1In Graphic Novel 8, which comes out in February of 2010.
1Hey GregF, just some questions to ask you. 21. Are the Masks of Elemental Energy somewhat rare in the Matoran Universe? 32. In the Matoran Universe, each Matoran had a specific job to do. On Spherus Magna, did each Agori (elemental) tribe have a unique job? 43. Did the Great Beings create the iron wolves from scratch, or modify them from existing creatures? 56. What were the Great Beings trying to do with the first robot they made? 6Thanks.
71) It's really not something we have worried about, since it only exists to be a power up in the video game. Beyond that, it's not something we are putting in story. 82) My feeling is they shift jobs depending on what is needed at that time. 93) Modified them from existing creatures 106) There was no overall intent. It was an experiment they were doing for the sake of seeing if it could be done.
1Hello, Mr. Farshtey, I just wanted to clear a few doubts based on some stuff in the OGD topic:
21) You said that Artahka is in the Archives. Someone said that he had and ENTRY there(like you have a BS01 page, but you don't live there), and someone else said that no, he was there physically as his island had fallen. Which one is true?
31a) If he is there in physical form, why not teleport Tren Krom to himself directly?
41b) Did he plan for Tren Krom to take over Lewa's body? If so, is that why Artahka sent Lewa to him?
52) Bohrok can be controlled by Matoran once Krana-less. If so, if a few hundred of them were ordered to wreak havoc, would that weaken Teridax?
63) If Mata Nui could be hurt by the Matoran not working, can Teridax?
7Thank you for taking time out :-)
81) If that is what I said, then I misread the original question. Tren Krom was in the Archives, not Artakha. 91b) He knew it was a possibility 102) Problem is, all the Bohrok are asleep, and you can't have just a small number awake. 113) Yes. He could die from that, and then all the Matoran would die too.
121) Dang. I thought I was onto something. 132) Dang again. Misjudged this one 143) Oh man . REALLY thought I was onto something this time .

2Hi Greg
3Is this picture from the Makuta species' homeland? You know, the pool Axonn and Brutaka fell into? 4http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Imag...uta_Species.png
5I think it is reasonable, because if this pic shows the Makuta's creation, all of them would have looked the same in the beginning and then used their shapeshifting power to create their own forms. Only Teridax would stick to his old form because he is the one who most identifies with his Makuta nature.
6NtM
7No, that pic, if I recall correctly, was simply a shot from Destral. It was not meant to show the creation of Makuta, since the artist who worked on it knew nothing about how Makuta are created. The whole concept of the pool did not even exist when this pic was made.
81) Still, it has never been stated what this picture was supposed to show and this would be a way to do a retcon.
92) I know that this is one of the proverbial carcasses in the BIONICLE cellar, but do you still have what you wrote for Invasion before it was cancelled? It'd be nice to see it released, even though it is unfinished, because the events of the book are still canon. In case you don't have time to release it, you could simply mail the file to BZP, BS01 or me and they'll release it for you here.
103) I just read a very emotional OGD post where a member congratulated you and the story team on the wonderful job you did with BIONICLE. There are also things I'd like to say about that:
11Thanks to your presence on BZP, members (including me) have been able to contribute to their favourite saga not just once, but over and over again, and there are still contests running to allow further contributions. Thanks to the Toa Mangai, Mangai/Mangaia, Nektann and Toa Naho, I will never forget 2008 and in the part of my heart that is reserved for BIONICLE, it has taken the place 2004 must have taken in your heart (since you say that it is your favourite year because you started writing the novels). Essentially, what you people have done is creating a creative story, one that grows and continously gets pieces added, much in the same way someone would build a MOC. That way, you did a wonderful job in connecting a great toy (LEGO) with a great story (BIONICLE) and created the LEGO BIONICLE series.
12Thanks for your answers and for everything else,
13NtM
141) The picture, if I recall correctly, is from the Atlas entry on Destral. The pool is not on Destral, so why would there be a pic of it in an entry on Destral? 152) No, I don't. I no longer have that computer. 163) And I sincerely hope that long after BIONICLE goes away someday, that fans like you will continue to build and grow the story. Star Trek fans did it, Star Wars fans did it, and I think BIONICLE is just as rich a universe as either one of those.
17About 2) Would there be any way for you to get the file? Printed pages you could send to a BZP admin? Copies on CDs/external drives?
18About 3) Star Wars is being continued in novels, TV series, comics etc., Star Trek is being continued officially, too, and I don't see why BIONICLE should not be continued as long as LEGO agrees. But no need to talk about the afterlife of a saga as long as it still lives and is nowhere near death. I hope you and LEGO will continue providing us with story and sets for at least five or six years. By the way, when will RoS 7 be up? And will there be something to celebrate BIONICLE's 10th anniversary next year?
194) Many people want a Sahmad serial, but a serial about a lunatic outcast enslaving people would not be that interesting, as you pointed out. However, since Sahmad is doing business with Roxtus, you could have him appear in Empire of the Skrall (e.g. making a delivery in Roxtus or going on a mission for the Skrall).
202) Nope. I don't have a hard copy or external copy. I had barely begun work on the book when it got cancelled. 213) ROS 7 was submitted to Kelly last Friday. As far as 2010 goes, I'm not allowed to discuss it. 224) I am actually planning to wrap up EOS with the next chapter and move on to something else (something short, probably) for the balance of the year.
23NtM
1Wow, I started a trend .
12. Did Miserix create Rahi like the other Makuta, or was he more focused on running the Brotherhood? 22a. If he did, did he specialize in reptillian Rahi? He favors them in the shapeshifting department...
3Thank you for your time.
4
52) Yes, he did 62a) Yes
7Thanks Greg.
81. Okay, Miserix was imprisoned around 80,000 years ago, so any Rahi he created would have to be ancient...ancient reptillian Rahi...well, Tahtorak once existed in herds that spanned Kio. They fit the bill of ancient reptillian Rahi and particularly nasty ("A swipe of a Tahtorak's tail can knock over many buildings at once." -BS01)... Did Miserix create the Tahtorak? 92. Is Miserix's red dragon form (the set form) supposed to look like an existing Rahi, or did he just take a random form from his imagination? 103. The Dweller in the Deep that lives under the Great Temple is a monstrous Rahi with a jaw big enough to swallow the Great Temple whole. This description sounds an awful lot like some of the First Rahi, some examples of which are a sixty-five foot long serpentlike fish, and a serpent about as long as Po-Metru. Is the Dweller in the Deep one of the First Rahi?
11Thank you for your time.
12
131) Yes 142) From his imagination 153) No
161. Sweet. 172. Well, it was worth asking. 183. Thought I had something there...
19
1Nothing new, Number 1 is kind of cool though. 26. would've been cool though.
31. Did the inhabitants of Spherus Magna have a hint that the Shattering would soon take place? Like increasing amounts of earthquakes, strange climate changes, reseeding waterlines, whatever. 42. Was there Exsidian in Vulcanus during the Core War? 53. Is it ok if I describe the Element Lord of Water as a Makuta-type scientist in my Core War Entry? (loves to experiment on the creatures in his/her realm)
6I was recently looking at the list of Creatures on Biosector01.com and had a strange curiosity with the Ancient Sea Behemoth and I thought it would be cool if it had some connection to the Core War. so a few questions about it:
74. Is it a Species or a single creature? 85a. Did it always look like it did in 2007? 95b did it either evolve or did the GB experiment with it? 106. Could the water tribe have tried to catch one and attempt to use this colossal being in the war? to either protect them or attack places near water?
11Thanks in Advance .
121) Quakes, yes, but not much warning. It happened pretty abruptly 132) Well before the Core War, yes 143) Yes 154) No one knows. Only one has ever been sighted, but they may live so deep that they aren't seen much 165) Always looked that way 176) Doubtful. I don't think they could have it down deep enough to try to catch it
1Relax, I asked Black Six beforehand if I can post questions and answers based on the clips that have appeared on the TLR website, the ones Binkmeister added, or the ones that Amazon has added. It will be in spoiler tags.
10EDIT: Added in spoiler tags just in case.
2Hey GregF, just some questions to ask you. 3I don't really understand what Mata Nui was telling the other Glatorian about Toa. It seems in the movie that Mata Nui charged their weapons with elemental energy, yet he calls the Glatorian "Toa." Do the Glatorian now have elemental powers or is it the weapons that have elemental powers? 4Thanks.
5Well, if you were Mata Nui, what would you call heroes with elemental powers? And I believe the intent of the script was that the Glatorian now had elemental powers.
6Well, that's the concern I have. Mata Nui only powered up the weapons itself. Unless the weapons itself needed to be modified to allow the Glatorian to access their elemental powers?
7How do you know thsat? When have we stated he only powered up the weapons?
8It wasn't stated, but it was clearly seen. In the movie, Mata Nui took Ackar's weapon, placed it near his mask, and the weapon started to glow, and it was charged and changed to a different looking sword. You can view the clip here.
9But in the story bible, it states that he ends up empowering the Glatorian with Toa-like powers.
10EDIT: Added in spoiler tags just in case.
1It's possible that the mask charged the Glatorian's weapons with some sort of energy that would automatically transfer to the Glatorian when they took it back.
1i have a quick question mr farsthey: what would happen if mata nui would take the mask of life off?
2His body would crumble away
3dude, we have mata nui's weakness here.
4Thats been known for a while. It was also Toa Ignika's weakness.
5That would be funny if Mata-Nui was about to defeat Strakk, but then he tripped on a lose stone and his mask fell off. 6Many lawls to be had.

7Just be glad his mask fits better than Takua's. 8Anyways, it's not really his weakness; he can be killed normally, too, and that's probably easier than pulling the mask off his face.
1Hi Greg.
21. Chirox's Rahi are known to contribute nothing but death to the ecosystem. Examples are the Doom Viper, which has toxic breath; Lohrak, which have toxic skin; and Visorak, who we know capture and mutate anything they come across.
3Catapult Scorpions are quite vicious Rahi. When they come out of their nest, they destroy everything in their path. They consider almost everything that moves an enemy. All they contribute to the ecosystem is death and destruction; sounds like Chirox's cup of tea. Did Chirox create the Catapult Scorpion?
42. Also, thanks to the server crash, we lost the quote saying that Krika took over Spiriah's region after he went into hiding, since the Northern Continent is nearby. Would you mind re-confirming that Krika became Makuta of Zakaz after Spiriah went rogue?
5Thank you for your time.
6
71) Yes 82) Krika became Makuta after Zakaz after Spiriah went rogue
91. And that concludes this week's worth of Rahi questions. 102. Just for the BS01 info-freaks.

1I would like some one to ask gregF a question because I can't use the message feature.
2Is Aqua magna a MOON or a PLANET, I want this to be confirmed because last time I remember, Aqua magna was farther away than this and did not look like an asteroid.
3-Alki.
4No need to ask Greg, it's already been stated by the guys in Denmark that Aqua Magna is a MOON of Bara Magna. I think it a little ridiculous myself, but that's for another place and time...

4Neither; it's a fragment of a planet orbiting around a larger planet. Keep in mind that our good friends Tinseltown Toons used quite a bit of artistic license in the movie, so the depictions of the blue asteroid orbiting Bara Magna may not be entirely accurate.

5Just to let all know, Aqua Magna being a "moon-planet" of Bara Magna was just decided a few weeks ago.
6By that time, the movie was already finished
11) I read that Teridax is beckoning to the Red Star. If so, is he going to chase Mata Nui? 21a) Could he force the Matoran to fight Mata Nui? 31b) Do the beings inside the Red Star know what has happened? 41c) Will they answer his call? 51d) Does Teridax know where Mata Nui went?
62) What was Mata Nui's original mission?
73) What is the reason for having a universe inside him?
81) Can't discuss future storyline 91a) Not really, no. He can tell them to do so, and kill them if they refuse, but they probably would die before being willing to do that ... and if he kills them all, he dies too, so it's a Mexican standoff. 101b) I doubt it 111c) They have no choice. 121d) Yes, because he can track the Ignika 132) That gets revealed next year 143) You have to keep in mind that the beings who consider it a universe are the ones who live in it. Basically, Mata Nui is giant robot with millions of nanotech beings inside of him and various mechanical "organs." So in that sense, you could even argue he is more like a synthezoid, a living being whose parts are all mechanical. So he has a universe inside him the same way you have one inside of you. You have living bacteria in your body, a waterway (your bloodstream) that travels the length of your body, and various places for the bacteria to live. Something in your liver that wants to travel to your brain would sail on your bloodstream, the same way someone who wanted to get to Metru Nui would sail on liquid protodermis to do it.
15Questions I had about the robot body.
1It's about time we find out Mata Nui's original mission.
1Since it will be revealed next year, that pretty much confirms Mata Nui will appear next year.

4Yeah, just watch Osmosis Jones, everyone is someone's universe.

16Think Osmothis Jones, only bigger, and, with robots... 17Sorry, i did not see the quote above me as it was on a new page.
1Hi, Greg.
21. In the BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn novelization preview at the end of Raid on Vulcanus, the Scarab Shield is said to have "a symbol of a single eye in its center" which acts as Click's eye in that form. In the movie, however, he still has two eyes. Which is accurate according to canon?
32. Did you ever give a name (formal or informal) to Mata Nui's sword in BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn?
42b. If you had to give it a name (like Scarab Shield), what would you call it?
53. Is there any story reason why Ackar and Strakk used shields instead of launchers during their match in BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn?
6Thanks for your time .
71) In the script, he had one eye. And the book is based off the script. 82) I never did, no 92b) No idea. 103) Yes. What weapons you can use in a match is determined by the elders of the villages prior to the match. Thornax are not used in every match, and in some matches, they are the only things that get used. It's the same way that in gladiator matches in Rome, you didn't always use the net and trident, sometimes you used just a short sword.
11Nothing especially useful. Maybe when movie spoilers are allowed I can ask some more significant questions, but perhaps some of those might be answered in the novelization.
1I would call it the stinger sword. We could have an interesting name contest though...
1Hi there Mr. Farshtey. Just one question today, and I hope to the great beings the answers is yes.
2I was going through the VNOLG gallery on BS01 the other day, and I had a majorly awesome (IMO) idea, that I hope you could approve.
3There is an item in VNOLG, a non-canon kanohi called the vision mask, which I believe you said was non-canon long before BiA. Now a "vision mask" sounds a lot like a kanohi that gives you visions, like the mask of clairvoyance, hm?
4So, that leads to my question: is the vision mask the same thing as the Mask of Clairvoyance? Is the below image the Mask of Clairvoyance?
5Please Please Please say yes. =D
6-Thoron
7PS. Here is the image
8| 9V
10
11I had no involvement with VNOG, so I hesitate to say yes to this. I have no idea what the intent of the designers was. I don't know what the mask did in the game, so I can't say, yes, it's the same as clairvoyance. For example, if it gives you visions of what is going on NOW or what went on before, it is not clairvoyance.

1Hello GregF. I only have one question.
21) Is it okay to have a character serve as a double agent?
3My plan was to have Strakk be a double agent for the Ice Tribe, helping them know what the Fire Tribe was up to, and then have Ackar turn the tables on him.
4The idea mainly came from the fact I thought that Strakk's sudden hatred (and attack) of Ackar seemed unprovoked. After all, Strakk values payment above all else, and he practically threw away his job.
5Thanks, 6LewaLew
71) Pretty doubtful. I don't think any tribe is going to trust a member of another tribe during that period, plus if Ackar knew Strakk was a double agent in the war, why would he have let him be a part of the defense of Vulcanus?
8Just ignore all that stuff about my original story idea. I didn't explain it very well.
Talking about the "Bionicle Stars" line 1I don't know if you can comment on this yet, but were they supposed to be released in 2010 or during 2009?
2They are 2010 product. I seriously doubt Target will actually have them in stores this early, although I have no doubt they will come out before Christmas.
3
