1Hi, I hope you don't mind of you answer a few questions. So here I go
21) Can Rahi use Great or Noble Masks if a Rahi happened to be weraing one?
32) Has anyone been able to tame a Manas by just removing it's mask?
43)Are there more Dark Hunters out there or are there just Nidhiki and Krekka?
5The next few questions concern the 2005 sets not the 2005 story
64)Are the Hordika masks like the Kanohi Nuva in terms of design or are they completely different?
75)Can you give me an idea of how big the Visorak set is going to be in comparison with other Bionicle sets.
8I would like to thank you in advance for answering my questions. Anyway nice avatar.

91) No
102) No, Manas are really fierce and nasty and really can't be tamed.
113) I believe there most likely are more
124) I am not sure you can really say the Hordika have masks ...
135) No, I don't have the set
14Greg

153)Cool, wonder what they are like...
164)I really do hope they have masks.

17SPOILERS:

18Hmmm... the plot thickens. :sly: Meethinks that perhaps the Kanohi Metru merge upon the Toa Metru/Hordika's face. Or, maybe they lose the Kanohi altogether: AGH: That'd be horrible to have a year without characters with masks: :( Hmm... But, the first explanation could be the right one. I dunno...

13Hmm, 14that are interssting answers and questions. 15I really like the info about the great things mask and thing like that that the Rahi can't use it.also I like the thingy about the Manas, nasty and cannot be tamed. 16That is soo cool. 2I want to check on something....
3In this topic: Disc Of Time Theory, Murare Metru has the theory that after the Vahi was made, it reverted back into the disk of time we see as the promotion disk. I pointed out that you have said that in the mask making process, power is leached out, so that the mask is less powerful (and that's why disk power levels 1-6 become powerless). So I would think a mask melted down and made back into a disk would be much weaker.
4But Athane posted this quote:
51. Can a disc be made into mask, then back into a disc of the same power level?
61) Yes. Just melt the mask down

7So I just want to confirm, did you mean the power level is "unleached" back up to its original Kanoka level when a mask is melted down and made into a disk?

8If you melted a Matoran mask down, then yes, you would be correct. I assumed the question related to Noble Masks or Great Masks, which retain their power.
9Greg

10Still not quite clear on what he meant... PMing for clarification.

1o_O;;
2Methinks we need a "Guide to Kanoka and Mask making" more than a "Guide to Metru Nui"

9If you melted a Matoran mask down, then yes, you would be correct. I assumed the question related to Noble Masks or Great Masks, which retain their power.
10Greg

111. So... (not sure I understood that) if a level 1-6 Kanoka were made into a mask, then melted back down and made back into a Kanoka, that Kanoka would be powerless, but if a level 7-9 Kanoka were made into a mask, melted down and back into a Kanoka, that Kanoka would still have power?
121) Yes
132. Would they be power level 7-9 still? Or would they be weakened down to... 1-3?
142) Same power level
153. Now, you've now said that the disk of time is what the Vahi was made from, well, I have a theory that the reason there's an image of a Vahi on it is that that represents how Vakama "started to shape the mask" from the combo of just three of the Great disks, then merged in the final three, ending up with a disk with a slight "image" or what would probably be a slight carving of the Vahi's shape on the disk. And this "image" would be like an outline so he could more easily carve the final shape, and bend it into the right mask shape (partly based on some other members ideas from that topic I linked to earlier). Any idea if I'm on the right track? Or if it's purely promotional?
163) Far as I know, the icon and code on the mask were added by us to identify the disk (because otherwise it would just be a plain orange disk).
174. How would the disk of time work if it were fired? What would it do to the target? Slow it down? Speed up? Or either, depending on the user's choice? Or just destroy existence? :P
184) Same thing the mask does. You would have to decide as you launched it whether you were looking to slow down time or speed up time around your target. Unlike most disks, its power would be tied to your will, the way a mask's power is, so it would only work as long as you could make it work. It's kind of academic, though, since it is never used as a disk, simply made into a mask.
19Greg

2SPIELERS:

3SPLOYLRES:

4LAST SPOILER WARNING:
5Okay I have a few questions, you probably get this alot, but I'll be quick:
6Is it possible that matoran came to Metru-Nui in its early days from environs, and that some matoran still live in environs?

7Do you have any idea why the Dume set doesn't have his staff, since he clearly seems to have one in the movie.

8Will we find out why Lhikan came from another island anytime soon?

9Will we see more of Turaga Dume soon? He seems to be an awesome character:

10Since Mata-Nui is only a Great Spirit, could there be villians of greater power than Mata-Nui in between Great Spirits and Great Beings that may be responisble for Mata-Nui's sickness?

11Does the extremity of mutation vary by the amount of visorak venom injected into a being?

12With Great Disks, even though it never happened, if a matoran got really lucky could they have made more Great Disks?

13Thanks for any answers you can give, I really appreciate it:):)
14:m: :s:

151) To my knowledge, no. Everything I have been told is that while there may well be inhabitants of environs, they are not what we consider Matoran.
16I am dissapointed, yet intrigued...
172) Staff really plays no role in the movie, other than as a walking stick. I don't recall exactly what it looks like, but if it would have required a new mold that might have had something to do with it.
183) Depends on if we ever tell a story that flashes further back into the past.
19That's cool, though I have doubts that they'll go further back...
204) Dume will return to the story eventually
21Yeay: :D
225) Anything is possible, but my best info is that Makuta is responsible for Mata Nui's state
23Hmm, "Anything is possible,"? I am even more intrugued...
246) Has more to do with time, actually. The longer the venom is in you, the more you change
257) No. The Matoran didn't make the first six to begin with. That is beyond their skill and beyond the skill of those who purify the protodermis
26Really? If the matoran didn't make them, then who did? I am very intrigued right now...

28Comments in red, as you can tell I am intrigued by his answers :P...

1Somewhat related, what force determines whether the Metru needs more Matoran?
2Do Matoran remember how they were created?
3Are many of the "prophcies" Vakama speaks of as a Turaga actually his visions?
4Is the more erratic flight pattern of the Rhotuka (in contrast to the Kanoka) possibly symbolistic of the feral and uncontrolled nature of both the once-perfectly-orderly city and of the Hordika?
5What kind of protodermis holds the Bahrag/Makuta? Is it the same metallic protodermis that Kanohi and Kanoka are made of, only infused with Toa power?
6Could you explain the nature of energy in BIONICLE? We know the Toa have energy, the power plant makes it, and the Dark Hunters use it, but it all seems to be very vague.
7You said that the Vahi is the only Kanohi that might be colored. You also said that Metru Matoran masks are silver-topped to differentiate from Toa masks so that, if needed, a Toa would not grab the wrong mask. This implies that Matoran masks are colored, too. Could you straighten this out?
8I know you don't always appreciate theories for obvious reasons, but I'd like you to look at this one to see what you think:
9The Metruan masks are silver topped for whatever reason, yet the Mata Nui Matoran's are not. We know that when Toa power is lost, masks become proto silver from the Kal saga, so this would lead one to believe that Toa power can color masks. Perhaps the Metru Matoran's life force was what gave the masks their partial color, but when the Vakama and co. sacrificed their Toa power to awaken them, this had a side affect on their Kanohi, coloring them to the full.

10One last thing-- Has LEGO ever looked into employing or having as volunteers a small council of people of the BIONICLE target age group to get more in-depth input than the Proto Squad could? Perhaps they could use members closer to the age group on the story team to get a better feel of the kind of story or sets that would be popular, profitable, or appropriate.
11Thanks, and excellent job on BA#5:

122) Can't answer it 133) Practicality. If a project is being worked on that requires more Matoran, then more Matoran come into being. 144) Since I cannot discuss how Matoran come into being, I really have no comment. 155) Yes 166) I am not sure where you get that it has a more erratic flight pattern. It hasn't shown up in the fiction anyplace yet 177) It is solid protodermis formed by the combining of the six elements. In the case of Makuta, it is sealed with a Toa seal as well 188) It's vague for a reason. It is a difficult topic to discuss without giving away future storyline 199) The silver top is evident even when the mask is not being worn. Masks are not colored by mask makers, in general, the adding of the silver is a special process. In a sense, the silver portions of the mask resist being colored when worn. 2010) It is an interesting suggestion, but since the story team meets in Denmark, we would probably wind up with mostly European kids, who don't make up the bulk of the LEGO audience. As far as product goes, though, that is all market tested with kids in the age group both in the US and overseas before designs are finalized. That isn't done in a vacuum -- we already have kid input before we go ahead with product.

21I'll try to word things better---
22For something to have a purpose or a destiny, some being has to determine it, right? Is this the case in BIONICLE in that either Mata Nui or some higher power determines your fate and you choose whether to fulfill it or not?
23And is there any possibility that the waking up with Toa power had anything to do with the unsilvering of the masks? (By the way, thanks for your previous answer to this one, it helped things a lot:)
24Lastly, when I mentioned kid (story) input, I was thinking more along the lines of a correspndence type setting with small group, so they wouldn't neccessarily have to live in a set area. You tell them in a limited way where the story is going and see what they think, or ask them what the coolest thing to happen to a Toa could be.
25Ever thankful--
26Zokara

27Again, it's an interesting idea, but it is hard to bring in others on the story without letting them in on things that (even if they kept it to themselves, as they would be legally required to) would ruin their enjoyment of BIONICLE for a while to come. There are a lot of big secrets about the storyline that are fundamental to it that no one outside of LEGO knows, but which you HAVE to know to work on the story team.
28I think your first question is an interesting one, because it really hearkens back to philosophy. I don't know what the head of the story team would say, but I personally see it as a combination of free will and predestination. For example, if Vakama gets into a chute headed for the Archives, and stays in it, he will end up in the Archives. If he chooses to jump out somewhere along the way, he will wind up somewhere else. By the same token, if Vakama is on a life path, it will take him to a certain place. If he chooses not to follow that path, then he is going somewhere else.
29For example -- becoming a Turaga. Any Toa has the ability to become a Turaga, if he has fulfilled his destiny as a Toa. But he also has to make a conscious choice to become one, so is he destined to be one or not? It's one of those great BIONICLE endless debate things.

30So there ya go. Energy plays a role in the future; I was hoping it wasn't just a story fill.

1SPOILERS:::

2Liked your little cameo in the B2 extras  Just wondering on some of the things happening in that
31. Did you find it odd that all the questions answered from the UK came from people with names beginning with J?
41) I have not seen the extra feature, so can't comment.
5They were. My name is Jake, and I posted a question, so it was very strange
62. Someone says that Vahki are biomechanical. This is incorrect, right?
72) Yes, it is incorrect. Vahki are machines built by Matoran.
8Just checked, it was Bob Thompson, head of the story team
93. What Bionicle character would you like to be?
103) Hmmmm ... probably Kopaka. I like people who can handle problems on their own.
11Personally, I'd be either Kopaka, Nuju or Lhikan, or maybe a Kaita of all three
124. That is Kongu being threatened in that Chute Station?
134) Yes
14Thought so, just wanted Greg confirmation
155. How could a single touch activate the Coliseum floor?
165) It's a machine. They are touching the controls.
17In the film, a single Matoran presses a part of the floor on a scale model of the Coliseum. There were other Matoran around it though
186. How could the Great Disks just merge like that?
196) Cause they can. Not sure how else to explain it.
20Trust me, it was very strange
217. When Matau opened those wings in Ko-Metru, were they just his Aero Slicers?
227) Yes
23I thought so. I was sure Matau didnt get his mask power till Po-Metru
248. Why was Makuta talking to himself in Dume's private chambers?
258) Who else could he talk to? No one else knew his plan, so who else could he discuss it with? Besides, all great villains are egomaniacs who talk to themselves
26Why are all major enemies egomaniacs. Show me one pessimistic/realistic villian. How stupid is a placing your arch nemesis in a pit of mutated, irrtated seabass and not even watching them die so they can escape safely. Yes, I watch too much Austin Powers
279. Is the Morbuzakh's cameo that single scene where Vakama has his Great Disk in his mouth and is hanging upside down?
289) Yes
29It was red and glowing. Very strange
3010. Where did Lhikan's Greatswords go when he helped Vakama escape?
3110) Offhand, don't know
32I begin to wonder. Couldnt Vakama have used them instead of a Kanoka launcher?
3311. Is Bob Thompson always so happy?
3411) He is generally a pretty upbeat guy the times I have met him.
35He seemed really cheerful
3612. How did Lhikan know what mask powers the Toa Metru's masks had?
3712) He may well have seen them used before he came to Metru Nui.
38Just what has this guy been up to?
3913. Just how big is the Dweller of the Deep?
4013) Pretty darn big.
41It is. It really is
4214. Whenua put up a decent fight against Onewa's mind control, but Krekka practically welcomed it. Is it because he's so stupid?
4314) Yeah, the slower you are, the easier you are to control.
44He is just so slow: Its gobsmacking:

45If you dont want to answer 2005 questions yet, you can ignore this part
4615. Do the Hordika even have masks, or just heads, or is it a mix?
4716. Why do the Hordika seem to have two different arms?
4817. Are their really different sizes of Visorak, or was that just a prototype that made it to colour?
4918. Whos the big orange guy?
50Never sent so many questions at once. Phew. Thanks in advance for whatever you can answer :D
51Not going to answer '05 questions yet, sorry.
52Oh poo

3612) No idea
3713) Don't know, we have never seen it happen. We do know they have extremely long lifespans. "Old age" to a Matoran might be 100,000 years. 38wow:
3914) The Toa Olda were more experienced as Toa. The Toa Metru were suddenly made Toa with no one to train them. 40who trianed them?
4115) Makuta Dume wanted it
4216) They had no idea how. They also didn't remember what they looked like when they lived on Metru Nui, or even that they had lived on Metru Nui.

1Oh boy,a Question:
2I just saw the new Hordika pic today the one of Nuju, and I would think that the Visorak venom would only afect the Toa themselfs not the tools too... (though I'm glad they come with new tools)
3Thank you for your time please get back soon:

4After so long, the tools very much become an extension of the Toa, since they have channeled their elemental power so long. Venom warps protodermis, and tools are made of protodermis just like Toa are.
5Greg

6Nice too know....
#2260
1So the venom has caused the Toa Hordika's asks to fuse to their faces, eh? Interesting... I usually consider a Matoran/Toa/Turaga's Kanohi to be their actual face (since it is the outermost part, shows expression, and is on during "normal cirumstances"... being maskless is actually abnormal), and the "head" as more of a skull structure, so this wouldn't really be much of a change from my point of view, except for the fact that the Hordika can no longer swap Kanohi if they truly are fused to their heads. Not that they ever did so in 2004, but technically they could have, and Metru-Nui had plenty of Great/Noble Masks.

18Thank you, I can't wait for your books: Thanks in advance:

201) I really like 5 and 6 a lot. It usually takes some time after I am done with them before I warm up to them. I just finished 8.
212) Part of the mutation process -- they couldn't use them anyway, the Toa are tainted after the mutation
223) Ummm ... I think that is late Jan. in stores
234) Late March, I think
245) No, not yet
256) Six, plus an elite Visorak
267) Nope, but it will be revealed in the January BrickMaster issue
278) Can't answer it yet
289) Not to my knowledge
2911) They are in the spheres
3012) You'll have to wait and see
3113) Yes, all the villains next year are sets
3214) No, she is in the whole story and in the movie

1SPOILER WARNING:

2After watching Legends of Metru Nui, I asked Greg a few questions (for those who have know the plot for a while, these may or may not be of less interest.):
3Hi Greg, I watched the movie yesterday, and have a couple of questions:
41. In one scene, you see Makuta in his Dume form talking to a pair of red eyes. What I am wondering is: were those red eyes meant to represtent Makuta (although the Dume that was talking to the eyes was also Makuta)? In other words, was that scene meant to represent Makuta talking to himself, or were the eyes someone else?
52. In another scene, Vakama finds Dume in one of the stasis spheres, and says he would come back for him when the came to get the other Matoran. But why did they never manage to save him, surely a Turaga would be especially important to save (or is that 2005 plot?)?
63. Was the reason that Makuta wanted the Vahi because the Matoran would otherwise take a lifetime to wake up again, in Bionicle terms, thousands of years? ("Without the Mask of Time it will take a lifetime to find both our destinys:")
74. Also, what are spirit stars really? They can't be real stars, since none of the ones underground are. When will we find out about the Metru sky and Spirit Stars?
85. And a non-movie one: any news on the global release of your Bionicle Adventures Books? (Coming from fan who would greatly like a chance to read them, I asked you about it quite a while ago).
9Thanks for your time, these greatly puzzle me...
10Bohrokwill :silver:

111) He was talking to a mirror.
122) That is future storyline.
133) No, not exactly. There were two reasons. One, he had to wait for the disaster to subside, and more importantly, he had to wait for the memory loss to kick in or they would remember what happened to them. That was what was going to take so long.
144) We aren't ready to reveal the nature of the stars yet, but you will get something of a clue next year.
155) Yes, I asked Scholastic about it. My editor sent an email to the person who handles that and told me she would let me know what she heard. As soon as I hear anything, will let you know.
16Greg

17A few comments: good to know Dume's part in the story is not yet over... interesting to see what will become of the real Turaga Dume...
18As for the disaster, I supose that's the suns closing and the earthquake, I wonder if it was Makuta that really caused it?

1i got some interesting information here. my comments in orange.
2spoilers:::

31. how do the matorans got their masks in the first place? if there isn't an answer to that yet, will we learn in the future? 41) They get them when they first come into being 5hmmm...now all we got to do is to find out how they came to being:
62. will the rahi guide book include ALL the rahi we've seen yet? 72) The Rahi book is about half sets LEGO has created, and half Rahi contest winners. Rahi that do not exist as sets will probably only make it into an appendix. 8only half that lego created? oh well, that's also good. i hope we'll get a better pic of krahka.
93. which book are you working on at this moment? 103) Just finishing BIONICLE Adventures #8 11already finishing BA#8:? wow, greg sure write fast...real fast...
124. does turaga lhikan have a staff? 134) He has a sort of walking stick in the movie 14yay: :P
155. will there be any more makuta sets to some of his other forms? 165) Makuta won't be a big part of the storyline for a few years to come, so no idea what the future holds for him 17i sure do hope so...
186. what are the names of the visorak? if you can't answer that yet, when will you be able to tell us? 196) November 20november...that's less then 3 weeks: we'll know the visorak names soon, yay::
217. does the creator of the morbuzakh have anything to do with makuta? 227) You will have to read BA #6 and find out 23ok, i'll just wait here until BA#6 will be out...waiting...waiting...waitng...
248. you said that the earthquake that happened on metru-nui have something to do with mata-nui's asleep. is it because he fell hard on the ground when he fell asleep? or is it something more serious? 258) Can't answer it 26oh man...
279. i just want to confirm something: are the toa hordika actually the toa metru transformed by the visorak? 289) Yes 29ok, finnaly no more "no one has confirmed that the hordika are actually the toa metru".
3010. if yes to 9, does the toa metru have diffrent names when they "hordika-izied"? 3110) No 32yes: we won't get any more weird names:
3311. what did you meant when you said that each rahaga have their own personalities? 3411) I meant they are individual characters, like the Toa are. 35oh, that's what he meant
3612. when will the set that you said that may be the biggest one yet be realesed? 3712) August of next year 38that's a long time to wait...
3913. what happened to the vahki after they put the matorans into the silver spheres? 4013) That gets revealed in BIONICLE Adventures 7 41vahki mystery will be solved in web of the visorak: :D
4214. will we see more of them (the vahki)? 4314) Yes, they are around some in the first two books next year 44vahki will also be featured in challange of the hordika::: :P

8Hi Greg, sorry to bug you, but the following questions have been much on my mind recently: 91) How can you control if the disk of time speeds up or slows down time? 102) What flight characteristics does the DoT have? 113) Does a stasis Kraata have to keep eye contact to keep creatures in stasis? 124) What's the difference (in power) between a great and a noble Rau? 135) I have observed that the Makuta shows many powers that are also Kraata powers. Does he posess all Kraata powers? 146) Could a quick healing Kraata also remove poison if it got poisoned? 157) If you combined the Ta- and Ga-Metru great disks, could that mask also protect the wearer from ambush attacks?
16Thanx in advance, 17DR

181) Mentally 192) We haven't bothered to come up with flight characteristics for it, because it is never used as a disk in the story 203) No 214) Great Mask allows spoken languages to be understood. Noble Rau seems to only work on written languages, since we have never seen Turaga Nokama talk to an animal 225) Yes, he has that potential 236) No 247) No.
25Greg

26Question 5 is particularly interesting, because that makes Makuta much more powerful than we thought.

12) What flight characteristics does the DoT have?
22) We haven't bothered to come up with flight characteristics for it, because it is never used as a disk in the story

3Actually, it has a Ta-Metru Kanoka code. So if you hold by that, it's a Ta-Metru flight pattern.
4As for the disaster, I supose that's the suns closing and the earthquake, I wonder if it was Makuta that really caused it?

5I BELIEVE it was a result of Mata Nui being put to sleep.

7I'll have a new batch of Q&A's soon - he sent them, but they got lost due to a server error. And in the meantime, let me just say that I regard anyone who doesn't do the slight reformatting from QQQ-AAA to QAQAQA as very, very lazy. It's extremely annoying to scroll up and down over and over to match up the numbers. Please - take a minute out of your life to show some real decency. Thanks.

1Here is another contribution to the OGT...
2I just got my Metru Nui City Guide at my local Borders and I would like to say it was awesome (pity Voyage of Fear was out of stock by that time) but enough with the idol chatter and on with the questions:
31)Why exactly where the protodites placed in the sub-levels of the Archives, its not like the microscopic creatures posed any kind of threat?
42)Why were the Krana, when put on display, were placed in the sub-levels? Not like they had arms and legs and could fling themselves onto the faces of unsuspecting Archivists?
53)How many Toa Tools are there in the Toa Suva in the Great Temple and are there any more Toa Disks other than the six we know about.
64)Just out of curiosity, what is the disk combination to make a weight-increase disk?
7Would like to thank you for any answers you can answer in advance.

81) lol, how do you know? If you think of them as biomechanical, like everything else is in BIONICLE, then you have unleashed living nanotech -- who knows what mischief it might get up to?
92) True, but you are assuming the Archivists know what they are and aren't capable of.
103) Not sure, and no, not to my knowledge.
114) I only did formulas for masks that appear in the story, not all the other disks mentioned. Maybe I will get to that later.
12Greg

13Anyway, Bohrokwill, I got my Metru Nui guide (as seen in the quote, I tried to get Voyage of Fear while I was there but it was out of stock) in Singapore at the local Borders there. Just ask the nice lady at the info counter and she will get it for you if its there:

1Sorry I don't have more for you...
21:I herd that the toa, afer being ternd into the Hordika, can't use there masks? Do they have to relearn there new found mask powers?
3That venom must be extreme stuff...Does this meen they can't use there eliments anymore?(untill they find how to cure the veneom)
42: If the white Rahaga tawt Nuju that strange lingo, why didint the other Hordika learn it too?And what exactly is the lingo for anyway?
53: Have you had a good look at the Hordika? Like a clear pic of any of them?
64: And if you have, do they all have the same head? I'm really hopen they don't...
75: Will you be buying B2:LOMN?
8Thabk you for your time, hope you can anser my Q's

91) Has nothing to do with forgetting how to use them. Has to do with the fact that Toa Hordika are tainted and so cannot use mask powers.
10No, they do have access to elemental powers, just in a different way.
112) The other Hordika weren't hanging out with Kualus. Nuju was.
123) Not really, no. I did have sets in but I had to send them to DC.
134) Not sure what you mean by same head? The "masks" have essentially become their faces, and each face is different.
14Greg

15Not shure why he didint anser 5? But anyway, I'm glad to here the "faces" will be diffrent.

11. I think you said somewhere (can't find it at the moment) that the Visorak venom eventually made the Metru/Hordika weapons parts of their bodies. Are you saying that eventually, the Hordikas' weapons actually become their hands?
21) No, I never said that. Someone asked me why the tools mutated and I said because they are made of protodermis, and Visorak venom mutates protodermis. I never said they became part of the Toa's bodies.
3Oh.
42. Is the Visorak's only feature biting down on people? Because that indent looks just big enough for the "rotunda" disks (or whatever they're called).
52) Rhotuka launchers on their backs and done with a ripcord.
6Rhotuka, rotunda, GAHH:::
73. You said that since the Toa Metru were "tainted" by the Visorak venom, they couldn't use their mask powers. What would that have to do with anything? Is it like you can't operate an infected mask?
83) This is my take on it. As I have said before, mask use requires a great deal of willpower and mental discipline. A Hordika is half Rahi, and their bestial nature prevents them from having the focus needed to use mask powers.
9Ah...
104. Do the Hordika still retain their mask powers, or are they stuck with elemental powers?
114) No, they don't have their mask powers while Hordika.
12Darn...
135. How many villains can we expect this year, excluding the Visorak and female villain?
145) Depends if you want to count combomodels and if you are talking main story in the comic and movie, or the books as well.
15I might get back to him on that...
166. Since the Vahi was made from the Great Disks, which are basically just uber-powerful Kanoka disks, wouldn't it be possible to use to the same disk powers to create a weaker, more manageable Vahi?
176) No. The only way you can access the time power is with level 9 disks
18Darn. So close...
197. Between the "maskless" Dume and giving Jaller a new mask, do we finally see what a movie Matoran looks like without their mask on? Or does it just show Jaller's hand taking the mask?
207) I don't recall offhand.
21Bummer.
228. Does the Visorak venom affect physical strength? Like makes the victim stronger or weaker?
238) Definitely not weaker. Stronger is certainly very possible, but I see it more as being more brutal and more willing to use that strength. By the time of the movie story, most of the Toa are starting to "get a grip," but in the early part of the year, there are a lot of problems with the Toa being unable to control their rage and basically losing it.
24~envisions Nuju and Whenua in a fistfight~ Cool... 25----
26Thanks

1I have some new GregFarshtey question and answers. I like 'em a lot. See what you think: Enjoy: Greg answers in red.

2SPOILERS

3Dear MR. Farshtey,
4I have some more questions for you. Thanks in advance.
51. Do the Toa Metru undergo any mental change from the Visorak venom?
62. In my last questionnaire you said the Hordika are tainted after mutation. Tainted in what way?
73. Are the HOrdika half evil, such as Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde?
84. Is the female villian for 2005 a set?
95. If #5 is yes, is she the black set in the B2 spoilers?
106. When do the summer 2005 sets come out on LEgo S@H?
117. WHen does BA#10 come out next year?
128. When does BA#9 come out next year?
139. WIll the elite Visorak be released as a set?
1410. If #9 is yes, will it be a $8-9 set or a $10-30 set?
1511. Can you tell me the retail prices for all the 2005 sets(so I can start saving)?

16Thank YOu Mr. Farshtey, and Happy Halloween( its close, isn't it?)
17Cahdok-kal

181) You'll have to follow the story and see. 192) They are half beast. 203) No, I wouldn't say evil is the right word. Rahi are not by their nature evil. 214) Yes 225) I have not looked at the spoilers 236) No idea, that is up to SAH 247) 10 would be out probably sometime late October or November 258) 9 would be out in late August or Sept. 269) It's a combo model of existing '05 sets 2711) I don't have that information.

27) I don't recall offhand.
3Bummer.

4No, the Matoran face was never shown (at least in the demo tape).
5And so the elite Visorak is a combiner (well, he said that there is more than one, so I guess that would be "the elite Visorak are combiners  )? I hope it's colors aren't messed up... I wonder how many there are?
6And I hope there is fighting among the Hordika, due to their Rahi-like natures. I always liked Toa fighting each other.

1New info:

2SPOILERS:

3First off...
41. Can we ask any questions about the Hordika?
5Onward:
62. Are the set's heads (for the Hordika) one piece?
73. Can you give us info on the Hordika's weapons?
84. Do the Hordika have different powers now that their Kanohi have... 9fused to their faces?
105. Did the Hordika lose their masks, or did they fuse to their faces?
11Thank you:
12Tokika

131) Some 142) I am not sure what you are asking. From what I have seen, there is an eyepiece and then an axle holds the "mask" on. 153) Not yet, no 164) Hordika cannot access mask powers, because they are tainted. 175) Good question. The masks have basically become their faces, and it's kind of symbolic. Because as Hordika, you can no longer conceal your darkness behind a mask, so the masks become who you are.
18Greg

201. Yay: 212. He answered it anyways... 223. Darn it: 234. Alrighty then...I now see some other poeple have asked the same thing. 245. Here's some maybe major (probably not) info... 2Hello Greg: It's been a while... Where should we begin? 3Okay mabye some questions...
41)According to THIS picture - is that thing on Visorak back a Rhotuka launcher?
52)This red star above Mata-nui - Have it any connection tu the future storyline?
63)If yes, could You tell me what is that connection?
74)Is THIS a final version of Toa Hordika?
85)Is HE the famous 2005 minor villain?
96)Why Toa Metru doesn't have any kaita?

I can't discuss future storyline 164) I don't have the Hordika sets, so can't comment 175) I'm not aware of any "minor villain" discussed for '05 186) Because they never learned how to make one. Don't forget, they became Toa with really no one train them, which is why it took half a year of story before they even figured out their mask powers. Heck, the Toa Olda only knew about kaita because of Nokama's dream. 197) You will see some of how it was made

1Spoiler Warning:

  • 2What are the powers of the six Great Disks for each Metru? I've always wondered that... dunno why I keep forgetting to actually ask you...
    31) I don't remember off the top of my head. I would have to look it up.

  • 4Something I'm wondering about how the three Toa Metru and Turaga Lhikan escaped from the DH prison... It's my impression that they were able to escape mainly because they mastered their mask powers? Am I understanding that right?
    52) Nuju's telekinesis pulls stones out of the wall. That is how they get out of the cell.

  • 6And if so, why didn't the DH anticipate that? Were they actually convinced the six Toa Metru were fakes? Or that they'd never learn to use their masks?
    73) No, they knew they weren't fakes. But how could they know what their mask powers were? Also, don't forget, the DH's did not imprison them. They were sucked into the vortex and tricked into the cell by Vahki. The DH's were hunting the other three Toa at the time.

  • 8Is the Great Barrier the actual edge of the Dome? And because the tunnels were sealed it appears to be a solid cliff all the way around? Or is it still inside the Dome, and there is a ring of water around it between it and the actual edge? Or some'n else?
    94) I'm not going to get into what is and isn't the edge. Makes my head hurt.

  • 10Can't remember if you've addressed this before or not.. but did Makuta take Real Dume's Kiril, and wear it as part of the disquise? Or was the Kiril we saw actually the shape-shifted Kraakhan?
    115) Makuta wore a different Kiril, because Dume has his with him in the sphere.

  • 12And, Real Dume did wear a Noble Kiril before he was replaced, right? Someone in the talkback for the Kanoka powers chart article said he didn't.
    136) Yes, Dume did wear a Kiril before. If he hadn't, everyone would have looked at Makuta/Dume weird when he showed up wearing one.

  • 14Speaking of that talkback, why wasn't the Mask of Elemental Energy's combo of disks put in the list of the Kanoka combos? Not recognizable enough to bother? (Several members asked that in the talkback.)
    157) The MEE is a power-up in the software game. It is not, as far as I know, a mask made in Metru Nui and I kind of consider it to have an asterisk next to it because it was created by the software people with no input from the story team.

  • 16You've said that someone made the Great disks, and if I understood you right, it was possible because whoever it was knew how to purify protodermis enough? Well, would it be possible for Matoran (in Metru Nui, let's just pretend the events of LoMN never interrupt, hypothetically speaking) to eventually figure out those techniques on their own, experimentally?
    178) Offhamd, I would say no, because it ruins the mystique of the Great Disks if Matoran can eventually start churning them out like chocolate chip cookies.

  • 18You said recently that one of the major reasons (and you said it was more important than the other reason, which was to wait for the disasters to subside) Makuta wanted the Vahi is to speed up the process that makes the Matoran in their canisters lose their memory; that it takes a while for it to kick in. Well, how long would it take? Because when the Toa Metru finally do awaken the Mata Nui Matoran, it had obviously kicked in for them. And that wasn't centuries, obviously. Yet Makuta said that it would take a "lifetime" to accomplish what he wanted without the Vahi. What am I missing here? (Hope I made this clear enough.... )
    199) How had it "obviously kicked in for them" when they were awakened? None of the Matoran in the final scene of the movie have a line of dialogue, so you can't tell if they have lost their memories or not, and they certainly haven't shrunk yet.

  • 20What exactly did Makuta plan to do with the Vahi? I mean, where was he gonna focus its power? On himself, slowing himself down so that everything else goes by normally, and seems to go quick for him? Or focus it on the entire city, and let everything going on there go by quickly, but not on him and the rest of the universe (I guess he'd be outside the city)?
2110) Easiest thing to do would be to focus on the chamber beneath the Coliseum. He had the power to regulate how fast time sped up, so he could have simply worked it that the worst of the disaster was over before he woke them up.
    22Greg

23ookay, that's all for now. :)

24To 9. Ah. So, it's possible they did still have their memories when they woke up, but only lost them later, when the shrinking effect began to kick in? (I had thought I read that their memories were lost as soon as the awoke. But I don't remember where... could'a just beena rumor. ;))
259) Yes, there's no evidence they lost their memories immediately. They got out of the spheres early, but their systems were still affected by. 26them.

27To 10, do you mean, that all the Matoran canisters are in that chamber? And he'd focus the power basically on just the area where the Matoran are?
2810) Yes, except for the six the Toa rescue in LOMN, all the rest are in the chamber underneath the Coliseum.
29Greg
