1Hello Mr. Farshtey,
2Just got some questions.
31. Will there be two sets of serials this year (like 2008)? 42. When will RoS end this year? I've heard it was going to end in March but I also heard it was going to have 20 chapters. 53. Will the story (after the "end") be like story years, with everything happening around a single line of events or will it just be to stall until they decide whether or not to bring Bionicle back?
6Off topic
74. I read in OGD that you weren't allowed to read fan fiction. Are you allowed to explain why? 85. Which book are you on in The Dresden Files?
9Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions.
10-Lewa Krom
111) Don't know yet, possibly more than two 122) Spring 133) Neither. I don't plan to build it around one big event, because if people don't like the big event, they won't want to read any of them. And I don't see it as a stall, because I don't expect BIONICLE back as a set line anytime soon, I see it as something we are doing for the fans. 144) Sure. If I don't read fan fiction, and I make it clear to everyone that I don't, then I can't accidentally use someone else's idea or, more importantly, be accused of using someone else's idea. It's the same reason that if someone sends in an unsolicited idea for a set design to LEGO, the set designers never see it, it goes to Customer Service and right back to the sender. 155) I'm up to date.
161. So you will be writing just as much as any other year? I mean, the comics will be replaced by a serials, the books will be too (I already know Journey's End is going to be made that way in the US, though I plan to buy the actual book on eBay). I guess what I'm trying to say is, will each serial be more personalized for each character/set of characters, unlike RoS which is a big compilation of various characters? 172. So for Spring we have RoS and Journey's End. Will there be a third for the Spring? Sahmad's Tale, maybe? 183. What I was trying to ask was, the story will be moving forward and building like always, right? 194. Makes sense. 205. I'm on Dead Beat. 216. Will there be more potential for fan made storyline additions?
22Thanks in advance.
23-Lewa Krom
241) Don't know yet 252) Sahmad's Tale, yes 263) Moving forward, yes, but not necessarily building toward one big epic climax. It's a different kind of story now. 276) Hopefully, we'll see
282. Yeah, I just listened to it... didn't realize it was already up. If these serials end in Spring, will there serials for Spring-Summer or Spring-Fall or will there be a serial gap?
29Thanks for taking the time out of your morning to answer these questions.
30-Lewa Krom
31I am not planning a serial gap at this time.
32Yay . Cereals . I like Riddle of the Lucky Charms .
33Can't wait to se what he has planned for us in the serials this year .

1Hello again, I sent you a reply to this answer a couple of weeks ago, but I think the system ate it.
2Hi Mr. Farshtey, 3I have a few questions, mainly about how destiny works in the Bionicle universe: 41. Is destiny something you must do, or just something you are meant to do? 52.Is it possible for a being to permanantly die before completing his/her destiny? 62a. If so, what happens when a being dies before completing his/her destiny? 73. Do the beings in the alternate universes eg The Kingdom, The Toa Empire etc have the same destiny as their main universe counterparts? 83a. Does Takanuva have the same destiny as his alternate version in the Kingdom? 93b. Did alternate Takua (Toa Empire) have Toa Power in him? 104. If a Matoran is destined to become a Toa, and therefore contains Toa Power, could their power be drained by a Nui Stone? 115. Do the Alternate universes work on the "Trousers of Time" theory (that the universe splits in two every time an important event happens)? Or have they been in existance since the dawn of time? 126. Is a being's destiny fixed from the moment they are born, or can it change throughout their lives?
13Thank you for your time .
141) It is what you are intended to do, and therefore, one way or the other, what you will do. 152) I would say no. If they die, then dying was their destiny, not what they may have thought their destiny was meant to be. (Basically, this all falls under the "pre-destination" umbrella.) 163) No. We already know that, since we saw that Takua was not destined to become Takanuva in one of them. 173a) No 183b) No 194) No 205) The former 216) Fixed from the time of their creation
22Hmmm... I see a few contradictions here. If Takua was destined to become a Toa, according to your logic, he presumably would have had Toa power in him from the time he was created. And he was created BEFORE the Toa empire universe split off from the main one. So, when the split happened, alternate Takua must have been somewhat altered so that he no longer contained Toa Power, which is, according to your explanation, impossible, since a being's destiny is fixed from the time they are created...
23I'm a little confused. Am I missing something here?
24So a being's destiny can change when an alternate universe is created, but in the main universe they remain fixed?
25Thanks again for your time.
26Yes, because if you alter history, you alter destiny. Takanuva was destined to become a Toa because of the need for light power to defeat the Makuta. In Tuyet's universe, the Makuta were not destined to be a threat, therefore he was not destined to become a Toa.
271. So is the main universe sort of like a stable "parent universe" from which all alternate dimensions are formed (excluding pocket dimensions)?2. And when an alternate dimension splits from the main universe it can cause certain Matoran to lose -or perhaps gain- Toa power? 282a. Do Balta, Dalu, Defilak, Kapura, Tamna and Velika have Toa power in them in the main universe? (It's okay if you don't want to answer that.) 293. You said that a being cannot die before completing his destiny, yet Mata Nui and Jaller both died temporarily. Does that mean that if they do die their soul just hangs around until someone revives them? Or are some beings just destined to temporarily die then come back?
30Thanks . Hope you feel better soon .
311) Yes, similar to Marvel's Earth-616 322) Yes 332a) Not so far as I know. I certainly have no plans to make them Toa. 343) The key word is temporarily. They came back, so they're not dead and still can complete their destiny.
35I think #1 (the last one) is new. We now know that all the other universes originally sprung from the main one.

Is destiny something you must do, or just something you are meant to do? 412.Is it possible for a being to permanantly die before completing his/her destiny? 422a. 75We already knew that, you silly pancake .
1Has anybody noticed that in this picture, if you look to the far left, you can see Nektann attacking Vastus??
2Yes, in fact I can see multiple Nektann shadows. I guess that's rtistic liscense.
1I just want to know if you're planning on continuing the RoS story? And perhaps how many chapters do you plan on writing if so? Or if you can't answer the previous, then can you give me an estimate on how many chapters?
2Thanks in advance.
3It will be running at least through March, I don't know how many chapters that means at this point.
4Thank you for answering.
5Not sure if someone already asked this, but eitherway it ends in March.
1Hi Greg, I have only two question about "Sahmad's Tale"
21.- Sahmad believes that the Great Beings were the causes of the disease that decimated the Iron Tribe? 32.- Perhaps the disease that decimated the Iron Tribe has to do with the Protodermis Energized or the Great Beings?
4Bye Greg . . 5By the way, good opening chapter to "Sahmad's Tale"
61) No, it doesn't say that. He has no idea who's responsible for it. If he did think it was the GBs, he probably wouldn't be embarking on this quest, because he has no reason to believe there are any GBs on BM. 72) I can't see how. EP did not appear on the surface of the planet until thousands of years after the plague. No one had ever even heard of it at the time this happened.
1Hello, just a few questions concerning varying subjects.
21. What level of technology did Spherus Magna have prior to the Shattering? 31a. How much of it has Bota Magna retained?
42. Have you decided whether bio-mechanical "dinosaurs" exist on Bota Magna in the core universe? (Bionicle 5 script)
53. Is it possible that the inhabitants of Bota Magna are still at war, or would it have stopped with the absence of EP/EL? 63a. If you cannot reveal this, will it be revealed in Journey's End? 73b. If not, are you planning on doing a serial on post-Shattering Bota Magna?
84. There is a little bit of mystery (unless I am missing something) on how MN made it possible for the BM and MU inhabitants to understand each other. Do you mind clearing this up for me?
95. Does the Mask of Mutation simply mutate a living thing to suit the mask-wearer's needs?
106. Who is your favorite Matoran to write about?
11Thank you for taking the time to answer my simple questions .
121) Bota Magna was largely agrarian, not a high tech society 131a) Some not all 142) I don't need to decide it until I take the story there, basically 153) No, the Core War is over there same as on Bara Magna 164) Simple. MN had to be able to understand the languages of the planets he visited, which means he had to have something akin to a universal translator built in. Which also makes it logical that the prototype would have that as well. 175) As opposed to doing what? 186) Don't have one.
19I think 1 and 4 are new, and I sent a reply to 1 and 5.
12a. So then this would explain why the alternate Gorast has telekinesis (Kraata Power), and by extension, all Makuta in that dimension, then? In Brothers in Arms, Gorast used telekinesis to lift up Vultraz and slam him into the ground. The Makuta in our universe does not have telekinesis as a Kraata power. 22b. Is it possible that we will see some Kraata powers used by the alternate Teridax that Makuta do not have in our universe in achapter of Reign of Shadows? 32c. So such powers like Darkness, Fear, Anger, etc. Kraata powers, the alternate Teridax would not have? 44. If the Kraata in their universe do not corrupt, what would they do? 55. How would you describe the alternate Teridax's personality? 66. Is he still a biomechanical being or has he evolved into Antidermis?
72a) Right 82b) Don't know at this point 92c) Yup 104) Since I don't plan to show any kraata in action from that universe, I haven't worried about it 115) Beyond what has been in story for him, nothing exists. I don't do character profiles when I create characters, I let them develop naturally in story. 126) He has evolved to antidermis, yes
13I found the answers of 2a and 6 rather interesting.
1Hello again, and thanks for that first chapter of Sahmad's Tale.
21) When the Iron Tribe was infected by the plague, had the Sisters of the Skrall broken off from the Rock Tribe, or were they still part of the tribe? 32) Telluris obviously didn't go insane because of the Plague, so did he go mad simply out of paranoia and wandering in the desert for too long? 43) What were the Iron Tribe's colors originally, or do we not know yet? 54) If Tren Krom can access Lewa's Miru Nuva, can he also summon other Kanohi Nuva from Le-Suva? 65) When the Great Beings first created a Turaga, did they make only one, like they did with the first Toa, Helryx, or did they make a group?
7Thanks, Mr. Farshtey
8~LL
91) Still part of the tribe 102) Yup 113) Gray and dark blue 124) Yes 135) Only one, because only one was needed initially. Then more later
1I found the answers of 2a and 6 rather interesting.
2Same, this leads to interesting implications in RPing.
3Here's a question of my own.
4One quick question. While reading through Sidorak's page on Biosector, I noticed this below quote:5His method of claiming credit attracted the attention of the Brotherhood of Makuta, who recruited him into their ranks, and he quickly rose to power.
6So, did the BoM recruit him because they thought he actually was competent, or did they see through his lies but recruit him anyway for his credit-claiming ability? The quote implies the latter, but I'm confused as to how this would benefit the BoM -- wouldn't they want an actually competent member rather than a member that might be able to cheat his way to the top but could screw things up (like he eventually did)?
7The text as they wrote it does give a mistaken impression -- basically, Sidorak took credit for things and so the BOM believed he had accomplished them, thus his rise through the ranks.
8Not as interesting, but it was bugging me. I think someone might want to edit the page when they have time.
9EDIT: You know, Sidorak is kind of a loser. Biting off more than he can chew then eventually paying for it...Too bad he doesn't live up to the impression his awesome set form makes. xD 10EDIT2: Not that he isn't awesome, just not in the same way say, Brutaka is.
1Hey Greg. Couple questions.
21. Now that Nektann has gone 'Piraka', I'm wondering if Piraka is a term for Skakdi (or any other sentient being in the MU) going rogue? 32. Was Teridax's ultimate goal to take over the MU, or just control Metru Nui? 43. I recall that you said that Adaptive Armor in its neutral form is 2010 Tahu's armor (or that it could be considered to be that). Does this mean Takanuva has Adaptive Armor too? 54. The Agori on Bota Magna would feel Mata Nui pulling the planet toward Bara Magna, right? 65. How long approximately would the prototype robot Mata Nui's in last?
7Thanks .
81) It basically always was, BM. It essentially means thief and murderer. 92) His initial goal was to control Metru Nui, thus controlling if Mata Nui ever woke up, and set himself up as ruler of the Matoran. When that failed, he realized that he didn't need to replace the Great Spirit if he could BE the Great Spirit. 103) No, he does not. Takanuva was not given adaptive armor by Artakha. 114) I am sure they would feel something, yes 125) Depends on what it's being used for, power levels, etc.
13Nothing majorly new here.
14--Billy Mays--
1Hello again, and thanks for that first chapter of Sahmad's Tale.

14Huh...I wonder if Toa of Iron could have those colors too?
1Toa of Iron already have a colour scheme.
1Hello Mr. Greg, 2I would first like to wish you a happy (late) new year, and hope your Christmas was wonderful.
3Anyways, I only have two questions for you:
41.) In Sahmad's Tale, it was said that Telluris used Minerals to change his armor, and so did Sahmad. What was the original color of the Iron Tribe armor? (silver?)
52.) You have stated previously that Telluris is insane. Is he more like Vezon, Mutran, or neither? (I throw in "neither" because insanity can take on many forms. Just look the Joker, the Ventriloquist, and Two-Face: all three are wackos, yet the conditions of their minds are completely different...)
6Thank you for your time, 7Captain raven575
81) Gray and dark blue 92) I'd say neither. Telluris is insane the way someone who has had to wander the desert for years is apt to be. He's not a criminal psychopath or an anarchist so much as he is just touched in the head.
1Dear Greg,
21. BS01 says that the turaga of metru nui went underground and met up with krahka, but then ended up imprisoned in the coliseum later, how did this happen? 32. Who was the mysterious voice that told lewa to get the sundial? 43.Where is the sundial now? 54.What is the status of lhikan's hau? It was last seen on Daxia. 65. How is Mata Nui able to make the MU people speak with the Spherus Magna people?
7Thank you very much
81) Well, the MU is full of Rahkshi loyal to Makuta, not that hard to get caught and imprisoned 92) Hasn't been revealed 103) Probably in the rubble of Daxia 114) Unknown 125) The equivalent of a universal translator. After all, MN had to be able to understand the languages of the people on the planets he visited.
1Hello Greg, First of all I would like to congratulate you on righting Sahmad's tale, which is now one of my favorite peices of BIONICLE liturature ever.
21. What are your thoughts on Spiderman 4 being canceled and being replaced with a reboot of the movie series?
32. Why Were the Iron Agori dark blue and gray but the Fe-Matoran being gray and burnt orange if the great beings based the mu beings off of the Spherus Magna beings?
43. Was the leader of the Iron tribe 5a.Immune 6b.a carrier 7c.affected, but not until after a while.
84. I noticed that Sahmad's tale was considerably darker than most other BIONICLE Media, will most of our future online media be like this, or does this one just happen to be darker than most?
9Thank you oh so much, 10Redge the bat.
111) I'm not a Tobey McGuire fan, so doesn't bother me any. It's the same thing they did with Batman, and it worked. 122) Because we never said that they based color schemes off the Agori -- if they did, why is Air green when there isn't even an Air tribe in Bara Magna? 133) C. 144) I actually don't think it was darker than, say, Island of Doom was. And no, I don't intend for any one tone to be the same for everything I do, that would get boring.
151.Ahmen to that 162.hmmmm 173.ah. That makes sense 184."an invintation to get ostrisised, mobbed, or even stoned" comes to mind.
1really sorry to bug you.
2can we say that there is a mask for every element?
3if so, is there an element for every mask power?
41) There is the potential to be 52) No. An "element" is something there can be a Toa of. But a lot of mask powers -- like, say, Shielding -- are too small to be a Toa element. So no, not every mask power is also a Toa element.
1hi greg
21.light terry is made of antidermis right?
32.can can alt. universe being have a destiny that includes them going to another dimension?
43.since you don't like villians turning good, teridax is not going to pull bota, aqua, and bara magna together untill he kills mata nui so there can't be someone to challenge him right?
54.are you still sick or are you well again?
61) Yes 72) Yes 83) Teridax went to Bara Magna to destroy it, though, not pull it together 94) Mostly better
10okay this is speculation so i'll save the mods some time and say it here: light teridax probably going to take over the MU. if the shadow takanuva don't kill him first.
1Hey Greg. Just wanted to know, was it a coincidence that Mata Nui (island) was shaped similarly to Metru Nui, or was there a particular reason? 2Also, under normal curcumstances of landing on a planet and camoflaguing himself, does Mata Nui's camoluage system make an island entirely made out of rock, resembling the barren state the island of Mata Nui was left in by the Bohrok?
31) Yes, it was intentional. His camouflage system is based in his brain, and it makes the island in the shape it knows best -- that of his brain. 42) Yes

2Greg has stated that serial exclusive characters do not impact the main storyline. So light teridax will not take over the MU to fix Spherus Magna.
1Hello Greg, I have a quick question. When Tuma names a Skrall, does that name mean something in the Skrall language, or is it something random that Tuma just made up?
2If the former, what do Stronius and Branar's names mean in Skrall, or have you not developed meanings?
3Far as I know, they do not have meanings as such
1Hey GregF, I have a few questions. 21a. How many chapters of the mini-serial, Sahmad's Tale, can we expect? 31b. Is the story still considered a mini-serial or has it been upgraded to a full serial via podcast? 42. Is there a name for the plague that struck the Iron Tribe? 53. If not, how would you refer to the plague as? Dream Plague? 64. Will we find out how the plague came about in Sahmad's Tale? 7Thanks.
81-1b) I am planning for it to be short, probably wrapping up by end of Feb. or early March 92) The dreaming plague 104) As soon as I know how it came about, so will you
1Hello Mr. F. In the OGD, I've seen that you described MN as a universal translator for his people. How exactly does this work? Does being in his body on a new planet automatically reprogram (or program in) the language of the world, or something?
2-Pyro
3I based it off the old Star Trek device, which basically scans for universal concepts and patterns in language and translates based on that.
4That's how it works... he wasn't really giving a straight answer before, and even though I don't watch Star Trek, I can get this.

6Darn. I was hoping it'd be more of a Babel fish type thing. You know, a sort of database that instanteously transmits audio in the language of the user. But more mystical.

3Yes, but you have to remember the entire story will be told in serials soon. Major events can happen online now if Greg wants them to.

11Perhaps the Iron Tribe drank too much coffee?
12I hope it manages to last longer. Sahmad seems like an interesting character.

5Yes, but Teridax being defeated, Spherus Magna being restored etc will probably take place in the first half of 2010, which means it will be covered in the final book and the final comic. The "age of the serials" is after that, so it's unlikely that our white Teridax will save the universe, even though it may sound interesting.
1No, I think Greg was speaking hypothetically, completely separate from whether or not that theory is actually true. Whether it is or is not, Greg wouldn't say either way because it is too early in the story to comment on any theory.
1Or greg didn't give any hints and just said that he doesn't want to spoil the end yet, he also said before that he hasn't thought of a end yet
2And even if somebody had guessed the end, why would he spoil the end of the serials? He doesn't spoil the end of the books and comics, so no reason he would do it now
3And besides, why is the story interesting if you already know the end?
4And btw, I think there already to much discussion about this subject a say this because it shouldn't be discussed to much
