1Some more info... Some mild spoilers here containing Brutaka and Axxon. No. 7 has been edited with a reply.

2QUOTE 3Hey greg, another set of questions for my epic... really hoping you'll be able to answer these if not I'll be stuck with a chapter. Thanks a bunch Greg.
41) Do the Matoran know of Axxon and Brutaka?
52)How long has Axxon been on Voya Nui?
63)How long has Brutaka been on Voya Nui?
74)Are there any other voya nui matoran names that appear in the story that you could share?
85)Do the Voya Nui matoran know of the Great Spirit Mata Nui or Makuta?
96)What kind of Rahi do you find on Voya Nui?
10Other stuff questions:
117)Were the Toa Of Mata Nui the only cansisters in the ocean?
128)The being who made the cansisters... is he a major character in 2006 (aka. a set)or will he appear only in the books?
139)Do the Rahaga appear in the BL series?
14Thats all. Thanks for the help Greg.

15b. Sooner or later, LEGO is going to have to do something with the Toa Nuva: transform them, give them new builds, or re-release them because they are the Toa that are to awaken Mata Nui. Has LEGO planned for this already?

2So true.
3Of course whe awakening is far off; I think it would be near the very end. If lego keeps making bionicle until there is no fanbase, that means mata nui will awaken when everyone cares least. Which sucks, by the way.

4Actually, no. Greg said they are going to eventually awaken Mata Nui, and there will be more story afterwords. This is an old idea, which is now known to be a misconception (since 2004) that the universe suddenly magically becomes hunky dory when Mata Nui is awake... that wasn't the case while he was awake in 2004's story... or a thousand years earlier when the Dark Hunters had a war against Metru Nui... Or when the BoM started actively being evil... etc. user posted image So, obviously there's no reason to think all trouble goes away when he's awakened, and so there's plenty more to do after that. user posted image

1Just a few answers:
21) Was there any kind of newspaper in Metru Nui? That'd be quite awesome. 31) No. 42) Was there really a Metru Nui Ministry Of Tourism, or was that just made up by the Web People? 52) It most likely did exist at some point, since there used to be travel between different cities 63) I believe you said the main problem on Voya Nui, before the Piraka came, was the climate, weather and such. How long has that been a problem there? 73) Pretty much since the island got to where it is now

8Aww...no newspaper in Metru Nui. Would've loved that.

1Hello, Greg: I understand you must be busy, so I just have a few questions:
21)Will the Toa Nuva just be temporarily pushed to the side in '06, like Krahka and Tahtorak?
32)Can you put a number on how many Matoran deaths there will be this year?
43)Were the Matoran on Voya Nui always there?
5Thank you for your time.

61) Since there are no plans to re-release them as sets in 2006-2008, no, they will not be in the forefront in those three years. Beyond that, I cannot say as we have not mapped story for it yet. 72) No 83) These particular Matoran? No.

4Hi Greg: Some questions: 5Is this synopsis a placeholder or is it accurate for BL 4? 6-Angellos

7I haven't finished 3 yet, so I haven't even started 4 yet. And even if it were true, I wouldn't tell you, because doing so would be ruining the end of the story for you. But since I haven't even started 4 yet, I think you can draw your own conclusions, right?

8Perhaps, but authors don't usually dive into a book with no idea beforehand of what they are going to right. For all we know, you could have been given that synopsis by your storyteam superiors and told to elaborate on it. So can you say for certain that this synopsis is false?

9Actually, I usually jump into my books that way, If I know what is going to happen before I start writing, it's dull (and BTW, at this point I am my story team superiors, because of Bob Thompson leaving the company). At any rate, saying yes or no would be giving an answer on something I am not going to comment on -- future storyline. Confirming it was false would be telling you what the story would NOT be, which in its own way ruins it for you. So you will just have to wait for next year like everyone else.

10Yes, but GregF is also known to throw us curve balls when he are getting right ideas about the future storyline too early. He likes to put doubt in our minds about the truth.
11I seriously doubt that synopsis is 100% true, but I believe that the basis of it is. Where would they get names of new Toa when they could have just said Nuva. And why a mask of life? A mask of life to me sounds like it could destroy the universe. Think about it, a mask that controls life. Dangerous if in the wrong hands.
12Plus, the monster could be the $30 set. It also seems to follow the idea of, "Get to the object before the Piraka do" plot that we all ready know exists.
13All-in-all I think that synopsis is partially true.
14~T11~

1I agree with Takua 11 -- I think that synopsis is pretty accurate and Greg's throwing us a curve ball by trying to make us think it's not true. That's just my personal opinion, though.

1Will we ever see the Froselius, or however you spell that, in the story? They've been left out so far (I think), and I was wondering if you can tell me if they will appear or were just a backstory for a combiner?

2They may appear at some point, because you never know when I will work things in. But I have no immediate plans for them. As you can imagine, with the number of new characters and new combiners every year, it is hard to work everything into the story.

3Oh, well... There's a chance, anyway.

1Well, now that there are five novels, Greg might be able to work Frostelus into them.

3As far as anyone currently in the story knows, he's dead. Whether or not that's true, only time and future story will tell.

5We haven't seen his corpse, which is comic-speak for "still alive, and plotting a new and incredibly evil way to defeat the heroes."
#4615
1Well, the reason we haven't seen his body, dead or alive, is because he is on the other side of a massive stone door. So we don't know for sure, but I think that your right and that he may still be alive, badly weakened, but alive.
#4616
1Ok, I just have one question:
2In BA#1, The Toa met at the Great Temple after finding the Matoran, then they began their quest for the great disks. But why did Matau and Nokama have to start from a new point in the next book, heading for the temple?
#4617
1Dark Lugia, you have to PM Greg with your questions. He VERY rarely looks here.
2To your question, I have a few ideas. I haven't read BA#1 for a while, so bear with me. Possibly: 3- Matau and Nokama had more info on the Le-Metru Disk so went looking for that one first, 4- Nokama and Matau didn't know enough about the location of the Ga-Metru Disk, so had to research the item elsewhere.
5There may be other alternatives, but I can't think right now.
#4618
1Odd; I thought this place would be jumping by now.
21. Erm...are we supposed to know about the Mask of Life this early? Or did the folks at S@H just mess up big time? 31) No, they didn't mess up. Mask of Life is mentioned in the first chapter of the first book, I think. It's not a big secret. It's a quest object.
42. So, we know (somewhat) what the Piraka's weapons do. Can you tell me what they're called? 52) I am going to post a topic on all this when I have a free moment
63. All right...I've got a description of Zamor spheres which I'm not sure is accurate. Can you confirm this?
7The new collectables for this year are called Zamor spheres, which are used by the Piraka in conjunction with some kind of launcher. The skin of the spheres is solid, but can become intangible temporarily; you can put gas, liquid, or energy into them, depending on what you want to do.

83) Yup, that's accurate
95. Will Zamor spheres play a big part this year? Like the Kanohi in '01? Or will they be relatively unimportant? 105) They are pretty important, yes, though I see the packs as being more reloads than a true collectible
116. Do we get many occasions to see Avak, Velika, and/or Balta ply their inventive trade? 126) Some, in the books
137. We gonna see the Piraka combine forces to use their elemental powers, or are they going to be too busy coming up with ways to kill each other? 147) Happens once so far in the first book. I am downplaying the elemental powers because we have done elemental powers so often
158. Are we going to find out where the Doomtoran "came from" (as said by Dalu) this year or in the foreseeable future? 168) Yes, you will find out in Book 2 in 2006

171. Okay, that's good. I just got the feeling that it was supposed to be left until later for some reason. 182. Really? *glues eyes to S&T* 193. All right, I wasn't sure. 204 was when Brutaka and Axonn first show up. I thought he'd answer that, but he didn't. 215. Good. I'm glad they play a part. 226. Yay: 237. Only once? Darn. I wanted to see dual-elemental golems. 248. Interesting. Time to start theorizing.

2Well, apart from its name, which could be interpreted in too many ways to count, we have no clue what it does, so why make assumptions?

3To MotR:
4Some interesting questions there, since the MoLI appears so early I don't think that really spoilers much. The Zamor spheres interest me... the seem quite versatile, perhaps moreso than Kanoka and Rhotuka.

1Hi Greg: I have seen the pics and bios of the Piraka at LEGO S@H, and I have some questions about them...
21)Does Zaktan's 3-pronged blade have a power? If so, then what is it? 32)What is "impact vision," anyway? 43)Was the Mask of Light thing in Hakann's bio a typo? 54)Can you let me in on the powers of the Zamor spheres? 65)Do the powers of the Piraka's Zamor spheres differ between each of them? 76)Does the "secret of the Zamor spheres" have an important role in the story? 87)What is Zaktan's fifth power, anyway?
9And two micsellanious questions... 108)Who came up with the "Draw a Piraka" thing on the Bionicle website? 119)Did you try it?
12Thank you for your time:

133) Yes, it was a typo 145) No 156) Yes 168) No idea 179) No

1OoMN Q's:
2I've got a couple things to ask about the Order of Mata Nui:
31. Was there anybody or anything who truly knew about the OoMN, or were they an utterly secret society?
42. Were they founded before or after the Brotherhood of Makuta?
53. Did the OoMN ever take direct involvement in serious issues like huge wars (DH/BoM war for example)? Consequently, how much influence did they (Or would have) exert[ed? I know that they changed the stars and the Metru Nui environment to confuse Makuta, but were any members, like, actually involved personally? (You don't need to be too specific with this answer)
64. In relation to the BoM, How powerful are the OoMN members? Because if all the members of the BoM can produce Kraata (And subsequently Rahkshi) and use all their powers too, that seems pretty darn powerful, so it logically follows that the OoMN members would be equally powerful.
75. If the BoM can create Kraata/Rahkshi, then do the OoMN members have a special, uniform power like that as well?
86. Do the OoMN members reside in a single place, or are they scattered about like the BoM in their fortresses?
97. Why do the OoMN want to remain a secret society?
108. How much of a role will the OoMN play in the forthcoming 3-year story? A large role? Minor role? Intermediate role?
119. Do the OoMN play a major role in the origins of the Toa Olda?
12Thanks for your time :)
13~:x:~

141) Pretty much the only ones who know they exist are the Brotherhood 152) Probably around the same time 163) No, they did not end up needing to intervene in the wars. And they did not change the stars, Mata Nui did that himself. All they did was plant evidence to support the new astral configuration 174) Can't answer it 185) No 196) Scattered 207) Because they can be much more effective that way. For example, the Toa are very public heroes, and they are getting killed off all the time or spending their time fighting off enemies. OOMN doesn't need to waste time like that. 218-9) Can't answer it

1Some clarification on the Piraka's powers:
2Hey Greg.I have some more ridiculously nit-picky questions for you to answer.Oh, joy. :)
31. So, the Zamor are basically permanent versions of Sidorak's loyalty spinner, right? 42. Is there any way to undo a Zamor's effects? 53. Do Reidak's adapted defenses "stack?"In other words, is there a chance that he'll be immune to fire and ice from the start, and once he's defeated by Pohatu, he'll be immune to fire, ice, and stone? 64. Do Hakann's mental blasts affect his opponents on a mental or physical level? 75. How does Avak conjure his living prison?Does he just concentrate, and it appears around its target, or does it take time to grow and enclose his opponent? 86. Does Thok's spellbinder vision simply cause vertigo, or does it make them see illusions that disorient them? 97. What would happen if Thok used his animation power on an average, everyday rock? 108. Can Vezok create water daggers without a nearby source of water? 119a. Is Vezok only limited to one absorbed power at a time? 129b. Is the absorbed power one-use-only, like Keetongu's copied spinner powers? 139c. Will the person he absorbs the power from briefly lose their power? 1410. How is resistance to sea water a useful power? Can Vezok breathe underwater? 1511. Is Zaktan only limited to the forms of his "real" body and his swarm form, or can he change small parts individually? And could he rearrange his protodites to alter his "normal" body?Could he, for example, make an eye appear on his palm, detatch his hand, and make it crawl around spying on things for him?
16Thanks in advance.

171) Yes and no -- they are different because of what they contain. 182) You'll find out next year 193) Yup 204) Both 215) It's pretty instantaneous. 226) I am pretty much confining it to disorientation, since we already had an illusion power in the story 237) It would become an animated (i.e., moving) rock and do his bidding 248) Yes 259) No 269b) No 2710) It's a useful power because as you will find out in stories to come, sea water is some areas of the BIONICLE universe is very corrosive 2811) His parts can function independently of himself, yes, but it is doubtful his "hand" would crawl ... more likely it would fly. Oh, and I misstated one thing in an earlier answer -- his three-bladed tool is made of protodites, his zamor sphere launcher is not.

1I have heard that Brutaka is supposedly evil from the Toa and Matoran's perspective. Is this true?
2I'd imagine he'd be the guy from the OoMN while the $30 set would be the evil beast formed by an ancient curse.

3I am not commenting on Axonn or Brutaka because they are not out anywhere before March. Anything you have heard about either of them is strictly BZP speculation

4Okay. I have one more question though, how does Zaktan assume the position of leader when everyone hates eachother? Is he the most skilled, violent, cunning?

5He has managed to beat back any revolt, which is why he stays in command. And the idea to go after the Mask of Life was originally his.

61: Who's your favorite Piraka (Zaktan my fav)
72: Not sure if you can answer this, but how did he learn of the Mask of Life?

81) Zaktan 92) That gets revealed in the storyline next year

10Looks like Zaktan had the idea to search for the mask.

1Dear Greg:
2Just how fast/strong/agile etc. are Piraka?I know that one was able to swipe one of Lewa's katanas before he could react, but was this due to the fact that Lewa was in the middle of gloating and his guard was down, or are they really that fast?

3They are very fast, strength and agility varies between them. Remember, these are Dark Hunters -- their job was to infiltrate, steal assassinate -- you can't do that by being slow and clumsy (unless you're Krekka, and he was an exception)

11. Do Vezok's absorbed powers go away after a while? 22. Does the person he absorbed from lose his or her powers? 33. Can he only absorb non-physical powers? In other words, he wouldn't be able to absorb Zaktan's swarm power or a Visorak's Rhotuka spinner, right? 44. So, all Zamor are exactly the same. It's what's inside that differs, right? 55. Do all of the Piraka despise all of the others as a rule, or are there some that have different relationships?Does Reidak look up to Zaktan?Do Hakann and Thok have a kind of grudging mutual respect? 66. Is there any chance of you giving us a really cool Zaktan quote? 77. What, exactly, was the thinking behind Hakann's weapon? You say it's a lava launcher, but to any concerned parents who take a look at the set, it's going to be seen as a gun. What made you decide it was okay to have a Bionicle character carry a weapon that looks so much like a real-world gun?Wouldn't parents be turned off from buying it for their kids?

81) Yes 92) No 103) He absorbs natural powers, like elemental powers, but not mask powers or Rhotuka powers. 114) Yes 125) The Piraka work together because they have to to achieve their goals, but none of them particularly like or trust any other. There are alliances between some, but no one kids themselves they will last long past the finding of the Mask of Life. 136) "If only your aim was as sharp as your wit, you might survive this day." 147) First, I am not a product designer and have little to no input on that, so I did not "decide" anything. But I would also point out that Johnny Thunder LEGO sets have featured actual pistols and rifles, as have LEGO Western sets, not just things that look like they might be a gun. Previous BIONICLE characters have carried swords and axes and various other implements of destruction ... EXO-FORCE characters carry laser cannons and that sort of thing ... Star Wars characters have blasters ... so I really don't see this as hurting sales in any measurable way. While I would understand and respect someone having an objection, this is a sci-fi universe, it's not a real world character carrying an M-16, and I think there is a big difference between a "sort of resembling a gun" in a fantasy universe and an action figure carrying a real-life gun.

1Some info on Avak.
2The description of Avak that you gave us didn't really shed much light on his personality.Since he is one of my favorite Piraka, could you please tell me what he is like, if he is planning to betray the others, etc.
3-Angellos

4Avak speaks his mind -- he is less of a plotter and a schemer and more one to take direct action. He is not afraid to challenge Zaktan's leadership, even when doing so almost gets him killed. Unfortunately, that trait leads him to sometimes be used by other Piraka to draw attention away from what they are doing.

1I had these little questions about Zaktan's protodites. No spoilers.
2I wondered if you could be nice enough to answer this.
3I was thinking about how powerful could Zaktan's protodites be. What bugged me is, what if some of his protodites are somehow "trapped" for example inside a box or something while he's "swarming". If he then assembles himself would there be parts of him missing? Or would the protodites be strong enough to break themselves out of the "box"(this is just an example). And the other thing I was wondering about is, how big that swarm could be; can it spread throughout the whole island, or is there somekind of limit of how far the protodites can be from eachother.
4I don't know if these have been answered somewhere, that's why I'm asking.
5Thanks again Greg, forgive me for bothering you:

61) It would depend on how large a number of protodites you have trapped and how strong the box is. Remember that you are dealing with microscopic creatures, so unless your box is ABSOLUTELY airtight, they will be able to get out through a microscopic opening.
72) We don't know of a limit to how far apart they can be from each other, but to cover the entire island the protodites would have to be so spread out they couldn't do a whole lot. Zaktan has a finite number of protodites, it's not like he can produce more when he needs to.

1I asked him a bit about the DH War/Kanohi Dragon saga.
2Hello. I was just curious about a few Lhikan/Nidhiki saga related questions, seeing as I'm starting a bit of a project about it.
31) Is it possible that Vahki assisted the Toa in the defeat of the Kanohi Dragon or during the Dark Hunter war?
42) Though it may not be in the near future, will we ever learn of the events leading up to the Kanohi Dragon's defeat?
53) Did Lariska have her mechanical arm during the events of "Birth of a Dark Hunter"?
64) I've heard people here and there mentioning that Lariska had four arms, which I've never read about. Is this true?
75) How do you personally envision Lariska?
8Thank you for your time. I really appreciate how you answer fan questions around here. :)

101) Unlikely 112) No idea, it depends on if there is a place I can fit it in. Fan sentiment right now does not seem to favor more flashbacks 123) No 134) I don't recall that 145) I really don't "picture" my characters -- I think in words, not images

2When I wrote about Lariska in my epic, Stolen Virtues, I stated that she had four arms. It was simply my interpetation and I guess some people took it as fact. :P

1Interesting, I've never before heard of someone who thinks in words. Although, I guess that changes the way things are described; normally, I don't think when writing: I just write what comes to mind or fingers. ^_^

3Yeah, that's what I thought as well. You'd be surprised at how many people thought it was fact. :P

11) In the Brutaka/Axonn topic someone apparently Knows what one of the masks is and said that it is going to be Reaveled in 2 weeks. Have you told anyone what there masks are?
22)Is one of them the Mask of Life?
33)Is the BoM/DH war still going on during the time where the Nuva are on Voy-Nui?
44)Is the OoMN doing anything to stop it?
55)Since the Nuva won't appear in the comics, is it the toa from the game coming soon that they focus on?Or is it the Piraka? The Resistance?
66)Are the 6 Matoran in the Resistance the only ones? Are there more in it?

71) Anyone who is saying they know what Brutaka or Axonn's mask is is either mistaken or lying to you. I have not even defined their mask names or powers yet, since the sets don't come out for months.
82) No
93) Yes
104) Why should they? If two of their enemies are fighting, why get in the middle? Let them knock each other off.
115) I can't discuss the game at this time, I am not working on it.
126) You will have to read the story for this answer.
