one) might give us something to work with.
5For example: Could Lhikan have used the Hau to block Nidhiki's energy blast, if he had time to activate it?
6Second question: If a Hau Nuva is used to sheild others, does each person shielded have an individual shield, or is it one big shield for the group?
7I guess I could ask similar questions for each Nuva Kanohi, but maybe you could give a general description of how the power sharing works, like Telekinesis (is it controllable by each individual) Illusion, Mind Control, etc.
8Third Question: If three Nuva masks are sharing their powers with a group, does each person benefit from each mask power; is it one person, one power; or is it multiple masks, one effect for the group.
9:d::e:n:n.gif:a::r::r:

10Last question first -- everybody benefits from all the powers. That is why all six Toa Nuva could use the flight/speed powers to get out of the Bahrag chamber.
11The Hau blocks physical, elemental and energy attacks, provided the wearer knows they are coming. It does not protect against surprise attacks, according to the original definition. I do not believe it would protect against psionic attacks, brain blasts, that sort of thing, nor did it protect Tahu from the increased gravity caused by the Bohrok-Kal. It would protect against Vahki attacks because although they have mental effects, they are not truly psionic, mind-to-mind attacks, they are energy attacks.

1Second question: If a Hau Nuva is used to sheild others, does each person shielded have an individual shield, or is it one big shield for the group?

2I believe this question has been answered three times during the storyline: In comic 8, Tahu's Hau Nuva forms a kind of dome around the Toa Nuva, protecting them all. And in Mask of Light, Tahu's shield surrounds him and Takua. Also, when Panrahk, Lerahk and Guurahk form one beam and fire at the Toa, Tahu's shield surrounds them all in a bubble/dome of energy (non of the other's have Hau Nuva's active at the time). Hope that helped:

2the masks of telekinesis, mind control, invisibility, illusion, translation, and night vision could never share powers. because it has been confirmed by gregf that in great mask form, they were like the toa olda masks, no sharing. and when they turned into noble masks, they couldn't be shared either.
3bottom line, the turaga masks can't share powers.

1More goodness...

21. Can you tell us waht is Karzahni?
31) Read Book 6 and find out.
4oooooo....
52. Book 6 is abou the Toa Nuva right?
62) No, it's not.
7Cleared that up
83. Will we see the Akaku and/or Miru in B2?
93) The only masks in B2 are the ones worn by Dume and the Toa Metru.
10No Akaku??? *Sniff*
114. Can you tell us what is Dume's test for the Toa Metru?
124) No
13Didn't think he would...
145. If you had the choce would Dume be good or bad, and why?
155) I am not even going to go there. Watch the movie.

5But if the Toa Metru's masks were to become Nuva (hypothetically) then they would, wouldnt they? Anyway, I believe the Great Ruru (Whenua's mask) can create light for others to see. In a way, thats could be considered 'sharing' that masks power

1I believe the Great Ruru (Whenua's mask) can create light for others to see. In a way, thats could be considered 'sharing' that masks power
2Ruru does not make light, it is not a mask of light. it is mask of X-ray vision. read the review of the toa metru on bionicle.com and you'll see.

1QUOTE 2Hope you're allowed to answer these

3Has anyone noticed that Lhikan is missing?
4Has anyone tried to find him?
5Do matoran believe in any sort of afterlife?
6Does Krekka sound like Mugsy the gangster from Bugs bunny cartoons?
7Is Dume the fifth enemy? thanks:

81-2) Yes, definitely. And the Toa Metru go looking for him in the movie.
93) We really don't get into that sort of thing, because once you start discussing religion in the context of this sort of thing people get offended quick.
104) Geez, I hope he doesn't sound that bad.
115) I am not allowed to discuss fifth enemy, that is movie plot.

1A few things I have been wondering for a while now.
21. Since they were Matoran masks transformed by the energies of the Toa Stones/Suva, would you say that the Toa Metru Kanohi are still pre-colored, or would they turn proto colored when removed?
3-- All masks turn proto colored when removed. The only exception I know of to that is the Vahi.
42. If some sort of geological disaster destroyed most of the Bohrok nests, is there a way that whatever made them could make more?
5-- Possibly
63. Did the island of Mata Nui ever host any Rahkshi besides the ones featured in Mask of Light?
7-- The island itself? Not to my knowledge, no.
84. We know that the Matoran see a reason, but is there any actual physical advantage to having Mata Nui awake? What exactly does he do?
9-- Hmmmm ... let me see if I can find a good analogy. Hmmmm. Let's say you are in a car ... and the driver falls asleep .. wouldn't it be in your best interests to wake him up? The Matoran see Mata Nui as the driver of their destiny, the one who guides them and protects them from darkness. Most of the really ###### things that have happened to them have happened since he went to sleep.
105. Makuta calls the Rahi Nui his own, but do we know who/what made it?
11-- Made it? No, not yet. But there are some interesting tidbits about it in Book 6 this year. And as you will get a hint of in Book 5, Makuta is really big on recruiting ...
126. In Mystery of Metru Nui, you write about a cable that pumps energized proto into the Le-Metru chutes. Is this how the liquid proto becomes magnetized?
13-- Yes, it does say that, but by "energized" it actually meant magnetized .. not energized as in the kind that turns Toa into Nuva.
147. Along the same lines, how is all of the machinery (furnace, mines, chutes, etc.) in Metru Nui powered? We know some things use Kanoka, but do they all?
15-- The Coliseum has a power plant -- it's basically like hydro power, except it's liquid protodermis that makes everything go.
168. In Mystery of Metru Nui, we read Matoran would go with Vahki escorts into Sector 3, and only the Vahki would return. Since no Matoran can understand Vahki, no one knew what had happened. Does this mean that Dume, with his "translator", knows why the Matoran are disappearing?
17-- If the Vahki told him, he probably would have a hint. Of course, you know those Turaga, they never want to start a panic ...
189. In Trial by Fire, the Ga-Matoran fishing skiff was reduced to sawdust. Is this just figurative, or do they actually have access to wood/lumber?
19-- Protodermis takes all sorts of different forms .. metal, rock, muscle tissue, and a woodlike substance are just some of them.
2010. Will we ever learn how Dark Hunters come to be, where they're from, and how they get their power? Or is this something the story team wants to keep a mystery?
21-- I hope that you will, because I think they are cool. If it doesn't get told in a major story, then I will tell it in one of the books.
2211. Sorry, but this being/spirit thing bothers me. You said Great Beings were greater than Spirits because they sent Mata Nui to...well, Mata Nui. I seem to remember that, too. But why? First, I thought this was just another Turaga legend and thus not to be taken too seriously. Back when I actually thought it was true, I assumed Mata Nui was sent in the same sense that we send delegates from committees to investigate charges. That is, not because they're better, but because someone had to go. Am I making any sense here?
23-- If you are asking "why" the Great Beings sent Mata Nui down to this particular world, I cannot answer that.
2412. You said that one reason you don't read fan fiction is because you don't want to subconsciously use someone's idea as your own. How do you keep this from happening with comic books you've read, movies you've seen, etc.? Just curious.
25-- I do my best not to, but there is a big difference between taking a plot idea from something and doing a BIONICLE version of it .. for example, doing a BIONICLE version of Macbeth, say (I know, bad example) .. and using a plot idea somebody CREATED for BIONICLE. Movies and comics borrow from each other and the classics all the time, but you will not find a Batman comic that steals a plot from someone's Batman fan fiction. That's asking for a lawsuit. The other reason I don't read fan fic is that I don't want to be in the position of having people ask me "Did you like my story?" all the time. Because if I don't think it's written well and I say so, I am going to hurt someone's feelings, and that is not what I am here for.
26Thanks for your time:::
27Need to send confirmation on 11, not exactly what I meant. Seven is most interesting. And on one I assume he meant powered masks.

1QUOTE 2Hi, Greg, I was hoping you could answer these questions for me.

31. For Dume to climb in Nivawk, in the movie, does Nivawk's chest actually open? Or is there a matoran-made pouch or harness put on Nivawk?
42. Was Lhikan's tool made for him to be able to go on water or did he just find out that it could float or something? Because it would seem odd that a toa of fire would have a tool or tools that would allow him to go on water?
53. Would he actually go on water, or would he have some mode of flying like Vakama has his jetpack?
64. Do you know if the krekka and Nidhiki sets can go into their flight modes that are in the movie?

7Thanks Greg:
81) He doesn't ride Nivawk in the movie.
92) It isn't for water.
103) Lhikan's tool functions sort of like the Silver Surfer's board

13So Dume never rides Nivawk, it seems that Rahi has a different role from a steed (a spy perhaps?). And Lhikan's tool is like the Silver Surfer's... a Tahu Nuva-like set of blades that let him fly? Weird...
